A rare presentation of spontaneous rupture of splenic vein aneurysm as cardiac arrest: A case report.

Splenic vein aneurysm (SVA) is a rare condition associated primarily with portal hypertension. This case highlights a potentially fatal, rare SVA complication in a young patient who presented in cardiac arrest, creating a diagnostic enigma in the emergency department until a POCUS revealed a possible underlying etiology.

Vascular injuries are one of the most feared complications of orthopedic emergencies such as fractures and dislocations. The proximity of neurovascular structures to most of the long bones and major joints makes them more vulnerable to injury. A proper and repeated clinical examination is always advised for early diagnosis and prompt management of these complications in the emergency department. We present a case of delayed extensive thrombosis of upper limb arteries, one of the rare complications of closed posterior elbow dislocation managed by surgical thrombectomy.

Hyponatremia and extrapontine myelinolysis in a patient with COVID-19: A case report.

Until we have strong evidence to the contrary, symptomatic hyponatremia should be treated with extra caution in COVID-19 co-infection patients as the latter could be another risk factor for the development of extrapontine myelinolysis.
