RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To describe the construction of the scenarios and the development of the realistic simulation technique in health on safe administration of drugs for nursing professionals. METHOD: Report of experience developed from October 2017 to May 2018 involving the steps of training of the facilitators, construction of the scenarios, development of the realistic simulation with nursing staff of a teaching hospital in the southern region of Brazil. The best simulation practice guidelines used from the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning. RESULTS: Four practice-based scenarios were constructed based on adverse events. The nurses educators trained the facilitators participating in all stages. There was concern about the fidelity of the scenarios, as well as the execution of the briefing and debriefing stages. CONCLUSIONS: The simulation allowed the reflection of the "way of doing" of the teams adjusting the process of preparation and administration of medicines to the institutional recommendations and, thus, promoting the safety of the process.

RESUMO

The aim of this study was to identijf how nursing students perceive and experience the learning process during curricular practice in a hospital setting. A qualitative, retrospective, documentary study was developed in an undergraduate nursing course. Data were comprised of 162 posts made by 34 students in the online discussion forum of the Learning Management System Moodle, during the first half of 2011. The following themes emergedfrom t he thematic content analysis: "nursing students' understanding about the professional practice," and "the teaching and learning process in the perspective of nursing students." The study demonstrated that the forum was a place for reporting experiences such as the description of the physical area, performing procedures, perception of nursing care activities, conJlicts with peers, coping with death and learning evaluation. The online discussion forum needs to be used by professors as a space of interaction so as to contribute to professional training.

RESUMO

The objective was to analyze the structure of school blogs on sexuality and their utilization by adolescents. This quantitative, exploratory and documentary study was performed with 11 blogs designed by students and available online in March of 2012. The information was submitted to hypertext analysis and descriptive statistics, taking research ethics norms into consideration. Group and education blogs developed in Portuguese and Brazilian schools were most often signed by their authors and suffered few updates. The written posts mixed scientific and informal languages, besides presenting videos and images. Every blog included information regarding the number of followers, visits, comments and a contact to answer questions. The highlighted discussed topics were birth control methods and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Blogs are a resource for health education that should promote active discussions and rely on the participation of health care professionals.

RESUMO

This documental case study was performed using a qualitative approach, and analyzed the dialogues of Nursing students in a context mediated by an educational chat in a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). The data consisted of eight discussions among students, professors and monitors of the Rio Grande do Sul Federal University College of Nursing on the TelEduc® VLE chat on the activity called Virtual Client. The data were categorized using NVivo® software; and the information was analyzed using the Content Analysis technique. The results revealed feelings such as anxiety, fear and motivation towards hospital practice, as well as the dichotomous position of students regarding the proposed activity: some enjoyed the virtual discussions, while others preferred having discussions in person. This article presents recommendations for using educational chats in Nursing education.

RESUMO

The purpose of this study was to know undergraduated nursing students' opinions about the pedagogical practice in vital signs grounded on the problem-based learning approach presented in the form of digital educational objects. Ten individuals participated in the research, which used the methodology of a qualitative-case study. Data were obtained by means of semistructured interviews analyzed through thematic analysis. Three final categories were identified: computer-based learning, group work organization, and vital sign learning project evaluation. The activity was a new experience for the students, who considered it as positive because it facilitated both the access to contents and the communication between classmates. However students missed the physical presence of the professor. The group work was conducted in a collaborative way most of the time. The offering of computer-mediated activities associated to the problem-based learning methodology to nursing students has proven to be important.

RESUMO

The purpose of this qualitative study was to get to know how undergraduate nursing students at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul Nursing School experienced the computer-based learning (CBL) course: "Socio-historical process in nursing education". Five female students, who had attended the course the previous semester, were interviewed. Data were analyzed according to the thematic analysis. The final categories were: "the students' experience in the use of computer technologies" and "the students in relation to the computer-based learning experience". The flexibilization of study time and venue was pointed out as a positive factor. The students realized that CBL requires more effort and dedication when compared to conventional learning activities. We concluded that computer-based learning is an inclusive modality that allows access of students who are already involved in the labor market.

RESUMO

This paper describes a development project of digital learning objects in nursing, and the evaluation of their use by teachers and undergraduate nursing students. The strategies for their development were composed of the following stages: conceptual modeling, development of instructional materials, implementation in a virtual learning environment, and evaluation. This is an ongoing study and preliminary results demonstrate that teachers and students evaluated the design and the content of the nursing digital learning objects satisfactorily, but demonstrate difficulties in using them. The results point to the impact of innovation through the consolidation of the use of educational technologies integrated to the teaching of nursing, as well as a support program for teachers.

RESUMO

This exploratory descriptive study aimed at assessing the performance of undergraduate students in the fourth year of the Nursing course to carry out a vein puncture technique with the support of three digital educational materials--hypertext, educational games, and simulations. The sample consisted of 37 students, who had studied the digital material in an IT laboratory and had carried out the procedure of peripheral vein puncture in training laboratory. Ten stages considered essential for the accomplishment of the procedure were observed, and an assessment form of the educational materials was analyzed. Thirty three (89.19%) subjects had never done vein puncture, and 27 (72.97%) correctly performed five or more stages of the procedure. As to visualizing and saving the educational materials in the computer, 12 (32.44%) and 15 (40.54%) students, respectively, said to have had some kind of difficulty. According to 91.90% of the students, the material aided their learning process, which demonstrates this learning tool can be explored and more frequently used.
