Background: Numerous studies have emphasized the relevance of work environment, staffing, and educational level in nursing as determinants of safe, timely, effective, equitable, and efficient patient-centered care. However, an overview of the evidence focusing on the nursing education level is still lacking. Objective: To provide an overview of the existing evidence regarding bachelor's degree as an entry level for the nursing profession. Design: This was a scoping review. Methods: We conducted a systematic search of CINAHL, Medline via PubMed, Cochrane, and Web of Science Core Collection. Additionally, we conducted a free web search using Google and contacted international nursing associations via email. We summarized the evidence narratively. For reporting guidelines, we used the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis for Scoping Reviews. Results: We included 10 studies, 12 response letters, 24 position papers, three books, and one webpage. The sources of evidence identified agreed that the inclusion of a higher number of nurses with a bachelor's degree would lead to a higher quality of care. Conclusions: Using a bachelor's degree education as a minimum requirement to enter the nursing profession in the future is essential to generate a respected, competent, and satisfied nursing workforce that can impact the quality and safety of care; and positively influence outcome indicators for patients, nurses, healthcare organizations, and society. Tweetable abstract: Policy makers and healthcare organizations should set bachelor's degrees as standards for registration and entry to nursing.

OBJECTIVES: The literature highlights the importance of an interprofessional approach in palliative care to improve the quality of care, favoring an effective use of resources. Members of the interprofessional team include all professionals involved in patient care; in some contexts, the advanced practice nurse (APN) has a clearly defined role. This study aimed to define the possible role of the APN within the interprofessional palliative care team in our context. DATA SOURCES: A focused ethnographic approach was taken involving participant observation and semistructured interviews. CONCLUSION: From the participant observations, interaction of the participants, discussion content, and styles of meeting management were described. From the thematic analysis of the interviews, 15 themes emerged, grouped into four macro-themes: interprofessional collaboration, the interprofessional meeting, nurse's role, and developments. IMPLICATIONS FOR NURSING PRACTICE: The study has identified current nursing practice within the interprofessional palliative care team and areas where interprofessional collaboration can be improved. These are both organizational (role definition and team meeting management) and professional (development of nursing culture, expanded nursing role, and introduction of the APN within the team). Nurses must develop advanced skills to ensure more effective care for patients and caregivers. The introduction of an APN could be appropriate to address this need.

BACKGROUND: Little is known about what happens when patients and caregivers are involved in an academic setting as co-teachers and how healthcare professionals approach a new model of partnership-based teaching. This study aimed to explore the learning and behavioural patterns of a group of healthcare professionals who were learning to teach with patients and caregivers as co-teachers in a post-graduate course. METHODS: A focused ethnographic study involving 11 health professionals was conducted. Data were collected through participatory observation during the course, individual semi-structured interviews, and a follow-up focus group. Taxonomic analysis was performed. RESULTS: Three categories were identified: 'group', 'role of narration' and 'applying co-teaching with patients and caregivers '. Specifically, heterogeneity, absence of hierarchies, and balanced relationships characterised the group dynamic and promoted partnership. Narration played a key role both in learning and in healthcare professionals' relationship with patients and caregivers and promoted emotional skills and self-awareness. Project planning and lessons simulations were essential aspects of the implementation process. CONCLUSIONS: This focused ethnography helped further understanding of the context of a specific project involving patients and caregivers as co-teachers in healthcare professional education. The development of emotional skills and self-awareness are the main learning patterns of co-teaching, and interprofessionalism and balanced relationships are the basis of the behavioural patterns. These patterns facilitated the involvement of patients and caregivers in health education.

The pandemic represented a challenge for hospital managers at different levels, required to reorganise services without compromising care. This study aimed to analyse the experiences of hospital managers during the COVID-19 pandemic. A narrative inquiry was conducted in a multisite acute hospital. Data were collected through narratives and open-ended questions. Direct and non-direct-care managers were invited to participate. Data were analyzed considering Clandinin & Connelly's (2000) framework and Braun & Clarke, (2006). Thirty-six narratives and open-ended question responses were analysed. Participants were nurses (n = 20), doctors, technicians, administrative and hospitality service managers. Themes were grouped into three narrative dimensions: (1) personal-"the emergency engulfed us", (2) practical/professional-"managing the pandemic", (3) social-"the strength of the team and people". Different narrative threads were identified between direct-care and non direct-care managers. Problems faced, factors helpful for management and suggestions for improvement were also reported. The pandemic had an important impact on managers and their roles, in terms of the need for clear concise information, staff support, and adequate professional and technical resources. A sense of unity and belonging facilitated management.

