RESUMO

Defect engineering in metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) has gained worldwide research traction, as it offers tools to tune the properties of MOFs. Herein, we report a novel 2-fold interpenetrated Bi-based MOF made of a tritopic flexible organic linker, followed by missing-linker defect engineering. This procedure creates a gradually augmented micro- and mesoporosity in the parent (originally nonporous) network. The resulting MOFs can tolerate a remarkable extent of linker vacancy (with absence of up to 60% of linkers per Bi node) created by altering the crystal-growth rate as a function of synthesis temperature and duration. Owing to the enhanced porosity and availability of the uncoordinated Lewis acidic Bi sites, the defect-engineered MOFs manifested improved surface areas, augmented CO2 and water vapor uptake, and catalytic activity. Parallel to this, the impact of defect engineering on the optoelectronic properties of these MOFs has also been studied, offering avenues for new applications.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Emerging evidence suggests that the gut microbiota is associated with various intracranial neoplastic diseases. It has been observed that alterations in the gut microbiota are present in gliomas, meningiomas, and pituitary neuroendocrine tumors (Pit-NETs). However, the correlation between gut microbiota and craniopharyngioma (CP), a rare embryonic malformation tumor in the sellar region, has not been previously mentioned. Consequently, this study aimed to investigate the gut microbiota composition and metabolic patterns in CP patients, with the goal of identifying potential therapeutic approaches. METHODS: We enrolled 15 medication-free and non-operated patients with CP and 15 healthy controls (HCs), conducting sequential metagenomic and metabolomic analyses on fecal samples to investigate changes in the gut microbiota of CP patients. RESULTS: The composition of gut microbiota in patients with CP compared to HCs show significant discrepancies at both the genus and species levels. The CP group exhibits greater species diversity. And the metabolic patterns between the two groups vary markedly. CONCLUSIONS: The gut microbiota composition and metabolic patterns in patients with CP differ significantly from the healthy population, presenting potential new therapeutic opportunities.

RESUMO

Ginkgo biloba L. (ginkgo) is a widely used medicinal plant around the world. Its leaves, which have been used as a traditional Chinese medicine, are rich in various bioactive components. However, most of the research and applications of ginkgo leaves have focused on terpene trilactones and flavonol glycosides, thereby overlooking the other active components. In this study, a lipophilic extract (GL) was isolated from ginkgo leaves. This extract is abundant in lipids and lipid-like molecules. Then, its effect and potential mechanism on glucose uptake and insulin resistance in C2C12 myotubes were investigated. The results showed that GL significantly enhanced the translocation of GLUT4 to the plasma membrane, which subsequently promoted glucose uptake. Meanwhile, it increased the phosphorylation of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) and its downstream targets. Both knockdown of AMPK with siRNA and inhibition with AMPK inhibitor compound C reversed these effects. Additionally, GL ameliorated palmitate-induced insulin resistance by enhancing insulin-stimulated glucose uptake, increasing the phosphorylation of protein kinase B (PKB/AKT), and restoring the translocation of GLUT4 from the cytoplasm to the membrane. However, pretreatment with compound C abolished these beneficial effects of GL. In conclusion, GL enhances basal glucose uptake in C2C12 myotubes and improves insulin sensitivity in palmitate-induced insulin resistant myotubes through the AMPK pathway.

RESUMO

Saffron, the dried stigma of Crocus sativus L., is a renowned spice and medicinal herb. During its production, a significant amount of floral residues, rich in bioactive compounds, are discarded as agricultural by-products. This study presents a novel approach to the sustainable utilization of these stigmaless floral residues (FRC) by optimizing the extraction and purification of their flavonoids, analyzing their chemical composition, and evaluating their effect on glucose uptake. The extraction of flavonoids from FRC was optimized using single-factor experiments and response surface methodology. The optimal conditions for extraction were an ethanol concentration of 67.7%, a temperature of 67.6 °C, a solid-to-liquid ratio of 1:30, an extraction time of 3 h, and two extractions. The crude extract obtained was then purified using macroporous resin HPD100, selected after comparing the adsorption and desorption characteristics of six different resins. The optimal purification parameters were an adsorption concentration of 40 mg/mL, a loading volume of 7 bed volumes (BV) at a flow rate of 3 BV/h, and 80% ethanol as the eluent with a volume of 4 BV. The resulting flavonoid-enriched extract (FFRC) had an experimental yield of 8.67% ± 0.01 and a flavonoid content of 128.30 ± 4.64 mg/g. The main flavonoids in FFRC were identified as kaempferol glycosides, isorhamnetin glycosides, and quercetin glycosides. Moreover, FFRC significantly stimulated glucose consumption and uptake in C2C12 myotubes, suggesting its potential utility as a natural hypoglycemic agent. This study contributes to the sustainable and value-added utilization of agricultural resources by providing data for the exploitation and application of flavonoids from saffron by-products.

