Habitat degradation and loss of genetic diversity are common threats faced by almost all of today's wild cats. Big cats, such as tigers and lions, are of great concern and have received considerable conservation attention through policies and international actions. However, knowledge of and conservation actions for small wild cats are lagging considerably behind. The black-footed cat, Felis nigripes, one of the smallest felid species, is experiencing increasing threats with a rapid reduction in population size. However, there is a lack of genetic information to assist in developing effective conservation actions. A de novo assembly of a high-quality chromosome-level reference genome of the black-footed cat was made, and comparative genomics and population genomics analyses were carried out. These analyses revealed that the most significant genetic changes in the evolution of the black-footed cat are the rapid evolution of sensory and metabolic-related genes, reflecting genetic adaptations to its characteristic nocturnal hunting and a high metabolic rate. Genomes of the black-footed cat exhibit a high level of inbreeding, especially for signals of recent inbreeding events, which suggest that they may have experienced severe genetic isolation caused by habitat fragmentation. More importantly, inbreeding associated with two deleterious mutated genes may exacerbate the risk of amyloidosis, the dominant disease that causes mortality of about 70% of captive individuals. Our research provides comprehensive documentation of the evolutionary history of the black-footed cat and suggests that there is an urgent need to investigate genomic variations of small felids worldwide to support effective conservation actions.

DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) are functionally linked to genomic instability in spermatocytes and to male infertility. The heavy metal cadmium (Cd) is known to induce DNA damage in spermatocytes by unknown mechanisms. Here, we showed that Cd ions impaired the canonical non-homologous end-joining (NHEJ) repair pathway, but not the homologous recombination (HR) repair pathway, through stimulation of Ser2056 and Thr2609 phosphorylation of DNA-PKcs at DSB sites. Hyper-phosphorylation of DNA-PKcs led to its premature dissociation from DNA ends and the Ku complex, preventing recruitment of processing enzymes and further ligation of DNA ends. Specifically, this cascade was initiated by the loss of PP5 phosphatase activity, which results from the dissociation of PP5 from its activating ions (Mn), that is antagonized by Cd ions through a competitive mechanism. In accordance, in a mouse model Cd-induced genomic instability and consequential male reproductive dysfunction were effectively reversed by a high dosage of Mn ions. Together, our findings corroborate a protein phosphorylation-mediated genomic instability pathway in spermatocytes that is triggered by exchange of heavy metal ions.

The presence of mutations in the BRCA1 gene (MIM: 113705) is widely recognized as a significant genetic predisposition for ovarian cancer. This study investigated the genomic mutations in a Chinese family with a history of ovarian, breast, and rectal adenocarcinoma. A novel germline mutation (Phe1695Val) in BRCA1 was identified through whole-exome sequencing. Subsequently, we performed whole-genome sequencing to identify somatic mutations and analyze mutational signatures in individuals carrying the novel germline mutation. Our findings revealed a correlation between somatic mutational signatures and the BRCA1 germline mutation in the proband with ovarian cancer, while no such association was observed in the tumor tissue from the patient with breast cancer. Furthermore, distinct somatic driver mutations were identified, a truncated mutation in the TP53 gene in the ovarian tumor tissue, and a hotspot mutation in the PIK3CA gene in the breast cancer. According to our findings, the BRCA1 F1695V mutation is linked to ovarian cancer susceptibility in the family and causes specific somatic mutational profiles.