AIM: The aim of this study was to explore the experiences of family members of patients admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) for COVID-19 during the first and second waves of the pandemic in Switzerland. DESIGN: A qualitative descriptive approach was used in this study. METHODS: Face-to-face in-depth semistructured interviews were used to explore the experiences of family members of surviving COVID-19 patients, who were admitted to the ICU. Interviews were transcribed verbatim and wereanalysed using Braun and Clarke thematic analysis. In our context, family visits were prohibited during the first and second waves of the pandemic. FINDINGS: Fifteen family members participated. Interviews were conducted between October 2020 and March 2021. Data analysis identified three main themes: (i) becoming a pillar of support for all; (ii) dealing with uncertainty; and (iii) a trajectory of emotions. Five subthemes are reported within these themes. The primary concern was the need for information due to visitation restrictions. This led to stress as many became the main communication source for other family members and friends. Coping strategies to support the ongoing uncertainty included daily routines, work, and prayer. The inability to visit and the lack of information led to a range of conflicting emotions, such as feeling of helplessness, which were countered by the gratitude that their loved ones had survived. CONCLUSION: This study highlights the profound impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the family members of ICU patients. It emphasises their struggle for information, adaptation to new roles, and coping mechanisms amidst uncertainty. Although they experienced predominantly negative emotions, the recovery and return of their loved ones triggered a sense of gratitude. This study sheds light on the crucial role of social support. Such findings may have implications for nursing practice in effectively addressing the concerns and priorities of family members in similar emergency situations, thereby improving clinical outcomes.

The COVID-19 pandemic heavily impacted nursing care. This study aimed to understand which nursing interventions were instrumental in responding to COVID-19 patients' needs by exploring the experiences of patients and nurses. In this mixed-method study with an explanatory sequential design, we involved nurses caring for COVID-19 patients in intensive and sub-intensive care units and patients. In the first phase, we collected data through a survey that assessed patients' needs from the perspective of nurses and patients, as well as patient satisfaction. In the second phase, qualitative data were collected through interviews with patients and nurses. In the third phase, we extracted quantitative data from patients' records. Our sample included 100 nurses, 59 patients, 15 patient records, and 31 interviews (15 patients, 16 nurses). The results from the first phase showed patients and nurses agreed on the most important difficulties: "breathing", "sleep/rest", and "communication". Nursing care was rated positively by 90% of the patients. In the second phase, four themes were identified through the patients' interviews: "my problems", "my emotions", "helpful factors", and "nursing care". Five themes were identified through the nurses' interviews: "the context", "nurses' experiences and emotions", "facilitators and barriers to patient care", "nursing care", and "the professional role". From the third phase, the analysis of the clinical documentation, it was not possible to understand the nursing care model used by the nurses. In conclusion, nurses adopted a reactive-adaptive approach, based on experience/knowledge, pursuing generalized objectives, and adapting their response to the clinical evolution. In difficult contexts, nursing care requires a constant competent technical-relational presence at the patient's bedside.

Bullying in the workplace is a serious problem in nursing and has an impact on the well-being of teams, patients, and organisations. This study's aim is to map possible interventions designed to prevent or resolve bullying in nursing. A scoping review of primary research published in English and Italian between 2011 and 2021 was undertaken from four databases (Cochrane Collaboration, PubMed, CINAHL Complete, and PsycInfo). The data were analysed using Arksey and O'Malley's framework, and the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses Extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) Checklist was followed to report the study. Fourteen papers met the review eligibility criteria. The analysis revealed four main themes: educational interventions, cognitive rehearsal, team building, and nursing leaders' experiences. Interventions enabled nurses to recognise bullying and address it with assertive communication. Further research is needed to demonstrate these interventions' effectiveness and if they lead to a significant decrease in the short-/long-term frequency of these issues. This review increases the available knowledge and guides nurse leaders in choosing effective interventions. Eradicating this phenomenon from healthcare settings involves active engagement of nurses, regardless of their role, in addition to support from the nurse leaders, the organisations, and professional and health policies.

