RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Zhumian Tang formula granules combined with eszopiclone for treating poor sleep quality. METHODS: This multi-center, dynamic block-randomized, parallel-group superiority clinical trial included 130 patients. The combined treatment group received Zhumian Tang formula granules combined with eszopiclone treatment, and the control group received eszopiclone treatment only. The group allocation ratio was 1∶1. The duration of treatment was 2 weeks. Participants were asked to complete questionnaires before treatment, after 1 week of the intervention, after 2 weeks of the intervention, and at the follow-up on week 3. The primary outcomes were the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) score and the total effective rate of treatment. The secondary outcome was the rate of adverse effects. RESULTS: Compared with the eszopiclone treatment group, the PSQI score of the combined treatment group was significantly lower after 2 weeks of the intervention (6.98 vs 8.26, P < 0.05). However, there was no significant difference in the mean PSQI score after 1 week of the intervention (9.89 vs 9.15, P = 0.124). After the follow-up on week 3, the PSQI score of the combined treatment group remained significantly lower than that of the eszopiclone treatment group (6.12 vs 8.31, P < 0.001). The total effective rates of treatment of the combined group and the eszopiclone group were 36.92% vs 35.38% (Z = 0.033, P = 0.855) after 1 week of the intervention, 83.08% vs 58.46% (Z = 9.519, P < 0.05) after 2 weeks of the intervention, and 83.08% vs 61.54% (Z = 7.530, P < 0.05) and after the follow-up on week 3, respectively. There was no significant difference in the overall rate of adverse reactions between the combined and eszopiclone treatment groups (21.53% vs 31.8%, P = 0.318). CONCLUSION: The combination of Zhumian Tang formula granules with eszopiclone was found to be safe and more effective in improving sleep quality than eszopiclone alone. Traditional Chinese medicine can enhance the effectiveness of Western medicine in the treatment of insomnia.

RESUMO

Cardinal features of lupus include elevated B cell activation and autoantibody production with a female sex preponderance. We quantified interactions of sex and genetic variation on the development of autoimmune B-cell phenotypes and autoantibodies in the BXD2 murine model of lupus using a cohort of backcrossed progeny (BXD2 x C57BL/6J) x BXD2. Sex was the key factor leading to increased total IgG, IgG2b, and autoantibodies. The percentage of T-bet+CD11c+ IgD+ activated naive B cells (aNAV) was higher in females and was associated with increased T-bet+CD11c+ IgD- age-related B cells, Fas+GL7+ germinal center B cells, Cxcr5-Icos+ peripheral T-helper cells, and Cxcr5+Icos+ follicular T-helper cells. IFN-ß was elevated in females. Variation in aNAV cells was mapped to Chr 7 in a locus that shows significant interactions between the female sex and heterozygous B/D variant. Our results suggest that activation of naive B cells forms the basis for the female-predominant development of autoantibodies in lupus-susceptible BXD2 mice.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Traditional Chinese Medicine prescriptions for resolving phlegm in the treatment of angina pectoris of phlegm-stasis coronary heart disease by a network Meta-analysis. METHODS: Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on clinical efficacy of CHD angina pectoris with interaction of phlegm and blood stasis were searched in PubMed, Springer, the Cochrane Library and Chinese-language databases China National Knowledge Infrastructure, China Science and Technology Journal Database, and Wanfang Data from their inception to December 2021. Literature was screened and literature bias risk was assessed by RevMan5.4 software. The overall response rate, the duration of angina attack, the levels of serum lipids such as total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), and expression of hypersensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) were selected as outcome indicators for network Meta-analysis and mapped using Stata15.1 software. RESULTS: Totally, 26 RCTs were included, involving 2098 participants. There were 6 TCM formulas with the effects of dispelling phlegm and removing blood stasis. Taking conventional Western Medicine as the common intervention measures, the results showed that the overall response improvement rate from high to low was displayed as modified Xiaoxianxiong decoction (, MXD), Danlou tablet (, DT), modified Gualou Xiebai Banxia decoction (, MGXBD), modified Wendan decoction (, MWD), modified Zhishi Xiebai Guizhi decoction (, MZXGD), and modified Erchen decoction (, MED). The sequence of angina attack duration improvement from high to low was MZXGD, MGXBD, DT, MWD, MXD. The sequence of TC improvement from high to low was MZXGD, MED, DT, and MGXBD. Sequence of improving TG from high to low was MED, MZXGD, MGXBD, and DT. For LDL-C improvement, the effect from good to poor was MZXGD, MGXBD, DT, and MED. With regard to HDL-C improvement, the effect was ranked as MED, MZXGD, MGXBD, and DT from good to poor. hs-CRP expression from high to low was MZXGD, MXD, MED, MWD, and MGXBD. CONCLUSION: TCM formula with the effects of dispelling phlegm and removing blood stasis combined with conventional Western Medicine has obvious advantages in treating CHD angina pectoris with interaction of phlegm and blood stasis. MZXGD has great potential in increasing the overall response rate, reducing Duration of angina attack improving blood lipids, and reducing inflammatory factors. However, due to the limitations of extant studies, the conclusions of this study need to be confirmed by numerous reasonably-designed RCTs.

