RESUMO

Identifying hidden states in nonlinear physical systems that evade direct experimental detection is important as disturbances and noises can place the system in a hidden state with detrimental consequences. We study a cavity magnonic system whose main physics is photon and magnon Kerr effects. Sweeping a bifurcation parameter in numerical experiments (as would be done in actual experiments) leads to a hysteresis loop with two distinct stable steady states, but analytic calculation gives a third folded steady state "hidden" in the loop, which gives rise to the phenomenon of hidden multistability. We propose an experimentally feasible control method to drive the system into the folded hidden state. We demonstrate, through a ternary cavity magnonic system and a gene regulatory network, that such hidden multistability is in fact quite common. Our findings shed light on hidden dynamical states in nonlinear physical systems which are not directly observable but can present challenges and opportunities in applications.

RESUMO

Inferior vena cava thrombosis (IVCT) is rare. Thrombophilia is one of the important risk factors. It is also uncommon for gene mutations in F9 gene to cause thrombosis but not hemorrhage. A 35-year-old male patient was admitted to our department with left lower limb swelling without an obvious cause for 1 day. Through contrast-enhanced computed tomography and color Doppler ultrasound, he was found to have lower extremity deep vein thrombosis, IVCT and pulmonary embolism. Through whole-exome sequencing analysis, he was found to carry a 925.7 kb duplication (chrX:137939698-138865419, hg19) encompassing ATP11C , SRD5A1P1 , MCF2 , FGF13 and F9 genes. This duplication of F9 gene was not detected in his parents. Other thrombophilic genes defects were not found. The factor IX activities of this patient, his father and mother were 194, 70 and 148, respectively. He was treated with catheter-directed thrombolysis, AngioJet-assisted pharmaco-mechanical thromboectomy and manual aspiration thromboectomy. Complete recanalization of left femoral, iliac veins and inferior vena cava was achieved. F9 gene duplication is a rare mutation, which can induce multiple venous thrombosis through increasing the activity level of factor IX in plasma. IVCT is a serious type of venous thrombosis. Personalized intervention treatment plans should be developed based on the different clinical characteristics of each case to achieve a higher benefit-risk ratio.

RESUMO

Anthocyanins are among the main pigments involved in the colouration of Asiatic hybrid lily (Lilium spp.). Ethylene, a plant ripening hormone, plays an important role in promoting plant maturation and anthocyanin biosynthesis. However, whether and how ethylene regulates anthocyanin biosynthesis in lily tepals have not been characterized. Using yeast one-hybrid screening, we previously identified an APETALA2 (AP2)/ETHYLENE RESPONSE FACTOR (ERF) named LhERF4 as a potential inhibitor of LhMYBSPLATTER-mediated negative regulation of anthocyanin biosynthesis in lily. Here, transcript and protein analysis of LhERF4, a transcriptional repressor, revealed that LhERF4 directly binds to the promoter of LhMYBSPLATTER. In addition, overexpression of LhERF4 in lily tepals negatively regulates the expression of key structural genes and the total anthocyanin content by suppressing the LhMYBSPLATTER gene. Moreover, the LhERF4 gene inhibits anthocyanin biosynthesis in response to ethylene, affecting anthocyanin accumulation and pigmentation in lily tepals. Collectively, our findings will advance and elucidate a novel regulatory network of anthocyanin biosynthesis in lily, and this research provides new insight into colouration regulation.

RESUMO

Molecular diagnostics play an important role in illness detection, prevention, and treatment, and are vital in point-of-care test. In this investigation, a novel CRISPR/Cas12a based small-molecule detection platform was developed using Antibody-Controlled Cas12a Biosensor (ACCBOR), in which antibody would control the trans-cleavage activity of CRISPR/Cas12a. In this system, small-molecule was labeled around the PAM sites of no target sequence(NTS), and antibody would bind on the labeled molecule to prevent the combination of CRISPR/Cas12a, resulting the decrease of trans-cleavage activity. Biotin-, digoxin-, 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 (25-OH-VD3)-labeled NTS and corresponding binding protein were separately used to verify its preformance, showing great universality. Finally, one-pot detection of 25-OH-VD3 was developed, exhibiting high sensitivity and excellent specificity. The limit of detection could be 259.86 pg/mL in serum within 30 min. This assay platform also has the advantages of low cost, easy operation (one-pot method), and fast detection (∼30 min), would be a new possibilities for the highly sensitive detection of other small-molecule targets.

