RESUMO

The occurrence of superconductivity in proximity to various strongly correlated phases of matter has drawn extensive focus on their normal state properties, to develop an understanding of the state from which superconductivity emerges1-4. The recent finding of superconductivity in layered nickelates raises similar interests5-8. However, transport measurements of doped infinite-layer nickelate thin films have been hampered by materials limitations of these metastable compounds: in particular, a high density of extended defects9-11. Here, by moving to a substrate (LaAlO3)0.3(Sr2TaAlO6)0.7 that better stabilizes the growth and reduction conditions, we can synthesize the doping series of Nd1-xSrxNiO2 essentially free from extended defects. In their absence, the normal state resistivity shows a low-temperature upturn in the underdoped regime, linear behaviour near optimal doping and quadratic temperature dependence for overdoping. This is phenomenologically similar to the copper oxides2,12 despite key distinctions-namely, the absence of an insulating parent compound5,6,9,10, multiband electronic structure13,14 and a Mott-Hubbard orbital alignment rather than the charge-transfer insulator of the copper oxides15,16. We further observe an enhancement of superconductivity, both in terms of transition temperature and range of doping. These results indicate a convergence in the electronic properties of both superconducting families as the scale of disorder in the nickelates is reduced.

RESUMO

The discoveries of ferromagnetism down to the atomically thin limit in van der Waals (vdW) crystals by mechanical exfoliation have enriched the family of magnetic thin films [C. Gong et al., Nature 546, 265-269 (2017) and B. Huang et al., Nature 546, 270-273 (2017)]. However, compared to the study of traditional magnetic thin films by physical deposition methods, the toolbox of the vdW crystals based on mechanical exfoliation and transfer suffers from low yield and ambient corrosion problem and now is facing new challenges to study magnetism. For example, the formation of magnetic superlattice is difficult in vdW crystals, which limits the study of the interlayer interaction in vdW crystals [M. Gibertini, M. Koperski, A. F. Morpurgo, K. S. Novoselov, Nat. Nanotechnol. 14, 408-419 (2019)]. Here, we report a strategy of interlayer engineering of the magnetic vdW crystal Fe3GeTe2 (FGT) by intercalating quaternary ammonium cations into the vdW spacing. Both three-dimensional (3D) vdW superlattice and two-dimensional (2D) vdW monolayer can be formed by using this method based on the amount of intercalant. On the one hand, the FGT superlattice shows a strong 3D critical behavior with a decreased coercivity and increased domain wall size, attributed to the co-engineering of the anisotropy, exchange interaction, and electron doping by intercalation. On the other hand, the 2D vdW few layers obtained by over-intercalation are capped with organic molecules from the bulk crystal, which not only enhances the ferromagnetic transition temperature (TC), but also substantially protects the thin samples from degradation, thus allowing the preparation of large-scale FGT ink in ambient environment.

RESUMO

Although copper oxide high-temperature superconductors constitute a complex and diverse material family, they all share a layered lattice structure. This curious fact prompts the question of whether high-temperature superconductivity can exist in an isolated monolayer of copper oxide, and if so, whether the two-dimensional superconductivity and various related phenomena differ from those of their three-dimensional counterparts. The answers may provide insights into the role of dimensionality in high-temperature superconductivity. Here we develop a fabrication process that obtains intrinsic monolayer crystals of the high-temperature superconductor Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ (Bi-2212; here, a monolayer refers to a half unit cell that contains two CuO2 planes). The highest superconducting transition temperature of the monolayer is as high as that of optimally doped bulk. The lack of dimensionality effect on the transition temperature defies expectations from the Mermin-Wagner theorem, in contrast to the much-reduced transition temperature in conventional two-dimensional superconductors such as NbSe2. The properties of monolayer Bi-2212 become extremely tunable; our survey of superconductivity, the pseudogap, charge order and the Mott state at various doping concentrations reveals that the phases are indistinguishable from those in the bulk. Monolayer Bi-2212 therefore displays all the fundamental physics of high-temperature superconductivity. Our results establish monolayer copper oxides as a platform for studying high-temperature superconductivity and other strongly correlated phenomena in two dimensions.

