RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To elaborate a terminological subset for the International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP®) for patients with acute myocardial infarction using the Activities of Living Model. METHOD: A methodological study which followed the guidelines of the International Nursing Council and was based on theoretical framework of the Activities of Living Model for its elaboration. Content validation was performed by 22 nursing specialists. RESULTS: Twenty-two (22) diagnoses and 22 nursing outcomes were elaborated. Of these, 17 nursing diagnosis statements and 17 nursing outcome statements presented Content Validity Index (CVI) ≥ 0.80. Of the 113 elaborated nursing interventions, 42 reached a CVI ≥ 0.80, and 51 interventions made up the terminological subset after the expert suggestions. CONCLUSION: The ICNP® was suitable for use with the Activities of Living Model, having compatible terms with those used in clinical nursing practice, and valid for construction of the terminological subset for patients with acute myocardial infarction and most likely to facilitate clinical nursing judgment.

RESUMO

A cross-sectional, epidemiological study aimed to estimate the prevalence of burden among family caregivers of impaired elderly residents in the city of João Pessoa, and to identify associations between the mean burden and social and demographic characteristics of the elderly and the caregivers. A total number of 240 elderly residents in a previously drawn census tract participated in this research. The sample was composed of 52 elderly and their caregivers. For data collection, a questionnaire was applied with questions on social and demographic characteristics of elderly and caregivers, and the Burden Interview Scale was used. Results showed a high prevalence of burden among caregivers (84.6%), in which a statistically significant association was found with the following characteristics: retired elderly, elderly as head of family, spousal caregivers, and caregivers with less education. The findings of this study may contribute to the development of activities focused on formal and emotional support for the caregivers.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To map the nursing interventions of the Terminology Subset for elderly women with HIV/AIDS-related vulnerabilities in the International Classification for Nursing Practice 2019/2020, according to the guidelines of the ABNT Standard ISO/TR 12.300/2016. METHOD: This is a descriptive exploratory study of terminological mapping, in which interventions underwent the technique of validation by consensus and human mapping. Interventions reaching 100% agreement regarding practical usefulness and classification in the Theory of Nursing Systems were validated. Finally, human mapping was performed with a single purpose and oriented from source concepts to target concepts. RESULTS: A total of 218 interventions were validated. Following mapping, the numbers were updated due to the cardinality relationship, resulting in 221 interventions, 170 of which are not, and 51 are included in the International Classification for Nursing Practice 2019/2020. CONCLUSION: Mapping of the Terminological Subset of the International Classification for Nursing Practice 2019/2020 culminated in the review and update of the proposed terminology, and confirmed the usefulness of the classification system through pre-coordinated concepts.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To construct and validate nursing diagnoses statements of the International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP®) for the person with diabetic foot ulcer being followed up in primary health care. METHOD: This is a methodological study structured in four stages: identification of terms; cross-mapping of identified terms with ICNP terms®, version 2019/2020; construction of nursing diagnoses statements and organization with Orem's Theory of Self-care; and content validation by expert nurses working in primary care, with those with Content Validity Index (CVI) ≥ 0.80 being considered valid. RESULTS: Eighty-one diagnostic statements were constructed, five of which were positive, 67 negative, and nine risky. Of these, 58 were included in ICNP® and 23 were not, 51% of which were categorized as self-care requirements related to health changes. CONCLUSION: ICNP® subsidized the construction of a technical product, which can be consulted and used by nurses and will allow the strengthening of the standardization of a specific language in the context of care for people with diabetic foot ulcers in primary health care.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: to analyze the concept of cardiovascular risk to support nursing practice. METHODS: this is an analysis to define the concept of cardiovascular risk, through the use of eight steps of Walker's and Avant's framework, using a literature review in indexed scientific journals. RESULTS: cardiovascular risk is defined in a broad and original way as a context of health and nursing care that makes it possible to identify modifiable (cardiometabolic, behavioral, psychosocial, cultural and occupational) and non-modifiable (biological) risk factors for cardiovascular diseases that act as early and interrelated markers, of multiple and heterogeneous etiology, predisposing to cardiovascular vulnerability. CONCLUSIONS: with the analysis and definition of the concept of cardiovascular risk, we realized that it will be possible to base nursing practice, with implications in clinical practice for identifying and reducing risk factors for cardiovascular diseases, with nursing relevance in the care of these subjects.