RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The shortage of nurses threatens the entire healthcare system, and nursing professionalism can improve nurse retention and enhance the quality of care. However, nursing professionalism is dynamic, and the factors influencing its development are not fully understood. METHODS: A qualitative descriptive study was conducted. Using maximum variation and purposive sampling, 14 southern and northern China participants were recruited. Semi-structured interviews were conducted from May 2022 to August 2023 in face-to-face conversations in offices in the workplace or via voice calls. The interviews were transcribed verbatim and analyzed via thematic analysis. RESULTS: Three main themes emerged: (1) nourishment factors: promoting early sprouting; (2) growth factors: the power of self-activation and overcoming challenges; and (3) rootedness factors: stability and upward momentum. Participants described the early acquisition of nursing professionalism as derived from personality traits, family upbringing, and school professional education, promoting the growth of nursing professionalism through self-activation and overcoming challenges, and maintaining the stable and upward development of nursing professionalism through an upward atmosphere and external motivation. CONCLUSION: We revealed the dynamic factors that influence the development of nursing professionalism, including "nourishment factors", "growth factors", and "rootedness factors". Our findings provide a foundation for future development of nursing professionalism cultivation strategies. Nursing administrators can guide the development of nurses' professionalism from many angles according to the stage they are in, and the development of professionalism deserves more attention. In the future, we can no longer consider the development of nursing professionalism solely as the responsibility of individual nurses; the power of families, organizations, and society is indispensable to jointly promoting nursing professionalism among nurses.

RESUMO

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains a significant global health challenge despite advancements in prevention and treatment. Elevated Lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] levels have emerged as a crucial risk factor for CVD and aortic stenosis, affecting approximately 20 of the global population. Research over the last decade has established Lp(a) as an independent genetic contributor to CVD and aortic stenosis, beginning with Kare Berg's discovery in 1963. This has led to extensive exploration of its molecular structure and pathogenic roles. Despite the unknown physiological function of Lp(a), studies have shed light on its metabolism, genetics, and involvement in atherosclerosis, inflammation, and thrombosis. Epidemiological evidence highlights the link between high Lp(a) levels and increased cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Newly emerging therapies, including pelacarsen, zerlasiran, olpasiran, muvalaplin, and lepodisiran, show promise in significantly lowering Lp(a) levels, potentially transforming the management of cardiovascular disease. However, further research is essential to assess these novel therapies' long-term efficacy and safety, heralding a new era in cardiovascular disease prevention and treatment and providing hope for at-risk patients.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Chronic total coronary occlusion is among the most complex coronary artery diseases. Elevated homocysteine is a risk factor for coronary artery diseases. However, few studies have assessed the relationship between homocysteine and chronic total coronary occlusion. METHODS: 1295 individuals from Southwest China were enrolled in the study. Chronic total coronary occlusion was defined as complete occlusion of coronary artery for more than three months. Homocysteine was divided into quartiles according to its level. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression models, receiver operating characteristic curves, and subgroup analysis were applied to assess the relationship between homocysteine and chronic total coronary occlusion. RESULTS: Subjects in the higher homocysteine quartile had a higher rate of chronic total coronary occlusion (P < 0.001). After adjustment, the odds ratio for chronic total coronary occlusion in the highest quartile of homocysteine compared with the lowest was 1.918 (95% confidence interval 1.237-2.972). Homocysteine ≥ 15.2 µmol/L was considered an independent indicator of chronic total coronary occlusion (odds ratio 1.53, 95% confidence interval 1.05-2.23; P = 0.0265). The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve was 0.659 (95% confidence interval, 0.618-0.701; P < 0.001). Stronger associations were observed in elderly and in those with hypertension and diabetes. CONCLUSIONS: Elevated homocysteine is significantly associated with chronic total coronary occlusion, particularly in elderly and those with hypertension and diabetes.