RESUMO

Materials research has driven the development of modern nano-electronic devices. In particular, research in magnetic thin films has revolutionized the development of spintronic devices1,2 because identifying new magnetic materials is key to better device performance and design. Van der Waals crystals retain their chemical stability and structural integrity down to the monolayer and, being atomically thin, are readily tuned by various kinds of gate modulation3,4. Recent experiments have demonstrated that it is possible to obtain two-dimensional ferromagnetic order in insulating Cr2Ge2Te6 (ref. 5) and CrI3 (ref. 6) at low temperatures. Here we develop a device fabrication technique and isolate monolayers from the layered metallic magnet Fe3GeTe2 to study magnetotransport. We find that the itinerant ferromagnetism persists in Fe3GeTe2 down to the monolayer with an out-of-plane magnetocrystalline anisotropy. The ferromagnetic transition temperature, Tc, is suppressed relative to the bulk Tc of 205 kelvin in pristine Fe3GeTe2 thin flakes. An ionic gate, however, raises Tc to room temperature, much higher than the bulk Tc. The gate-tunable room-temperature ferromagnetism in two-dimensional Fe3GeTe2 opens up opportunities for potential voltage-controlled magnetoelectronics7-11 based on atomically thin van der Waals crystals.

RESUMO

Pesticides represent one of the largest intentional inputs of potentially hazardous compounds into agricultural soils. However, as an important vegetable producing country, surveys on pesticide residues in soils of vegetable production areas are scarce in China. This study presented the occurrence, spatial distribution, correlation between vegetable types and pesticides, and ecological risk evaluation of 94 current-use pesticides in 184 soil samples from vegetable production areas of Zhejiang province (China). The ecological risks of pesticides to soil biota were evaluated with toxicity exposure ratios (TERs) and risk quotient (RQ). The pesticide concentrations varied largely from below the limit of quantification to 20703.06 µg/kg (chlorpyrifos). The situation of pesticide residues in Jiaxing is more serious than in other cities. Soils in the vegetable areas are highly diverse in pesticide combinations. Eisenia fetida suffered exposure risk from multiple pesticides. The risk posed by chlorpyrifos, which exhibited the highest RQs at all scenarios, was worrisome. Only a few pesticides accounted for the overall risk of a city, while the other pesticides make little or zero contribution. This work will guide the appropriate use of pesticides and manage soil ecological risks, achieving green agricultural production.

RESUMO

Organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) are organic pollutants that are persistent and undegradable in the environment. To investigate their residual concentrations, spatial and temporal distributions, and the relationship with the crops planted, 12 individual OCPs in 687 soil samples from Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Jiangxi provinces of southeast China were examined. The detection frequencies of OCPs in the studied areas were 1.89%-64.9%. The concentrations of dichloro-diphenyl-trichloroethanes (DDTs), hexachlorocyclohexanes (HCHs), and endosulfans ranged from 0.01 to 5659 µg/kg, 0.03-3.58 µg/kg, and 0.05-3235 µg/kg, respectively. Jiangsu was mainly contaminated by p,p'-DDT, p,p'-DDD and endosulfan sulfate, Zhejiang was more polluted by OCPs except δ-HCH, and Jiangxi was more vulnerable to the contamination of OCPs except o,p'-DDE. The partial least-squares discrimination analysis (PLS-DA) model with RX2 36.3-36.8% revealed that compounds with similar chemical properties tended to appear in the same year and month. All crop lands were polluted by DDTs and Endosulfans. The highest concentrations of DDTs and Endosulfans were found in citrus and vegetable fields, respectively. This study offers new insight into the layout and partitioning of OCPs in agricultural land and into insecticide management on public health and ecological safety.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: Human-derived pulp stem cells play key roles during dentinogenesis. Erythropoietin is reportedly involved in osteoblastogenesis and facilitates bone formation. However, the mechanism is still unknown. This research was to study the potential of erythropoietin in enhancing odontoblastic differentiation of human-derived pulp stem cells and to determine the underlying mechanism. METHODS: The human-derived pulp stem cells were treated with erythropoietin, EphB4 inhibitor, and MAPK inhibitors, and the odontoblastic differentiation was measured by ALP staining, ALP activity assay, alizarin red S staining, and their quantitative analysis, and RT-qPCR of DSPP, DMP1, OCN, and RUNX2. The direct pulp capping model was established to evaluate the formation of tertiary dentin after treatment with erythropoietin. Western blot assay was conducted to assess relevant protein expressions in the phosphorylated EphB4 and MAPK pathway. RESULTS: The results showed that erythropoietin promoted odontoblastic differentiation of human-derived pulp stem cells at 20 U/ml. Erythropoietin induced tertiary dentin formation in vivo. The potential mechanism of this was upregulating phosphorylated EphB4 and phosphorylated MAPK; furthermore, this effect could be decreased by EphB4 inhibitors, which inhibited MAPK phosphorylation. Blockage of MAPK pathways attenuated human-derived pulp stem cells' odontoblastic differentiation, suggesting that MAPK pathways are involved. CONCLUSION: Erythropoietin induced tertiary dentin formation in vivo. And erythropoietin enhanced human-derived pulp stem cells' odontoblastic differentiation via the EphB4-mediated MAPK signaling pathway.