OBJECTIVES: The aims of this study were to investigate the practices of registered nurses and nurse aides at mealtimes in nursing homes (NHs) and to evaluate the attitudes of health care staff toward the nutritional care of older people. DESIGN: This is a multicenter cross-sectional study. SETTING AND PARTICIPANTS: The study involved a convenience sample of NH health care staff: physicians, registered nurses, and nurse aides. METHODS: Data were collected on characteristics of the dining environment, organizational and nutritional care practices, staff-resident ratio, and staff activities during meals, using 2 questionnaires and staff attitudes were assessed with Staff Attitudes to Nutritional Nursing Care Geriatric Scale (SANN-G). Total score ranges from 18 to 90 points, with the following cutoffs: ≥72, positive attitude; ≤54, negative; and 55-71 points, neutral attitude. RESULTS: A total of 1267 workers from 29 NHs in northern Italy participated in the study. The most common nutritional assessment tool used by nurses was the Malnutrition Universal Screening Tool. A median of 4.0 and 4.2 people (family caregivers, volunteers and staff) were present for feeding support, respectively, at lunch and dinner. A median of 2.5 and 2.0 staff members at lunch and at dinner, respectively, fed residents. Overall, 1024 health care workers responded to SANN-G of which 21.9% showed a negative attitude, 57.2% neutral, and 20.9% a positive attitude. Nurse aides (190/714) showed worse attitudes compared with registered nurses (20/204) and physicians (2/36); differences were statistically significant. Overall, the best attitudes were toward "habits," "interventions," and "individualization" of nutritional care. Staff who had received nutritional training (29.2%) had best attitudes. CONCLUSIONS AND IMPLICATIONS: The results suggest that NHs should ensure adequate staff-resident ratio during meals, involving trained volunteers and relatives. Moreover, health professionals' knowledge and attitude toward nutritional care should be improved through continuous training.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effects patient involvement in nursing education has on students, patients and academic staff using a specific theoretical framework. DESIGN: Mixed-methods systematic review based on Joanna Briggs Institute methodology (Prospero no. CRD42022327158). DATA SOURCES: Seven databases (PubMed, Cochrane Library, Cinahl, PsychINFO, Scopus, ERIC, Embase), Google Scholar and reference lists were searched. REVIEW METHODS: Qualitative, quantitative and mixed-method studies published from 2012 to 2022 were included. Two reviewers independently assessed the studies for eligibility and quality; any disagreement was discussed with a third reviewer. Data were extracted and analysed according to the Joanna Briggs Institute converged integrated approach. RESULTS: Twenty-one qualitative, one quantitative and five mixed-methods studies met the inclusion criteria. Data were provided from three points of view: students, patients and academic staff. Student integrated findings included: (i) students' reactions towards patient involvement in education; (ii) students' views on the learning process and (iii) on ethical issue. From the patient point of view, the integrated findings addressed (i) patients' goals and effects on students' learning; (ii) how patients teach and get involved with students; (iii) how patients perceived their role; the patients' views on facilitators (iv) and barriers (v) in education; (vi) the perceived effects of being involved in education. Four integrated findings were derived from the academic staff's point of view: (i) academics' perceptions on patient vulnerability; (ii) perceived barriers to the efficacy of patient involvement in education; (iii) effects of patient involvement in nursing education; and (iv) methodological aspects of patient involvement in university curriculum. CONCLUSIONS: This systematic review provides useful information from all stakeholders' perspectives on the effects of patient involvement in nursing education. It offers a broader view of the implications for implementation and for developing theoretical frameworks and hypotheses for future research.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: To determine which factors can be considered protective of ethical conflicts in intensive care unit healthcare professionals during a pandemic. BACKGROUND: The COVID-19 pandemic gave rise to new ethical concerns in relation to the management of public health and the limitations on personal freedom. Continued exposure to ethical conflict can have a range of psychological consequences. DESIGN: A qualitative design based on phenomenological approach. METHODS: A total of 38 nurses and physicians who were regular staff members of Barcelona and Milan's public tertiary university hospitals and working in intensive care units during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Semi-structured online in-depth interviews were conducted. A thematic analysis was performed by two independent researchers following the seven steps of Colaizzi's methods. We adhere COREQ guidelines. RESULTS: One theme 'Protective factors of ethical conflict in sanitary crisis' and four subthemes emerged from the data: (1) knowledge of the infectious disease, (2) good communication environment, (3) psychological support and (4) keeping the same work team together. CONCLUSIONS: Four elements can be considered protective factors of ethical conflict for healthcare professionals during a sanitary crisis. While some of these factors have already been described, the joint identification of this set of four factors as a single element is, in itself, novel. This should help in ensuring the right mechanisms are in place to face future pandemics and should serve to improve institutional organisation and guarantee safe and high-quality patient care in times of healthcare crisis. RELEVANCE TO CLINICAL PRACTICE: Future strategies for the prevention of ethical conflict during sanitary crises, pandemics or other catastrophes need to consider a set of four factors as a single element. These factors are the knowledge of the infectious disease, a good communication environment, psychological support and keeping the same work team together into joint consideration.