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) exhibit essential regulation in the malignant development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). This study aims to investigate the physiological mechanisms of circ_0029343 encoded by scavenger receptor class B member 1 (SCARB1) involved in the growth and metastasis of HCC. Differentially expressed mRNAs in HCC were obtained, followed by the prediction of target genes of differentially expressed miRNAs and gene ontology and kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes analysis on the differentially expressed mRNAs. Moreover, the regulatory relationship between circRNAs encoded by SCARB1 and differentially expressed miRNAs was predicted. In vitro cell experiments were performed to verify the effects of circ_0029343, miR-486-5p, and SRSF3 on the malignant features of HCC cells using the gain- or loss-of-function experiments. Finally, the effects of circ_0029343 on the growth and metastasis of HCC cells in xenograft mouse models were also explored. It was found that miR-486-5p might interact with seven circRNAs encoded by SCARB1, and its possible downstream target gene was SRSF3. Moreover, SRSF3 was associated with the splicing of various RNA. circ_0029343 could sponge miR-486-5p to up-regulate SRSF3 and activate PDGF-PDGFRB (platelet-derived growth factor and its receptor, receptor beta) signaling pathway by inducing p73 splicing, thus promoting the proliferation, migration, and invasion and inhibiting apoptosis of HCC cells. In vivo, animal experiments further confirmed that overexpression of circ_0029343 could promote the growth and metastasis of HCC cells in nude mice. circ_0029343 encoded by SCARB1 may induce p73 splicing and activate the PDGF-PDGFRB signaling pathway through the miR-486-5p/SRSF3 axis, thus promoting the growth and metastasis of HCC cells.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a prevalent form of gastrointestinal malignancy with challenges in chemotherapy resistance and side effects. Effective and low toxic drugs for CRC treatment are urgently needed. Ferroptosis is a novel mode of cell death, which has garnered attention for its therapeutic potential against cancer. Baicalein (5, 6, 7-trihydroxyflavone) is the primary flavone extracted from the dried roots of Scutellaria baicalensis that exhibits anticancer effects against several malignancies including CRC. In this study, we investigated whether baicalein induced ferroptosis in CRC cells. We showed that baicalein (1-64 µM) dose-dependently inhibited the viability of human CRC lines HCT116 and DLD1. Co-treatment with the ferroptosis inhibitor liproxstatin-1 (1 µM) significantly mitigated baicalein-induced CRC cell death, whereas autophagy inhibitor chloroquine (25 µM), necroptosis inhibitor necrostatin-1 (10 µM), or pan-caspase inhibitor Z-VAD-FMK (10 µM) did not rescue baicalein-induced CRC cell death. RNA-seq analysis confirmed that the inhibitory effect of baicalein on CRC cells is associated with ferroptosis induction. We revealed that baicalein (7.5-30 µM) dose-dependently decreased the expression levels of GPX4, key regulator of ferroptosis, in HCT116 and DLD1 cells by blocking janus kinase 2 (JAK2)/STAT3 signaling pathway via direct interaction with JAK2, ultimately leading to ferroptosis in CRC cells. In a CRC xenograft mouse model, administration of baicalein (10, 20 mg/kg, i.g., every two days for two weeks) dose-dependently inhibited the tumor growth with significant ferroptosis induced by inhibiting the JAK2/STAT3/GPX4 axis in tumor tissue. This study demonstrates that ferroptosis contributes to baicalein-induced anti-CRC activity through blockade of the JAK2/STAT3/GPX4 signaling pathway, which provides evidence for the therapeutic application of baicalein against CRC.

Delay discounting (DD) refers to a phenomenon that humans tend to choose small-sooner over large-later rewards during intertemporal choices. Steep discounting of delayed outcome is related to a variety of maladaptive behaviors and is considered as a transdiagnostic process across psychiatric disorders. Previous studies have investigated the association between brain structure (e.g. gray matter volume) and DD; however, it is unclear whether the intracortical myelin (ICM) influences DD. Here, based on a sample of 951 healthy young adults drawn from the Human Connectome Project, we examined the relationship between ICM, which was measured by the contrast of T1w and T2w images, and DD and further tested whether the identified associations were mediated by the regional homogeneity (ReHo) of brain spontaneous activity. Vertex-wise regression analyses revealed that steeper DD was significantly associated with lower ICM in the left temporoparietal junction (TPJ) and right middle-posterior cingulate cortex. Region-of-interest analysis revealed that the ReHo values in the left TPJ partially mediated the association of its myelin content with DD. Our findings provide the first evidence that cortical myelination is linked with individual differences in decision impulsivity and suggest that the myelin content affects cognitive performances partially through altered local brain synchrony.

Frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) laser ranging technology is an important development direction of light detection and ranging (LiDAR) for the future. It has the advantages of high ranging accuracy, high resolution, wide range, and no ranging blind zone. A distributed feedback laser can be used as a high-quality light source in FMCW laser ranging systems because of its wide frequency modulation range, simple frequency modulation mode, and small package. Aiming at the nonlinear problem of the laser in the frequency modulation process, we present a novel, to our knowledge, predistortion algorithm based on interpolation linear fitting to enhance the linearity of the FMCW laser for LiDAR systems. The sweeping frequency curve of the laser is obtained using the Hilbert transform, and then the sweeping frequency curve is segmented and linearly fitted to calculate the interpolated driving current signals corresponding to linear frequency changes. Using this method, we achieved a nonlinearity error lower than 1e-7 for the swept-frequency signal and demonstrated that the ranging error is less than ±5c m at a distance of 100 m in the FMCW system. In addition, we also demonstrated a 3D static object point cloud with high imaging quality. Compared with the iterative predistortion algorithm based on the function fitting, this method avoids fitting errors at the inflection points of the triangular swept-frequency signal and the complexity of multiple iterative calculations. It enables rapid generation of pre-distorted swept-frequency signals, making it particularly suitable for real-time applications of automotive LiDAR systems.

