RESUMO

Hair cells are mechanosensors for the perception of sound, acceleration, and fluid motion. Mechanotransduction channels in hair cells are gated by tip links, which connect the stereocilia of a hair cell in the direction of their mechanical sensitivity. The molecular constituents of the mechanotransduction channels of hair cells are not known. Here, we show that mechanotransduction is impaired in mice lacking the tetraspan TMHS. TMHS binds to the tip-link component PCDH15 and regulates tip-link assembly, a process that is disrupted by deafness-causing Tmhs mutations. TMHS also regulates transducer channel conductance and is required for fast channel adaptation. TMHS therefore resembles other ion channel regulatory subunits such as the transmembrane alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole propionic acid (AMPA) receptor regulatory proteins (TARPs) of AMPA receptors that facilitate channel transport and regulate the properties of pore-forming channel subunits. We conclude that TMHS is an integral component of the hair cell's mechanotransduction machinery that functionally couples PCDH15 to the transduction channel.

BACKGROUND: Factor XIII plays a key role within the coagulation cascade. OBJECTIVE: We aimed to investigate the relevance of factor XIII activity on the outcome of patients with gastrointestinal bleedings. METHODS: In this retrospective, single-center study patients with gastrointestinal bleeding and measurement of factor XIII activity were included. The primary endpoint was the number of red blood cell transfusions in patients with reduced factor XIII activity (< 70%) compared to patients with normal activity. Additionally, the influence of factor XIII substitution was assessed. RESULTS: Ninety-seven patients (median age: 64 [IQR 55, 77] years, 31 (32%) females) were included in the analysis. Fifty-six (58%) patients suffered from an upper gastrointestinal bleeding. 66 (68%) patients had a factor XIII activity < 70% and 24 (36%) of those received factor XIII substitution. Patients with reduced FXIII activity needed significantly more red blood cell transfusions than patients with normal activity (9 [5, 12] vs. 4 [1, 8], p < 0.001). Patients receiving factor XIII substitution showed a trend toward a decreased need for transfusions after substitution (0 [0, 5] vs. 3 [1, 6], p = 0.066). Factor XIII activity correlated negatively with the INR (rs = -0.24, p = 0.018) and positively with hemoglobin levels (rs = 0.28, p = 0.006) and with thrombocyte counts (rs = 0.30, p = 0.003). CONCLUSION: The present study shows an association of factor XIII activity with the requirement of blood transfusions in patients with gastrointestinal bleedings and indicates a potential benefit of factor XIII substitution. Factor XIII activity seems to be dependent from the amount of blood loss and the global coagulation parameters.

Understanding the dynamic change in abundance of both fecal and opportunistic waterborne pathogens in urban surface water under different abiotic and biotic factors helps the prediction of microbiological water quality and protection of public health during recreational activities, such as swimming. However, a comprehensive understanding of the interaction among various factors on pathogen behavior in surface water is missing. In this study, the effect of salinity, light, and temperature and the presence of indigenous microbiota, on the decay/persistence of Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa in Rhine River water were tested during 7 days of incubation with varying salinity (0.4, 5.4, 9.4, and 15.4 ppt), with light under a light/dark regime (light/dark) and without light (dark), temperature (3, 12, and 20 °C), and presence/absence of indigenous microbiota. The results demonstrated that light, indigenous microbiota, and temperature significantly impacted the decay of E. coli. Moreover, a significant (p<0.01) four-factor interactive impact of these four environmental conditions on E. coli decay was observed. However, for P. aeruginosa, temperature and indigenous microbiota were two determinate factors on the decay or growth. A significant three-factor interactive impact between indigenous microbiota, temperature, and salinity (p<0.01); indigenous microbiota, light, and temperature (p<0.01); and light, temperature, and salinity (p<0.05) on the decay of P. aeruginosa was found. Due to these interactive effects, caution should be taken when predicting decay/persistence of E. coli and P. aeruginosa in surface water based on a single environmental condition. In addition, the different response of E. coli and P. aeruginosa to the environmental conditions highlights that E. coli monitoring alone underestimates health risks of surface water by non-fecal opportunistic pathogens, such as P. aeruginosa. KEY POINTS: Abiotic and biotic factors interactively affect decay of E. coli and P. aeruginosa E.coli and P.aeruginosa behave significantly different under the given conditions Only E. coli as an indicator underestimates the microbiological water quality.