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: to describe a guideline for the use of the Delphi method to evaluate nursing theories, from the perspective of internal validation. METHOD: a methodological study, targeted at the development of a guideline for the use of the Delphi method in the evaluation of nursing theories. RESULTS: the Delphi method, principles of collective wisdom and levels of proficiency are used in the production of a guideline for organizing, searching, selecting and coordinating the activities of theoretical evaluators in teams. It distinguishes three phases for the theoretical evaluation process: Preparatory Phase (PP); Intermediate Phase (IP) and Theory Evaluation (TE) phase, incorporating Delphi-type selection procedures; search, selection and classification of judges/evaluators for the theory; definition of criteria for carrying out rounds and maintenance or removal of units of the theory evaluated. CONCLUSION: the developed guideline was able to adapt the elements of the Delphi method as a favorable strategy for the internal validation of nursing theories.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: to build a term database relevant to nursing practice in the context of COVID-19 infections. METHODS: this is a methodological, documentary study, carried out from March to June 2020 at ICNP®/ Universidade Federal da Paraíba center, considered a reference for research and dissemination of ICNP® in Brazil. The findings were collected in databases and analyzed using the PorOnto tool, the consensus technique and the mapping of terms with ICNP®, version 2019/2020. RESULTS: 1,134 relevant terms were identified in literature. When submitted to the mapping technique with the terms of ICNP® Seven Axis Model, it resulted in 531 constant terms and 603 nonconstant terms in this classification. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: It is proven that nursing practice terms, even in a specific context, are present in the literature and are representative in ICNP®, which will enable the future development of a terminological subset in the context of coronavirus infections.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: to discuss the paths taken by Brazilian Nursing in the development of terminological subsets of the International Classification for Nursing Practice. METHOD: documentary research, carried out in master's dissertations and doctoral theses, which developed terminological subsets, available at the Bank of Doctoral Theses and Master's Dissertations of the Under-graduation Personnel Improvement Coordination. The variables were analyzed were institution, year; academic level, type of health service, methodological approach, clientele, theoretical reference, validation of terms, cross mapping, modeling of new concepts, validation of statements, method used for elaboration, term collection, finalization and dissemination. RESULTS: 124 doctoral theses and master's dissertations were found, 91 were excluded and 33 were included, 23 (69.70%) of which were master's dissertations, with the highest production in 2014 (n=10; 30.30%), with emphasis on the Northeast (36.36%); the 'Primary Care' scenario, with six studies (18.18%); and the predominant clientele was cancer patients. As for the methodological characteristics, in 96% of the studies, the quantitative approach was used; in 2%, a qualitative approach; and 2% associated the quantitative and qualitative approaches. As for the type of study, 60% were methodological and 24% descriptive-exploratory, with the Horta model being the most used (36%). CONCLUSION: the paths are successful, yet still permeated by weaknesses in the validations and potentialities to standardize the language.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: to analyze the psychometric properties of the adapted version of Bakas Caregiving Outcome Scale for Brazilian Portuguese. METHOD: this is a cross-sectional methodological study conducted with 151 informal caregivers of people with cerebral vascular accident sequelae enrolled in Family Health Units. To assess reliability, Cronbach's alpha was used. Construct validity was verified through exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and correlation with measures of instruments that evaluate correlated constructs. RESULTS: Cronbach's alpha for the total BCOS score was 0.89. Factor and exploratory analysis generated a one-factor structure, which was confirmed by confirmatory factor analysis. Construct validity was supported by the high positive correlations with Negative Affect (r = 0.51) and Negative Experience (r = 0.47) of the Well-being Scale and the Depression Anxiety and Stress Scale -21 (r = 0.53) and negative correlations with Positive Affect (r =-0.47) and Positive Experience (r = -0.17) of the Well-being scale. CONCLUSION: Bakas Caregiving Outcome Scale shows evidence of satisfactory reliability and validity in family caregivers of cerebral vascular accident survivors.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: to evaluate the burden and its relationship with the sociodemographic characteristics of caregivers of people with sequelae of stroke. METHODS: a cross-sectional, exploratory, and quantitative study was conducted with 151 caregivers of people with sequelae of stroke, through home interviews between September and December 2017. RESULTS: there was a general mean of low burden. The items that indicated the worst changes were: "My time for social activities with friends," "My time for family activities," "My ability to cope with stress," and "My physical functioning." There was an association of burden with the female sex and with caregivers who have been assisting for longer. CONCLUSIONS: the results allow us to reflect on the need to create a policy aimed at family caregivers to reduce the impact of care delivery.
