RESUMO

Interstitial iodides are the most critical type of defects in perovskite solar cells that limits efficiency and stability. They can be generated during solution, film, and device processing, further accelerating degradation. Herein, we find that introducing a small amount of a zinc salt- zinc trifluoromethane sulfonate (Zn(OOSCF3)2) in the perovskite solution can control the iodide defects in resultant perovskites ink and films. CF3SOO̶ vigorously suppresses molecular iodine formation in the perovskites by reducing it to iodide. At the same time, zinc cations can precipitate excess iodide by forming a Zn-Amine complex so that the iodide interstitials in the resultant perovskite films can be suppressed. The perovskite films using these additives show improved photoluminescence quantum efficiency and reduce deep trap density, despite zinc cations reducing the perovskite grain size and iodide interstitials. The zinc additives facilitate the formation of more uniform perovskite films on large-area substrates (78-108 cm2) in the blade-coating process. Fabricated minimodules show power conversion efficiencies of 19.60% and 19.21% with aperture areas of 84 and 108 cm2, respectively, as certified by National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), the highest efficiency certified for minimodules of these sizes.

Drug local delivery system that directly supply anti-cancer drugs to the tumor microenvironment (TME) results in excellent tumor control and minimizes side effects associated with the anti-cancer drugs. Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have been the mainstay of cancer immunotherapy. However, the systemic administration of ICIs is accompanied by considerable immunotherapy-related toxicity. To explore whether an anti-PD-L1 antibody administered locally via a sustained-release gel-forming carrier retains its effective anticancer function while causing fewer colitis-like side effects, CT, a previously reported depot system, was used to locally deliver an anti-PD-L1 antibody together with curcumin to the TME in bladder cancer-bearing ulcerative colitis model mice. We showed that CT-mediated intratumoral coinjection of an anti-PD-L1 antibody and curcumin enabled sustained release of both the loaded anti-PD-L1 antibody and curcumin, which contributed to substantial anticancer effects with negligible side effects on the colons of the UC model mice. However, although the anti-PD-L1 antibody administered systemically synergized with the CT-mediated intratumoral delivery of curcumin in inhibiting tumour growth, colitis was significantly worsened by intraperitoneal administration of anti-PD-L1 antibody. These findings suggested that CT is a promising agent for the local delivery of anticancer drugs, as it can allow effective anticancer functions to be retained while sharply reducing the adverse side effects associated with the systemic administration of these drugs.

The light-emitting diodes (LEDs) used in indoor testing of perovskite solar cells do not expose them to the levels of ultraviolet (UV) radiation that they would receive in actual outdoor use. We report degradation mechanisms of p-i-n-structured perovskite solar cells under unfiltered sunlight and with LEDs. Weak chemical bonding between perovskites and polymer hole-transporting materials (HTMs) and transparent conducting oxides (TCOs) dominate the accelerated A-site cation migration, rather than direct degradation of HTMs. An aromatic phosphonic acid, [2-(9-ethyl-9H-carbazol-3-yl)ethyl]phosphonic acid (EtCz3EPA), enhanced bonding at the perovskite/HTM/TCO region with a phosphonic acid group bonded to TCOs and a nitrogen group interacting with lead in perovskites. A hybrid HTM of EtCz3EPA with strong hole-extraction polymers retained high efficiency and improved the UV stability of perovskite devices, and a champion perovskite minimodule-independently measured by the Perovskite PV Accelerator for Commercializing Technologies (PACT) center-retained operational efficiency of >16% after 29 weeks of outdoor testing.

