RESUMO

One of the main problems of nutrition of children and adolescents is to assess chemical contamination of baby food products and the establishment of the relation with the health of the child population. With the entering different chemical compounds in the body of the child there can be observed disorders of the nervous, urinary, cardiovascular system, gastrointestinal tract, as well as metabolic deteriorations, degenerative processes in parenchymal organs and bone destruction. The aim of the study was to analyze data on chemical contamination of baby food products in the Russian Federation for 2012-2014. The analysis was executed on the data of Federal Information Fund of social and hygienic monitoring of the Russian Federation. There were identified priority pollutants (toxic elements, nitrites, nitrates, nitrosamines, pesticides, hydroxymethylfurfural, mycotoxins) and risk areas (the Lipetsk region, the Krasnodar Territory, the Republic of Adygea, city of Moscow, Tatarstan, the Kabardino-Balkar Republic, the Ryazan region). There are detected contamination levels not exceeding MAC (in the dynamics of the three years offollow up, on average 22%), requiring their hygienic assessment. There were determined the baby food products containing most common occurred chemical contaminants: fruits and vegetables products, canned products, canned meat, cereals, dairy products, liquid and adapted and partially adapted milk formalas. Identified data indicate to a need for further studies of chemical substances in products for children's nutrition in order to establish the causal relationships with a various diseases and the substantiation of methodological approaches to the risk assessment of combined exposure to chemical contaminants in concentrations up to the MPC on health of children, including infants.

RESUMO

The paper generalizes the experience of formation of protection system against biological threats and ensuring sanitary and epidemiological welfare during preparation for the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games of 2014 in Sochi. The basic steps for creating this system, since 2007, participation and role of Rospotrebnadzor in this process are shown. The paper deals with such questions as the governmental and administrative structures with federal agencies interaction, development of a regulatory framework governing the safety system of the Olympic Games, development of algorithms of information exchange and management decisions, biological safety in developing infrastructure in Sochi.

RESUMO

The paper presents the results of examination of the chemical and radionuclide composition of natural waters and snow cover in Moscow. Areas with abnormal contents of tritium are found in the underground and surface waters and snow cover. The high concentrations of strontium, boron, fluorine, and barium are ascertained to be associated with natural factors. Areas of technogenically polluted underground waters are identified. Recommendations are given for further studies. Particular emphasis is laid on that the artesian wells that are a reservoir source of water supply under emergency are to be revised.

RESUMO

The paper presents data on motor transport pollution of the ambient air. From 1986 to 1996, the number of cars increased from 600,000 to 2,000,000, in Moscow the pollution index rose from 1.0 to 9.0. Motor transport is a source of noise and its proportion in the total noise is as high as 80%. In 1996, the noise threshold was 78-88 dBA. On the whole, the noise levels have increased by 5-6 dBA in the past decade. Experts' estimates indicate that 70-80% of Moscow inhabitants live in the areas of acoustic discomfort made by transport vehicles. Since the early 1990s, i.e. when the number of transport vehicles began drastically increasing, there has been an increase in the incidence of coronary heart disease and cerebrovascular diseases whose risk factors include noise and atmospheric pollution. Their incidence is on the rise every year, the changes in their rates correlate with increase in the number of motor vehicles and the atmospheric pollution index. The morbidity rates for chronic respiratory diseases in children and adults are presented, they are closely related to the increased number of cars and the higher index of atmospheric pollution. In the past 6 years, the total morbidity in infants of the first year of life has increased by 40%; the incidence of diseases of the nervous system, sense organs, and blood has shown a 1.5-fold increase, that of congenital malformations has twice grown. Poorer health in infants under 1 year is associated with the health in infants under 1 year is associated with the health of their mothers exposed to motor transport discharges. The findings strongly suggest that motor transport has an adverse effect on the population of Moscow and support that health of different populations is a criterion of sanitary and epidemiological well-being.