The conserved multiple PDZ-domain containing protein PATJ stabilizes the Crumbs-Pals1 complex to regulate apical-basal polarity and tight junction formation in epithelial cells. However, the molecular mechanism of PATJ's function in these processes is still unclear. In this study, we demonstrate that knockout of PATJ in epithelial cells results in tight junction defects as well as in a disturbed apical-basal polarity and impaired lumen formation in three-dimensional cyst assays. Mechanistically, we found PATJ to associate with and inhibit histone deacetylase 7 (HDAC7). Inhibition or downregulation of HDAC7 restores polarity and lumen formation. Gene expression analysis of PATJ-deficient cells revealed an impaired expression of genes involved in cell junction assembly and membrane organization, which is rescued by the downregulation of HDAC7. Notably, the function of PATJ regulating HDAC7-dependent cilia formation does not depend on its canonical interaction partner, Pals1, indicating a new role of PATJ, which is distinct from its function in the Crumbs complex. By contrast, polarity and lumen phenotypes observed in Pals1- and PATJ-deficient epithelial cells can be rescued by inhibition of HDAC7, suggesting that the main function of this polarity complex in this process is to modulate the transcriptional profile of epithelial cells by inhibiting HDAC7.

BACKGROUND: A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled phase 2b trial of the tumor lysate, particle-loaded, dendritic cell (TLPLDC) vaccine was conducted in patients with resected stage III/IV melanoma. Dendritic cells (DCs) were harvested with and without granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF). This analysis investigates differences in clinical outcomes and RNA gene expression between DC harvest methods. METHODS: The TLPLDC vaccine is created by loading autologous tumor lysate into yeast cell wall particles (YCWPs) and exposing them to phagocytosis by DCs. For DC harvest, patients had a direct blood draw or were pretreated with G-CSF before blood draw. Patients were randomized 2:1 to receive TLPLDC or placebo. Differences in disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) were evaluated. RNA-seq analysis was performed on the total RNA of TLPLDC + G and TLPLDC vaccines to compare gene expression between groups. RESULTS: 144 patients were randomized: 103 TLPLDC (47 TLPLDC/56 TLPLDC + G) and 41 placebo (19 placebo/22 placebo + G). Median follow-up was 27.0 months. Both 36-month DFS (55.8% vs. 24.4% vs. 30.0%, p = 0.010) and OS (94.2% vs. 69.8% vs. 70.9%, p = 0.024) were improved in TLPLDC compared to TLPLDC + G or placebo, respectively. When compared to TLPLDC + G vaccine, RNA-seq from TLPLDC vaccine showed upregulation of genes associated with DC maturation and downregulation of genes associated with DC suppression or immaturity. CONCLUSIONS: Patients receiving TLPLDC vaccine without G-CSF had improved OS and DFS. Outcomes remained similar between patients receiving TLPLDC + G and placebo. Direct DC harvest without G-CSF had higher expression of genes linked to DC maturation, likely improving clinical efficacy.