Virtual machine scheduling and resource allocation mechanism in the process of dynamic virtual machine consolidation is a promising access to alleviate the cloud data centers of prominent energy consumption and service level agreement violations with improvement in quality of service (QoS). In this article, we propose an efficient algorithm (AESVMP) based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) for the virtual machine scheduling in accordance with the measure. Firstly, we take into consideration three key criteria including the host of power consumption, available resource and resource allocation balance ratio, in which the ratio can be calculated by the balance value between overall three-dimensional resource (CPU, RAM, BW) flat surface and resource allocation flat surface (when new migrated virtual machine (VM) consumed the targeted host's resource). Then, virtual machine placement decision is determined by the application of multi-criteria decision making techniques AHP embedded with the above-mentioned three criteria. Extensive experimental results based on the CloudSim emulator using 10 PlanetLab workloads demonstrate that the proposed approach can reduce the cloud data center of number of migration, service level agreement violation (SLAV), aggregate indicators of energy comsumption (ESV) by an average of 51.76%, 67.4%, 67.6% compared with the cutting-edge method LBVMP, which validates the effectiveness.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) are an integral antitumor therapy for many malignancies. Most patients show very good tolerability to ICIs; however, serious immune-related adverse events (irAEs) with ICIs have been well documented and prevent some patients from continuing ICIs or even become the direct cause of patient death. Cytopenia is a rare irAE but can be life-threatening. Here, we present the case of a 66-year-old male patient with metastatic lung adenocarcinoma who received two doses of chemotherapy + PD-1 antibody tislelizumab and developed pancytopenia after each dose. Although the first episode of pancytopenia resolved with a treatment regimen of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF), thrombopoietin (TPO), and red blood cell and platelet transfusion, the second episode showed extreme resistance to these treatments and improved only after the administration of steroids. His second pancytopenia episode resolved after a long course of treatment with methylprednisolone, G-CSF, TPO, hetrombopag and multiple red blood cell and platelet transfusions. However, he suffered a cerebral infarction when his platelet count was in the normal range and gradually recovered 1 week later. This case highlights the importance of the early recognition and management of hematological irAEs.

The ongoing ENPOWER study exploring the efficacy and safety of the recombinant human endostatin (endostar) combined with programmed cell death 1 antibody sintilimab and chemotherapy showed encouraging efficacy and safety in advanced non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer. To evaluate the real-world efficacy and safety of endostar combined with immune checkpoint inhibitor and chemotherapy (EIC) for advanced non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer patients negative for actionable molecular biomarkers (NSCLCnm), patients with advanced NSCLCnm hospitalized to Zhejiang Provincial People's Hospital from January 2020 to December 2022 were screened for eligibility. The included patients were analyzed for the objective response rate (ORR) and disease control rate (DCR). The pre- and posttreatment expression levels of serum tumor associated biomarkers, chemokines and subpopulations of immune cells in peripheral blood were compared. For the 31 patients with advanced NSCLCnm treated with EIC, the median follow-up and treatment cycles were 18.0 months and 4, respectively. The ORR and DCR were 38.7% and 90.3%, respectively. For those who received EIC as first-line treatment, the ORR and DCR were 63.2% and 94.7%, respectively. EIC significantly decreased expression levels of carcinoma antigen 125, carcinoma embryonic antigen and cytokeratin 19 (P<0.05) in patients who were partial remission or stable disease. Among the 31 patients, 27 (87.1%) experienced at least 1 treatment-related adverse events, and 13 (41.9%) had the treatment-related adverse events of grade 3 or higher. No antiangiogenesis-related adverse events were observed. The current study showed that EIC was potentially effective for patients with NSCLCnm, especially when used as first-line therapy, and well tolerated.

The defective bottom interfaces of perovskites and hole-transport layers (HTLs) limit the performance of p-i-n structure perovskite solar cells. We report that the addition of lead chelation molecules into HTLs can strongly interact with lead(II) ion (Pb2+), resulting in a reduced amorphous region in perovskites near HTLs and a passivated perovskite bottom surface. The minimodule with an aperture area of 26.9 square centimeters has a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 21.8% (stabilized at 21.1%) that is certified by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), which corresponds to a minimal small-cell efficiency of 24.6% (stabilized 24.1%) throughout the module area. Small-area cells and large-area minimodules with lead chelation molecules in HTLs had a light soaking stability of 3010 and 2130 hours, respectively, at an efficiency loss of 10% from the initial value under 1-sun illumination and open-circuit voltage conditions.

