RESUMO

Additional covering of the lower pole with allomaterial or its synthetic analogues during immediate breast reconstruction is being perfomed at the N.N. Petrov National Medical Research Oncology Center, Ministry of Healthcare of Russian Federation for last 7 years. Initially, epidermal flap was the only option for lower pole coverage, later ADM was used as part of clinical approbation. Average complication rate ranges from 20-35% due to blood circulatory (supply) disorders. Since 2018, a titanized mesh (TiLoop Bra) been used as a additional coverage of the lower pole. Methods: From July 2018 to April 2019, 103 breast reconstructions were performed using TiLoop-BRA mesh. All operations were performed due to malignant tumors of breast, of which in 94 operations were performed for unilateral breast carcinoma, 9 for bilateral breast carcinoma.74 patients received neoadjuvant therapy, 31 received adjuvant therapy, 17 patients required radiation therapy. Results: Overall complications rates significally decreased. Complete loss of breast implant and mesh endoprosthesis 5.88%, Capsular contracture 17.65 %, Only mesh removal due to painful syndrome 5.88%,* Red breast * syndrome (by analogy with ADM) 5.88%.

RESUMO

Extranodal marginal zone lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT lymphoma) of the urinary bladder is an extremely rare entity accounting for 0.2% of all malignant urinary bladder neoplasms, and the diagnosis could be challenging. We present here a patient with urinary bladder MALT lymphoma and review of all published case reports in the literature. We summarized the reported immunophenotype of the neoplasm, ancillary studies, therapy, and follow-up for all 59 patients in the table. The median patients' age was 57 years-old (range, 17 to 88), with female predominance in 50 of 59 patients representing a 1:5.6 ratio. Geographical distribution of the reported patients was as follows: 22 from Asia, of which more than a half (16) originated from Japan; 28 from Europe, of which 19 reported from the United Kingdom, and 3 patients were reported from the United States (including our patient). Twenty-three (77%) of 30 patients, for whom their clinical presentation was recorded, had symptoms of cystitis; Escherichia coli was the most common pathogen. We concluded that a prominent female predominance, uneven geographic distribution of urinary bladder MALT lymphoma, and a success of antibacterial therapy in selected cases suggest the link between urinary tract infection and urinary bladder MALT lymphoma.

RESUMO

Adenocarcinoma is the most common malignant neoplasm involving breast tissue. In contrast to carcinomas, the other types of malignant neoplasms involving the breast are relatively uncommon. One of the examples of this rare entity is lymphoma. Traditionally, non-Hodgkin lymphomas (NHL) involving the breast are divided into primary lymphoma of the breast and systemic lymphoma, although the distinction could be challenging. Most of NHL involving breast tissue have B cell origin; T cell NHL represents less than 20% of all lymphoma cases. Anaplastic large cell lymphomas (ALCL) involving the breast accounts for even lower percentage of cases. Similar to ALCL involving other sites, there are several main types of ALCL identified: primary cutaneous ALCL and systemic ALCL, which is subdivided into ALK positive and ALK negative subtypes. Relatively recently, an additional distinct subtype of ALK-negative ALCL was described, which is associated with textured breast implants and needs to be considered as a differential diagnosis if patient has a history of breast implants. Here, we report a case of ALCL presented as a breast mass without history of breast implant and discuss similar cases published in the literature.

RESUMO

Breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) is an emerging and indolent, but potentially fatal cancer of the immune system that can develop around textured-surface breast implants. The World Health Organization first recognized BIA-ALCL as a unique clinical entity in 2016. To date, over 600 confirmed cases have been reported worldwide. BIA-ALCL most commonly presents with disease confined to the capsule, as a seroma or a mass adjacent to the implant. While BIA-ALCL has a fairly indolent clinical course, with an excellent prognosis in early stage disease, disseminated cancer and death have also been reported. In this review, the authors focus on the early diagnosis and treatment, including reconstructing the breast following BIA-ALCL, and also discuss recently updated National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines. They also review the current epidemiology and risk factors associated with BIA-ALCL. Finally, they discuss important medicolegal considerations and the bioethics surrounding the continued use of textured-surface breast implants.

