RESUMO

The initial Na loss limits the theoretical specific capacity of cathodes in Na-ion full cell applications, especially for Na-deficient P2-type cathodes. In this study, we propose a presodiation strategy for cathodes to compensate for the initial Na loss in Na-ion full cells, resulting in a higher specific capacity and a higher energy density. By employing an electrochemical presodiation approach, we inject 0.32 excess active Na into P2-type Na0.67Li0.1Fe0.37Mn0.53O2 (NLFMO), aiming to compensate for the initial Na loss in hard carbon (HC) and the inherent Na deficiency of NLFMO. The structure of the NLFMO cathode converts from P2 to P'2 upon active Na injection, without affecting subsequent cycles. As a result, the HC||NLFMOpreNa full cell exhibits a specific capacity of 125 mAh/g, surpassing the value of 61 mAh/g of the HC||NLFMO full cell without presodiation due to the injected active Na. Moreover, the presodiation effect can be achieved through other engineering approaches (e.g., Na-metal contact), suggesting the scalability of this methodology.

RESUMO

Both LiFePO4 (LFP) and NaFePO4 (NFP) are phosphate polyanion-type cathode materials, which have received much attention due to their low cost and high theoretical capacity. Substitution of manganese (Mn) elements for LFP/NFP materials can improve the electrochemical properties, but the connection between local structural changes and electrochemical behaviors after Mn substitution is still not clear. This study not only achieves improvements in energy density of LFP and cyclic stability of NFP through Mn substitution, but also provides an in-depth analysis of the structural evolutions induced by the substitution. Among them, the substitution of Mn enables LiFe0.5 Mn0.5 PO4 to achieve a high energy density of 535.3 Wh kg-1 , while NaFe0.7 Mn0.3 PO4 exhibits outstanding cyclability with 89.6% capacity retention after 250 cycles. Specifically, Mn substitution broadens the ion-transport channels, improving the ion diffusion coefficient. Moreover, LiFe0.5 Mn0.5 PO4 maintains a more stable single-phase transition during the charge/discharge process. The transition of NaFe0.7 Mn0.3 PO4 to the amorphous phase is avoided, which can maintain structural stability and achieve better electrochemical performance. With systematic analysis, this research provides valuable guidance for the subsequent design of high-performance polyanion-type cathodes.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to explore the role of phospholipase C epsilon1 (PLCE1) in the growth and progression of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and determine its potential as a biomarker with respect to diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of OSCC. METHODS: The expression level of PLCE1 in tissue specimens was detected by immunohistochemistry (182 OSCC cases and 76 controls) and its relationship to clinicopathological parameters was analyzed. Then, the diagnostic value of PLCE1 in OSCC was verified by constructing the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. Kaplan-Meier and Cox analysis were performed to investigate the role of PLCE1 in predicting the prognosis of OSCC patients. Furthermore, the effects of PLCE1 on the occurrence and development of OSCC were revealed by knocking down the level of PLCE1. RESULTS: PLCE1 was mainly located in the cytoplasm of OSCC cells, and its level in OSCC tissues was obviously higher than in adjacent normal tissues. While the expression of PLCE1 did not correlate with clinicopathological parameters of OSCC. The area under the ROC curve (AUC) of PLCE1 was 0.865 with a sensitivity of 75.8% and a specificity of 78.8%. Besides, high expression of PLCE1 suggested a worse prognosis in OSCC patients than those with low expression. The knockdown of PLCE1 obviously inhibited proliferation, migration, and invasion of OSCC cells, and induce G0 cell cycle phase arrest and apoptosis, thus preventing the progression of OSCC. CONCLUSION: PLCE1 may cause carcinogenesis and development of OSCC, which provide a novel possibility in diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of OSCC.