RESUMO

Excessive calcium-phosphorus product (Ca-P product) in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) is associated with coronary artery calcification and coronary artery disease, but the relation between Ca-P product and coronary artery disease in non-CKD populations has rarely been reported. Therefore, we designed a cross-sectional study to investigate the role of Ca-P product in total coronary artery occlusion (TCAO) in a non-CKD population. We reviewed 983 patients who underwent coronary angiography at Guangyuan Central Hospital from February 2018 to January 2020. Ca-P product (mg2/dl2) was calculated as Ca (mmol/L) × 4 × P (mmol/L) × 3.1 and was analyzed as a continuous and tertiary variable. TCAO was defined as complete occlusion of any coronary artery by coronary angiography (thrombolysis in myocardial infarction flow grade 0). Statistical analysis was performed using univariate and multivariate logistic regression models and restricted cubic splines. Univariate logistic regression analysis showed a statistically significant association between Ca-P product and TCAO (odds ratio [OR] 0.97, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.95 to 0.99, p <0.001). After stepwise adjustment for covariates, the risk of TCAO was reduced by 40% in the high versus low Ca-P group (OR 0.6, 95% CI 0.38 to 0.95, p = 0.031), and the risk of TCAO was predicted to decrease by 4% (OR 0.96, 95% CI 0.94 to 0.99, p = 0.006) for each unit increase in Ca-P product. Restricted cubic splines showed a nonlinear relation between Ca-P product and TCAO, with a significant decrease in the risk of TCAO after reaching 27.46 (nonlinear p = 0.047). In conclusion, in non-CKD populations, a higher Ca-P product (≥27.46 mg2/dl2) may help avoid TCAO.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Vicarious trauma can significantly affect the physical and mental health of nurses, as well as their ability to provide quality of care. However, the concept of vicarious trauma has received limited attention and remains controversial in the nursing context. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to clarify and define the concept of vicarious trauma as it pertains to the nursing context. METHODS: The Schwartz and Kim's three-stage hybrid concept analysis method was used to define the concept. In the theoretical phase, PubMed, CINAHL, OVID, Medline, Embase, Web of Science, Scopus, ProQuest, PsycINFO, CNKI database, VIP database and Wanfang database were used using keywords "nurs*"and "vicarious trauma*", resulting in a total of 25 papers. In the fieldwork phase, we conducted participatory observations in three hospitals and semi-structured in-depth interviews with 18 clinical nurses from seven cities. In the analysis phase, the results of the previous two phases were integrated to develop a comprehensive concept of vicarious trauma in nursing. RESULTS: Based on the results of the theoretical and field phases, we propose the concept of vicarious trauma in nursing as follows: vicarious trauma is a psychological trauma impacting nurses' cognitive schema which they may experience in clinical settings or on social media, resulting from deeply empathize with the physical or emotional trauma of patients, family, or colleagues, such as patients' physical injuries or death, family's grieving feelings and colleagues' received threats and attacks. Positively, vicarious trauma can transform into vicarious post-trauma growth through repositioning and connection, nourishing nurses and promoting their personal and professional development. CONCLUSION: The concept of vicarious trauma in nursing is multidimensional and holistic. This study clarifies the concept of vicarious trauma in nursing using the hybrid concept analysis, providing a framework for future research and practice on vicarious trauma in the nursing field. PATIENT OR PUBLIC CONTRIBUTION: Nurses contributed to the conduct of the study by participating in the data collection via interviews.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND AND AIM: Insulin resistance (IR) plays an important role in the atherosclerotic process, and the triglyceride glucose (TyG) index is a reliable indicator of IR and is strongly associated with cardiovascular disease. However, there are few studies regarding the relationship between the TyG index and chronic total coronary occlusion (CTO). Herein, the correlation between the TyG index and CTO, as well as their interactions with other traditional cardiovascular risk factors, were investigated. METHODS AND RESULTS: We enrolled 2691 patients who underwent coronary angiography at Guangyuan Central Hospital from January 2019 to October 2021. TyG index results were used to create three groups using the trichotomous method. CTO was defined as complete occlusion of the coronary artery for ≥3 months. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression models, restricted cubic splines, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves, and subgroup analyses was performed. A significant correlation between the TyG index and CTO was noted. The risk of CTO was increased 2.09-fold in the group with the highest TyG compared with the lowest (OR, 2.09; 95 % CI, 1.05-4.17; P = 0.036). In addition, there was a linear dose-response relationship between the TyG index and CTO (nonlinear P = 0.614). The area under the ROC curve was 0.643 (95 % CI, 0.572-0.654). Using subgroup analyses, we observed that the TyG index was associated with a significantly higher risk of CTO in males and smokers. CONCLUSIONS: An elevated TyG index was related to the risk of CTO and may constitute a meaningful predictor of CTO, particularly in males and in smokers.