RESUMO

The porcine epidemic diarrhea virus, PEDV, which causes diarrhea, vomiting and death in piglets, causes huge economic losses. Therefore, understanding how to induce mucosal immune responses in piglets is essential in the mechanism and application against PEDV infection with mucosal immunity. A method of treatment in our research was used to make an oral vaccine that packaged the inactive PEDV with microencapsulation, which consisted of sodium alginate and chitosan, and adapted the condition of the gut in mice. The in vitro release experiment of microcapsules showed that inactive PEDV was not only easily released in saline and acid solutions but also had an excellent storage tolerance, and was suitable for use as an oral vaccine. Interestingly, both experimental groups with different doses of inactive virus enhanced the secretion of specific antibodies in the serum and intestinal mucus, which caused the effective neutralization against PEDV in the Vero cell by both IgG and IgA, respectively. Moreover, the microencapsulation could stimulate the differentiation of CD11b+ and CD11c+ dendritic cells, which means that the microencapsulation was also identified as an oral adjuvant to help phagocytosis of dendritic cells in mice. Flow cytometry revealed that the B220+ and CD23+ of the B cells could significantly increase antibody production with the stimulation from the antigens' PEDV groups, and the microencapsulation could also increase the cell viability of B cells, stimulating the secretion of antibodies such as IgG and IgA in mice. In addition, the microencapsulation promoted the expression of anti-inflammatory cytokines, such as IL-10 and TGF-ß. Moreover, proinflammatory cytokines, such as IL-1, TNF-α, and IL-17, were inhibited by alginate and chitosan in the microencapsulation groups compared with the inactivated PEDV group. Taken together, our results demonstrate that the microparticle could play the role of mucosal adjuvant, and release inactivated PEDV in the gut, which can effectively stimulate mucosal and systemic immune responses in mice.