OBJECTIVE: To establish a stable animal model for studying the effect of traumatic brain injury on bone fracture healing. METHODS: Eighty adult male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into fracture combined brain injury group (A) and simple fracture group (B). Animals of the two groups were killed 6 hours, 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month and 2 months after trauma, respectively. Their brain histopathology changes were observed and neurological severity scores (NSS, 0 through 25 from no injury to severe injury) determined to measure the brain injury after head trauma, and fracture-healing was assessed by measuring callus volume and X ray examination at the scheduled time points after trauma. The callus volumes were compared between the groups using independent-samples t test 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month and 2 months after trauma respectively. A value of P<0.05 was considered statistically significant. RESULTS: Ninety percent of the rats of group A presented with hemiplegia and the mortality rate was 10% (4/40) . The survived rats developed decorticated flexion deformity of the forelimbs, with behavioral depression, and lost some reflexes and muscle tone. The NSS were 10.83±1.94, 9.33±0.82, 8.17±1.17, 7.83±0.75 and 8.07±0.82 with 6 hours, 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month and 2 months after trauma, respectively. It showed that the animals received moderate head injury, which tended to be stable from 2 weeks after trauma. Brain pathology showed that blood brain barrier was destroyed, and neurons were degenerative and necrotic at and around the trauma sites. The callus volumes(unit: mm(3)) of the two groups 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month and 2 months after trauma were 60.03±28.05 and 32.80±11.04, 78.54±15.16 and 51.36±23.02, 93.01±10.65 and 72.38±20.38, 115.26±40.00 and 60.30±13.34, respectively. The callus volumes of the two groups 2 weeks, 1 month and 2 months after trauma were statistically and significantly different (P values were 0.036, 0.006 and 0.01 respectively), and there was no difference 1 week after trauma (P=0.065). CONCLUSION: This model is capable of producing accurately quantified brain injury. The animal model is credible, stable and reproducible, so it is an effective platform for studying the effect of traumatic brain injury on fracture.

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the obvious and hidden blood loss before and after operations in the inter-trochanter fracture patients treated with proximal femoral nail anti-rotation (PFNA) and dynamic hip screw (DHS) to provide the data support for clinical perioperative period treatment. METHODS: The clinical data of 216 cases of inter-trochanter fracture patients treated with PFNA and 168 cases of inter-trochanter fracture patients treated with DHS from Dec. 30, 2001 to Sep. 30, 2010, and the obvious, hidden blood loss and blood transfusion before and after operations were retrospectively analyzed, using SPSS 13.0 statistical package. RESULTS: The PFNA group: The mean blood loss of (48.9±2.8) mL was found in 216 cases of inter-trochanter fracture patients during operation. The mean obvious blood loss was (62.3±3.8) mL while the hidden blood loss was (385.0±6.2) mL. The DHS group: The mean blood loss of (124.9±7.8) mL was found in 168 cases during operation. The mean obvious blood loss was (73.9±4.7) mL and the hidden blood loss was (243.4±6.3) mL after operation. The blood loss during operation and obvious blood loss after operation of DHS was larger than that of PFNA, while the hidden blood loss of DHS was smaller than that of PFNA. The gross total blood loss and the hidden blood loss of group PFNA was bigger than that of DHS group. CONCLUSION: There were much hidden blood loss in both PFNA and DHS group for inter-trochanter fracture internal fixation after operation. This reminds surgeons to monitor the life vital signs after PFNA or DHS internal fixation operation in order to decrease the complication.

OBJECTIVES: To present a new method consisting of cable cerclage and hook plate for fixating the comminuted inferior patellar pole fracture and evaluate the outcomes. METHODS: A total of 16 consecutive patients who were treated with the construct of a cable cerclage in combination with a hook plate between January 2018 and September 2020 were included in the study. Mechanism of injury, duration, and technical details of the operation were reviewed. Plain radiographs and computerized tomography (CT) scans were routinely taken to evaluate the fracture pattern. The primary outcome measures included bony healing time, pain intensity-numerical rating scale (PI-NRS), range of motion (ROM), and the Bostman score at the final follow-up. RESULTS: Eight males and eight females with an average age of 55.6 ± 12.0 years (range, 41 to 73 years) were included. Bony union was achieved in all the patients, with an average healing time of 10.8 ± 2.4 weeks (range, 8-16 weeks). With the average follow-up of 20.1 ± 5.3 months, 12 patients (75%) had no pain (PI-NRS score of 0), and the remaining four patients (25%) reported mild pain (three with a PI-NRS score of 1 and one with a score of 2). The final Bostman score was 27.8 ± 3.0 (range, 20-30) on average, and all the patients showed excellent or good results. The average range of motion was 127.5° ± 13.9° (range, 90°-140°). No implant failure or hardware irritation was found during the follow-up. CONCLUSION: The fixation of cable cerclage combined with hook plate resulted as a reliable method for managing the inferior patellar pole fractures, allowing immediate rehabilitation and weight-bearing.

Understanding carrier recombination processes in metal halide perovskites is fundamentally important to further improving the efficiency of perovskite solar cells, yet the accurate recombination velocity at grain boundaries (GBs) has not been determined. Here, we report the determination of carrier recombination velocities at GBs (SGB) of polycrystalline perovskites by mapping the transient photoluminescence pattern change induced by the nonradiative recombination of carriers at GBs. Charge recombination at GBs is revealed to be even stronger than at surfaces of unpassivated films, with average SGB reaching 2200 to 3300 cm/s. Regular surface treatments do not passivate GBs because of the absence of contact at GBs. We find a surface treatment using tributyl(methyl)phosphonium dimethyl phosphate that can penetrate into GBs by partially dissolving GBs and converting it into one-dimensional perovskites. It reduces the average SGB by four times, with the lowest SGB of 410 cm/s, which is comparable to surface recombination velocities after passivation.