RESUMO

We summarize the evidence on non-pharmacological interventions for sleep disturbances in people living with dementia(PlwD). A literature search was performed using PubMed, Embase, Cochrane library, Web of Science, PsycINFO, CINAHL, and clinicaltrials.gov. Up to August 20, 2022. Six studies met our eligibility criteria. Light therapy, the therapeutic pet-type robotic seal(PRAO), and slow-stroke back massage(SSBM) are non-pharmacological interventions for sleep disturbances in PlwD.PARO increased night-time sleep duration (p < 0.05). The benefit of SSBM for sleep disturbances in PlwD is unclear (p > 0.05). Although there is a lack of evidence for the effect of light therapy on sleep disturbances in PlwD (p > 0.05), light therapy reduced sleep disturbance (SMD = -0.38; 95% CI:1.25, 0.48), increased sleep efficiency (MD = 3.77; 95% CI:-0.23, 7.78), and also reduced depression (MD = -2.49; 95% CI: -2.92, -2.06). More large-scale randomized controlled trials are needed and consider combining multiple non-pharmacological measures for sleep interventions in PlwD.

RESUMO

AIMS: No studies have comprehensively compared the efficacy of sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors, renin-angiotensin system (RAS) inhibitors, and angiotensin receptor neprilysin (ARN) inhibitors based on different type of heart failure, including heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). The aim of this network meta-analysis was to evaluate the relative efficacy of SGLT2 inhibitor (SGLT2i), RAS inhibitor (RASi) and ARN inhibitor (ARNI) in different types of heart failure. METHODS: A systemic literature search was performed from inception to 19 November 2022 for randomized control trials assessing the risk of cardiovascular (CV) death or hospitalization for heart failure (HHF) of these drugs in HF. A network meta-analysis was performed. Risk ratio (RR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI) were synthesized. RESULTS: Seventeen studies were selected with a total of 61 489 patients. In patients with HFrEF, ARNI led to a reduced risk of a composite outcome of CV death or HHF when compared with placebo (RR = 0.83, 95% CI 0.77-0.89). Similar trends were observed when focusing on the outcome of CV death or HHF alone. In patients with HFpEF, SGLT2i showed the beneficial effects on the CV death or HHF events when compared with placebo and RASi (RR = 0.82, 95% CI 0.74-0.92; RR = 1.16, 95% CI 1.02-1.31). For CV death, all these three drugs could not show beneficial effects in HFpEF. For the incidence of HHF in HFpEF, both SGLT2i and ARNI demonstrated the beneficial effects but SGLT2i was superior to ARNI. There were no differences in the events of discontinuation under these drugs when compared with placebo or each other in either HFrEF or HFpEF patients. SGLT2i showed the least renal injury among these interventions in HFrEF and there were no differences in the incidence of renal injury of these interventions in HFpEF. CONCLUSIONS: Among these drugs, ARNI showed the greatest ability to lower the incidence of CV death or HHF and SGLT2i exerted the least renal injury in patients with HFrEF. In patients with HFpEF, SGLT2i was associated with a reduction in the risk of CV death or HHF. There were no differences in the incidence of renal injury of these interventions in HFpEF. The intolerance of these drugs were comparable in both HFrEF and HFpEF.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Nursing professionalism plays an important role in clinical nursing. However, a clear conceptual understanding of nursing professionalism is lacking. METHOD: Walker and Avant's strategy was used to analyse the concept of nursing professionalism. We searched electronic databases, including PubMed, Scopus, and CINAHL, for studies published from 1965 to 2021. Quantitative or qualitative studies published in English that focused on nursing professionalism were included in the study. RESULTS: The three attributes of nursing professionalism are multidimensional, dynamic, and culture oriented. Based on the analysis, nursing professionalism is defined as providing individuals care based on the principles of professionalism, caring, and altruism. CONCLUSIONS: This study offers a theoretical definition and conceptual model of nursing professionalism that may be applied to develop standardized assessment tools or nursing professionalism training programs.