Nodding syndrome (NS) is a poorly understood form of childhood-onset epilepsy that is characterized by the pathognomonic ictal phenomenon of repetitive vertical head drops. To evaluate the underlying ictal neurophysiology, ictal EEG features were evaluated in nine participants with confirmed NS from South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda and ictal presence of high frequency gamma oscillations on scalp EEG were assessed. Ictal EEG during the head nodding episode predominantly showed generalized slow waves or sharp-and-slow wave complexes followed by electrodecrement. Augmentation of gamma activity (30-70 Hz) was seen during the head nodding episode in all the participants. We confirm that head nodding episodes in persons with NS from the three geographically distinct regions in sub-Saharan Africa share the common features of slow waves with electrodecrement and superimposed gamma activity. The characterization of quantum devices is crucial for their practical implementation but can be costly in experimental effort and classical postprocessing. Therefore, it is desirable to measure only the information that is relevant for specific applications and develop protocols that require little additional effort. In this Letter, we focus on the characterization of quantum computers in the context of stabilizer quantum error correction. For arbitrary stabilizer codes, subsystem codes, and data syndrome codes, we prove that the logical error channel induced by Pauli noise can be estimated from syndrome data under minimal conditions. More precisely, for any such code, we show that the estimation is possible as long as the code can correct the noise.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Autosomal dominant polycystic liver and kidney disease is a spectrum of hereditary diseases, which display disturbed function of primary cilia leading to cyst formation. In autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease a genetic cause can be determined in almost all cases. However, in isolated polycystic liver disease (PLD) about half of all cases remain genetically unsolved, suggesting more, so far unidentified genes to be implicated in this disease. METHODS: Customized next-generation sequencing was used to identify the underlying pathogenesis in two related patients with PLD. A variant identified in SEC61A1 was further analysed in immortalized patients' urine sediment cells and in an epithelial cell model. RESULTS: In both patients, a heterozygous missense change (c.706C>T/p.Arg236Cys) was found in SEC61A1, which encodes for a subunit of the translocation machinery of protein biosynthesis at the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). While kidney disease is absent in the proposita, her mother displays an atypical polycystic kidney phenotype with severe renal failure. In immortalized urine sediment cells, mutant SEC61A1 is expressed at reduced levels, resulting in decreased levels of polycystin-2 (PC2). In an epithelial cell culture model, we found the proteasomal degradation of mutant SEC61A1 to be increased, whereas its localization to the ER is not affected. CONCLUSIONS: Our data expand the allelic and clinical spectrum for SEC61A1, adding PLD as a new and the major phenotypic trait in the family described. We further demonstrate that mutant SEC61A1 results in enhanced proteasomal degradation and impaired biosynthesis of PC2.

OBJECTIVES: The WHO's standardized measuring unit, "binding antibody units per milliliter (BAU/mL)," should allow the harmonization of quantitative results by different commercial Anti-SARS-CoV-2 immunoassays. However, multiple studies demonstrate inter-assay discrepancies. The antigenic changes of the Omicron variant affect the performance of Spike-specific immunoassays. This study evaluated the variation of quantitative Anti-SARS-CoV-2-Spike antibody measurements among 46, 50, and 44 laboratories in three rounds of a national external quality assessment (EQA) prior to and after the emergence of the Omicron variant in a diagnostic near-to-real-life setting. METHODS: We analyzed results reported by the EQA participant laboratories from single and sequential samples from SARS-CoV-2 convalescent, acutely infected, and vaccinated individuals, including samples obtained after primary and breakthrough infections with the Omicron variant. RESULTS: The three immunoassays most commonly used by the participants displayed a low intra-assay and inter-laboratory variation with excellent reproducibility using identical samples sent to the participants in duplicates. In contrast, the inter-assay variation was very high with all samples. Notably, the ratios of BAU/mL levels quantified by different immunoassays were not equal among all samples but differed between vaccination, past, and acute infection, including primary infection with the Omicron variant. The antibody kinetics measured in vaccinated individuals strongly depended on the applied immunoassay. CONCLUSIONS: Measured BAU/mL levels are only inter-changeable among different laboratories when the same assay was used for their assessment. Highly variable ratios of BAU/mL quantifications among different immunoassays and infection stages argue against the usage of universal inter-assay conversion factors.

Introduction: The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic gave rise to studies investigating the association of ABO blood group with COVID-19 susceptibility. It is hypothesized that ABO antibodies might play a role in neutralizing SARS-CoV-2. However, ABO antibodies were exclusively analyzed in blood samples. Investigation of ABO antibodies in saliva, an easy-to-obtain surrogate for respiratory secretions, may provide novel insights into mucosal immunity crucial in early defense against respiratory pathogens. Methods: In this study, saliva and serum samples from healthy individuals with known blood groups were investigated using a flow cytometric method for separate anti-A/anti-B IgA, IgM, and IgG class antibody detection. Saliva samples were additionally tested using hemagglutination-based neutral and indirect anti-human globulin test gel cards. This method comparison was complemented by dilution experiments with a high-titer anti-A/anti-B WHO standard. Results: In saliva, IgA was the most abundant ABO antibody class, followed by IgM; IgG was detected only in low levels in all non-AB blood types. In serum, IgM was the predominant ABO antibody class in all non-AB blood types, followed by IgA and IgG, the latter mainly detected in group O individuals. Saliva and serum samples of group O individuals yielded the highest variability of ABO-specific antibody levels. Regardless of sample material and blood type, major interindividual differences in ABO antibody reactivities were recorded. Antibody levels correlated moderately between these two body fluids. There were no significant sex and age-group differences in ABO antibody levels in both serum and saliva. WHO standard dilution experiments yielded technique-specific limits of detection, illustrating the inherent differences of immunofluorescence versus agglutination. Conclusion: For the first time, salivary ABO antibodies were investigated by separate detection of the three most relevant antibody classes IgA, IgM, and IgG in a healthy cohort. This study opens new perspectives regarding mucosal ABO antibody class profiles and their potential influence on respiratory infections.

