This study aimed to identify the genes and small RNAs (sRNAs) expressed by the human endogenous retrovirus K (HERV-K) HML2 and their associations with the immune process of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). RNA-Seq data including 99 SLE patients and 18 controls (GSE72420) was obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) as well as HML2-DEGs between SLE patients and normal controls were identified. Five HML2-DEGs involved in immune-regulating function were identified using weighted gene co-expression network analysis. The associations between these genes and the proportions of immune cells were determined by CIBERSORT. Ten candidate HML2-encoded sRNAs were identified based on specific criteria, and three of them were further validated in SLE patients by qRT-PCR. The diagnostic values of these three sRNAs were evaluated in SLE and lupus nephritis (LN). This study suggested that HML2 genes and their encoded sRNAs might be involved in the immune regulation and progress of SLE. These potential sRNAs might function as regulatory molecules and diagnostic biomarkers of SLE and LN.

BACKGROUND: Sarcopenia, overweight and obesity are all dynamic changes in body composition, which may have a negative effect on the prognosis for patients with colorectal cancer. The aim of this study was to investigate the predictive role of sarcopenia on overweight or obese patients with colorectal cancer. METHODS: We conducted an observative study on the population of overweight or obese patients with colorectal cancer who underwent curative surgeries in two centers between 2015 and 2021. They were grouped by the presence of sarcopenia. Propensity score match analysis was used to balance the baseline of clinicopathologic characteristics of the two groups. Then, the postoperative outcomes between the two groups were compared. Independent risk factors were evaluated for complications using univariate and multivariate analysis. RESULTS: Of 827 patients enrolled, 126 patients were matched for analysis. Patients with sarcopenia had a higher incidence of total complication and medical complications, a higher rate of laparoscopic surgery performed and higher hospitalization costs. Old age (≥65 years, P = 0.012), ASA grade (III, P = 0.008) and sarcopenia (P = 0.036) were independent risk factors for total complications. ASA grade (III, P = 0.002) and sarcopenia (P = 0.017) were independent risk factors for medical complications. CONCLUSIONS: Sarcopenia was prevalent among overweight or obese patients with colorectal cancer and was associated with negative postoperative outcomes. Early recognition of changes in body composition could help surgeons be well prepared for surgical treatment for overweight or obese patients.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) continue to attract increasing interest with respect to their applications as luminescent materials. The ordered structure of the metal-organic complex facilitates the selective integration of PAHs that can be tuned to function cooperatively. Here, a unique highly twisted anthracene-based organoplatinum metallacycle was prepared via coordination-driven self-assembly. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that the metallacycle was twisted through the cooperation of strong π···π stacking interactions and steric hindrance between two anthracene-based ligands. Notably, the intramolecular twist and aggregation behavior introduced restrictions to the conformational change of anthracenes, which resulted in increased emission intensity of the metallacycle in solution. The emission behaviors and suprastructures based on the highly twisted metallacycle can be modulated by the introduction of different solvents. This study demonstrates that this metallacycle with highly twisted structure is a promising candidate for sensing and bioimaging applications.

Matrix metallopreteinase (MMP), a family of matrix degrading enzyme, plays a significant role in persistent and irreversible joint damage in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Photobiomodulatory therapy (PBMT) has become an emerging adjunct therapy for RA. However, the molecular mechanism of PBMT on RA remains unclear. The purpose of this study is to explore the effect of 630 nm light emitting diode (LED) irradiation on RA and its underly molecular mechanism. Arthritis clinic scores, histology analysis and micro-CT results show that 630 nm LED irradiation ameliorates collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) in mice with the reduction of the extents of paw swelling, inflammation and bone damage. 630 nm LED irradiation significantly reduces MMP-3 and MMP-9 levels and inhibits p65 phosphorylation level in the paws of CIA mice. Moreover, 630 nm LED irradiation significantly inhibits the mRNA and protein levels of MMP-3 and MMP-9 in TNF-α-treated MH7A cells, a human synovial cell line. Importantly, 630 nm LED irradiation reduces TNF-α-induced the phosphorylated level of p65 but not alters STAT1, STAT3, Erk1/2, JNK and p38 phosphorylation levels. Immunofluorescence result showed that 630 nm LED irradiation blocks p65 nuclear translocation in MH7A cells. In addition, other MMPs mRNA regulated by NF-κB were also significantly inhibited by LED irradiation in vivo and in vitro. These results indicates that 630 nm LED irradiation reduces the MMPs levels to ameliorate the development of RA by inhibiting the phosphorylation of p65 selectively, suggesting that 630 nm LED irradiation may be a beneficial adjunct therapy for RA.Graphical abstract.