OBJECTIVE: Bayesian network (BN) models were developed to explore the specific relationships between influencing factors and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), coronary heart disease (CAD), and their comorbidities. The aim was to predict disease occurrence and diagnose etiology using these models, thereby informing the development of effective prevention and control strategies for T2DM, CAD, and their comorbidities. METHOD: Employing a case-control design, the study compared individuals with T2DM, CAD, and their comorbidities (case group) with healthy counterparts (control group). Univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analyses were conducted to identify disease-influencing factors. The BN structure was learned using the Tabu search algorithm, with parameter estimation achieved through maximum likelihood estimation. The predictive performance of the BN model was assessed using the confusion matrix, and Netica software was utilized for visual prediction and diagnosis. RESULT: The study involved 3,824 participants, including 1,175 controls, 1,163 T2DM cases, 982 CAD cases, and 504 comorbidity cases. The BN model unveiled factors directly and indirectly impacting T2DM, such as age, region, education level, and family history (FH). Variables like exercise, LDL-C, TC, fruit, and sweet food intake exhibited direct effects, while smoking, alcohol consumption, occupation, heart rate, HDL-C, meat, and staple food intake had indirect effects. Similarly, for CAD, factors with direct and indirect effects included age, smoking, SBP, exercise, meat, and fruit intake, while sleeping time and heart rate showed direct effects. Regarding T2DM and CAD comorbidities, age, FBG, SBP, fruit, and sweet intake demonstrated both direct and indirect effects, whereas exercise and HDL-C exhibited direct effects, and region, education level, DBP, and TC showed indirect effects. CONCLUSION: The BN model constructed using the Tabu search algorithm showcased robust predictive performance, reliability, and applicability in forecasting disease probabilities for T2DM, CAD, and their comorbidities. These findings offer valuable insights for enhancing prevention and control strategies and exploring the application of BN in predicting and diagnosing chronic diseases.

INTRODUCTION: Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) is one of the most common adverse events following orthognathic surgery. It's a distressing feeling for patients and continues to be the cause of postoperative complications such as bleeding, delayed healing, and wound infection. This scoping review aims to identify effective PONV prophylaxis strategies during orthognathic surgery that have emerged in the past 15 years. METHODS: We searched Pubmed, Cochrane Controlled Register of Trials, and Embase from 2008 to May 2023. Studies meeting the following criteria were eligible for inclusion: (1) recruited patients undergo any orthognathic surgery; (2) evaluated any pharmacologic or non-pharmacologic method to prevent PONV. Studies meeting the following criteria were excluded: (1) case series, review papers, or retrospective studies; (2) did not report our prespecified outcomes. RESULTS: Twenty-one studies were included in this review. Pharmacological methods for PONV prevention include ondansetron and dexamethasone (3 studies), peripheral nerve block technique (4 studies), dexmedetomidine (1 study), pregabalin (2 studies), nefopam (2 studies), remifentanil (1 study), propofol (2 studies), and penehyclidine (1 study). Non-pharmacologic methods include capsicum plaster (1 study), throat packs (2 studies) and gastric aspiration (2 studies). CONCLUSIONS: Based on current evidence, we conclude that prophylactic antiemetics like dexamethasone, ondansetron, and penehyclidine are the first defense against PONV. Multimodal analgesia with nerve block techniques and non-opioid analgesics should be considered due to their notable opioid-sparing and PONV preventive effect. For the non-pharmacological methods, throat packs are not recommended for routine use because of their poor effect and serious complications. More prospective RCTs are required to confirm whether gastric aspiration can prevent PONV effectively for patients undergoing orthognathic surgery.