RESUMO

It is of great significance to obtain the performance state of complex equipment to protect equipment and maintain its normal operation. The majority of the performance evaluation methods are based on test data, but resume information is not considered. With its wide applicability and completeness, the resume information can be used in the comprehensive evaluation of equipment in various non-testing situations. By incorporating resume information into the performance evaluation of complex equipment, the flexible use of test data and resume information can result in a more comprehensive and accurate evaluation. Therefore, this paper focuses on the evaluation method of complex equipment performance based on evidential reasoning (ER) considering resume information. In order to unify the test data and resume information in the same framework, a novel method is proposed to transform them into the ER-based performance evaluation. On this basis, according to the index types, different reliability calculation methods are put forward, with one being based on the first-order fitting coefficient of variation, and the other being based on average time to failure; the index weight is analyzed based on the method of expert weight construction. Then, the transformed information with reliability and weight are fused by the ER rule. Finally, a performance evaluation case of a certain inertial measurement unit (IMU) is conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Clinical diagnosis and monitoring are crucial to reduce the mortality from oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and oral potentially malignant disorders (OPMDs). It has been demonstrated that synuclein-γ (SNCG) and squamous cell carcinoma antigen (SCCAg) are highly expressed in patients with OSCC and perhaps participate in OSCC progression. This study analyzed the levels of serum SNCG and SCCAg in OSCC, OPMD, and control patients, and evaluated the diagnostic and clinical value of single and combined detection of serum SNCG and SCCAg in OSCC and OPMDs. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Serum samples were collected from 197 patients including 87 patients with OSCC, 30 patients with OPMDs, and 80 healthy volunteers as controls. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and statistical analysis were utilized to determine SNCG and SCCAg levels in serum. RESULTS: The levels of SNCG and SCCAg in serum were significantly higher in OSCC compared with OPMDs and controls. There was a correlation between SNCG level and ethnicity, and SCCAg was correlated with differentiation. Furthermore, the area under the curves, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), and negative predictive value (NPV) of combined detection of SNCG and SCCAg were better than any single detection. CONCLUSION: The combined detection of SNCG and SCCAg in serum could become a new standard method to distinguish between OSCC and OPMDs and improve diagnostic performance for OSCC.

RESUMO

In this study, leaf midribs, the elite explants, were used for the first time to develop an efficient regeneration and transformation protocol for ramie [Boehmeria nivea (L.) Gaud.] via Agrobacterium-mediated genetic transformation. Sensitivity of leaf midribs regeneration to kanamycin was evaluated, which showed that 40 mg l(-1) was the optimal concentration needed to create the necessary selection pressure. Factors affecting the ramie transformation efficiency were evaluated, including leaf age, Agrobacterium concentration, length of infection time for the Agrobacterium solution, acetosyringone concentration in the co-cultivation medium, and the co-cultivation period. The midrib explants from 40-day-old in vitro shoots, an Agrobacterium concentration at OD600 of 0.6, 10-min immersion in the bacteria solution, an acetosyringone concentration of 50 mg l(-1) in the co-cultivation medium and a 3-day co-cultivation period produced the highest efficiencies of regeneration and transformation. In this study, the average transformation rate was 23.25%. Polymerase chain reactions using GUS and NPTII gene-specific primers, Southern blot and histochemical GUS staining analyses further confirmed that the transgene was integrated into the ramie genome and expressed in the transgenic ramie. The establishment of this system of Agrobacterium-mediated genetic transformation and regeneration of transgenic plants will be used not only to introduce genes of interest into the ramie genome for the purpose of trait improvement, but also as a common means of testing gene function by enhancing or inhibiting the expression of target genes.

RESUMO

Layered oxide cathodes encounter structural challenges during cycling, prompting the exploration of an ingenious heterostructure strategy, which incorporates stable components into the layered structure as strain regulators to enhance materials cycle stability. Despite considerable research efforts, identifying suitable, convenient, and cost-effective materials and methods remains elusive. Herein, focused on lithium cobalt oxide (LiCoO2), we utilized its low-temperature polymorph as a strain-retardant embedded within a cathode. Our findings reveal that the low-temperature component, exhibiting zero-strain characteristic, adopts a complex configuration with a predominant lithiated spinel structure, also featuring both cubic-layered and typical-layered configurations. But this composite cathode exhibits a sluggish lithium-ion transport rate, attributed to Co&Li dislocation at the dual structural boundaries and the formation of cobalt(iii) oxide. This investigation presents a pioneering endeavor in employing heterostructure strategies, underscoring the critical role of such strategies in component selection, which ultimately propels the advancement of layered oxide cathode candidates for Li-ion battery technology.

RESUMO

Developing sacrificial cathode prelithiation technology to compensate for active lithium loss is vital for improving the energy density of lithium-ion battery full-cells. Li2CO3 owns high theoretical specific capacity, superior air stability, but poor conductivity as an insulator, acting as a promising but challenging prelithiation agent candidate. Herein, extracting a trace amount of Co from LiCoO2 (LCO), a lattice engineering is developed through substituting Li sites with Co and inducing Li defects to obtain a composite structure consisting of (Li0.906Co0.043▫0.051)2CO2.934 and ball milled LiCoO2 (Co-Li2CO3@LCO). Notably, both the bandgap and Li─O bond strength have essentially declined in this structure. Benefiting from the synergistic effect of Li defects and bulk phase catalytic regulation of Co, the potential of Li2CO3 deep decomposition significantly decreases from typical >4.7 to ≈4.25 V versus Li/Li+, presenting >600 mAh g-1 compensation capacity. Impressively, coupling 5 wt% Co-Li2CO3@LCO within NCM-811 cathode, 235 Wh kg-1 pouch-type full-cell is achieved, performing 88% capacity retention after 1000 cycles.