RESUMO

Colloidal quantum dots (QDs) combined with a graphene charge transducer promise to provide a photoconducting platform with high quantum efficiency and large intrinsic gain, yet compatible with cost-efficient polymer substrates. The response time in these devices is limited, however, and fast switching is only possible by sacrificing the high sensitivity. Furthermore, tuning the QD size toward infrared absorption using conventional organic capping ligands progressively reduces the device performance characteristics. Here we demonstrate methods to couple large QDs (>6 nm in diameter) with organometal halide perovskites, enabling hybrid graphene phototransistor arrays on plastic foils that simultaneously exhibit a specific detectivity of 5 × 1012 Jones and high video-frame-rate performance. PbI2 and CH3NH3I co-mediated ligand exchange in PbS QDs improves surface passivation and facilitates electronic transport, yielding faster charge recovery, whereas PbS QDs embedded into a CH3NH3PbI3 matrix produce spatially separated photocarriers leading to large gain.

RESUMO

An approach to polymer surface modification using self-assembled layers (SALs) of functional alkoxysilanes has been developed in order to improve the printability of silver nanoparticle inks and enhance adhesion between the metal conducting layer and the flexible polymer substrate. The SALs have been fully characterized by AFM, XPS, and WCA, and the resulting printability, adhesion, and electrical conductivity of the screen-printed metal contacts have been estimated by cross-cut tape test and 4-point probe measurements. It was shown that (3-mercaptopropyl)trimethoxysilane SALs enable significant adhesion improvements for both aqueous- and organic-based silver inks, approaching nearly 100% for PEN and PDMS substrates while exhibiting relatively low sheet resistance up to 0.1 Ω/sq. It was demonstrated that SALs containing functional -SH or -NH2 end groups offer the opportunity to increase the affinity of the polymer substrates to silver inks and thus to achieve efficient patterning of highly conductive structures on flexible and stretchable substrates.

RESUMO

Novel computing technologies that imitate the principles of biological neural systems may offer low power consumption along with distinct cognitive and learning advantages. The development of reliable memristive devices capable of storing multiple states of information has opened up new applications such as neuromorphic circuits and adaptive systems. At the same time, the explosive growth of the printed electronics industry has expedited the search for advanced memory materials suitable for manufacturing flexible devices. Here, we demonstrate that solution-processed MoOx/MoS2 and WOx/WS2 heterostructures sandwiched between two printed silver electrodes exhibit an unprecedentedly large and tunable electrical resistance range from 10(2) to 10(8) Ω combined with low programming voltages of 0.1-0.2 V. The bipolar resistive switching, with a concurrent capacitive contribution, is governed by an ultrathin (<3 nm) oxide layer. With strong nonlinearity in switching dynamics, different mechanisms of synaptic plasticity are implemented by applying a sequence of electrical pulses.

RESUMO

Hampin, homolog of Drosophila MSL1, is a partner of histone acetyltransferase MYST1/MOF. Functions of these proteins remain poorly understood beyond their participation in chromatin remodeling complex MSL. In order to identify new proteins interacting with hampin, we screened a mouse cDNA library in yeast two-hybrid system with mouse hampin as bait and found five high-confidence interactors: MYST1, TPR proteins TTC4 and KIAA0103, NOP17 (homolog of a yeast nucleolar protein), and transcription factor GC BP. Subsequently, all these proteins were used as baits in library screenings and more new interactions were found: tumor suppressor RASSF1C and spliceosome component PRP3 for KIAA0103, ring finger RNF10 for RASSF1C, and RNA polymerase II regulator NELF-C for MYST1. The majority of the observed interactions was confirmed in vitro by pull-down of bacterially expressed proteins. Reconstruction of a fragment of mammalian interactome suggests that hampin may be linked to diverse regulatory processes in the nucleus.