RESUMO

Biomarkers are the most sensitive reactants and early indicators of many kinds of diseases. The development of highly sensitive and simple techniques to quantify them is challenging. In this study, based on rolling cycle amplification (RCA) and the Nicked PAM/CRISPR-Cas12a system (RNPC) as a signal reporter, a sandwich-type method was developed using antibody@magnetic beads and aptamer for the high-sensitive detection of the C-reactive protein (CRP). The antibody-antigen (target)-aptamer sandwich-like reaction was coupled to RCA, which can produce hundreds of similar binding sites and are discriminated by CRISPR/Cas12a for signal amplification. The ultrasensitivity is achieved based on the dual-signal enhancing strategy, which involves the special recognition of aptamers, RCA, and trans-cleavage of CRISPR/Cas12a. By incorporating the CRISPR/Cas12a system with cleaved PAM, the nonspecific amplification of the RCA reaction alone was greatly reduced, and the dual signal output of RCA and Cas12a improved the detection sensitivity. Our assay can be performed only in two steps. The first step takes only 20 min of target capture, followed by a one-pot reaction, where the target concentration can be obtained by fluorescence values as long as there are 37 °C reaction conditions. Under optimal conditions, this system detected CRP with high sensitivity. The fabricated biosensor showed detection limits of 0.40 pg/mL in phosphate-buffered saline and 0.73 pg/mL in diluted human serum and a broad linear dynamic range of 1.28 pg/mL to 100 ng/mL within a total readout time of 90 min. The method could be used to perform multi-step signal amplification, which can help in the ultrasensitive detection of other proteins. Overall, the proposed biosensor might be used as an immunosensor biosensor platform.

RESUMO

Objective: A retrospective cohort study was conducted to explore the effects of comprehensive nursing based on Orem's self-care theory on symptom improvement and pregnancy outcomes in patients with antiphospholipid syndrome (APS). Methods: Sixty patients with antiphospholipid antibody syndrome treated in our hospital from February 2019 to April 2021 were enrolled. The control group received comprehensive nursing, while the study group received comprehensive nursing based on Orem's self-care theory. Nursing satisfaction, self-nursing ability, anxiety score, social support status, pregnancy outcome, and the score of life quality were compared between the two groups. Results: First of all, we compared the nursing satisfaction, the study group was very satisfied in 23 cases, satisfactory in 5 cases, general in 2 cases, the satisfaction rate was 100.00%. While in the control group, 11 cases were very satisfied, 10 cases were satisfied, 4 cases were general, and 5 cases were dissatisfied, the satisfaction rate was 83.33%. The nursing satisfaction in the study group was higher compared to the control group (P < 0.05). Secondly, the self-concept, sense of self-care responsibility, self-nursing skills, health knowledge, and total score of the study group were higher compared to the control group (P < 0.05). After intervention, the anxiety scores of the two groups decreased. Compared between the two groups, the anxiety scores of the study group before intervention and 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, and 4 weeks after intervention were lower compared to the control group (P < 0.05). The comparison of social support showed that the scores of objective support, subjective support, utilization of support, and total score of social support in the study group were higher compared to the control group (P < 0.05). The number of abortions in the control group was lower compared to the control group, and the number of full-term deliveries was higher compared to the control group (P < 0.05). Finally, we compared the scores of life quality. After nursing, the scores of life quality of the two groups increased. Of note, the scores of physiological function, psychological function, social function, and health self-cognition in the study group were lower compared to the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Comprehensive nursing for patients with APS based on Orem's self-care theory can effectively improve clinical symptoms and pregnancy outcome and play a positive role in facilitating patients' nursing satisfaction and self-nursing ability, which can also effectively strengthen mental health and social support, this nursing model is worth popularizing in clinic.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: The main purpose of this meta-analysis was to evaluate the effect of dual-task training on gait and balance improvement in stroke patients. DESIGN: The PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, MEDLINE, CINAHL, CNKI, Wan Fang, and VIP databases were searched from inception to January 28, 2021, for randomized controlled trials investigating the effect of dual-task training on gait and balance intervention in stroke patients. RESULTS: A total of 17 studies with 575 stroke patients that compared the efficacy and safety of dual-task training with those of conventional physical therapy or single-task training were included in this meta-analysis. The meta-analysis showed that the data were as follows under the dual-task training: step length (mean difference = 2.7, 95% confidence interval = 1.33 to 4.08, P = 0.0001); cadence (mean difference = 5.06, 95% confidence interval = 3.37 to 6.75, P < 0.00001); stride length (mean difference = 7.34, 95% confidence interval = 5.47 to 9.22, P < 0.00001); 10-meter walk test times (mean difference = -2.36, 95% confidence interval = -3.70 to -1.02), P = 0.0006); Berg Balance Scale (mean difference = 3.8, 95% confidence interval = 0.04 to 7.55, P = 0.05); Fugl-Meyer motor assessment of lower extremities (mean difference = 2.27, 95% confidence interval = -1.04 to 5.59, P = 0.18). CONCLUSIONS: This meta-analysis showed that dual-task training can improve stroke patients' step length, cadence, stride length, and 10-meter walk test. However, possible advantages in improving balance function need further exploration.