BACKGROUND: Sarcopenia is highly prevalent in elderly individuals and has a significant adverse effect on their physical health and quality of life, but the mechanisms remain unclear. Studies have indicated that transcription factors (TFs) and the immune microenvironment play a vital role in skeletal muscle atrophy. METHODS: RNA-seq data of 40 muscle samples were downloaded from the GEO database. Then, differentially expressed genes (DEGs), TFs(DETFs), pathways(DEPs), and the expression of immune gene sets were identified with limma, edgeR, GO, KEGG, ORA, GSVA, and ssGSEA. Furthermore, the results above were integrated into coexpression analysis by Pearson correlation analysis (PCA). Significant coexpression patterns were used to construct the immune-related transcriptional regulatory network by Cytoscape and potential medicine targeting the network was screened by Connectivity Map. Finally, the regulatory mechanisms and RNA expression of DEGs and DETFs were identified by multiple online databases and RT‒qPCR. RESULTS: We screened 808 DEGs (log2 fold change (FC) > 1 or < - 1, p < 0.05), 4 DETFs (log2FC > 0.7 or < - 0.7, p < 0.05), 304 DEPs (enrichment scores (ES) > 1 or < - 1, p < 0.05), and 1208 differentially expressed immune genes sets (DEIGSs) (p < 0.01). Based on the results of PCA (correlation coefficient (CC) > 0.4 or < - 0.4, p < 0.01), we then structured an immune-related network with 4 DETFs, 9 final DEGs, 11 final DEPs, and 6 final DEIGSs. Combining the results of online databases and in vitro experiments, we found that PAX5-SERPINA5-PI3K/Akt (CC ≤ 0.444, p ≤ 0.004) was a potential transcriptional regulation axis, and B cells (R = 0.437, p = 0.005) may play a vital role in this signal transduction. Finally, the compound of trichostatin A (enrichment = -0.365, specificity = 0.4257, p < 0.0001) might be a potential medicine for sarcopenia based on the PubChem database and the result of the literature review. CONCLUSIONS: We first identified immune-related transcriptional regulatory network with high-throughput RNA-seq data in sarcopenia. We hypothesized that PAX5-SERPIAN5-PI3K/Akt axis is a potential mechanism in sarcopenia and that B cells may play a vital role in this signal transduction. In addition, trichostatin A might be a potential medicine for sarcopenia.

Coxsackievirus B (CVB) is the major cause of human myocarditis and dilated cardiomyopathy. Toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3) is an intracellular sensor to detect pathogen's dsRNA. TLR3, along with TRAF6, triggers an inflammatory response through NF-κB signaling pathway. In the cells infected with CVB type 3 (CVB3), the abundance of miR-146a was significantly increased. The role of miR-146a in CVB infection is unclear. In this study, TLR3 and TRAF6 were identified as the targets of miR-146a. The elevated miR-146a inhibited NF-κB translocation and subsequently down-regulated proinflammatory cytokine expression in the CVB3-infected cells. Therefore, the NF-κB pathway can be doubly blocked by miR-146a through targeting of TLR3 and TRAF6. MiR-146a may be a negative regulator on inflammatory response and an intrinsic protective factor in CVB infection.

