RESUMO

The improved thermal performance of recently discovered hybridized nanofluids has become essential in large scale thermal processes. In fact, this is highly efficient technique to introduce the thermal efficiency of tranditional heat transferring fluids. The behavior of the nanofluid can be significantly impacted by the unsteady heating and magnetic field effects that may be present in many applications. Therefore, the current study investigat the unsteady magnetized flow of hybrid nanofluid with heat transport characteristics subject to thermal radiation and slip at the surface wall. The shrinking/stretching surface is chosen as a flow source, which is frequently occure in polymer technology, which deals with the deformability of elastic sheets, and in metallurgy, where continued strips are cooled. The novel form of shrinking surface flow is fundamentally a reverse flow and exhibits physical characteristics that differ significantly from the channel flow scenario. The distinctive features of this scruinity is the use of empirical relations to approximate the optimum thermophysical attributes of a Cu-Al2O3/ water hybrid nanofluid in order to model the 2-dimensional flow past a flat shrinking/stretching sheet under the action of radiation, Lorentz forces and realastic boundary condition responses. The governing system of modelled equation are assembled using the Tiwari-Das model in conjunction with a hybrid mass-based nanofluid model. The bvp4c algorithm is employed within the computer MATLAB programme. The hybrid nanofluid flow shows conclusive improvement in the frictional coefficient and heat transport performance. However, the effectiveness the unsteadiness parameter deteriorates the heat transmission. In the contiguity of a suction parameter, multiple outcomes appear to arise for both stretched and shrinking instances. The coefficient of energy transport improves as the magnetic factor is augmented, however the skin coefficient of friction exhibits dual behavior for the second solutions. A time-dependence investigation is undertaken to figure out the reliability of the twin solutions, and it is discovered that merely one of them remains stable and aesthetically credible.

RESUMO

Till now Mg-based alloys have attracted much attention due to the high storage capacity of hydrogen. An effort was made to evaluate the apparent activation energy and electrochemical behavior of transition metals such as scandium (Sc), zirconium (Zr), and niobium (Nb) alloyed with Mg-Ti. Mg0.8Ti0.2, Mg0.6Ti0.2Sc0.2, Mg0.6Ti0.2Zr0.2, and Mg0.6Ti0.2Nb0.2 alloy powders were synthesized using high-energy ball milling. Ballmilled powders were subjected to structural and morphological characterization using X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy respectively. A strong shift in the inter-planar spacing value of milled powders confirmed supersaturated solid solution of Ti and transition metals in Mg. The inter-planar spacing values before and after milling are found to be 0.24 and 0.21 nm, respectively. Mg0.8Ti0.2, Mg0.6Ti0.2Sc0.2, and Mg0.6Ti0.2Zr0.2 alloy powders result in the FCC phase while Mg0.6Ti0.2Nb0.2 powders result in BCC phase, however, the entire powders have an amorphous background. SEM-EDS analysis of the milled powders confirmed the presence of Mg, Ti, Sc, Zr, and Nb elements with a small amount of oxygen. Selected area electron diffraction (SAED) pattern of Mg0.8Ti0.2 alloy powders exhibits a nanocrystalline nature owing to their polycrystalline ring pattern. Exothermic peak broadening increases after the substitution of Nb and Zr in Mg0.8Ti0.2 alloy powder, which exhibits a lower activation energy (188 kJ mol-1) than others. In cyclic voltammetry, a drenched cathodic peak is observed for Mg0.8Ti0.2 at a potential around -0.83 V. In electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, the charge transfer resistance of Mg0.6Ti0.2Sc0.2 is lower than that of Mg0.6Ti0.2Zr0.2 and Mg0.6Ti0.2Nb0.2 alloy but higher than Mg0.8Ti0.2 electrode materials, and charge-discharge studies were done on the developed electrode materials. It shows that Mg0.8Ti0.2 electrode material delivers a maximum discharge capacity of 535 mA h g-1.