RESUMO

Although humans and animals are usually exposed to combinations of toxic substances, little is known about the interactive toxicity of mycotoxins and farm chemicals. Therefore, we can not precisely evaluate the health risks of combined exposure. In the present work, using different approaches, we examined the toxic impacts of zearalenone and trifloxystrobin on zebrafish (Danio rerio). Our findings showed that the lethal toxicity of zearalenone to embryonic fish with a 10-day LC50 of 0.59 mg L-1 was lower than trifloxystrobin (0.037 mg L-1). Besides, the mixture of zearalenone and trifloxystrobin triggered acute synergetic toxicity to embryonic fish. Moreover, the contents of CAT, CYP450, and VTG were distinctly altered in most single and combined exposures. Transcriptional levels of 23 genes involved in the oxidative response, apoptosis, immune, and endocrine systems were determined. Our results implied that eight genes (cas9, apaf-1, bcl-2, il-8, trb, vtg1, erß1, and tg) displayed greater changes when exposed to the mixture of zearalenone and trifloxystrobin compared with the corresponding individual chemicals. Our findings indicated that performing the risk assessment based on the combined impact rather than the individual dosage response of these chemicals was more accurate. Nevertheless, further investigations are still necessary to reveal the modes of action of mycotoxin and pesticide combinations and alleviate their effects on human health.

RESUMO

Fertilization has become one of the most important ways to recycle perishable waste. In order to reveal the effect of the nutrient of the perishable waste primary products on the market and the possible impact of their application, 136 perishable waste primary products were sampled in nine cities in Zhejiang province, China. The result shows that these products have high nutrient content (average nutrient content was 5.00%). However, the conductivity (7.19 mS/cm) total soluble salt content (12.07%), and grease content (5.99%) were too high. The excessive salt and grease may cause harm to soil and crops, and become the main limiting factors for the fertilizer utilization of perishable waste. Heavy metal content of most of the samples met current commercial organic fertilizer standards, except that lead and chromium content of some samples exceeded the limit standard. Toluene, ethylbenzene, m & p-xylene were generally detected in the samples. These toxic and harmful substances have brought risks to the safe use of perishable waste into fertilizers.

RESUMO

Pteris vittata is an arsenic (As) hyperaccumulator that can accumulate several thousand mg As kg-1 DW in aboveground biomass. A key factor for its hyperaccumulation ability is its highly efficient As long-distance translocation system. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain unknown. We isolated PvAsE1 through the full-length cDNA over-expression library of P. vittata and characterized it through a yeast system, RNAi gametophytes and sporophytes, subcellular-location and in situ hybridization. Phylogenomic analysis was conducted to estimate the appearance time of PvAsE1. PvAsE1 was a plasma membrane-oriented arsenite (AsIII) effluxer. The silencing of PvAsE1 reduced AsIII long-distance translocation in P. vittata sporophytes. PvAsE1 was structurally similar to solute carrier (SLC)13 proteins. Its transcripts could be observed in parenchyma cells surrounding the xylem of roots. The appearance time was estimated at c. 52.7 Ma. PvAsE1 was a previously uncharacterized SLC13-like AsIII effluxer, which may contribute to AsIII long-distance translocation via xylem loading. PvAsE1 appeared late in fern evolution and might be an adaptive subject to the selection pressure at the Cretaceaou-Paleogene boundary. The identification of PvAsE1 provides clues for revealing the special As hyperaccumulation characteristics of P. vittata.