BACKGROUND: Sarcopenia and cachexia are two predictors of adverse clinical outcomes, but they are partly overlapping. We aimed to compare the characteristics and prognostic value of cachexia and sarcopenia in patients after gastrectomy. METHODS: From 2014 to 2019, a total of 1215 gastric cancer patients were enrolled. Cachexia and sarcopenia were diagnosed according to the most recent consensus definitions. Baseline characteristics and clinical outcomes were compared between the two groups. Risk factors of survival were evaluated by Cox regression analysis. RESULTS: Of all patients, 26.5% were diagnosed with cachexia and 19.8% were diagnosed with sarcopenia. Sarcopenia was more prevalent in elderly patients, while cachexia was prone to occur in patients with TMN stage III. Survival curves showed that sarcopenia had adverse effects in patients with TMN stage I and II-III, while cachexia was only associated with poor survival at stages II-III. For the entire cohort, both cachexia and sarcopenia were adverse factors for prognosis. However, for stage I patients, sarcopenia was an independent predictor for overall survival (OS) (HR = 4.939, P < 0.001) and disease-free survival (DFS) (HR = 4.256, P < 0.001), but not cachexia; for stage II-III patients, cachexia was an independent predictor for OS (HR = 1.538, P < 0.001) and DFS (HR = 1.473, P = 0.001), but not sarcopenia. CONCLUSIONS: Sarcopenia and cachexia have different clinical characteristics and prognostic values. For patients with early stage gastric cancer, detection for sarcopenia was more meaningful than cachexia. However, the prognostic significance of cachexia exceeded sarcopenia in advanced cancer.

Tuberculosis is a major public health issue in Yemen, a country located at the southwestern tip of the Arabian Peninsula, while the situation of tuberculosis had been further exacerbated since the war started in 2015. The objective of this study is to investigate the incidence of tuberculosis in Yemen before the outbreak of COVID-19, from 2006 to 2018. During the 13-year period, 92 482 patients were enrolled in the TB programme records from the 22 governorates. Almost equal number of cases were diagnosed between males and females (a male to female ratio, 1.03:1). A notable rising incidence was observed in all age groups starting from 2011. The sharpest increase occurred in children under age 15, rising by 8.0-fold from 0.5 in the period 2006-2010 to 4.1 in the period 2011-2018. Paediatric TB accounted for 9.6% of all reported cases. In terms of the patient residence, incidence has more than doubled in Sana'a city, Sana'a Gov., Hajjah and Saadah. Concomitant diseases with tuberculosis included diabetes mellitus (14.0%), brucellosis (6.1%), hepatitis (6.0%), rheumatoid arthritis (4.3%), renal disorders (2.5%) and HIV infection (2.5%). Development of interventions to reduce tuberculosis incidence in children and concomitant communicable diseases is urgently needed.

Nearfield acoustic holography based on the compressed sensing theory can realize the accurate reconstruction of sound fields with fewer measurement points on the premise that an appropriate sparse basis is obtained. However, for different types of sound sources, the appropriate sparse bases are diverse and should be constructed elaborately. In this paper, a block sparse Bayesian learning (SBL) equivalent source method is proposed for realizing the reconstruction of the sound fields radiated by different types of sources, including the spatially sparse sources, the spatially extended sources, and the mixed ones of the above two, without the elaborate construction of the sparse basis. The proposed method constructs a block sparse equivalent source model and promotes a block sparse solution by imposing a structured prior on the equivalent source model and estimating the posterior of the model by using the SBL, which can achieve the accurate reconstruction of the radiated sound fields of different types of sources simply by adjusting the block size. Numerical simulation and experimental results demonstrate the validity and superiority of the proposed method, and the effects of two key parameters, the block size, and sparsity pruning threshold value are investigated through simulations.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic autoimmune disease of the central nervous system, and the pathogenesis is influenced by genetic susceptibility. Accumulating evidence has demonstrated that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play essential roles in complex diseases, including acting as competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs). However, the functional roles and regulatory mechanisms of lncRNAs acting as ceRNAs in MS are still unclear. In this study, we identified hub lncRNA ceRNAs in MS based on ceRNA mechanisms and annotated their functions. The lncRNA-associated ceRNA network (LACN) was constructed by integrating the expression profiles of lncRNA/mRNA and miRNA in MS and normal samples, and the experimentally validated interactions of lncRNA-miRNA and mRNA-miRNA. We found three hub lncRNA ceRNAs (XIST, OIP5-AS1, and CTB-89H12.4) using the network analysis and obtained 96 lncRNA-mediated competing triplets (LCTs, lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA) with the hub lncRNA ceRNAs, which constituted 3 hub ceRNA modules. The functional analysis identified 12 pathways enriched by the 3 hub lncRNA ceRNAs, of which 6 were confirmed to be related to MS. For example, XIST was enriched in the 'spliceosome' and 'RNA transport' related to the typing of MS, and CTB-89H12.4 was enriched in the 'mTOR signaling pathway,' a potential therapeutic target for MS. We dissected the expression patterns of the 96 LCTs in MS individually. LCT XIST-miR-326-HNRNPA1, for which the expression pattern in MS revealed that XIST and HNRNPA1 were up-regulated and miR-326 was down-regulated, consisted of risk RNAs for MS that were validated by other research. Therefore, XIST-miR-326-HNRNPA1 might play a central role in the pathogenesis of MS. These results will contribute to the discovery of novel biomarkers and the development of new therapeutic methods for MS.