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to explore the barriers to home exercise for patients with Parkinson's disease (PwPDs) and to provide guidelines for healthcare providers to build and implement home exercise strategies for PwPDs. DESIGN: A qualitative descriptive method was used. Semistructured interviews were conducted and thematic analysis was employed. SETTING: The study was conducted at the Department of Neurology at a grade 3 Class A general hospital in China. PARTICIPANTS: A total of 24 participants were interviewed, including 10 PwPDs, 7 caregivers, 4 nurses, 1head nurse, and 2 Parkinson's clinicians. RESULTS: Five themes were identified in this analysis. (1) Psychosomatic stress and low activity; (2) Lack of early rehabilitation authorisation; (3) Poor 'flow' state of home exercise; (4) iInaccessibility of continued service; (5) Sociocultural impact on family coping. CONCLUSION: PwPDs, caregivers and specialised medical staff raised the challenges faced by patients' home exercises from different perspectives. We can improve services and integrate resources through the management of multi-disciplinary, early rehabilitation authorisation, exercise experience, continuous service mode, and family coping strategies under different cultures to gradually adjust the home exercise behaviour of PwPDs.

RESUMO

Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome is generally associated with multiple cardiovascular disorders, such as myocardial hypertrophy. Autophagy is strictly modulated to maintain cardiac homeostasis. Post-injury autophagy is closely associated with pathological cardiac hypertrophy. BCL2 interacting protein 3 (BNIP3) and BNIP3-like protein (BNIP3L) can cause cell death and are important for hypoxia-elicited autophagy. Here, we evaluated whether BNIP3 could mitigate functional remodeling and cardiac hypertrophy through regulation of autophagy. Male WT rats or rats with BNIP3 knockout were subjected to chronic intermittent hypoxia (CIH) for 8 h/day over 5 weeks. Echocardiography and morphology were employed to assess the cardioprotective effects. Autophagy was assessed via transmission electron microscopy and detection of LC3, p62, and Beclin-1. Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick end labeling and the Bax/Bcl2 ratio were used to monitor apoptosis. Biochemical evaluations were performed to assess oxidative stress. Additionally, BNIP3-knockdown H9c2 cells that were subjected to CIH were used to examine autophagy and apoptosis to confirm the findings of the animal study. The CIH group showed elevated heart weight/body weight and left ventricle weight/body weight proportions, along with left ventricular remodeling. CIH-exposed rats exhibited dramatically higher fractional shortening and ejection fractions than the controls. In addition, the levels of autophagy markers Beclin-1 and LC3-II/I were increased, whereas the level of p62 was reduced by CIH treatment. The oxidative marker levels and the apoptosis index in the CIH group were markedly increased. Knockout of BNIP3 significantly aggravated the impairment in cardiac function, apoptosis, oxidative stress, and hypertrophy of CIH rats, while significantly reducing autophagy. The autophagy-associated PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway was also deactivated by BNIP3 knockout. At the cellular level, CIH treatment significantly upregulated autophagy and apoptosis; however, BNIP3 silencing reduced autophagy and promoted apoptosis. CIH treatment-mediated upregulation of BNIP3 expression plays a crucial role in autophagy by targeting the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway, alleviating cardiac hypertrophy.