RESUMO

Intoxication with methanol most commonly occurs as a consequence of ingesting, inhaling, or coming into contact with formulations that include methanol as a base. Clinical manifestations of methanol poisoning include suppression of the central nervous system, gastrointestinal symptoms, and decompensated metabolic acidosis, which is associated with impaired vision and either early or late blindness within 0.5-4 h after ingestion. After ingestion, methanol concentrations in the blood that are greater than 50 mg/dl should raise some concern. Ingested methanol is typically digested by alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH), and it is subsequently redistributed to the body's water to attain a volume distribution that is about equivalent to 0.77 L/kg. Moreover, it is removed from the body as its natural, unchanged parent molecules. Due to the fact that methanol poisoning is relatively uncommon but frequently involves a large number of victims at the same time, this type of incident occupies a special position in the field of clinical toxicology. The beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in an increase in erroneous assumptions regarding the preventative capability of methanol in comparison to viral infection. More than 1000 Iranians fell ill, and more than 300 of them passed away in March of this year after they consumed methanol in the expectation that it would protect them from a new coronavirus. The Atlanta epidemic, which involved 323 individuals and resulted in the deaths of 41, is one example of mass poisoning. Another example is the Kristiansand outbreak, which involved 70 people and resulted in the deaths of three. In 2003, the AAPCC received reports of more than one thousand pediatric exposures. Since methanol poisoning is associated with high mortality rates, it is vital that the condition be addressed seriously and managed as quickly as feasible. The objective of this review was to raise awareness about the mechanism and metabolism of methanol toxicity, the introduction of therapeutic interventions such as gastrointestinal decontamination and methanol metabolism inhibition, the correction of metabolic disturbances, and the establishment of novel diagnostic/screening nanoparticle-based strategies for methanol poisoning such as the discovery of ADH inhibitors as well as the detection of the adulteration of alcoholic drinks by nanoparticles in order to prevent methanol poisoning. In conclusion, increasing warnings and knowledge about clinical manifestations, medical interventions, and novel strategies for methanol poisoning probably results in a decrease in the death load.

RESUMO

Finding structurally similar compounds in compound databases is highly efficient and is widely used in present-day drug discovery methodology. The most-trusted and -followed similarity indexing method is Tanimoto similarity indexing. Epigenetic proteins like histone deacetylases (HDACs) inhibitors are traditionally used to target cancer, but have only been investigated very recently for their possible effectiveness against rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The synthetic drugs that have been identified and used for the inhibition of HDACs include SAHA, which is being used to inhibit the activity of HDACs of different classes. SAHA was chosen as a compound of high importance as it is reported to inhibit the activity of many HDAC types. Similarity searching using the UNPD database as a reference identified aglaithioduline from the Aglaia leptantha compound as having a ~70% similarity of molecular fingerprints with SAHA, based on the Tanimoto indexing method using ChemmineR. Aglaithioduline is abundantly present in the shell and fruits of A. leptantha. In silico studies with aglaithioduline were carried out against the HDAC8 protein target and showed a binding affinity of -8.5 kcal mol. The complex was further subjected to molecular dynamics simulation using Gromacs. The RMSD, RMSF, compactness and SASA plots of the target with aglaithioduline, in comparison with the co-crystallized ligand (SAHA) system, showed a very stable configuration. The results of the study are supportive of the usage of A. leptantha and A. edulis in Indian traditional medicine for the treatment of pain-related ailments similar to RA. Our study therefore calls for further investigation of A. leptantha and A. edulis for their potential use against RA by targeting epigenetic changes, using in vivo and in vitro studies.

RESUMO

Nowadays, scarcity arises in almost all our basic needs, including water, fuel, and food. Recycling used and scrapped things for a valuable commodity is highly appreciable for compensating for the globally fast-growing demand. This paper aims to investigate waste tyre oil for preparing biodiesel for CI engines by enhancing their performance with hybrid nanoparticles for preparing nanofuel and hybrid nanofuel. The nanoparticles (30-40 nm) of MWCNT and TiO2 were utilized to prepare nanofuels with nanoparticle concentrations of MWCNT (300 ppm) and TiO2 (300 ppm), respectively. In the case of hybrid nanofuel, the nanoparticle concentration of MWCNT (150 ppm) and TiO2 (150 ppm) was preferred. The performance of the proposed nanofuel and hybrid nanofuel with pure diesel was evaluated. The proposed fuel performance outperforms the combustion performance, has higher engine efficiency, and has fewer emissions. The best performances were noticed in hybrid nanofuel that has 32% higher brake thermal efficiency than diesel and 24% and 4% lower BSFC and peak pressure than diesel, respectively. The emission performance is also 29%, 50%, and 13% lower in CO, HC, and CO2 emissions than that in pure diesel.