RESUMO

The genus Lilium contains more than 100 wild species and numerous hybrid varieties. Some species of them have been used as medicine and food since ancient times. However, the research on the active components and the medical properties of lilies has only focused on a few species. In this study, the total phenolic acid content (TPC), total flavonoid content (TFC), and antioxidant capacity of 22 representative lilies were systematically investigated. The results showed that the TPC, TFC and antioxidant activity were highly variable among different lilies, but they were significantly positively correlated. Hierarchical cluster analysis indicated that L. henryi and L. regale were arranged in one group characterized by the highest TPC, TFC and antioxidant capacity, followed by Oriental hybrids and Trumpet and Oriental hybrids. The traditional edible and medicinal lilies were clustered in low TPC, TFC and antioxidant capacity group. A total of 577 secondary metabolites, including 201 flavonoids, 153 phenolic acids, were identified in the five species with great differences in antioxidant capacity by extensive targeted metabonomics. Differentially accumulated metabolites (DAMs) analysis reviewed that the DAMs were mainly enriched in secondary metabolic pathways such as isoflavonoid, folate, flavonoid, flavone, flavonol, phenylpropanoid, isoquinoline alkaloid biosynthesis, nicotinate and nicotinamide metabolism and so on. Correlation analysis identified that 64 metabolites were significantly positively correlated with antioxidant capacity (r ≥ 0.9 and p < 0.0001). These results suggested that the genus Lilium has great biodiversity in bioactive components. The data obtained greatly expand our knowledge of the bioactive constituents of Lilium spp. Additionally, it also highlights the potential application of Lilium plants as antioxidants, functional ingredients, cosmetic products and nutraceuticals.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: The present study investigated how mild moxibustion treatment affects the intestinal microbiome and expression of NLRP3-related immune factors in a rat model of intestinal mucositis (IM) induced with 5-fluorouracil (5-Fu). METHODS: Forty male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into control, chemotherapy, moxibustion and probiotics groups. The IM rat model was established by intraperitoneal injection of 5-Fu. Mild moxibustion treatment and intragastric probiotic administration were provided once daily for 15 days. Tissue morphology, serum levels of inflammatory factors and the expression levels of tight junction proteins, caspase-1, gasdermin D and NLRP3 were evaluated in colon tissue, through hematoxylin and eosin staining, electron microscopy, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, Western blotting, quantitative real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and immunofluorescence. Gut microbiome profiling was conducted through 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing. RESULTS: Moxibustion and probiotic treatments significantly increased the expression levels of tight junction proteins, reduced cell apoptosis and the expression levels of caspase-1, gasdermin D and NLRP3; they also decreased the serum levels of tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin (IL)-6, IL-1ß and IL-18, while increasing serum levels of IL-10. Moxibustion and probiotic treatments also corrected the reduction in α-diversity and ß-diversity in IM rats, greatly increased the proportion of the dominant bacterial genus Lactobacillus and reduced the abundance of the genera Roseburia and Escherichia in chemotherapy-treated rats to levels observed in healthy animals. We also found that these dominant genera were firmly correlated with the regulation of pyroptosis-associated proteins and inflammatory factors. Finally, moxibustion and probiotic treatments elicited similar effects in regulating intestinal host-microbial homeostasis and the expression of NLRP3 inflammasome-related factors. CONCLUSION: Moxibustion exerts its therapeutic effect on IM by ameliorating mucosal damage and reducing inflammation. Moreover, moxibustion modulates the gut microbiota, likely via decreasing the expression levels of the NLRP3 inflammasome.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Previous studies have indicated that rotavirus (RV) is a causative factor for diarrhea and gastroenteritis in pediatric and neonatal settings. Baicalin has many functions, including antibacterial, antiinflammatory, and antihypertensive activities. However, the immunological mechanism of RV-induced diarrhea with heat-dampness syndrome (RV-DH) remains unclear. AIMS: The aim of this study is to explore the role of baicalin in RV-DH diarrhea and its underlying mechanism. METHODS: A mouse model of pediatric RV-DH diarrhea was established and treated with baicalin. The concentrations of cytokines were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Messenger RNA (mRNA) expression levels were detected by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), while protein expression levels were determined by Western blotting and immunohistochemistry. Flow cytometry was used to detect the frequency of lymphocytes. RESULTS: The concentrations of interleukin-1ß (IL-1ß), IL-2, IL-6, IL-8, RVvb, and secretory immunoglobulin A (SIgA) in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) and colonic mucosa were significantly increased in the RV-DH group. Decreased expression of occludin, claudin-1, and zonula occludens-1 (ZO-1) indicated loss of tight junction function and disturbances in intestinal mucosal permeability in the RV-DH group. Flow cytometry analysis showed a high rate of CD8+ lymphocytes and low amount of CD4+ lymphocytes in the RV-DH group. Treatment of RV-DH mice with baicalin significantly reduced the duration of diarrhea and ameliorated the symptoms and pathological and immunological changes. Furthermore, baicalin inhibited STAT1 and activated STAT3 signaling pathways. CONCLUSIONS: These findings indicate the curative and immunoregulatory properties of baicalin and have direct practical and clinical relevance for the treatment of RV-DH enteritis in humans.