High expression of suppressors of cytokine signalling (SOCS) has been detected during various viral infections. As a negative feedback regulator, SOCS participates in the regulation of multiple signalling pathways. In this study, to study the related mechanism between SOCS and BDV and to explore the effect of SOCS on IFN pathways in nerve cells, downregulated of SOCS1/3 in oligodendroglial (OL) cells and OL cells persistently infected with BDV (OL/BDV) were constructed with RNA interference technology. An interferon inducer (poly I:C, PIC) and an IFN-α/ß R1 antibody were used as stimulation in the SOCS1/3 low-expression cell models, qRT-PCR was used to detect type I IFN and BDV nucleic acid expression, Western blot was used to detect the expression of BDV P40 protein. After BDV acute infection with OL cells which with downregulated SOCS expression, the virus accounting was not detected, and the viral protein expression was lower than that of OL/BDV cells; the OL/BDV cells with downregulated SOCS expression had lower virus nucleic acid and protein expression than OL/BDV cells. Stimulated by IFN-α/ß R1 antibody, the expression of type I interferon in OL/BDV cells decreased, and the content of BDV nucleic acid and protein increased, which was higher than that of OL/BDV cells. From the results, it was concluded that downregulating SOCS1/3 can inhibit the formation of acute BDV infection and virus replication in persistent BDV infection by promoting the expression of IFN-α/ß and that SOCS can be used as a new target for antiviral therapy.

Osteosarcoma (OS) is the most common primary malignant bone tumor in children and adolescents. Unfortunately, chemo-resistance is a huge obstacle in the treatment of OS. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms of OS chemo-resistance still remain unknown. Here we reported that the resistance to camptothecin (cpt) therapy was driven by degradation of DDX5. DDX5 knockdown decreased cell death and DNA damage and recovered cell proliferation in cpt treated 143B cells. Furthermore, we found that DDX5 bound to NONO, a kind of DNA repairing protein, and regulated NONO functions. Our data verified that cpt-induced degradation of DDX5 following by breaking down the protein bound of NONO, which participated in the resistance of cpt. In the summary, according to our results, DDX5 might be a potential therapeutic target for improving clinical outcomes of cpt in OS.

BACKGROUND: In patients with ultralow rectal cancer, surgical resection of the tumor without impairing sphincter function remains a technical challenge. The purpose of this study was to describe a new technique of transanal natural orifice specimen extraction (NOSE) surgery using our independently developed devices, aiming to achieve precise cancer resection and preserve sphincter function in patients with ultralow rectal cancer. METHODS: Precision functional sphincter-preserving surgery (PPS) was performed on nineteen patients with ultralow rectal cancer between June 2019 and April 2020. With the help of our independently developed devices, surgeons directly and accurately removed the lower edge of the tumor and retained healthy rectal tissue on the nontumorous side. Hand-sewn anastomosis with a mattress suture was used to achieve sturdy anastomosis. Preoperative baseline characteristics, operative details, 90-day postoperative complications, costs, and anal function score at 6 months after surgery were documented. RESULTS: Nineteen ultralow rectal cancer patients with a median distance to the dentate line of 2.0 cm successfully underwent PPS without serious postoperative complications. Six out of nineteen patients (31.6%) received a prophylactic stoma. The average cost was 62164.1 yuan. At 6 months after surgery, the average Wexner anal function score and the average Vaizey score were both 3 points. CONCLUSIONS: PPS can be employed to precisely resect rectal tumors and preserve sphincter function in ultralow rectal cancer patients. The use of our devices enhanced surgical efficiency, reduced the need for prophylactic stoma, reduced surgery-related costs, and prevented abdominal surgical incisions.