RESUMO

Performance evaluation (PE) is an important part of equipment health management. If the monitoring information of the equipment is interfered, the evaluation results may be erroneous. A robust performance evaluation (RPE) method is proposed to solve this problem. The performance evaluation results are obtained by distinguishing the cases of single evidence with interference and two evidence with interference, and a robustness measurement based on interval similarity is proposed. To improve the accuracy of the evaluation results, the referential values in the IER evaluation model are optimized. The robustness thresholds of the input indexes are obtained under the satisfaction of the robustness constraints. If the interference value of the input index is within the thresholds, the deviation between the evaluation results using monitoring information with interference and those using monitoring information without interference is small. Finally, the proposed method is applied to a type of electric servo mechanism performance evaluation, and the case shows the validity of the RPE method.

RESUMO

Anode-free lithium metal batteries (AF-LMBs) can deliver the maximum energy density. However, achieving AF-LMBs with a long lifespan remains challenging because of the poor reversibility of Li+ plating/stripping on the anode. Here, coupled with a fluorine-containing electrolyte, we introduce a cathode pre-lithiation strategy to extend the lifespan of AF-LMBs. The AF-LMB is constructed with Li-rich Li2Ni0.5Mn1.5O4 cathodes as a Li-ion extender; the Li2Ni0.5Mn1.5O4 can deliver a large amount of Li+ in the initial charging process to offset the continuous Li+ consumption, which benefits the cycling performance without sacrificing energy density. Moreover, the cathode pre-lithiation design has been practically and precisely regulated using engineering methods (Li-metal contact and pre-lithiation Li-biphenyl immersion). Benefiting from the highly reversible Li metal on the Cu anode and Li2Ni0.5Mn1.5O4 cathode, the further fabricated anode-free pouch cells achieve 350 W h kg-1 energy density and 97% capacity retention after 50 cycles.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: Treating red blood cells (RBCs) with dithiothreitol (DTT) is a wildly-recommended to overcome the interference of the daratumumab (DARA) with blood compatibility testing. Nevertheless, DTT can be hard to obtain in the clinical laboratory, while its use in routine practice may be time-consuming. In the following study, we explored the feasibility of using a commercial 2-mercaptoethanol (2-ME) working solution or the time-saving Polybrene method to mitigate DARA interference. METHODS: Antibody screening and cross-matching were performed using 2-ME or DTT-based indirect antiglobulin tests (IATs) and Polybrene method (with human IgG anti-E same IATs titer as DARA as positive control) on 37 samples. Most clinically important blood group antigens on RBCs were detected after treatment with 2-ME or DTT. RESULTS: Treating RBCs with 2-ME eliminates the DARA interference with the antibody screening or cross-matching; yet, K antigen is denatured during treatment. DARA does not interfere with antibody screening and cross-matching via Polybrene method, while 2+ agglutinations of anti-E antibody with the same titer (IATs method) as DARA could be observed in the positive controls via this method. CONCLUSION: 2-ME-based IATs or Polybrene method could replace DTT-based IATs to mitigate DARA interference.

RESUMO

A Förster resonance energy-transfer (FRET)-based ratiometric fluorescent indicator Cou-FITC-Si toward fluoride ion has been designed and synthesized by combining coumarin unit and fluorescein derivative as energy donor and acceptor, respectively. The fluorescein unit is capped with tert-butyldiphenylchlorosilane. The indicator gives out emission responses based on switch-on of the FRET process that triggered by the desilylation mediated by the fluoride ion. The fluorescence emission spectrum of Cou-FITC-Si presents a significant bathochromic shift of 59 nm after the addition of fluoride ion with up to 180-fold increase of the fluorescence intensity ratio. The limit of detection of the Cou-FITC-Si indicator system toward fluoride ion was estimated to be 3.3 ppb. Furthermore, this indicator has been successfully applied for quantifying the fluoride ion of different concentrations from commercially available toothpaste.