RESUMO

Exosome is a kind of nanoscale-size extracellular vesicles secreted by the means of cell active stimulation with outer membrane structure of vacuoles corpuscle. It can carry and transfer a lot of biological molecules, such as DNA fragments, circular RNA (circRNA), messenger RNA (mRNA), microRNA (miRNA), functional proteins, transcription factors, etc., so as to achieve the goal of information transmission between cells. The relationship between exosomes and diabetes has received extensive attention in recent years. The exosomes play an important role in insulin sensitivity, glucose homeostasis and vascular endothelial function. This paper reviews the role of exosomes in the occurrence and development of diabetes and its complications, and discusses the role and prospect of exosomes as a target for diabetes treatment and its role in the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes.

RESUMO

Crosslinked liquid crystalline polymers (CLCPs) containing azobenzene (AZO-CLCPs) are a type of promising material due to their significance in the design of light-driven smart actuators. Developing AZO-CLCP composites by incorporating AZO-CLCPs with other materials is an effective way of enhancing their practicability. Herein, we report an AZO-CLCP/CNT nanocomposite prepared by the in situ polymerization of diacrylates containing azobenzene chromophores on carbon nanotube (CNT) sheets. The liquid crystal phase structure of CLCP matrix was evidenced by the two-dimensional X-ray scattering. The prepared pure AZO-CLCP films and AZO-CLCP/CNT nanocomposite films demonstrated strong reversible photo-triggered deformation under the irradiation of UV light at 366 nm of wavelength, as a result of photo-induced isomerization of azobenzene moieties in the polymer network. But compared to pure AZO-CLCP films, the AZO-CLCP/CNT nanocomposite films could much more rapidly return to their initial shapes after the UV light irradiation was removed due to the elasticity effect of CNT sheets. The deformation behavior of AZO-CLCP/CNT nanocomposite films under the light irradiation was also different from that of the pure AZO-CLCP films due to the interfacial interaction between a polymer network and CNT sheet. Furthermore, incorporation of a CNT sheet remarkably increased the mechanical strength and robustness of the material. We also used this AZO-CLCP/CNT nanocomposite as a microvalve membrane actuator, which can be controlled by light, for a conceptual device of a microfluidic system. The results showed that this AZO-CLCP/CNT nanocomposite may have great potential in smart actuator applications for biological engineering, medical treatment, environment detection and microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), etc.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To study clinical effects of needle Dao for the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome. METHODS: From July 2014 to December 2016, 60 patients with carpal tunnel syndrome were divided into two groups: needle Dao treatment group(treatment group), and brace and medicine treatment group(control group), 30 cases in each group. There were 8 males and 22 females in the treatment group, with an average age of (49.38±7.43) years old. There were 7 males and 23 females in the control group, with an average age of (50.23±8.71) years old. There were no statistically significant differences between two groups before treatment in age, sex, course of disease, sensory nerve conduction velocity (SCV), sensory nerve action potential (SNAP), and distal motor latency(DML). The patients in the treatment group were treated with needle Dao for 1 to 2 times, while the patients in the control group were given celecoxib, vitamin B1 and vitamin B12, with the brace fixed. After treatment, the changes of SCV, SNAP and DML in two groups were observed. RESULTS: After treatment, the SCV were (48.63±7.33) m/s and (41.24±6.15) m/s in treatment group and control group separately, the SNAP were (9.89±3.71) m/s and (8.22±2.19) m/s, and the DML were(5.11±2.28) m/s and (6.13±2.23) m/s. The SCV, SNAP and DML after treatment were better than those before treatment(P<0.05). And the results of SCV, SNAP and DML of patients in the treatment group were better than those of patients in the control group(P<0.001). CONCLUSIONS: Needle Dao can effectively improve the overall treatment efficiency of patients with carpal tunnel syndrome and reduce the symptoms of patients, which is feasible and suitable to use in clinical.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Some studies indicated that children with exclusive breast feeding had a reduction in the prevalence of rotavirus diarrhea, while some others held the opposite views. In this study, we aimed to systematically find the associations between rotavirus diarrhea and breast feeding. METHODS: A literature search up to June 2016 in electronic literature databases, including PubMed and Embase, was performed. The Newcastle-Ottawa Scale was used to conduct the quality assessment of all the selected studies. Statistical analyses were performed using the R package version 3.12 (R Foundation for Statistical Computing, Beijing1, China, meta package), and odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were used to assess the strength of the association. The heterogeneity was assessed by Cochran's Q-statistic and I2 test, and the sensitivity analysis was performed by trimming one study at a time. RESULTS: A total of 17 articles, which included 10,841 participants, were investigated in the present meta-analysis. There was no significant difference between the case group and control group (OR, 0.59 95% CI 0.33-1.07) in the meta-analysis of exclusive breast feeding, and no significant difference was found between the case group and the control group (OR, 0.86; 95% CI 0.63-1.16) in the meta-analysis of breast feeding. No significant difference was found between the case group and control group (OR, 0.78 95% CI 0.59-1.04) for all quantitative data. CONCLUSIONS: There may be no direct correlation between rotavirus diarrhea and breast feeding.