RESUMO

Interest in socioeconomic differences in academic motivation has been longstanding. However, previous research has often treated both low- and high-SES students as homogenous groups. This study aims to address this gap by investigating the developmental trajectory profiles of mathematics motivation during early adolescence, with a focus on variations within and across SES groups. Multigroup latent class growth analysis was used on a sample of 3718 early adolescents in China (initial Mage was 9.40 ± 0.52 years; 48.0% girls) across 2 years from grades 4 through 6. The analysis identified three distinct self-determined mathematics motivation trajectory profiles within each SES group: a good-quality profile (i.e., initially high autonomous but low controlled), a high-quantity profile (i.e., initially high both autonomous and controlled), and a low-quantity profile (i.e., initially low both autonomous and controlled). A greater proportion of low-SES students were observed within the low-quantity profile than within the good-quality profile. The study found that the failure-is-enhancing view was a protective factor against two relatively maladaptive motivational trajectory profiles (i.e., high-quantity profile and low-quantity profile), irrespective of socioeconomic background. These findings emphasize the importance of implementing motivational interventions for early adolescents that consider both structural factors (e.g., socioeconomic backgrounds) and psychological factors (e.g., failure beliefs), to foster students' academic development.

RESUMO

Early adolescence is a critical period for the development of children's intelligence mindsets, which play a significant role in academic achievement. However, existing research predominantly employs variable-centered approaches, which fail to capture individual differences in mindset-achievement relations. This research addresses this gap by adopting a longitudinal person-centered approach to explore the joint developmental trajectories of growth and fixed mindsets among early adolescents. It further explores how these trajectories relate to changes in academic achievement (i.e., the mean of standardized mathematics and Chinese achievement test scores) over 2 years, accounting for intelligence and sociodemographic factors such as age, sex, and family SES. In two five-wave longitudinal studies with 748 (Mage = 10.23 years, SD = 0.30; 49% girls at T1) and 3258 (Mage = 10.34 years, SD = 0.37; 49% girls at T1) Chinese elementary school students from grades 4 to 6, four distinct mindset trajectory profiles were identified: Growth (initially high growth but low fixed mindsets), Fixed (initially high fixed but low growth mindsets), Moderate (initially moderate levels in both mindsets), and Both-High (initially high levels in both mindsets). Analysis across both studies revealed that students in the Growth trajectory profile exhibited the most significant improvements in academic achievement 2 years later. Conversely, students in the Both-High trajectory profile experienced the least favorable academic outcomes. These findings highlight the importance of recognizing individual differences in mindset trajectories and their potential impact on academic outcomes. The current research underscores the need for educational interventions that are tailored to different mindset profiles to optimize student development and achievement.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: This study aimed to investigate the effects of different volumes of ovarian tissue transplantation on the reproductive endocrine function of rats after oophorectomy. METHODS: Female rats were selected to establish a castration model and then underwent different volumes of ovarian tissue transplantation. Group I served as the sham operation group. The transplantation group was divided into five subgroups based on the calculated ratio of ovarian weight to body weight in normal female rats, δ = (2.52 ± 0.17) ×10-4: Group II: transplanted ovarian volume was δ; Group III: 0.75δ; Group IV: 0.5δ; Group V: 0.25δ; Group VI: without ovarian transplantation. The post-transplant oestrous cycle recovery was observed, and blood samples were collected every 2 weeks to measure serum hormone levels. Histological evaluation was performed at the end of the observation period. RESULTS: Rats in Group V exhibited disrupted oestrous cycles after transplantation, which were significantly longer than those in Group I. Rats in Groups II, III, and IV showed no cyclic changes. At 6 weeks post-transplantation, rats in Group V had lower E2 and AMH levels and higher FSH levels compared to Group I. The uterine wet weight and the number of normal follicles in Group V were significantly lower than those in Group I, but the number of atretic follicles was higher than in Group I. CONCLUSION: The larger ovarian tissue transplantation resulted in a faster recovery with a higher survival rate of the uterus and normal follicles, compared to smaller ovarian tissue transplantation.