RESUMO

Circadian rhythm proteins participate in regulating multiple physiological activities, including immune responses. The day-night shift rotation (DNSR) affects the circadian rhythm. The influence of circadian rhythm disturbance associated with DNSR on the regulatory functions of B cells remains to be studied. In this study, Blood samples were collected from 30 nurses engaging DNSR. The B cells were isolated from blood samples through magnetic cell separation. The regulatory function of IL-10 B cells (B10 cells) was evaluated using immunological assays. The results showed that the IL-10 expression was significantly reduced in B10 cells in nurses after DNSR. The capacity of inducing type 1 regulatory T cells (Tr1 cells) in B10 cells was down regulated. The circadian locomotor output cycles kaput (CLOCK) was increased in B10 cells, which was negatively correlated with the reduction of IL-10 expression in B10 cells. CLOCK formed a complex with c-Maf inducing protein (CMIP) to induce CMIP degradation; this restricted the IL10 gene transcription in B10 cells. B10 cells collected from nurses after DNSR were ineffective in suppressing T-cell proliferation and inducing Tr1 cells. In summary, DNSR affects the immune regulating function of B10 cells by disturbing the circadian rhythm.

RESUMO

New nanostructures often reflect new and exciting properties. Here, we present an two-dimensional, hitherto unreported PdO square network with lateral dimensions up to hundreds of nanometers growing on reduced graphene oxide (rGO), forming a hybrid nanofilm. An intermediate state of dissolved Pd(0) in the bacterium S. oneidensis MR-1 is pivotal in the biosynthesis and inspires an abiotic synthesis. The PdO network shows a lattice spacing of 0.5 nm and a thickness of 1.8 nm on both sides of an rGO layer and is proposed to be cubic or tetragonal crystal, as confirmed by structural simulations. A 2D silver oxide analog with a similar structure is also obtained using an analogous abiotic synthesis. Our study thus opens a simple route to a whole new class of 2D metal oxides on rGO as promising candidates for graphene superlattices with unexplored properties and potential applications for example in electronics, sensing, and energy conversion.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Family with sequence similarity 19 member A5 (FAM19A5) has been identified as a novel adipokine that plays an important role in inhibiting inflammation and vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation. However, the clinical associations between FAM19A5 levels and the presence and severity of coronary artery disease (CAD) remains uncertain. METHODS: We measured serum FAM19A5 levels in 186 CAD patients and 58 non-CAD patients who underwent coronary arteriography (CAG) recruited in Shanxi Medical University Affiliated Second Hospital. The severity of coronary artery stenosis was represented in the Gensini score. Logistic and linear regression analyses were used to analyze the relationship between serum FAM19A5 and CAD. RESULTS: Serum FAM19A5 levels in CAD group were significantly lower than those in the non-CAD group [1.53 (1.13-2.27) ng/mL vs 2.33 (1.69-3.51) ng/mL; P = 0.013]. Logistic regression analysis showed that decreased serum FAM19A5 level was a risk factor for CAD (OR: 0.563, 95% CI: 0.409-0.776, P < 0.001). Circulating FAM19A5 levels were negatively associated with the Gensini score. FAM19A5 had 87.9% sensitivity and 52.7% specificity for identifying CAD. CONCLUSIONS: Serum FAM19A5 levels were negatively associated with the presence and severity of CAD and may represent a novel biomarker for diagnosing and indication the severity of CAD.