RESUMO

Liquid crystal elastomers (LCEs) are important smart materials that can undergo reversible deformation in response to liquid crystal (LC) phase transitions. A low threshold temperature for LC phase transition is advantageous because the LCE material can be more conveniently actuated by the applied stimulus. In this work, we investigated the effect of a nonliquid crystal chain on the reduction of threshold temperature of the LC phase transition by linking a nonliquid crystal side chain, 4-methoxyphenyl-1-hexenyloxy (MOCH3), to the network backbone of a classical polysiloxane-based side-chain nematic LCE. The nematic-isotropic transition temperature (T ni) of the MOCH3 incorporated nematic LCE was lower than that of the normal nematic LCE without the incorporation of a nonliquid crystal chain by about 27 °C. Compared to the normal nematic LCE or its nanocomposite, the MOCH3 incorporated nematic LCE or its nanocomposite demonstrated more rapid thermo-actuated deformation or photo-actuated deformation, and can be actuated to attain full axial contraction at an obviously lowered temperature or by light with obviously lowered intensity, while the maximum contraction ratio basically did not vary. These research results indicate that some nonliquid crystal chains show potential for improving the characteristics and enhancing the application significance of LCE materials.

RESUMO

Cobamides such as vitamin B12 are structurally conserved, cobalt-containing tetrapyrrole biomolecules that have essential biochemical functions in all domains of life. In organohalide respiration, a vital biological process for the global cycling of natural and anthropogenic organohalogens, cobamides are the requisite prosthetic groups for carbon-halogen bond-cleaving reductive dehalogenases. This study reports the biosynthesis of a new cobamide with unsubstituted purine as the lower base and assigns unsubstituted purine a biological function by demonstrating that Coα-purinyl-cobamide (purinyl-Cba) is the native prosthetic group in catalytically active tetrachloroethene reductive dehalogenases of Desulfitobacterium hafniense. Cobamides featuring different lower bases are not functionally equivalent, and purinyl-Cba elicits different physiological responses in corrinoid-auxotrophic, organohalide-respiring bacteria. Given that cobamide-dependent enzymes catalyze key steps in essential metabolic pathways, the discovery of a novel cobamide structure and the realization that lower bases can effectively modulate enzyme activities generate opportunities to manipulate functionalities of microbiomes.