Autonomous driving, as a pivotal technology in modern transportation, is progressively transforming the modalities of human mobility. In this domain, vehicle detection is a significant research direction that involves the intersection of multiple disciplines, including sensor technology and computer vision. In recent years, many excellent vehicle detection methods have been reported, but few studies have focused on summarizing and analyzing these algorithms. This work provides a comprehensive review of existing vehicle detection algorithms and discusses their practical applications in the field of autonomous driving. First, we provide a brief description of the tasks, evaluation metrics, and datasets for vehicle detection. Second, more than 200 classical and latest vehicle detection algorithms are summarized in detail, including those based on machine vision, LiDAR, millimeter-wave radar, and sensor fusion. Finally, this article discusses the strengths and limitations of different algorithms and sensors, and proposes future trends.

Magnetic skyrmions are real-space topological spin textures, which have attracted increasing attention from the nanospintronics community. Toward functional skyrmionics, the efficient manipulation of skyrmions is a prerequisite, which has been successfully demonstrated through electrical, thermal, optical, and other means. Here, through integrating an interfacially asymmetric Ta/CoFeB/MgO multilayer with an on-chip wire that induces Oersted fields and their gradients, we show experimentally the generation and topology-dependent motion of Néel type skyrmions at room temperature. In particular, an opposite longitudinal motion for skyrmions with opposite topological charges along the gradient direction is observed. Through comparing with the well-known Stern-Gerlach experiment, in which the splitting of atomic spins under magnetic field gradients was observed, our work identifies another interesting aspect of the topological character of skyrmions. The present study could also be implemented for designing novel on-chip skyrmionic devices in which the manipulation of skyrmions cannot be done by electrical means.

BACKGROUND: Paraprobiotics and postbiotics have shown potential in the treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC). However, their in vivo application is still in its infancy and their mechanisms of action are not well understood. RESULTS: Here, we investigated the mitigation effects of Limosilactobacillus fermentum HF06-derived paraprobiotic (6-PA) and postbiotic (6-PS) on dextran sulfate sodium induced UC and the potential mechanisms. Results indicated that the administration of 6-PA and 6-PS resulted in the inhibition of weight loss and colon shortening in mice with UC. Furthermore, they led to a significant reduction in both fecal moisture content and the levels of proinflammatory cytokines and oxidative stress in the intestine of the mice. 6-PA and 6-PS treatment strengthened the intestinal mucosal barrier by dramatically upregulating the levels of zonula occludens-1 and occludin proteins. In addition, 6-PA and 6-PS restored intestinal dysbiosis by regulating abundances of certain bacteria, such as Bifidobacterium, Faecalibaculum, Muribaculaceae, Corynebacterium, Escherichia-Shigella and Clostridium_sensu_stricto_1, and regulated the level of short-chain fatty acids. CONCLUSION: These findings illustrated for the first time that L. fermentum HF06-derived paraprobiotic and postbiotic enhanced the intestinal barrier function, and restored gut microbiota alterations. © 2023 Society of Chemical Industry.

Biomarkers detection in blood with high accuracy is crucial for the diagnosis and treatment of many diseases. In this study, the proof-of-concept fabrication of a dual-mode sensor based on a single probe (Re-BChE) using a dual-signaling electrochemical ratiometric strategy and a "turn-on" fluorescent method is presented. The probe Re-BChE was synthesized in a single step and demonstrated dual mode response toward butyrylcholinesterase (BChE), a promising biomarker of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Due to the specific hydrolysis reaction, the probe Re-BChE demonstrated a turn-on current response for BChE at -0.28 V, followed by a turn-off current response at -0.18 V, while the fluorescence spectrum demonstrated a turn-on response with an emission wavelength of 600 nm. The developed ratiometric electrochemical sensor and fluorescence detection demonstrated high sensitivity with BChE concentrations with a low detection limit of 0.08 µg mL-1 and 0.05 µg mL-1, respectively. Importantly, the dual-mode sensor presents the following advantages: (1) dual-mode readout can correct the impact of systematic or background error, thereby achieving more accurate results; (2) the responses of dual-mode readout originate from two distinct mechanisms and relatively independent signal transduction, in which there is no interference between two signaling routes. Additionally, compared with the reported single-signal electrochemical assays for BChE, both redox potential signals were detected in the absence of biological interference within a negative potential window. Furthermore, it was discovered that the outcomes of direct dual-mode electrochemical and fluorescence quantifications of the level of BChE in serum were in agreement with those obtained from the use of commercially available assay kits for BChE sensing. This method has the potential to serve as a useful point-of-care tool for the early detection of AD.