RESUMO

Rhenium(I)-carbonyl-diimine complexes have emerged as promising photocatalysts for carbon dioxide reduction with covalent organic frameworks recognized as perfect sensitizers and scaffold support. Such Re complexes/covalent organic frameworks hybrid catalysts have demonstrated high carbon dioxide reduction activities but with strong excitation energy-dependence. In this paper, we rationalize this behavior by the excitation energy-dependent pathways of internal photo-induced charge transfer studied via transient optical spectroscopies and time-dependent density-functional theory calculation. Under band-edge excitation, the excited electrons are quickly injected from covalent organic frameworks moiety into catalytic RheniumI center within picosecond but followed by fast backward geminate recombination. While under excitation with high-energy photon, the injected electrons are located at high-energy levels in RheniumI centers with longer lifetime. Besides those injected electrons to RheniumI center, there still remain some long-lived electrons in covalent organic frameworks moiety which is transferred back from RheniumI. This facilitates the two-electron reaction of carbon dioxide conversion to carbon monoxide.

RESUMO

AIM: To explore and describe nurses' self-expression media image during COVID-19 pandemic in China. BACKGROUND: Nurses play an important role in COVID-19 pandemic. Although nurses were widely reported by the media, which included praise for nurses and nursing work, the researches on how nurses expressed their self-images were limited. DESIGN: Qualitative media analysis. METHODS: Qualitative media analysis was conducted from January to April 2020, the researchers collected images and texts of 16 Chinese nurses who take care of COVID-19 patients. These images and texts were published on WeChat Moments by themselves. After analysed each image and text, researchers identified the denotative and connotative elements in each image and summarized each image in narrative way. FINDINGS: This study analysed 219 pictures and 15 short videos of 16 nurses' self-expression in WeChat moments. In this study, the media image self-expression of nurses were mostly positive. The images expressed by nurses in this study included care image; hero image; soldier image; female image; hope image and team image. Nurses rarely showed negative images in the media; The negative nurses image were expressed in hidden way, which included exhausted nurses image and fragile nurses image. Moreover, the nurse self-expression media image emphasized the nursing professionalism, but less showed the nursing connotation. CONCLUSIONS: The positive media image self-expression of nurses should be encouraged. Nurse Managers should pay attention to the deficiency of nursing image expression and guide nurses to show the essence and connotation of nursing.

RESUMO

Background: Ferroptosis is an iron-dependent cell death mode and closely linked to various cancers, including skin cutaneous melanoma (SKCM). Although attempts have been made to construct ferroptosis-related gene (FRG) signatures for predicting the prognosis of SKCM, the prognostic impact of ferroptosis-related genetic mutations in SKCM remains lacking. This study aims to develop a prediction model to explain the relationship between ferroptosis-related genetic mutations and clinical outcomes of SKCM patients and to explore the potential value of ferroptosis in SKCM treatment. Methods: FRGs which significantly correlated with the prognosis of SKCM were firstly screened based on their single-nucleotide variant (SNV) status by univariate Cox regression analysis. Subsequently, the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) and Cox regressions were performed to construct a new ferroptosis-related genetic mutation risk (FerrGR) model for predicting the prognosis of SKCM. We then illustrate the survival and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves to evaluate the predictive power of the FerrGR model. Moreover, independent prognostic factors, genomic and clinical characteristics, immunotherapy, immune infiltration, and sensitive drugs were compared between high-and low-FerrGR groups. Results: The FerrGR model was developed with a good performance on survival and ROC analysis. It was a robust independent prognostic indicator and followed a nomogram constructed to predict prognostic outcomes for SKCM patients. Besides, FerrGR combined with tumor mutational burden (TMB) or MSI (microsatellite instability) was considered as a combined biomarker for immunotherapy response. The high FerrGR group patients were associated with an inhibitory immune microenvironment. Furthermore, potential drugs target to high FerrGR samples were predicted. Conclusion: The FerrGR model is valuable to predict prognosis and immunotherapy in SKCM patients. It offers a novel therapeutic option for SKCM.