RESUMO

The association between fragmented QRS (fQRS) and autonomic nervous dysfunction, and major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) is not fully clear in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). This study aimed to observe whether combined assessment with fQRS and cardiac autonomic nervous function could enhance the predicting efficacy on outcome in AMI patients. A total of 153 consecutive hospitalized AMI patients were included in this retrospective study. Patients were divided into non-fQRS (nfQRS) group and fQRS group according to 12-lead electrocardiogram, into sHRV [severely depressed heart rate variability (HRV): standard deviation of NN intervals (SDNN) < 100 ms and very low frequency (VLF) < 26.7 ms] group and nsHRV (non-severely depressed HRV) group according to 24 h Holter monitoring, and into non-MACE (nMACE) group and MACE group according to 12 months' follow-up results. The incidence of sHRV was significantly higher in the fQRS group than in the nfQRS group (71.9 vs. 39.3%, p < 0.05). The incidences of MACE were 7.4, 22.2, 25.7 and 56.5%, respectively, in nsHRV + nfQRS group, nsHRV + fQRS group, sHRV + nfQRS group and sHRV + fQRS group (p < 0.05). Multivariable Cox regression analysis showed that patients in the sHRV + fQRS group had a sixfold higher risk of MACE compared to patients in the nsHRV + nfQRS group (HR = 6.228, 95% CI 1.849-20.984, p = 0.003). The predicting sensitivity and specificity on MACE were 81.4 and 58.2% by sHRV, 69.8 and 69.1% by fQRS in these AMI patients. The specificity (81.8%) was the highest with the combination of sHRV and fQRS. Adding sHRV and fQRS to clinical data offered incremental prognostic value. Present results indicate that fQRS is closely related to sHRV, suggesting significant impairment of sympathetic nerve function in AMI patients with fQRS. Combined assessment with fQRS and sHRV enhances the predicting efficacy on outcome in AMI patients.

RESUMO

Glutathione peroxidase (GPx) plays an important role in maintaining the reactive oxygen metabolic balance, yet limited GPx-mimicking nanozymes are currently available for in vivo therapy. Herein, a ligand engineering strategy is developed to modulate the GPx-mimicking activity of a metal-organic framework (MOF) nanozyme. With different substituted ligands, the GPx-mimicking activities of MIL-47(V)-X (MIL stands for Materials of Institute Lavoisier; X=F, Br, NH2 , CH3 , OH, and H) MOFs are rationally regulated. With the best one as an example, both in vitro and in vivo experiments reveal the excellent antioxidation ability of MIL-47(V)-NH2 , which alleviates the inflammatory response effectively for both ear injury and colitis, and is more active than MIL-47(V). This study proves that high-performance GPx-mimicking nanozymes can be rationally designed by a ligand engineering strategy, and that structure-activity relationships can direct the in vivo therapy. This study enriches nanozyme research and expands the range of biomimetic MOFs.

RESUMO

Two-dimensional superconductors have attracted growing interest because of their scientific novelty, structural tunability, and useful properties. Studies of their magnetic responses, however, are often hampered by difficulties to grow large-size samples of high quality and uniformity. We report here an imaging method that employed NV- centers in diamond as a sensor capable of mapping out the microwave magnetic field distribution on an ultrathin superconducting film of micron size. Measurements on a 33 nm thick film and a 125 nm thick bulklike film of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ revealed that the alternating current (ac) Meissner effect (or repulsion of ac magnetic field) set in at 78 and 91 K, respectively; the latter was the superconducting transition temperature of both films. The unusual ac magnetic response of the thin film presumably was due to thermally excited vortex-antivortex diffusive motion in the film. Spatial resolution of our ac magnetometer was limited by optical diffraction and the noise level was at 14 µT/Hz1/2. The technique could be extended with better detection sensitivity to extract local ac conductivity/susceptibility of ultrathin or monolayer superconducting samples as well as ac magnetic responses of other two-dimensional exotic thin films of limited lateral size.