PURPOSE: The applicability of laparoscopic-assisted radical gastrectomy for elderly patients with gastric cancer is still not well clarified. The aim of this double-center study was to explore the feasibility and effectiveness of laparoscopic-assisted radical gastrectomy on elderly patients with gastric cancer. METHODS: We prospectively collected data of patients who underwent gastrectomy for cancer in two centers from June 2016 to December 2019. Propensity score matching was performed at a ratio of 1:1 to compare the laparoscopic-assisted radical gastrectomy group and open radical gastrectomy group. Univariate analyses and multivariate logistic regression analyses evaluating the risk factors for total, surgical, and medical complications were performed. RESULTS: A total of 481 patients with gastric cancer met the inclusion criteria and were included in this study. After propensity score analysis, 258 patients were matched each other (laparoscopic-assisted radical gastrectomy (LAG) group, n = 129; open radical gastrectomy (OG) group, n = 129). LAG group had lower rate of surgical complications (P = 0.009), lower rate of severe complications (P = 0.046), shorter postoperative hospital stay (P = 0.001), and lower readmission rate (P = 0.039). Multivariate analyses revealed that anemia, Charlson comorbidity index, and combined resection were independent risk factors in the LAG group, whereas body mass index and American Society of Anesthesiology grade in the OG group. CONCLUSION: Laparoscopic-assisted radical gastrectomy was relative safe even effective in elderly gastric cancer patients. We should pay attention to the different risk factors when performing different surgical procedures for gastric cancer in elderly patients.

Because of a large number of macrophages and its secreted pro-inflammatory factors in the synovial fluid of patients with rheumatoid arthritis, the present study aimed to investigate the effect and mechanism of 630-nm LED exposure on monocytes/macrophages and its anti-inflammatory effect. The THP-1 monocytes and PMA-induced THP-1 macrophages (THP-1 macrophages) were employed and irradiated by 630-nm LED for different time and times, and then measure the pro-inflammatory cytokines production by RT-qPCR and Milliplex MAP Multiplex assay, the proteins involved in inflammation pathway and reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels in the cells were detected by Western blot and DCFH-DA method. The exposure dose of red LED (15.3 J/cm2, 30.6 J/cm2) were determined as no-influence on the cell proliferation, the pro-inflammatory factors TNF-α and IL-1ß mRNAs, and secretions in supernatant of THP-1 macrophages were significantly decreased after LED exposure. The ROS production was blocked in THP-1 monocytes and THP-1 macrophages after treatment of LED. Finally, the phosphorylated NF-κB proteins which involved in inflammation pathway significantly decreased, and its inhibitors Nrf2 were slightly upregulated. The effects of LED anti-inflammation response are dependent on the mechanism of inhibiting ROS level and regulating NF-κB signaling pathways by increasing Nrf2 expression in the cells. It is suggested that 630-nm LED could decrease pro-inflammation in immune cells, and it may be a beneficial adjunct therapy in relieving inflammation of patients with rheumatoid arthritis.

In higher education, it is a great challenge for instructors to teach international medical students (IMSs) efficiently. These students usually have different learning obstacles and learning style preferences from domestic students. Thus it is necessary to use teaching modalities targeting the specific characteristics of IMSs. Accordingly, we have developed a teaching modality composed of classical teacher-centered approach (TCA), enriched with components of student-centered approach (SCA) and online interactions targeting the learning characteristics of IMSs, which we defined as TESOT (an acronym made of the underlined words' initials). Aside from the online interactions that provide both answers to questions raised by students and guidance throughout a course, this modality contains additional in-classroom components (i.e., pre-lecture quiz, student-led summary, and post-lecture quiz). The effectiveness of this modality was tested in the nervous system module of the Physiology course for IMSs. The final exam scores in the nervous system module in the year taught with TESOT were higher than those earned by students taught with a classical TCA modality in preceding 2 yr. The improvement of teaching effectiveness is attributable to increasing communication, bridging course contexts, and meeting diverse learning style preferences. These results indicate that TESOT as an effective teaching modality is useful for enhancing efficiency of teaching IMSs.