High-altitude expeditions expose teams to particular medical, environmental, and social challenges that can have unintended and severe consequences for crew members. In June 2017, the 9-d Equal Playing Field (EPF) expedition to Mount Kilimanjaro to set a world record for the highest-altitude soccer match ever played demonstrated the variety of challenges that may arise during these types of trips. This trip included a full-length soccer match at 5714 m (18,746 ft), leading to additional challenges for expedition members participating in the athletic event. The EPF medical team identified the challenges that occurred during the expedition and documented the methods used to resolve these challenges in real time. From the challenges faced during the expedition, we describe the lessons learned for future expeditions to Mount Kilimanjaro and other high-altitude environments. Challenges arose with medical tent visibility, medical disqualification, underreporting of medical events, and acute pain management, while anticipated challenges with interpersonal conflict did not occur. The rigorous preparation and anticipation by the EPF medical team prior to expedition departure may have helped mitigate this conflict as well as prevented unintended severe medical events from occurring.

This article presents the case of a 15-year-old adolescent presenting with myocarditis 4 days after receiving the 2nd dose of BNT162b2 mRNA vaccine (Comirnaty®) with no other identifiable cause. The main clinical symptom at presentation was chest pain. We found an elevated level of Troponin­I with preserved left ventricular systolic function. The cardiac MRI showed a clear pathologic result. With symptomatic therapy and strict bed rest, the symptoms resolved quickly and revealed a mild course.

Fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) affects the regulation of metabolism. Additionally, anti-inflammatory properties are attributed to FGF21, and studies in animals and humans show conflicting results. This study aimed to investigate how FGF21 is affected by glucose and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in humans. Therefore, FGF21 was measured eight times at different time points within 48 h in this prospective cross-over trial after glucose and LPS on two different study days. The study included ten healthy, non-smoking male subjects aged 18-40. Repeated measures analysis of variance and paired t-test as post hoc analysis were applied. The administration of glucose and LPS resulted in a significant difference in regulating FGF21 (p < 0.001). After glucose administration, FGF21 declined sharply at 360 min, with a subsequent steep increase that exceeded baseline levels. LPS induced a drop in FGF21 after 180 min, while the baseline concentrations were not reached. After 180 min and 24 h, a statistically significant difference was demonstrated after adjusting the Bonferroni-Holm method. So, our results support the hypothesis that glucose and LPS differentially affect the human expression of FGF21 over 48 h.

The odor span task (OST) is frequently used to assess memory capacity in rodents. Odor stimuli are presented in a large arena and choices of session-novel odors produce food reward. The procedure can be described as an incrementing non-matching-to-sample contingency because on each trial one new stimulus is presented along with one or more previously presented (non-reinforced) comparison odors. An automated version of this task has recently been developed in which odors are presented with an olfactometer in an operant chamber using a successive conditional discrimination procedure. The present study compared the acquisition of matching- vs. non-matching-to-sample versions of the task with six rats tested under each procedure. All six rats trained on the non-matching variation showed rapid acquisition of the discrimination with high rates of responding to odor stimuli when they were session-novel and low rates of responding to subsequent presentations of those odors. However, only three of the six rats trained on the matching variation met acquisition criteria, and two of the three that did acquire the task required extensive training to do so. These results support findings from the OST that rats can differentiate between stimuli that are session-novel and those previously encountered, but also that a matching contingency is more difficult to learn than a non-matching arrangement. These findings parallel differences observed between acquisition of simple matching- and non-matching-to-sample tasks, but accounts such as novelty preference or the oddity preference effect may not be sufficient to explain the present results.