RESUMO

Reducing sympathetic neurohormone expression is a key therapeutic option in attenuating cardiac remodelling. Present study tested the feasibility of attenuating cardiac remodelling through reducing sympathetic neurohormone level by partial cardiac sympathetic denervation in a rat model of chronic volume overload. Male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomized into sham group (S, n = 7), aortocaval fistula group (AV, n = 7), and aortocaval fistula with bilateral sympathetic stellate ganglionectomy group (AD, n = 8). After 12 weeks, myocardial protein expression of sympathetic neurohormones, including tyrosine hydroxylase, neuropeptide Y, growth associated protein 43, and protein gene product 9.5, were significantly up-regulated in AV group compared to S group, and down-regulated in AD group. Cardiac remodelling was aggravated in AV group compared to S group and attenuated in AD group. The myocardial deposition of extracellular matrix, including collagen I and III, was enhanced in AV group, which was reduced in AD group. Myocardial angiotensin II and aldosterone expressions were significantly up-regulated in AV group and down-regulated in AD group. Our results show that bilateral sympathetic stellate ganglionectomy could attenuate cardiac remodelling and fibrosis by down-regulating sympathetic neurohormones expression in this rat model of chronic volume overload.

RESUMO

We established a rabbit model of acute massive pulmonary embolism (PE) with associated circulatory shock using autologous blood clots. Rabbits were randomly assigned to a sham operation group (S group), model group (M group; equal volume of saline intravenously after shock), and sodium nitroprusside group (SNP group; sodium nitroprusside intravenously after shock). SNP treatment significantly decreased mean pulmonary arterial pressure and increased mean arterial pressure and arterial partial pressure of oxygen and resulted in a partial reversal of the acute circulatory failure. The shock-reversal rate was 0% in the M group and 80% in the SNP group. Moreover, pulmonary artery angiography and echocardiography examinations evidenced alleviated PE-induced changes after SNP therapy. 5-Hydroxytryptamine was significantly reduced in both PE and non-PE tissues, thromboxane A2 level was significantly reduced in PE and tended to be lower in non-PE tissues, neutrophil accumulation was significantly reduced in both PE and non-PE tissues after SNP therapy. Our study demonstrated that pulmonary vasospasm in the nonembolic region might be a major pathologic factor leading to reduced left ventricular filling and circulatory shock after massive PE. Reduction of pulmonary vasospasm in the nonembolic area after SNP might serve as a major therapeutic mechanism involved in the observed beneficial effects of SNP in this model.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: We recently showed that intravenous sodium nitroprusside treatment (SNP) could relieve the pulmonary vasospasm of pulmonary embolism (PE) and non-pulmonary embolism (non-PE) regions in a rabbit massive pulmonary embolism (MPE) model associated with shock. The present study explored the potential role of cardiopulmonary sympathetic activity on the pathogenesis and the impact of vasodilators on cardiopulmonary sympathetic activity in this model. METHODS: Rabbits were randomly divided into sham operation group (S group, n = 8), model group (M, equal volume of saline intravenously, n = 11), SNP group (3.5 µg/kg/min intravenously, n = 10) and diltiazem group (DLZ, 6.0 µg/kg/min intravenously, n = 10). RESULTS: MPE resulted in reduced mean arterial pressure and increased mean pulmonary arterial pressure as well as reduced PaO2 in the M, SNP and DLZ groups. Tyrosine hydroxylase (TH), neuropeptide Y (NPY) and endothelin-1 (ET-1) expression levels were significantly increased, while nitric oxide (NO) levels were reduced in both PE and non-PE regions in the M group. Both SNP and DLZ decreased mean pulmonary arterial pressure, reversed shock status, downregulated the expression of TH, NPY and ET-1, and increased NO levels in PE and non-PE regions. CONCLUSION: Present results indicate that upregulation of the sympathetic medium transmitters TH and NPY in whole lung tissues serves one of the pathological features of MPE. The vasodilators SNP and DLZ could relieve pulmonary vasospasm in both embolization and non-embolization regions and reverse circulatory shock, thereby indirectly downregulating the sympathetic activation of the whole lung tissues and breaking a vicious cycle related to sympathetic activation in this model.