With advancements in science and technology, ovarian transplantation techniques have become increasingly mature. However, there are still many questions that need to be addressed. For instance, the large size of the transplanted ovarian tissues may cause over-recruitment of the primordial follicles. When the transplanted ovarian tissue is too small, it can only exert limited functionality and may not meet the patient's needs. This study aimed to investigate the effects of different volumes of ovarian tissue transplantation on the reproductive endocrine function in rats after oophorectomy, and to provide a theoretical basis for determining the minimum effective volume of heterotopic ovarian tissue transplantation.

RESUMO

Although chitooligosaccharide (COS) has attracted the attention of some researchers due to its good solubility and broad-spectrum antibacterial activity, our study found that Staphylococcus aureus treated with low concentration of COS actively entered the viable-but-nonculturable (VBNC) state to resist this environmental stress. In this study, the transcriptome of VBNC-state S. aureus after COS treatment was analyzed by RNA-sequencing. Compared with the control group, pathway enrichment analysis showed that COS-treated S. aureus adopted a series of adaptive adjustment strategies for survival, including significant up-regulation of the differential genes' expression of such as ABC transporters (metI, tagG), Sec dependent transport pathway (secDF), peptidoglycan synthesis pathway (murG) and alteration of their physiological metabolic patterns, where ATP depletion played a key role in the formation of the VBNC-state S. aureus. Further, by using oxidative phosphorylation uncoupling agent to adjust the initial level of ATP in S. aureus, it was found that the reduction of intracellular ATP level could accelerate the formation of VBNC state. Overall, our results preliminarily elucidated the molecular mechanism of COS inducing the VBNC-state S. aureus. It provided an important theoretical reference for further achieving effective bacterial inactivation by COS.

RESUMO

Background: Transseptal puncture (TSP) is a crucial technique for catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation (AF). Although intracardiac echo (ICE) facilitates a safe and accurate TSP, it is not widely used in developing countries because of the expense. This study evaluated the efficiency and safety of a novel cardiac multidetector computed tomography (MDCT)-guided TSP during AF catheter ablation. Methods: The study consisted of two cohorts. In the index cohort, TSP procedure was performed under the guidance of ICE, and we recorded the angulation of right anterior oblique of X-ray projection. In the validation cohort, we compared the efficiency and safety of TSP guided by MDCT-calculated angulation with propensity-score-matched patients who underwent TSP guided by ICE. Results: We included 50 patients in the index cohort, and the mean angles of interatrial septum (IAS) measured from MDCT and ICE were 34.8 ± 6.3 and 35.1 ± 6.5, respectively. In the validation cohort, 376 patients were enrolled in the MDCT-guided group and ICE-guided group. Both groups had 1 case of cardiac tamponade. The mean axial plane angle was 35.46 ± 6.17 degrees, which was not influenced by age, gender, BMI, and LA size, while a moderate positive linear correlation between EF and the axial plane angle (R 2 = 0.14, p = .006). Conclusion: Cardiac MDCT can provide a clear vision of IAS orientation, and provide the appropriate RAO angle and height for TSP. The efficiency and safety of our MDCT-guided TSP were comparable to ICE-guided TSP, which may serve as an alternative method for TSP with ICE unavailable.