Background: The enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) program is aimed to shorten patients' recovery process and improve clinical outcomes. This study aimed to compare the outcomes between the ERAS program and the traditional pathway among patients with ankle fracture and distal radius fracture. Methods: This is a multicenter prospective clinical controlled study consisting of 323 consecutive adults with ankle fracture from 12 centers and 323 consecutive adults with distal radial fracture from 13 centers scheduled for open reduction and internal fixation between January 2017 and December 2018. According to the perioperative protocol, patients were divided into two groups: the ERAS group and the traditional group. The primary outcome was the patients' satisfaction of the whole treatment on discharge and at 6 months postoperatively. The secondary outcomes include delapsed time between admission and surgery, length of hospital stay, postoperative complications, functional score, and the MOS item short form health survey-36. Results: Data describing 772 patients with ankle fracture and 658 patients with distal radius fracture were collected, of which 323 patients with ankle fracture and 323 patients with distal radial fracture were included for analysis. The patients in the ERAS group showed higher satisfaction levels on discharge and at 6 months postoperatively than in the traditional group (P < 0.001). In the subgroup analysis, patients with distal radial fracture in the ERAS group were more satisfied with the treatment (P=0.001). Furthermore, patients with ankle fracture had less time in bed (P < 0.001) and shorter hospital stay (P < 0.001) and patients with distal radial fracture received surgery quickly after being admitted into the ward in the ERAS group than in the traditional group (P=0.001). Conclusions: Perioperative protocol based on the ERAS program was associated with high satisfaction levels, less time in bed, and short hospital stay without increased complication rate and decreased functional outcomes.

Perovskite-based electronic materials and devices such as perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have notoriously bad reproducibility, which greatly impedes both fundamental understanding of their intrinsic properties and real-world applications. Here, we report that organic iodide perovskite precursors can be oxidized to I2 even for carefully sealed precursor powders or solutions, which markedly deteriorates the performance and reproducibility of PSCs. Adding benzylhydrazine hydrochloride (BHC) as a reductant into degraded precursor solutions can effectively reduce the detrimental I2 back to I-, accompanied by a substantial reduction of I3 --induced charge traps in the films. BHC residuals in perovskite films further stabilize the PSCs under operation conditions. BHC improves the stabilized efficiency of the blade-coated p-i-n structure PSCs to a record value of 23.2% (22.62 ± 0.40% certified by National Renewable Energy Laboratory), and the high-efficiency devices have a very high yield. A stabilized aperture efficiency of 18.2% is also achieved on a 35.8-cm2 mini-module.

Perovskite photovoltaics are gaining increasing common ground to partner with or compete with silicon photovoltaics to reduce cost of solar energy. However, a cost-effective waste management for toxic lead (Pb), which might determine the fate of this technology, has not been developed yet. Here, we report an end-of-life material management for perovskite solar modules to recycle toxic lead and valuable transparent conductors to protect the environment and create dramatic economic benefits from recycled materials. Lead is separated from decommissioned modules by weakly acidic cation exchange resin, which could be released as soluble Pb(NO3)2 followed by precipitation as PbI2 for reuse, with a recycling efficiency of 99.2%. Thermal delamination disassembles the encapsulated modules with intact transparent conductors and cover glasses. The refabricated devices based on recycled lead iodide and recycled transparent conductors show comparable performance as devices based on fresh raw materials. Cost analysis shows this recycling technology is economically attractive.

Despite the high-efficiency and low-cost prospect for perovskite solar cells, great concerns of lead toxicity and instability remain for this technology. Here, we report an encapsulation strategy for perovskite modules based on lead-adsorbing ionogel, which prevents lead leakage and withstand long-term stability tests. The ionogel layers integrated on both sides of modules enhance impact resistance. The self-healable ionogel can prevent water permeation into the perovskite layer and adsorb lead that might leak. The encapsulated devices pass the damp heat and thermal cycling accelerated stability tests according to International Electrotechnical Commission 61215 standard. The ionogel encapsulation reduces lead leakage to undetectable level after the hail-damaged module is soaked in water for 24 hours. Even being rolled over by a car followed by water soaking for 45 days, the ionogel encapsulation reduces lead leakage by three orders of magnitude. This work provides a strategy to simultaneously address lead leakage and stability for perovskite modules.