RESUMO

Corrinoid auxotrophic organohalide-respiring Dehalococcoides mccartyi (Dhc) strains are keystone bacteria for reductive dechlorination of toxic and carcinogenic chloroorganic contaminants. We demonstrate that the lower base attached to the essential corrinoid cofactor of reductive dehalogenase (RDase) enzyme systems modulates dechlorination activity and affects the vinyl chloride (VC) RDases BvcA and VcrA differently. Amendment of 5,6-dimethylbenzimidazolyl-cobamide (DMB-Cba) to Dhc strain BAV1 and strain GT cultures supported cis-1,2-dichloroethene-to-ethene reductive dechlorination at rates of 107.0 (±12.0) µM and 67.4 (±1.4) µM Cl(-) released per day, respectively. Strain BAV1, expressing the BvcA RDase, reductively dechlorinated VC to ethene, although at up to fivefold lower rates in cultures amended with cobamides carrying 5-methylbenzimidazole (5-MeBza), 5-methoxybenzimidazole (5-OMeBza) or benzimidazole (Bza) as the lower base. In contrast, strain GT harboring the VcrA RDase failed to grow and dechlorinate VC to ethene in medium amended with 5-OMeBza-Cba or Bza-Cba. The amendment with DMB to inactive strain GT cultures restored the VC-to-ethene-dechlorinating phenotype and intracellular DMB-Cba was produced, demonstrating cobamide uptake and remodeling. The distinct responses of Dhc strains with BvcA versus VcrA RDases to different cobamides implicate that the lower base exerts control over Dhc reductive dechlorination rates and extents (that is, detoxification), and therefore the dynamics of Dhc strains with discrete reductive dechlorination capabilities. These findings emphasize that the role of the corrinoid/lower base synthesizing community must be understood to predict strain-specific Dhc activity and achieve efficacious contaminated site cleanup.

RESUMO

STUDY DESIGN: Systematic review of cross-cultural adaptation. OBJECTIVE: To perform a systematic review of cross-cultural adaptations of the Neck Disability Index (NDI) and to give a critical assessment to improve its translation. SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND DATA: The NDI is used to assess functional capacity and physical activity in patients with neck pain, but the quality of its cross-cultural adaptations has not been systematically reviewed. METHODS: PubMed, Cochrane Library, and EMBASE were searched up through 2013 to identify studies of cross-cultural NDI adaptations. Search terms were "Neck Disability Index" or "NDI" and "cross-cultur*" or "cultur*" or "valid*" or "equivalence" or "transl*." Data were extracted and study quality was assessed. RESULTS: Twenty-four different NDI versions were identified from 14 different languages/cultures. Most reported forward and back translation and pretesting, but sample size was a problem for most studies. The Cronbach α was generally acceptable, and 13 versions met the criterion of reliability by reporting an intraclass correlation coefficient of 0.70 or more, although some versions did not reach the minimal intraclass correlation coefficient. Eleven versions tested ceiling and floor effects, but only 1 Japanese version reported a floor effect. No study reported interpretability, and none provided the minimal important change or minimal important difference. CONCLUSION: The Arabic, Italian, and Thai versions were of higher quality than the other versions according to the overall assessment of the 3 checklists. The Catalan, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and Turkish versions need more research according to the Quality Criteria for Psychometric Properties of Health Status Questionnaire. Pretest sample size was not large enough in most cases. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: 1.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To study clinical efficacy of autologous bone graft for acetabular defect of Crowe III and IV hip dysplasia. METHODS: The 22 patients with 25 hips of DDH (Crowe type III, IV) from March 2010 to May 2013 were retrospectively analyzed. Total hip arthroplasty (THA) combined autogenous bone grafting was performed for all these patients with osteoarthritis secondary to DDH. Among them, 19 patients were females (21 hips) and 3 patients were males (4 hips), ranging in age from 43 to 67 years old, averaged 55 years old. There were 6 hips with Crowe type III and 19 hips with Crowe type IV. Before surgery, all the patients had hip pain, limb shortening and hip limited function of hip joint. After 12 months, the degree of recovery about limb length, functional recovery, autogenous bone graft fusion were observed. RESULTS: All the patients were followed up and no dislocation were occurred. At 12 months after operation, the average Harris hip joint llzncation score were 83.30±6.13, and 18 cases got an excellent result and 4 good. The length of lower limbs decreased from preoperative (3.20±0.81) cm to 12 months after operation (0.92±0.23) cm (t=14.864, P<0.05). CONCLUSION: THA combined with structural femoral head autograft for patients with osteoarthritis secondary to DDH can obtain favorable results, significantly improving the effect of operation treatment.