RESUMO

As an effective non-thermal sterilization method, ultrasound remains at the level of passive bacterial death despite the initial understanding of its sterilization mechanism. Here, we present the perspective that bacteria can choose to actively enter an apoptosis-like death state in response to external ultrasonic stress. In this study, Vibrio parahaemolyticus exhibited apoptotic markers such as phosphatidylserine ectropion and activated caspases when subjected to ultrasound stress. Additionally, the accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and enhanced calcium signaling were observed. Further transcriptomic analysis was conducted to investigate the regulatory mechanism of the SOS response in Vibrio parahaemolyticus during an apoptosis-like state. The results showed that the genes encoding the citrate cycle were down-regulated in Vibrio parahaemolyticus cells adapted to ultrasonic stress, leading to an apoptosis-like state and a decrease in production capacity and ability to catabolize carbon dioxide. Furthermore, the level of oxidized glutathione increased, suggesting that the bacteria were engaged in various anti-oxidative stress responses, ultimately leading to apoptosis. Moreover, the ultrasound field activated the regulatory factor CsrA, which facilitates stress survival as cells transition from rapid growth to an apoptotic state through a stringent response and catabolic inhibition system. Parallel reaction monitoring (PRM) revealed that the expression of certain key SOS proteins in Vibrio parahaemolyticus was up-regulated following ultrasound treatment, resulting in a gradual adaptation of the cells to external stress and ultimately leading to active cell death. In conclusion, the biological lethal effect of ultrasound treatment is not solely a mechanical cell necrosis process as traditionally viewed, but also a programmed cell death process regulated by cellular adaptation. This enriched the biological effect pathway of ultrasound sterilization.

RESUMO

As one of endogenous reactive oxygen species (ROS), peroxynitrite (ONOO-) performs various functions in both pathological and physiological mechanisms. In this work, an optical and near-infrared (NIR) fluorescent probe (NX), which based on 3-dihydro-1H-xanthene and 2-dicyanomethylene-3-cyano-4,5,5-trimethyl-2,5-dihydrofuran (TCF) group was designed and prepared to detect ONOO-. This probe revealed an obvious optical and a fluorescent response when ONOO- was present and it exhibited higher selectivity over other ROS. Especially, the dual NIR fluorescence changes at 660 and 800 nm allowed quantitative detection of ONOO- in the range of 15-40 µM, and the detection limit was 82 nM. Finally, the probe was effectively employed to visualize exogenous and endogenous ONOO- in HepG2 cells and zebrafish, respectively. All the results indicated the dual NIR-channel probe could serve as a potent detecting tools in studying ONOO- in vitro and in vivo.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Insulin resistance (IR) is involved in the development of erectile dysfunction (ED). The purpose of this study was to assess the correlation between the metabolic score for IR (METS-IR) index and risk of erectile dysfunction in US adults. METHODS: This study selected individuals from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). Logistic regression analysis, subgroup analysis, and dose-response curve analysis were carried out to assess the relationship between the METS-IR index and ED prevalence. RESULTS: This study ultimately included 1759 participants aged ≥ 20 years, of whom 512 self-reported a history of ED. After adjusting for all confounders, each unit increase in METS-IR index was associated with a 3% increase in erectile dysfunction prevalence (OR = 1.03, 95% CI: 1.01-1.04). In almost all subgroups, an increased METS-IR index was associated with a higher prevalence of ED. The dose-response curve displayed a positive non-linear connection between METS-IR value and the prevalence of ED. CONCLUSION: The study found a positive association between the METS-IR index and ED. METS-IR is useful as a simplified IR evaluation index for early identification of people with high risk of ED.

RESUMO

Autologous arteriovenous fistula (AVF) is a commonly used vascular access (VA) for hemodialysis, and hemodynamic changes are one of the main factors for its failure. To explore the effect of geometry on the hemodynamics in the AVF, a modified model is built with a gradual and smooth turn at the anastomosis and is compared with the traditional model, which has an abrupt sharp turn at the anastomisis. Transient computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations were performed for the comparison and analysis of the hemodynamic fields of the two models at different stages of the pulse cycle. The results showed that the low shear stress region and high oscillatory shear stress region in the modified AVF model coincided with regions of intimal hyperplasia that have been identified by previous studies. A comparison with the blood flow velocities measured in vivo was performed, and the error between the simulation results and the medical data was reduced by 22% in the modified model, which verifies the rationality and utility of the modified model.