BACKGROUND: Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) HOTAIR acts importantly in liver cancer development, but its effect on radioresistance remains poorly understood. Here, our study probed into the possible impact of HOTAIR in radioresistance in liver cancer stem cells (LCSCs) and to elucidate its molecular basis. METHODS: Following sorting of stem and non-stem liver cancer cells, LCSCs were identified and subjected to RNA-seq analysis for selecting differentially expressed genes. Expression of HOTAIR was determined in liver cancer tissues and CSCs. The stemness, proliferation, apoptosis and radioresistance of LCSCs were then detected in response to altered expression of HOTAIR-LSD1-JMJD6-BRD4. RESULTS: Ectopic HOTAIR expression was found to promote radioresistance of LCSCs by maintaining its stemness. Mechanistic investigations indicated that HOTAIR recruited LSD1 to the MAPK1 promoter region and reduced the level of H3K9me2 in the promoter region, thus elevating ERK2 (MAPK1) expression. JMJD6-BRD4 complex promoted HOTAIR transcription by forming a complex and positively regulated ERK2 (MAPK1) expression, maintaining the stemness of LCSCs, and ultimately promoting their radioresistance in vitro and in vivo. CONCLUSION: Collectively, our work highlights the promoting effect of the JMJD6-BRD4 complex on the radioresistance of LCSCs through a HOTAIR-dependent mechanism.

Many cancers, including triple-negative breast cancer, overexpress TROP2 on the surface of tumor cells. TROP2 has become a promising tumor associated antigen for the development of novel antibody-based targeted therapy. Herein, we constructed a novel bispecific antibody with the ability to simultaneously target TROP2 on the tumor surface and bind to CD3 to activate T cells. Given that the excessive production of Th1 cytokines induced by CD3-mediated T-cell overactivation may lead to toxicity in the clinic, we devised a strategy to modify this CD3-induced T cell activation by a two-step reduction in the bispecific antibody binding affinity for CD3 to a level that retained the ability of the bispecific antibody to effectively inhibit tumor growth while greatly reducing the amount of Th1 cytokines secreted by T cells. Thus, we provide insight into the design of T cell engagers that exhibit a promising toxicity profile while retaining inhibitory effects on tumor growth.

To uncover the potential effect of Perindopril on cardiac fibrosis caused by pressure overload and the underlying mechanism. Cardiac fibrosis model in mice was established by TAC method. Mice were assigned into sham group, TAC group, 2 mg/kg Perindopril group (Per (2 mg/kg)) and 8 mg/kg Perindopril group (Per (8 mg/kg)). Cardiac structure changes were assessed by measuring HW/BW, HW/TBL, LW/BW and LW/TBL in each group. Echocardiography was performed to assess mouse cardiac function by recording EF, LVIDd, IVSd and LVPWd. Relative levels of fibrosis markers were determined. AngII content was examined by ELISA. Besides, mRNA levels of key genes in the AngII/AT1R pathway were finally detected. TAC induced cardiac insufficiency, left ventricular dilatation, cardiac hypertrophy and myocardial collagen deposition in mice. In addition, fibrosis markers were upregulated in mice of TAC group. Perindopril markedly reversed TAC-induced pathological changes in cardiac structure and function of mice. Meanwhile, Perindopril dose-dependently reversed the upregulated genes in the AngII/AT1R pathway. Perindopril improves cardiac fibrosis induced by pressure overload through activating the AngII/AT1R pathway.

The development of high performance two-dimensional thermoelectric (TE) materials is crucial for enhancing the conversion of waste heat into electricity and for achieving the transition to new energy. In recent years, two-dimensional Dirac materials with high carrier mobility and non-trivial topological properties have been expected to extend the application of carbon-based materials in the TE field. However, research on the TE properties of two-dimensional Dirac materials is still scarce, and the relevant physical mechanisms that affect the TE figure of merit of the materials are still unclear. Therefore, we carefully selected a typical and experimentally synthesized Dirac structure, graphenylene, and systematically studied its thermal transport and electrical transport properties using density functional theory (DFT) and Boltzmann transport theory. The results show that the ZT value of graphenylene exhibits an extremely significant anisotropy. There is a significant discrepancy in the figure of merit (ZT) values of n-type and p-type systems at the optimum doping concentration, i.e., the ZT value of the n-type system (0.49) is one order of magnitude greater than that of the p-type system (0.06). Graphenylene exhibits excellent electronic performance due to its unique electronic band structure and has an extremely high conductivity (for the n-type system, electrical conductivity at room temperature is 109 S m-1). Interestingly, graphenylene has an unusually higher ZT at low temperature (0.5 at 300 K) than at high temperature (0.3 at 800 K) for n-type doping along the x-axis, contrary to the conventional view that higher ZT values exist in the high temperature range. This work provides a deep insight into the TE properties of two-dimensional Dirac carbon materials and offers new perspectives for enhancing the TE performance and application of carbon-based nanomaterials.