RESUMO

In natural ecosystems, organisms are commonly exposed to chemical mixtures rather than individual compounds. However, environmental risk is traditionally assessed based on data of individual compounds. In the present study, we aimed to investigate the individual and combined effects of four pesticides [fenobucarb (FEN), chlorpyrifos (CPF), clothianidin (CLO), acetochlor (ACE)] and one heavy metal chromium [Cr(Ⅵ)] on the earthworm (Eisenia fetida) using avoidance behavior as an endpoint. Our results indicated that CLO had the highest toxicity to E. fetida, followed by Cr(Ⅵ), while FEN showed the least toxicity. Two mixtures of CPF+CLO and Cr(Ⅵ)+CPF+CLO+ACE exhibited synergistic effects on the earthworms. The other two quaternary mixtures of CLO+FEN+ACE+Cr(Ⅵ) and Cr(Ⅵ)+FEN+CPF+ACE at low concentrations also displayed synergistic effects on the earthworms. In contrast, the mixture of Cr(Ⅵ)+FEN had the strongest antagonistic effects on E. fetida. Besides, the quinquenary mixture of Cr(Ⅵ)+FEN+CPF+CLO+ACE also exerted antagonistic effects. These findings highlighted the importance to evaluate chemical mixtures. Moreover, our data strongly pointed out that the avoidance tests could be used to assess the effects of combined effects.

RESUMO

Energy bandgap largely determines the optical and electronic properties of a semiconductor. Variable bandgap therefore makes versatile functionality possible in a single material. In layered material black phosphorus, the bandgap can be modulated by the number of layers; as a result, few-layer black phosphorus has discrete bandgap values that are relevant for optoelectronic applications in the spectral range from red, in monolayer, to mid-infrared in the bulk limit. Here, we further demonstrate continuous bandgap modulation by mechanical strain applied through flexible substrates. The strain-modulated bandgap significantly alters the density of thermally activated carriers; we for the first time observe a large piezo-resistive effect in black phosphorus field-effect transistors (FETs) at room temperature. The effect opens up opportunities for future development of electromechanical transducers based on black phosphorus, and we demonstrate an ultrasensitive strain gauge constructed from black phosphorus thin crystals.

The great spatial and temporal variability in hydrological conditions and nitrogen (N) processing introduces large uncertainties to the identification of N sources and quantifying N cycles in plain river network regions. By combining isotopic data with chemical and hydrologic measurements, we determined the relative importance of N sources and biogeochemical N processes in the Taige River in the East Plain Region of China. The river was polluted more seriously by anthropogenic inputs in winter than in summer. Manure and urban sewage effluent were the main nitrate (NO3-) sources, with the nitrification of N-containing organic materials serving as another important source of NO3-. In the downstream, with minor variations in hydrological conditions, nitrification played a more important role than assimilation for the decreasing ammonium (NH4+-N) concentrations. The N isotopic enrichment factors (ε) during NH4+ utilization ranged from -13.88‰ in March to -29.00‰ in July. The ratio of the increase in δ18O and δ15N of river NO3- in the downstream was 1.04 in January and 0.92 in March. This ratio indicated that NO3- assimilation by phytoplankton was responsible for the increasing δ15N and δ18O values of NO3- in winter. The relationships between δ15N of particulate organic nitrogen and isotopic compositions of dissolved inorganic nitrogen indicated that the phytoplankton in the Taige River probably utilized NH4+ preferentially and mainly in summer, while in winter, NO3- assimilation by phytoplankton was dominant.

RESUMO

The use of oxidoreductase nanozymes to regulate reactive oxygen species (ROS) has gradually emerged in periodontology treatments. However, current nanozymes for treating periodontitis eliminate ROS extensively and non-specifically, ignoring the physiological functions of ROS under normal conditions, which may result in uncontrolled side effects. Herein, using the MIL-47(V)-F (MVF) nanozyme, which mimics the function of glutathione peroxidase (GPx), it is proposed that ROS can be properly regulated by specifically eliminating H2 O2 , the most prominent ROS. Through H2 O2 elimination, MVF contributes to limiting inflammation, regulating immune microenvironment, and promoting periodontal regeneration. Moreover, MVF stimulates osteogenic differentiation of periodontal stem cells directly, further promoting regeneration due to the vanadium in MVF. Mechanistically, MVF regulates ROS by activating the nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2/heme oxygenase 1 (Nrf2/HO-1) pathway and promotes osteogenic differentiation directly through the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/protein kinase B (PI3K/Akt) pathway. A promising periodontitis therapy strategy is presented using GPx-mimicking nanozymes through their triple effects of antioxidation, immunomodulation, and bone remodeling regulation, making nanozymes an excellent tool for developing precision medicine.