OBJECTIVE: To explore whether it is necessary to choose NIPT-plus for the prenatal screening of pregnant women. METHODS: The results of NIPT and NIPT-plus sequencing data, fetal DNA concentration, prenatal diagnosis and pregnancy outcome of 50 pregnant women were compared. RESULTS: Compared with NIPT, NIPT-plus attained similar fetal DNA concentration and a 4.4-fold increase in sequencing data. NIPT was able to detect 4 cases of 21-trisomy, 2 cases of 18-trisomy, and 9 cases of sex chromosome aneuploidies (SCAs) signaled by NIPT-plus, but missed one 18-trisomy, and failed to detect rare chromosome aneuploidies (RCAs) and microdeletion/microduplication syndromes (MMS). The PPVs of NIPT-plus for 21-trisomy, 18-trisomy, SCAs, MMS and RCAs were 100%, 100%, 44.4%, 30.4% and 0%, respectively. And those of NIPT for 21-trisomy, 18-trisomy, and SCAs were 100%, 100%, and 44.4%, respectively. CONCLUSION: It is necessary for pregnant women to select NIPT-plus to improve the detection rate of common trisomies, SCAs and disease-specific MMS, therefore reduce the occurrene of birth defect.

OBJECTIVE: To assess the value of non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) for the detection of fetal chromosomal aneuploidies in women with twin pregnancy. METHODS: A total of 2473 women with twin pregnancy underwent the NIPT test to assess the risk for fetal chromosomal aneuploidies from January 2016 to September 2019. Those with a high risk by NIPT were confirmed by amniocentesis or chorionic villus sampling. All cases were followed up to evaluate the positive prediction value of NIPT for twin pregnancies. RESULTS: Among the 2473 women, the NIPT test has identified 31 cases (1.25%) with a high risk for fetal chromosomal aneuploidies, which included 5 cases of trisomy 21, 1 case of chromosome 21 deletion, 4 cases of trisomy 18, 7 cases of sex chromosome abnormality and 14 cases of microdeletion and microduplication. By invasive prenatal diagnosis or chromosomal karyotyping analysis of neonates, 5 cases of trisomy 21, 3 cases of trisomy 18, 1 case of sex chromosome abnormality, and 2 cases of microdeletion and microduplication were confirmed, which yielded a positive predictive value of 100%, 75%, 25% and 25%, respectively. CONCLUSION: NIPT can be used for the screening of fetal chromosomal aneuploidies in women with twin pregnancy with high accuracy. The method is non-invasive, safe and effective for the screening of fetal chromosomal aneuploidies, in particular trisomy 21.

The coupling of material systems at different length scales enables new ways to take advantage of the unique properties of nano-/macroscale materials. Here, the self-organization of assembled metallacages generated ultralong nanowires, followed by the formation of nanowire-based soft films with diameters up to 6.5 cm. In contrast to previous reports that mainly focused on the preparation of metallacage assemblies with dimensions on the nano-/micrometer scale, the preparation of centimeter assemblies can serve as the bridge between nanostructures and the macroscopic world.

Solution 31P nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy has been widely applied to analyze the speciation of soil organic P; however, this time-consuming technique suffers from a low analytical efficiency, because of the lack of fundamental information such as the spin-lattice relaxation (T1) of 31P nucleus for model P compounds. In this study, we for the first time determined the T1 values of twelve typical soil organic P compounds using the inversion recovery method. Furthermore, we examined the effect of co-existing paramagnetic ions (e.g., Fe3+ and Mn2+) on the reduction of the T1 values of these compounds. Without the addition of paramagnetic ions, the T1 values of twelve model P compounds ranged from 0.61 s for phytic acid to 9.65 s for orthophosphate. In contrast, the presence of paramagnetic ion significantly shortened the T1 values of orthophosphate, pyrophosphate, and phytic acid to 1.29, 1.26, and 0.07 s, respectively, except that of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) remaining unchanged. Additionally, we evaluated the feasibility of improving the efficiency of quantitative 31P NMR analysis via addition of paramagnetic ion. Results show that, after an addition of 50 mg L-1 paramagnetic ions, 31P NMR measurement can be 3 times more efficient, attributed to the reduced T1 and the corresponding recycle delay.