Malnutrition in older people is still an unsolved issue. Clinical nurses have a key role in malnutrition prevention. This study aims to describe the individual-level variables associated with self-efficacy in nutrition care for older adults among nurses. A cross-sectional descriptive observational study was performed involving nurses from four northern Italy hospitals. The self-efficacy scale for nursing nutrition care (SE-NNC) and Multiple linear regression (MLR) models were used, enrolling 305 nurses. The mean SE-NNC total score was 53.3 ± 19.7. Considering the three dimensions of the SE-NNC, mean scores were 45.9 ± 21.7 for boosting knowledge, 55.4 ± SD = 20.3 for assessment and evidence utilization, and 57.7 ± 21.1 for care delivery. To be a younger nurse, working in a chronic care setting, and being male were associated with a higher level of self-efficacy, both considering the SE-NNC total score and its dimensions. Working in acute care settings and being an older nurse was associated with lower nursing self-efficacy in nutrition care for older adults.

AIM AND OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to explore the sources of ethical conflict and the decision-making processes of ICU nurses and physicians during the first and subsequent waves of the COVID-19 pandemic. BACKGROUND: Depside several studies exploring ethical conflicts during COVID-19 pandemic, few studies have explored in depth the perceptions and experiences of critical care professionals regarding these conflicts, the decision-making process or which have analysed the complexity of actually implementing the recommendations of scientific societies and professional/healthcare institutions in interdisciplinary samples. DESIGN: A descriptive phenomenological study. METHODS: Thirty-eight in-depth interviews were conducted with critical care nurses and physicians from five hospitals in Spain and Italy between December 2020 and May 2021. A thematic content analysis of the interview transcripts was conducted by two researchers. Consolidated criteria for reporting qualitative research (COREQ) were employed to ensure the quality and transparency of this study. RESULTS: Two main themes emerged as sources of ethical conflict: the approach to end of life in exceptional circumstances and the lack of humanisation and care resources. The former comprised two subthemes: end-of-life care and withholding and withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment; the latter comprised three subthemes: the impossibility of guaranteeing the same opportunities to all, fear of contagion as a barrier to taking decisions and the need to humanise care. CONCLUSIONS: Professionals sought to take their decisions in line with professional ethics and bioethical principles, but, nevertheless, they experienced moral dilemmas and moral distress when not being able to care for, or to treat, their patients as they believed fit. RELEVANCE TO CLINICAL PRACTICE: Further education and training are recommended on the provision of end-of-life and post-mortem care, effective communication techniques via video calls, disclosure of bad news and bioethical models for decision-making in highly demanding situations of uncertainty, such as those experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic.