BACKGROUND: Wilderness expeditions require extensive planning and the correct medical supplies to ensure clinical care is possible in the event of illness or injury. There are gaps in the literature regarding evidence-based methods for medical kit design. OBJECTIVES: This report describes a preliminary method for predicting medical events to determine medical supply requirements for a wilderness expedition. The performance of this method was evaluated using data from the 2017 Equal Playing Field (EPF) expedition to Mount Kilimanjaro. METHODS: Eight reports documenting medical events during wilderness expeditions were reviewed. Incidence data were consolidated into a new dataset, and a subset of data from adventure race expeditions (ARS) was created. The cumulative incidence of medical events was then predicted for the 9-day EPF expedition. The medical supply list was determined based on indication. The effectiveness of the full dataset and ARS to predict the cumulative incidence of medical events by category during the EPF expedition was evaluated using regression analysis. RESULTS: The ARS predicted a higher incidence rate of medical events than the full dataset did but underestimated the EPF expedition incidence rate. The full dataset was a weak predictor of the cumulative incidence of medical events by category during the EPF expedition, while the ARS was a strong predictor. The finalized medical kit overestimated all nonreusable supplies. CONCLUSIONS: The medical kit created using this method managed all medical events in the field. This report demonstrates the potential utility of using a tailored, evidence-based approach to design a medical kit for wilderness expeditions.

Introduction: The blood donation process is strictly regulated by law. The process includes the necessity of a medical history taken to determine if a donor is suitable to donate, which shall guarantee both donor and recipient safety. Supplementary screening for a limited number of infections is performed by antibody (HIV, HCV, syphilis) or antigen (HBV) tests or NAT (HIV, HCV, HBV). Case Presentation: With regard to a possible infection due to (sexual) risk behavior or foreign travel, blood donation facilities are predominantly dependent on information provided by the donor. This is especially true for malaria in nonendemic areas such as Europe. Transmission of malaria by a blood transfusion in a nonendemic country that led to fulminant septic shock and death of the patient happened. Discussion: From a legal perspective, the donor thus assumes a high level of responsibility with regard to the accuracy and completeness of the information provided on the donor questionnaire. Incorrect information may, as in this Austrian case reported, result in civil or criminal responsibility of the donor.

Loss of apical-basal polarity and downregulation of cell-cell contacts is a critical step during the pathogenesis of cancer. Both processes are regulated by the scaffolding protein Pals1, however, it is unclear whether the expression of Pals1 is affected in cancer cells and whether Pals1 is implicated in the pathogenesis of the disease.Using mRNA expression data and immunostainings of cancer specimen, we show that Pals1 is frequently downregulated in colorectal cancer, correlating with poorer survival of patients. We further found that Pals1 prevents cancer cell metastasis by controlling Rac1-dependent cell migration through inhibition of Arf6, which is independent of the canonical binding partners of Pals1. Loss of Pals1 in colorectal cancer cells results in increased Arf6 and Rac1 activity, enhanced cell migration and invasion in vitro and increased metastasis of transplanted tumor cells in mice. Thus, our data reveal a new function of Pals1 as a key inhibitor of cell migration and metastasis of colorectal cancer cells. Notably, this new function is independent of the known role of Pals1 in tight junction formation and apical-basal polarity.