AIMS: Vancouver type B periprosthetic femoral fractures (PFF) are challenging complications after total hip arthroplasty (THA), and some treatment controversies remain. The objectives of this study were: to evaluate the short-to-mid-term clinical outcomes after treatment of Vancouver type B PFF and to compare postoperative outcome in subgroups according to classifications and treatments; to report the clinical outcomes after conservative treatment; and to identify risk factors for postoperative complications in Vancouver type B PFF. METHODS: A total of 97 consecutive PPFs (49 males and 48 females) were included with a mean age of 66 years (standard deviation (SD) 14.9). Of these, 86 patients were treated with surgery and 11 were treated conservatively. All living patients had a minimum two-year follow-up. Patient demographics details, fracture healing, functional scores, and complications were assessed. Clinical outcomes between internal fixation and revisions in patients with or without a stable femoral component were compared. Conservatively treated PPFs were evaluated in terms of mortality and healing status. A logistic regression analysis was performed to identify risk factors for complications. RESULTS: In surgically treated patients, all fractures united and nine complications were identified. The mean postoperative Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) for pain was 1.5 (SD 1.3), mean Parker Mobility Score (PMS) was 6.5 (SD 2.4), and mean Harris Hip Score (HHS) was 79.4 (SD 16.2). Among type B2 and type B3 fractures, patients treated with internal fixation had significantly lower PMS (p = 0.032) and required a longer time to heal (p = 0.012). In conservatively treated patients, one-year mortality rate was 36.4% (4/11), and two patients ultimately progressed to surgery. Young age (p = 0.039) was found to be the only risk factor for complications. CONCLUSION: The overall clinical outcome among Vancouver type B PFF was satisfactory. However, treatment with internal fixation in type B2 and B3 fractures had a significantly longer time to heal and lower mobility than revision cases. Conservative treatment was associated with high rates of early mortality and, in survivors, nonunion. This probably reflects our selection bias in undertaking surgical intervention. In order to suppress the shuttling of soluble lithium polysulfides in Li-S batteries and increase the conductivity of the sulfur cathode, here we report the design and synthesis of three-dimensional (3D) highly ordered porous carbon bulk network (PCBNs), using silica (SiO2) nanospheres as removable hard templates and soluble starch as carbon source. After carbonization and template removal, the as-prepared PCBNs composed of interconnected hollow carbon balls exhibit large surface area (447.4 m2/g) and large pore volume (1.567 cm3/g), high graphitization degree and robust framework. Serving as an efficient sulfur host, PCBNs supported sulfur cathode (S@PCBNs with sulfur content of 72 wt%) delivers a high discharge capacity of 760 mA h/g after 150 cycles at 0.1 C and 455 mA h/g after 400 cycles at 1 C. The superior lithium storage properties is attributed to the novel hierarchical microstructure of the PCBNs, in which the large hollow space not only allows high loading of sulfur but also efficiently accommodates the large volumetric expansion. Moreover, the interconnected PCBNs with high conductivity can spatially confine the shuttling of soluble polysulfides and enhance the redox reaction kinetics.

We report the synthesis of a novel SnO2/MoO3/carbon nanotubes (CNTs) hybrid (denote as SMC) via hydrothermally treating aqueous SnCl4-Na2MoO4-CNTs suspension. The hydrolysis of SnCl4 promotes the precipitation of Na2MoO4, resulting in the simultaneous coprecipitation of the amorphous MoO3 and SnO2 nanoparticles which attach onto the CNTs (Note that no MoOx is produced in the absence of SnCl4). When used as anode materials for lithium ion batteries (LIBs), the as-prepared SMC hybrid delivers a high reversible capacities of 1032 and 887mAh/g after 50 cycles at current densities of 200 and 500mA/g, respectively, and still retains a reversible capacity of 496mAh/g even after 200 cycles at a higher rate of 2A/g, which shows much better lithium storage performance than that of the counterpart hybrid of SnO2/CNTs (denote as SC, with only 569mAh/g after 50 cycles at 200mA/g). The enhanced electrochemical performance of SMC can be attributed to a synergistic effect, namely, MoO3 not only confines SnO2 nanoparticles onto the CNTs but also brings additional lithium storage capacity, while the flexible conductive CNT networks facilitate the charge transfer and electrolyte diffusion.