INTRODUCTION: The quality of care for tracheostomy and mechanically ventilated patients in intensive care units (ICUs) has improved considerably. However, the communication barrier attributable to these procedures generates many problems for patients, as they are unable to communicate effectively with family members and ICU healthcare professionals, especially nurses. AIMS: To describe (1) tracheostomy patients' needs, emotions and difficulties when communicating with ICU nurses and (2) which strategies nurses and patients have adopted to improve their communication. METHODS: A scoping review was completed using the Joanna Briggs Institute method and following the PRISMA-ScR Checklist. The research question was developed using the Population, Concept and Context framework. Five databases were searched. After screening, two researchers independently analysed the 75 papers, and finally, 19 studies were included in this review. RESULTS: All studies used a qualitative design. Seven adopted a phenomenological and two a hermeneutic approach, involving a total of 265 patients. Two main themes and four subthemes were identified: (1) the tracheostomy patients' needs, emotions and difficulties communicating with ICU nurses (patients' emotions, communication needs, and their content and difficulties) and (2) strategies that nurses and patients adopted to improve communication (communication strategies). CONCLUSIONS: It is essential to develop effective communication with tracheostomy patients to ensure they feel relieved, safe and considered. Communication content should focus on information relating to the person's personal condition and active involvement in care. RELEVANCE TO CLINICAL PRACTICE: It is important to prioritise the communication process in tracheostomised patients and create the organisational conditions that foster effective communication processes. Developing training programmes for new or practising nurses is essential to instil greater awareness about this crucial fundamental need.

INTRODUCTION: Literature suggests that patient engagement in healthy lifestyle is of crucial importance in ensuring a more effective management of side effects of cancer therapies and better quality of life for patients. While many studies describe educational interventions to promote healthy lifestyles, few are focused on promoting active patient engagement in this field. This protocol paper outlines a study to determine the feasibility of a complex nurse-led patient education intervention aimed to promote cancer patient engagement in a healthy lifestyle. METHOD AND ANALYSIS: This is a randomised pilot and feasibility study. Research nurses will recruit 40 adult patients newly diagnosed with cancer. Consenting participants will be randomised to undergo the patient engagement in healthy lifestyle intervention or the control group by means of a four-block randomisation procedure. The intervention will be delivered by a clinical nurse trained in patient engagement strategies. The primary outcome will be a description of study feasibility (recruitment and retention rates, protocol adherence and stakeholder acceptability). Secondary outcomes include changes between and within groups in healthy lifestyle behaviours (ie, increase in healthy diet, smoke cessation or reduction, increase in physical activity), in quality-of-life rates after the intervention, in patient engagement levels, in the perception of the quality of care, in nutritional status; the number of recurrences or the onset of new cancer diagnosis; the number of hospitalization. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION: The study protocol has been approved by the Canton Ticino Ethical Committee (Protocol ID: 2020-02477 TI). The results will be published in peer-reviewed journals and will be presented at national and international congresses. Finally, patients' organisations, such as the Swiss Cancer League, will be involved in the dissemination process. This study will inform the decision to proceed with a randomised controlled trial to assess the effect of this intervention.

BACKGROUND: The COVID-19 pandemic has imposed great pressure on healthcare facilities, exposing healthcare professionals to various challenges that may result in the onset of moral distress, a condition of psychological distress caused by the inability to act as it would be most morally appropriate. The purpose of this research was to investigate the experience lived by nurses who worked in an intensive care unit during the COVID-19 pandemic. METHODS: This is a phenomenological study using interpretative phenomenological analysis. Sixteen nurses who worked in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit of Northern Italian Hospitals from January to April 2022 were selected through purposive sampling. Data on experiences, thoughts, and symptoms were collected through semi-structured interviews with in-person and remote modalities. RESULTS: Five themes and fourteen subthemes emerged from the study. The themes are: (1) pride, isolation, and fear; (2) teamwork and organisation; (3) moral/ethical aspect; (4) true heroes; and (5) dignity. CONCLUSIONS: This study highlights the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on intensive care unit nurses. It has emerged that the risk of moral distress is high among healthcare workers in the front line of the fight against the virus. This condition should be avoided and managed through early psychological interventions, sharing of experiences, and a good organization that supports decision-making and professional well-being.