Pathological risk factors for metastatic disease in patients with testicular non-seminomatous germ cell tumors are debated. The tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) classification eighth edition for testicular cancers includes divergent versions, by the International Union Against Cancer (UICC) and by the American Joint Committee for cancer (AJCC). We investigated pathological predictors of metastatic disease at presentation in 219 non-seminomatous germ cell tumors with reference to both classifications. Age, tumor size, percentage of embryonal carcinoma, lymphovascular invasion, invasion of stromal rete testis, hilar soft tissue, epididymis, spermatic cord, and tunica vaginalis, as well as tumor at spermatic cord margin, were assessed and correlated with clinical stage at presentation. Of the 219 NSGCT cases, 151 (69%) were clinical stage I, 68 (31%) were clinical stage II/III. On univariate analysis, tumor size (P = 0.028), percentage of embryonal carcinoma (P = 0.004), lymphovascular invasion (P = 0.001), stromal rete testis invasion (P = 0.001), hilar soft tissue invasion (P = 0.010), epididymis invasion (P = 0.010), direct spermatic cord invasion (P = 0.001), and tumor at spermatic cord margin ((P = 0.009) were associated with higher clinical stage. On multivariate analysis, lymphovascular invasion (P = 0.003), tumor size (P = 0.005), percentage of embryonal carcinoma (P = 0.005), stromal rete testis invasion (P = 0.008) remained significant. A tumor size of 6 cm and an embryonal carcinoma percentage of 70% were the significant cut-off values. We conclude that in addition to lymphovascular invasion, stromal rete testis invasion, tumor size, and embryonal carcinoma percentage are strong predictors of metastatic disease at presentation and their inclusion should be considered in any future TNM revision. Further, our results support the changes in the AJCC TNM eighth edition as invasion of the epididymis and hilar soft tissue were both univariately significant.

BACKGROUND: Melanoma therapy has changed dramatically over the last decade with improvements in immunotherapy, yet many patients do not respond to current therapies. This novel vaccine strategy may prime a patient's immune system against their tumor and work synergistically with immunotherapy against advanced-stage melanoma. METHODS: This was a prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, phase IIb trial of the tumor lysate, particle-loaded, dendritic cell (TLPLDC) vaccine administered to prevent recurrence in patients with resected stage III/IV melanoma. Patients were enrolled and randomized 2:1 to the TLPLDC vaccine or placebo (empty yeast cell wall particles and autologous dendritic cells). Both intention-to-treat (ITT) and per treatment (PT) analyses were predefined, with PT analysis including patients who remained disease-free through the primary vaccine/placebo series (6 months). RESULTS: A total of 144 patients were randomized (103 vaccine, 41 control). Therapy was well-tolerated with similar toxicity between treatment arms; one patient in each group experienced related serious adverse events. While disease-free survival (DFS) was not different between groups in ITT analysis, in PT analysis the vaccine group showed improved 24-month DFS (62.9% vs. 34.8%, p = 0.041). CONCLUSIONS: This phase IIb trial of TLPLDC vaccine administered to patients with resected stage III/IV melanoma shows TLPLDC is well-tolerated and improves DFS in patients who complete the primary vaccine series. This suggests patients who do not recur early benefit from TLPLDC in preventing future recurrence from melanoma. A phase III trial of TLPLDC + checkpoint inhibitor versus checkpoint inhibitor alone in patients with advanced, surgically resected melanoma is under development. TRIAL REGISTRATION: NCT02301611.

BACKGROUND: Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) targets the respiratory and gastric epithelium, causing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Tissue antigen expression variations influence host susceptibility to many infections. This study aimed to investigate the closely linked Lewis (FUT3) and ABO histo-blood types, including secretor (FUT2) status, to infections with SARS-CoV-2 and the corresponding severity of COVID-19. STUDY DESIGN AND METHODS: Patients (Caucasians, n = 338) were genotyped for ABO, FUT3, and FUT2, and compared to a reference population of blood donors (n = 250,298). The association between blood types and severity of COVID-19 was addressed by dividing patients into four categories: hospitalized individuals in general wards, patients admitted to the intensive care unit with and without intubation, and deceased patients. Comorbidities were considered in subsequent analyses. RESULTS: Patients with blood type Lewis (a-b-) or O were significantly less likely to be hospitalized (odds ratio [OR] 0.669, confidence interval [CI] 0.446-0.971, OR 0.710, CI 0.556-0.900, respectively), while type AB was significantly more prevalent in the patient cohort (OR 1.519, CI 1.014-2.203). The proportions of secretors/nonsecretors, and Lewis a+ or Lewis b+ types were consistent between patients and controls. The analyzed blood groups were not associated with the clinical outcome as defined. DISCUSSION: Blood types Lewis (a-b-) and O were found to be protective factors, whereas the group AB is suggested to be a risk factor for COVID-19. The antigens investigated may not be prognostic for disease severity, but a role for ABO isoagglutinins in SARS-CoV-2 infections is strongly suggested.
