RESUMO

Nanozymes possess major advantages in catalysis and biosensing compared with natural nanozymes. In this study, the AuPt@BaTiO3 bimetallic alloy Schottky junction is prepared to act as oxidase mimetics, and its photo-piezoelectric effect is investigated. The synergy between the photo-piezoelectric effect and the local surface plasmon resonance enhances the directional migration and separation of photogenerated electrons, as well as hot electrons induced by the AuPt bimetallic alloy. This synergy significantly improves the oxidase-like activity. A GSH colorimetric detection platform is developed based on this fading principle. Leveraging the photo-piezoelectric effect allows for highly sensitive detection with a low detection limit (0.225 µM) and reduces the detection time from 10 min to 3 min. The high recovery rate (ranging from 99.91% to 101.8%) in actual serum detection suggests promising potential for practical applications. The development of bimetallic alloy heterojunctions presents new opportunities for creating efficient nanozymes.

Analyte-triggered nanoparticle (NP) assemblies in bulk colloidal suspension have been extensively utilized in various optical sensors. Nevertheless, the assembling process is still limited by the slow diffusion dynamics of NPs and the low concentration of analytes in trace detections, which hinders further improvement of the sensitivity and repeatability of the sensors. In this work, by functionalizing the gold NPs with specific ligands, we constructed a dual-mode optical sensing platform for multianalytes based on the plasmonic NP array at the liquid-liquid interface. Through emulsification, the NP diffusion kinetics are boosted for several orders, and the NPs are condensed from the bulk aqueous phase to the liquid-liquid interface as a plasmonic array. The as-formed metasurface generates major reflectance and surface-enhanced Raman scattering changes in response to analytes, providing two optical sensing modes. As prototypes, cysteine and glucose are selected as the target molecules, achieving the limit of detection as 193 ± 2 and 297 ± 12 pM, respectively.

Propyrisulfuron is a novel sulfonylurea herbicide used for controlling annual grass and broad-leaved weeds in fields, but its fates and behaviors in environment are still unknown, which are of utmost importance for environmental protection. To reduce its potential environmental risks in agricultural production, the hydrolysis kinetics, influence of 34 environmental factors including 12 microplastics (MPs), disposable face masks (DFMs) and its different parts, 6 fertilizers, 5 ions, 3 surfactants, a co-existed herbicide of florpyrauxifen-benzy, humic acid and biochar, and the effect of MPs and DFMs on its hydrolysis mechanisms were systematically investigated. The main hydrolysis products (HPs), possible mechanisms, toxicities and potential risks to aquatic organisms were studied. Propyrisulfuron hydrolysis was an acid catalytic pyrolysis, endothermic and spontaneous process driven by the reduction of activation enthalpy, and followed the first-order kinetics. All environmental factors can accelerate propyrisulfuron hydrolysis to varying degrees except humic acid, and different hydrolysis mechanisms occurred in the presence of MPs and DFMs. In addition, 10 possible HPs and 7 possible mechanisms were identified and proposed. ECOSAR prediction and ecotoxicity testing showed that acute toxicity of propyrisulfuron and its HPs for aquatic organisms were low, but may have high chronic toxicity and pose a potential threat to aquatic ecosystems. The investigations are significantly important for elucidating the environmental fates and behaviors of propyrisulfuron, assessing the risks in environmental protection, and further providing guidance for scientific application in agro-ecosystem.

Glutathione (GSH) is an essential antioxidant in the human body, but its detection is difficult due to the interference of complex components in serum. Herein, hollow double-layer Pt@CeO2 nanospheres were developed as oxidase mimetics, and the light-assisted oxidase mimetics effects were found. The oxidase activity was enhanced significantly by utilizing the synergistic effect of Schottky junction and the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) of Pt under UV light. A novel GSH colorimetric-fluorescent-SERS sensing platform was established, with the sensing performance notably boosted by using the light-assisted oxidase mimetics effects. This platform boasts an exceptionally low detection limit (LOD) of 0.084 µM, while the detection time was shortened from 10 min to just 2 min. The anti-interference detection with high recovery rate (96.84%-107.4 %) in real serum made it be promising for practical application.