RESUMO

Microbial necromass, an important and stable source of soil organic carbon (SOC), is an important index to evaluate the contribution of microorganisms to SOC transformation and accumulation. It is not clear about the accumulation of microbial necromass in deep soil layer and its contribution to SOC during the restoration process of Caragana korshinskii forests. Combined with the biomarker method, we investigated the carbon contents of bacte-rial, fungal, and microbial necromass in the soil profiles (0-100 cm) of C. korshinskii forests in 16, 28, and 38 years of restoration, with natural grassland as control. We further examined the contribution of microbial necromass to soil organic carbon. The results showed that: 1) Along the soil profile (0-100 cm), the contents of fungal necromass carbon (FNC), bacterial necromass carbon (BNC), and microbial necromass carbon (MNC) significantly decreased with increasing soil depth in natural grassland and C. korshinskii forests. Except for the significant decrease in FNC/SOC, BNC/SOC, and MNC/SOC in the soil of C. korshinskii forests in 38 years of restoration, FNC/SOC and MNC/SOC generally showed an increasing trend followed by a decreasing trend in other plots, while BNC/SOC gradually decreased. 2) With the increases of restoration years, the contents of FNC, BNC, and MNC significantly decreased in C. korshinskii forests. FNC/SOC and MNC/SOC showed an overall increasing trend followed by a decreasing trend, while BNC/SOC gradually decreased. 3) The average contribution of microbial necromass carbon to SOC was highest in C. korshinskii forests in 28 years of restoration (35.0%), followed by C. korshinskii forests in 16 years of restoration (33.5%), natural grassland (31.0%), and C. korshinskii forests in 38 years of restoration (28.6%). In conclusion, when the restoration years of C. korshinskii forests are 16, the contents of microbial necromass carbon and their contributions to SOC are higher compared to natural grassland, which are beneficial for SOC sequestration.

RESUMO

Estrogen-induced intrahepatic cholestasis (IHC) is a mild but potentially serious risk and urges for new therapeutic targets and effective treatment. Our previous study demonstrated that RORγt and CXCR3 signaling pathway of invariant natural killer T (iNKT) 17 cells play pathogenic roles in 17α-ethinylestradiol (EE)-induced IHC. Ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) and 18ß-glycyrrhetinic acid (GA) present a protective effect on IHC partially due to their immunomodulatory properties. Hence in present study, we aim to investigate the effectiveness of UDCA and 18ß-GA in vitro and verify the accessibility of the above targets. Biochemical index measurement indicated that UDCA and 18ß-GA presented efficacy to alleviate EE-induced cholestatic cytotoxicity. Both UDCA and 18ß-GA exhibited suppression on the CXCL9/10-CXCR3 axis, and significantly restrained the expression of RORγt in vitro. In conclusion, our observations provide new therapeutic targets of UDCA and 18ß-GA, and 18ß-GA as an alternative treatment for EE-induced cholestasis.

RESUMO

This study explores the potential of combining periodic mesoporous organosilicas (PMOs) with a fluorescent dye to develop a ratiometric thermometry system with enhanced stability, sensitivity, and biocompatibility. PMOs, ordered porous materials known for their stability and versatility, serve as an ideal platform. Curcumin, a natural polyphenol and fluorescent dye, is incorporated into PMOs to develop curcumin-functionalized PMOs (C-PMO) and curcumin-pyrazole-functionalized PMOs (CP-PMO) via hydrolysis and co-condensation. These PMOs exhibit temperature-dependent fluorescence properties. The next step involves encapsulating rhodamine B (RhB) dye within the PMO pores to create dual-emitting PMO@dye nanocomposites, followed by a lipid bilayer (LB) coating to enhance biocompatibility and dye retention. Remarkably, within the physiological temperature range, C-PMO@RhB@LB and CP-PMO@RhB@LB demonstrate noteworthy maximum relative sensitivity (Sr) values of up to 1.69 and 2.60% K-1, respectively. This approach offers versatile means to create various ratiometric thermometers by incorporating different fluorescent dyes, holding promise for future temperature sensing applications.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: A complex interaction and mutual influence exists among landscapes, cultures, and landraces, with rice culture being a typical embodiment of this relationship. The conservation of landraces operates alongside preserving traditional practices. The Xishuangbanna region stands out as a hub for the genetic diversity of landraces, boasting rich genetic resources. Despite the diverse rice resources in this region, a comprehensive and systematic study has not been undertaken. METHODS: From October to November 2023, we collected rice landraces under the on-farm conservation in 18 townships including Menghai, Mengla and Jinghong in Xishuangbanna. Employing semi-structured interviews and various methods, we investigated factors influencing the preservation and loss of rice landraces in the region. Statistical analysis was applied to the agronomic traits of collected local rice, encompassing indica or japonica, glutinous or non-glutinous, grain shape, and hull color as second category traits. The second category included quantitative traits like thousand grain weight and grain length. Rice diversity among different regions, traits, and ethnic groups was assessed using the Shannon-Wiener index. Additionally, clustering analysis via the UPGMA method depicted the distribution characteristics of the resources. RESULTS: A total of 70 rice landraces were collected in the Xishuangbanna region, each exhibiting distinct characteristics. Differences were observed across regions, trait, naming, and ethnic groups. Diversity analysis revealed that Mengla had the highest diversity, followed by Menghai, while Jinghong exhibited the lowest diversity. The second category of traits displayed broader diversity than the first, with the Dai people's glutinous rice showcasing greater diversity than other ethnic groups. Cluster analysis categorized the 70 samples into seven groups at a genetic distance of 1.15. Ethnobotanical interviews emphasized the rapid loss of rice landraces resources in Xishuangbanna, with indigenous ethnic cultures playing a vital role in the conservation of rice landraces. Dai traditions, in particular, played a crucial role in protecting glutinous rice resources, showcasing a mutual dependence between Dai culture and glutinous rice. CONCLUSIONS: The rich natural environment and diverse ethnic cultures in Xishuangbanna have given rise to various rice landraces. The Dai, primary cultivators of glutinous rice with higher diversity, intertwine their traditional ethnic culture with the conservation of glutinous rice resources. At the same time, the preserving glutinous rice resources promotes the inheritance of Dai ethnic culture. However, rice landraces are facing the risk of loss. Hence, collecting and documenting rice landraces is crucial. Encourage local communities to sustain and expand their cultivation, promoting on-farm conservation. These measures contribute valuable germplasm and genes for rice breeding and serve as a means of cultural preservation.