RESUMO

Photothermal therapy requires efficient plasmonic nanomaterials with small size, good water dispersibility, and biocompatibility. This work reports a one-pot, 2-min synthesis strategy for ultrathin CuS nanocrystals (NCs) with precisely tunable size and localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR), where a single-starch-layer coating leads to a high LSPR absorption at the near-IR wavelength 980 nm. The CuS NC diameter increases from 4.7 (1 nm height along [101]) to 28.6 nm (4.9 nm height along [001]) accompanied by LSPR redshift from 978 to 1200 nm, as the precursor ratio decreases from 1 to 0.125. Photothermal temperature increases by 38.6 °C in 50 mg L-1 CuS NC solution under laser illumination (980 nm, 1.44 W cm-2 ). Notably, 98.4% of human prostate cancer PC-3/Luc+ cells are killed by as little as 5 mg L-1 starch-coated CuS NCs with 3-min laser treatment, whereas CuS NCs without starch cause insignificant cell death. LSPR modeling discloses that the starch layer enhances the photothermal effect by significantly increasing the free carrier density and blue-shifting the LSPR toward 980 nm. This study not only presents a new type of photothermally highly efficient ultrathin CuS NCs, but also offers in-depth LSPR modeling investigations useful for other photothermal nanomaterial designs.

RESUMO

Plant-associated fungal communities play a vital role in plant adaptations, physiological functions, and productivity. Therefore, it is important to reveal the mechanisms driving the assembly of these communities. Yet it is still not fully understood how community assembly and structure differentiate in plant compartments, growth seasons, and varieties at large geographic distances. In this study, we analyzed bulk soil and plant-associated fungal communities of five wheat varieties across two growth stages in three biogeographic sites with distances of about 324, 534, or 800 km apart between any two locations. Our results indicated that the fungal community varied primarily across the sample types (leaf endosphere, root endosphere, rhizosphere, and bulk soil), followed by growth stage. Compared with the regreening stage, lower α-diversity and more dominance by abundant species in the fungal community were observed in wheat-associated compartments (four sample types except for bulk soil) at the heading stage. Additionally, within each wheat-associated compartment across every growth stage, location had stronger effects on fungal community assembly than the wheat variety. The effects of variety on fungal community assembly were location specific as were the growth-stage patterns of varietal effects on leaf endosphere and rhizosphere fungal communities. We further detected a less diverse but abundant core fungal taxa that could be grouped into three clusters associated mainly with location. This study characterized the interplay effects between plant selection (compartment, growth stage, variety) and environment (location) on wheat-associated mycobiomes by determining drivers of fungal community assembly and core fungal taxa in field conditions. KEY POINTS: • Fungal community assembly was mainly shaped by sample type and growth stage • A lower diversity and more abundant core fungal taxa were shown at heading stage • Location had stronger effects on fungal community assembly than variety.

RESUMO

V3 O7 ·H2 O nanobelts/reduced graphene oxide (rGO) composites (weight ratio: 86%/14%) are synthesized by a microwave approach with a high yield (85%) through controlling pH with acids. The growth mechanisms of the highly crystalline nanobelts (average diameter: 25 nm; length: ≈20 µm; oriented along the [101] direction) have been thoroughly investigated, with the governing role of the acid upon the morphology and oxidation state of vanadium disclosed. When used as the ZIB cathode, the composite can deliver a high specific capacity of 410.7 and 385.7 mAh g-1 at the current density of 0.5 and 4 A g-1 , respectively, with a high retention of the capacity of 93%. The capacity of the composite is greater than those of V3 O7 · H2 O, V2 O5 nanobelts, and V5 O12 · 6H2 O film. Zinc ion storage in V3 O7 ·H2 O/rGO is mainly a pseudocapacitive behavior rather than ion diffusion. The presence of rGO enables outstanding cycling stability of up to 1000 cycles with a capacity retention of 99.6%. Extended cycling shows a gradual phase transition, that is, from the original orthorhombic V3 O7 · H2 O to a stable hexagonal Zn3 (VO4 )2 (H2 O)2.93 phase, which is a new electrochemical route found in V3 O7 materials. This phase transition process provides new insight into the reactions of aqueous ZIBs.