RESUMO

Objectives: In recent years, enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) has been widely used in the field of urology, especially in radical cystectomy and radical prostatectomy, and has demonstrated its advantages. Although studies on the application of ERAS in partial nephrectomy for renal tumors are increasing, the conclusions are mixed, especially in terms of postoperative complications, etc, and its safety and efficacy are questionable. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to assess the safety and efficacy of ERAS in the application of partial nephrectomy for renal tumors. Methods: Pubmed, Embase, Cohrance library, Web of science and Chinese databases (CNKI, VIP, Wangfang and CBM) were systematically searched for all published literature related to the application of enhanced recovery after surgery in partial nephrectomy for renal tumors from the date of establishment to July 15, 2022, and the literature was screened by inclusion/exclusion criteria. The quality of the literature was evaluated for each of the included literature. This Meta-analysis was registered on PROSPERO (CRD42022351038) and data were processed using Review Manager 5.4 and Stata 16.0SE. The results were presented and analyzed by weighted mean difference (WMD), Standard Mean Difference (SMD) and risk ratio (RR) at their 95% confidence interval (CI). Finally, the limitations of this study are analyzed in order to provide a more objective view of the results of this study. Results: This meta-analysis included 35 literature, including 19 retrospective cohort studies and 16 randomized controlled studies with a total of 3171 patients. The ERAS group was found to exhibit advantages in the following outcome indicators: postoperative hospital stay (WMD=-2.88, 95% CI: -3.71 to -2.05, p<0.001), total hospital stay (WMD=-3.35, 95% CI: -3.73 to -2.97, p<0.001), time to first postoperative bed activity (SMD=-3.80, 95% CI: -4.61 to -2.98, p < 0.001), time to first postoperative anal exhaust (SMD=-1.55, 95% CI: -1.92 to -1.18, p < 0.001), time to first postoperative bowel movement (SMD=-1.52, 95% CI: -2.08 to -0.96, p < 0.001), time to first postoperative food intake (SMD=-3.65, 95% CI: -4.59 to -2.71, p<0.001), time to catheter removal (SMD=-3.69, 95% CI: -4.61 to -2.77, p<0.001), time to drainage tube removal (SMD=-2.77, 95% CI: -3.41 to -2.13, p<0.001), total postoperative complication incidence (RR=0.41, 95% CI: 0.35 to 0.49, p<0.001), postoperative hemorrhage incidence (RR=0.41, 95% CI: 0.26 to 0.66, p<0.001), postoperative urinary leakage incidence (RR=0.27, 95% CI: 0.11 to 0.65, p=0.004), deep vein thrombosis incidence (RR=0.14, 95% CI: 0.06 to 0.36, p<0.001), and hospitalization costs (WMD=-0.82, 95% CI: -1.20 to -0.43, p<0.001). Conclusion: ERAS is safe and effective in partial nephrectomy of renal tumors. In addition, ERAS can improve the turnover rate of hospital beds, reduce medical costs and improve the utilization rate of medical resources. RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the Doppler ultrasound blood flow of Renying (carotid artery) pulse, Cunkou (radial artery) pulse, and Fuyang (anterior tibial artery) pulse in the normal group and the functional constipation with gastrointestinal heat (FCGH) group, and to compare and explore the differences of Renying, Cunkou and Fuyang pulses. METHODS: Sixty normal subjects and 60 patients with gastrointestinal heat constipation were collected in the department of ultrasound, Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Capital Medical University. Doppler ultrasound was used to observe the blood flow indexes including maximum systolic velocity (Vp), maximum diastolic velocity (Vd), mean velocity (Vm), pulse index (PI), resistance index (RI), vascular diameter (D), and circulation blood flow cycle (ET) of Renying pulse, Cunkou pulse and Fuyang pulse in the normal group and patients with gastrointestinal heat constipation. The differences of these three pulses were compared between the normal group and the FCGH group. RESULTS: The PI, Vp, Vm, RI, and D of the three pulses in the normal group were statistically significant different ( < 0.01). In the comparison of Doppler flow diagram of three pulses in the FCGH group, there were significant differences in PI, Vd, Vp, Vm, RI, and D ( < 0.01). CONCLUSION: Under normal conditions, the indexes of Renying pulse Doppler flow diagram, Cunkou pulse Doppler flow diagram, and Fuyang pulse Doppler flow diagram are significantly different. In the FCGH group, most of the indexes of Renying pulse Doppler flow diagram, Cunkou pulse Doppler flow diagram, and Fuyang pulse Doppler flow diagram are different. This result verified the necessity of simultaneous examinations of all Renying, Cunkou, and Fuyang pulses in modern Chinese medicine.