DNA methylation is an important epigenetic regulator in gene expression and has several roles in cancer and disease progression. MethHC version 2.0 (MethHC 2.0) is an integrated and web-based resource focusing on the aberrant methylomes of human diseases, specifically cancer. This paper presents an updated implementation of MethHC 2.0 by incorporating additional DNA methylomes and transcriptomes from several public repositories, including 33 human cancers, over 50 118 microarray and RNA sequencing data from TCGA and GEO, and accumulating up to 3586 manually curated data from >7000 collected published literature with experimental evidence. MethHC 2.0 has also been equipped with enhanced data annotation functionality and a user-friendly web interface for data presentation, search, and visualization. Provided features include clinical-pathological data, mutation and copy number variation, multiplicity of information (gene regions, enhancer regions, and CGI regions), and circulating tumor DNA methylation profiles, available for research such as biomarker panel design, cancer comparison, diagnosis, prognosis, therapy study and identifying potential epigenetic biomarkers. Reproductive traits are essential economic traits in goats. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) within the genes of GLRB, GRIA2, and GASK1B, and reproductive traits (kidding traits and placental traits) in goats. We used the resequencing data of 150 Dazu Black Goats to perform correlation analysis with the average litter size. We screened thirteen SNPs loci in introns and then used the Sanger method to genotype the remaining 150 Dazu Black Goats. The results showed that a total of six SNPs were screened. Three SNPs related to litter size and live litter size (g.28985790T > G, g.28986352A > G, and g.28987976A > G); one SNP related to total cotyledon area (g.29203243G > A); two SNPs related to placental efficiency (g.30189055G > A and g.30193974C > T); one SNP associated with cotyledon support efficiency (g.30193974C > T). The qPCR results showed that GLRB, GRIA2, and GASK1B were all highly expressed in the udder, kidney, uterus, and ovary. It indicated that these three candidate genes might affect the reproductive traits, which could be used as candidate markers for reproductive traits in Dazu Black Goats. Moreover, association studies on a large scale are still needed to figure out what effect these SNPs have on reproductive traits.

Protein-templated molecularly imprinted polymers have limitations such as poor mass transfer, slow recognition kinetics, and difficulties in isolation and purification due to their large molecular sizes, complex structures, and flexible conformations. To address these limitations and obtain lysozyme (Lyz)-imprinted polymers, a molecularly imprinted polymer (UiO66@DES-MIPs) was prepared for the first time by using Lyz as a template molecule, a metal-organic framework (UiO66-NH2) as a matrix, and a water-compatible deep eutectic solvent (DES) as a functional monomer. The introduction of UiO66-NH2 by the solvothermal method with a large specific surface area and favorable stability and resistance to environmental disturbances into the MIPs can reduce the "embedding" phenomenon and acquire a higher binding capacity and fast mass transfer. In addition, a water-soluble binary DES (1:2 molar ratio of choline chloride to 1,3 dimethylurea) prepared by a hydrothermal method as a functional monomer generates multiple forces with Lyz, increasing the hydrophilicity of UiO66@DES-MIPs and contributing to the formation and stabilization of the imprinted sites. Consequently, UiO66@DES-MIPs exhibited good selectivity, water compatibility, and fast adsorption equilibrium (the adsorption equilibrated at 243.87 ± 4.88 mg g-1 in 90 min). Besides, reusability experiments indicated that the UiO66@DES-MIPs could be recycled six times without obvious loss of adsorption capacity. The imprinting factor of UiO66@DES-MIPs is 3.67. The isolation and purification of Lyz from egg white confirmed the practicability of UiO66@DES-MIPs. The high adsorption capacity and specific recognition make this polymer a promising candidate for the isolation and purification of biological macromolecules.