The COVID-19 pandemic is a major public health problem with millions of confirmed cases and deaths described. Nurses are among the health care professionals most involved at the front line, caring for those affected by COVID-19. Patients and families have been subjected to a high emotional burden of fear, anxiety, and uncertainty. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the approach to patients, the organisation of care, and communication with patients and their families, all requiring considerable adaptation on the part of nurses and health care professionals. The overall aim of this research was to find out the needs of patients with COVID-19, the nursing interventions provided and their outcomes, and to explore the experiences of the nurses, patients, and caregivers. A mixed method study will be performed with a convergent design. The study was divided into three phases. Quantitative methods involved nurses and patients affected by COVID-19 with a questionnaire. Qualitative methods involved nurses, patients, and caregivers with interviews and finally a quantitative analysis of the nursing documentation of the interviewed patients. We hope that this study will help us to understand and identify the main nursing and support needs expressed by patients and their families at different stages of their illness.

BACKGROUND: Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) is a common chronic sleep-related breathing disorder. Drug therapy is a recent approach to treating OSA, and no data is available regarding its effects on a couple's life. The aim of this study was to investigate the impact on couples' lives of a novel drug treatment for OSA. METHODS: Participants of a trial on new drug therapy (reboxetine plus oxybutynin) for OSA were interviewed. The study was conducted using a descriptive phenomenological approach by Sundler et al. Results: Ten patients and six of their partners were recruited through a purposive sampling between February and April 2021. The results indicate that drug treatment of OSA had a favourable impact on the couples' lives. Pharmacotherapy improved self-reported sleep quality, as the absence of CPAP allows people to sleep closer to the bed partner and because the patient does not have to sleep in a forced position. Moreover, the couples developed teamwork from the beginning which appeared to be crucial during the trial, especially when some difficulties and adverse events occurred. CONCLUSIONS: This study presents the presence of a positive closed loop that could be considered a predictor of adherence to drug therapy.

BACKGROUND: No systematic review in the literature has analyzed the intensity and frequency of moral distress among ICU nurses. No study seems to have mapped the leading personal and professional characteristics associated with high levels of moral distress. This systematic review aimed to describe the intensity and frequency of moral distress experienced by nurses in ICUs, as assessed by Corley's instruments on moral distress (the Moral Distress Scale and the Moral Distress Scale-Revised). Additionally, this systematic review aimed to summarize the correlates of moral distress. METHODS: A systematic search and review were performed using the following databases: Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), the National Library of Medicine (MEDLINE/PubMed), and Psychological Abstracts Information Services (PsycINFO). The review methodology followed PRISMA guidelines. The quality assessment of the included studies was conducted using the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale. RESULTS: Findings showed a moderate level of moral distress among nurses working in ICUs. The findings of this systematic review confirm that there are a lot of triggers of moral distress related to patient-level factors, unit/team-level factors, or system-level causes. Beyond the triggers of moral distress, this systematic review showed some correlates of moral distress: those nurses working in ICUs with less work experience and those who are younger, female, and intend to leave their jobs have higher levels of moral distress. This systematic review's findings show a positive correlation between professional autonomy, empowerment, and moral distress scores. Additionally, nurses who feel supported by head nurses report lower moral distress scores. CONCLUSIONS: This review could help better identify which professionals are at a higher risk of experiencing moral distress, allowing the early detection of those at risk of moral distress, and giving the organization some tools to implement preventive strategies.

Patient engagement has gained increasing attention in cancer care as it is widely acknowledged as an essential element of high-quality care. There are limited data on how oncology nurses might apply techniques that encourage patient engagement. Therefore, this study aims to understand which nursing strategies can favour patient engagement in oncological care from patients' and nurses' perspectives. We conducted a qualitative study involving oncology patients and oncology nurses. Patients were interviewed, while nurses were involved in focus groups (FGs). Both interviews and FGs were analysed by the means of thematic analysis. We interviewed six patients and conducted two FGs, involving 17 nurses. Five themes were identified from patients' interviews: effective information, having the opportunity to choose, being considered a person, trusted relationship with nurses, and receiving support and advice. Additionally, five themes were identified from the FGs: the nurse-patient relationship, personalisation of care, information style, engagement strategies, and the team. The participants highlighted the importance of comprehensive information in order for patients to feel more involved. Great importance was given to the nurse-patient relationship, which must be based on trust and mutual respect. Both nurses and patients emphasised the importance of person-centred care. A more systematic implementation of suggestions from the participants in this study is desirable for the future.