Detecting heavy metals in seawater is challenging due to the high salinity and complex composition, which cause strong interference. To address this issue, we propose using a multistage energy barrier as an electrochemical driver to generate electrochemical responses that can resist interference. The Ni-based heterojunction foams with different types of barriers were fabricated to detect Cr(VI), and the effects of the energy barriers on the electrochemical response were studied. The single-stage barrier can effectively drive the electrochemical response, and the multistage barrier is even more powerful in improving sensing performance. A prototype Ni/NiO/CeO2/Au/PANI foam with multistage barriers achieved a high sensitivity and recovery rate (93.63-104.79%) in detecting seawater while resisting interference. The use of multistage barriers as a driver to resist electrochemical interference is a promising approach.

Camellia chekiangoleosa has a higher oleic acid content and a shorter reproductive cycle than typical oil tea plants. It was intensively sampled over six C. chekiangoleosa seed development stages. The content of fatty acids determined by GC showed that the accumulation of fatty acids gradually increased from the S1 to S5 stages, and the maximum concentration was reached in S5. Then, fatty acids declined slightly in S6. The main fatty acid component showed the same accumulation trend as the total fatty acids, except linolenic acid, which remained at a low level throughout seed developmental stages. Changes in the expression of fatty acid accumulation-related genes were monitored using second-generation and SMRT full-length transcriptome sequencing. Finally, 18.92 G accurate and reliable data were obtained. Differential expression analysis and weighted coexpression analysis revealed two "gene modules" significantly associated with oleic acid and linoleic acid contents, and the high expression of ENR, KAS I, and KAS II, which accumulate substrates for oleic acid synthesis, was thought to be responsible for the rapid accumulation of fatty acids in the early stage. The rapid increase in fatty acids in the second stage may be closely related to the synergy between the high expression of SAD and low expression of FAD2. In addition, many transcription factors, such as ERF, GRAS, GRF, MADS, MYB and WRKY, may be involved in the fatty acid synthesis. Our data provide a rich resource for further studies on the regulation of fatty acid synthesis in C. chekiangoleosa.

Flavonoid aglycones possess biological activities, such as antioxidant and antidiabetic activities compared to glycosides. Taxifolin, a flavonoid aglycones, is detected only in trace amounts in nature and is not easily observed. Therefore, in this study, to investigate the hair tonic and hair loss inhibitors effect of taxifolin, high content of taxifolin aglycone extract was prepared by enzymatic hydrolysis. Taxifolin effectively regulates the apoptosis of dermal papilla cells, which is associated with hair loss, based on its strong antioxidant activities. However, inhibition of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which is a major cause of male pattern hair loss, was significantly reduced with taxifolin treatment compared with minoxidil, as a positive control. It was also confirmed that a representative factor for promoting hair growth, IGF-1, was significantly increased, and that TGF-ß1, a representative biomarker for hair loss, was significantly reduced with taxifolin treatment. These results suggest that taxifolin from enzymatic hydrolysis of RM is a potential treatment for hair loss and a hair growth enhancer.

Herein, we present a method for the quantitative analysis of broflanilide residues in water, soil, and rice samples from a paddy field in Jiangxi Province, China. The quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, and safe (QuEChERS) method was optimized for the extraction and purification of broflanilide residues. Residual broflanilide concentrations in different matrices were then determined by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The calibration curve of broflanilide showed good linearity in all matrices for concentrations between 0.005 and 1 mg·L-1, with a correlation coefficient greater than 0.99. The matrix effect varied from -69% to -54%, indicating matrix suppression. The average recoveries ranged between 85.82% and 97.46%, with relative standard deviations of 3.29%-8.15%. The limits of detection ranged from 0.16 to 1.67 µg·kg-1, and the limits of quantification were in the range of 0.54 to 5.48 µg·kg-1. Dissipation dynamic tests indicated broflanilide half-lives of 0.46-2.46, 2.09-5.34, and 1.31-3.32 days in soil, water, and rice straw, respectively. Broflanilide was dissipated more rapidly in water than in soil and rice straw. More than 90% of broflanilide residues dissipated within 14 days. The final residues of broflanilide in rice were all below LOQ at harvest.

Sapium sebiferum contains a variety of organic acids, flavonoids and phenolic substances, which were linked with the functions of poisoning Oncomelania. Sapium sebiferum is a good plant material of inhibiting Oncomelania. This paper reviews the variety, resources and active ingredients of Sapium sebiferum, and the researches of Sapium sebiferum inhibiting Oncomelania, and forecasts the development of Sapium sebiferum as an inhibiting Oncomelania forest in order to provide the evidence for its penetrating research and development.