RESUMO

The conventional agar extraction method has drawbacks such as high energy consumption, low yield, poor quality, and possible residual harmful factors, which greatly limit its application in high-end fields such as biomedicine and high-end materials. This work explored a new freezing-thawing-high-temperature coupling technique for agar extraction. It increased the yield and the strength of agar by 10.6 % and 13.7 %, respectively, as compared to direct high-temperature extraction of agar (HA). The greater molecular weight and lower sulfate content of agar obtained from freeze-thaw cycles combined with high temperature extraction (FA) may be attributed to the desulfurization effect caused by freeze-thaw cycles and the preservation of the molecular chain structure. The reduction in sulfate content decreases the steric hindrance resistance of the polysaccharide chains, enhances their interactions, and promotes the regularity and density of the agar structure, while also improving its water retention and thermal stability. In conclusion, this research can offer a theoretical basis and guidance for the eco-friendly extraction of agar with improved agar characteristics and expended its applications.

RESUMO

The droplet digital Polymerase Chain Reaction (ddPCR) has garnered recognition for its distinctive attribute of absolute quantification. And it has found practical utility in age prediction through DNA methylation profiles. However, a prevalent limitation in current ddPCR methodologies is the restricted capacity to detect only two targets concurrently in most instruments, leading to high costs, sample wastage, and labor-intensive procedures. To address the limitations, a novel high-throughput ddPCR system allowing for the simultaneous detection of eight targets was developed. Through the implementation of a new 8-plex ddPCR assay, coupled with comprehensive linear regression analyses involving primers and probes ratios, diverse inputs of single CpG sites with distinct primers and probes, and varying plex assay configurations, stable DNA methylation values for four CpGs and stable measurement precisions for distinct multiplex systems were consistently observed. These findings pave the way for advancing the field of chemistry science by enabling more efficient and cost-effective methods. Furthermore, the comparative validation of ddPCR and SNaPshot demonstrated a remarkable concordance in results, and the system also displayed well in the field of various aspects, including species specificity, DNA input, and aged samples. In this study, the recommended input of bisulfite-converted DNA was determined to be 10-50 ng due to the double-positive droplets. Notably, the Pearson correlation coefficient squared values of four CpGs were 0.4878 (ASPA), 0.4832 (IGSF1), 0.6881 (COL1A1), and 0.6475 (MEIS1-AS3). And the testing set exhibited a mean absolute error of 4.5923 years, indicating the robustness and accuracy of the age-predictive model.