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: Degradative enzymes such as matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) and disintegrin metalloproteinase with platelet thrombin-sensitive protein-like motifs (ADAMTS) play a key role in the development of osteoarthritis (OA). We aimed to investigate the effects of OA subchondral osteoblasts on the expression of ADAMTS4, ADAMTS5, MMP-3, MMP-9, and MMP-13 in chondrocytes and the regulation of mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway. METHODS: A rat knee OA model was constructed by cutting the anterior cruciate ligament of the knee joints, and normal rat articular cartilage chondrocytes (N-ACC), OA rat articular cartilage chondrocytes (O-ACC), normal subchondral bone osteoblasts (N-SBO), and OA subchondral bone osteoblasts (O-SBO) were isolated and extracted. The expressions of O-ACC and O-SBO COL1 and COL2 were detected respectively. Chondrocytes were identified by immunofluorescence of COL2 and toluidine blue staining, and osteoblasts were identified by COL1 immunofluorescence, alkaline phosphatase (ALP), and Alizarin Red staining. Gene expression of COL1, COL2, and aggrecan in normal chondrocytes and OA chondrocytes, and gene expression of osteoblast ALP and osteocalcin (OCN) were detected by RT-PCR to identify the two chondrocytes and the two osteoblast phenotypes. The constructing N-ACC group, O-ACC group, N-ACC + N-SBO group, N-ACC + O-SBO group, O-ACC + N-SBO group, O-ACC + O-SBO group, I + N-ACC + O-SBO group, and I + O-ACC + O-SBO group cell cultures, and the expression of ERK, ADAMTS4, ADAMTS5, MMP-3, MMP-9, and MMP-13 genes in chondrocytes cultured for 0, 24, 48, and 72 h were detected by RT-PCR. The protein expressions of pERK, ADAMTS4, ADAMTS5, MMP-3, MMP-9, and MMP-13 were detected by Western blot. RESULTS: · The X-ray showed that the knee joint space of the affected limb became narrow.. · The results of RT-PCR of COL2 and aggrecan gene in OA and normal chondrocytes suggest that the relative expression of COL2 in OA articular chondrocytes (0.24 ± 0.07) is significantly lower than that in normal cartilage (0.61 ± 0.07) (p < 0.05). The relative expression of AGG (0.37 ± 0.16) in OA chondrocytes was significantly lower than that of normal chondrocytes AGG (1.30 ± 0.25) (p < 0.05). The expression of COL1 was very low, and was not statistically significant.. · The results of RT-PCR of the osteoblast ALP and OCN gene indicated that gene expression of ALP (12.30 ± 1.17) and OCN (20.47 ± 4.19)was upregulated when compared with the relative expression of ALP (4.66 ± 0.71) (p < 0.05) and OCN (12.17 ± 2.76) (p < 0.05) in normal osteoblasts, indicating that osteoblasts of OA have greater osteogenic potential than normal osteoblasts.. · The expressions of ADAMTS4, ADAMTS5, MMP-3, MMP-9, and MMP-13 genes and proteins in OA chondrocytes or normal chondrocytes were basically unchanged when they were cocultured with normal osteoblasts. Indirect coculture of OA osteoblasts and chondrocytes could promote the expression of ADAMTS4, ADAMTS5, MMP-3, MMP-9, and MMP-13 genes and proteins in chondrocytes. Overexpression of ADAMTS and MMP in coculture systems can be reversed by MAPK-ERK inhibitors.. CONCLUSIONS: · OA subchondral bone osteoblasts can promote the overexpression of ADAMTS and MMPs in chondrocytes.. · The ERK signaling pathway may be involved in the regulation of the effect of subchondral bone osteoblasts on chondrocytes..

RESUMO

The main goal of this study is to explore the drivers of meaningful sport consumption and its influence mechanism. In sports consumption, consumers not only seek hedonic value but also pursue to experience greater purpose and meaning in life, which is regarded as meaningful sports consumption. This study extends existing sports management literature by examining how social needs impact meaningful sports behavior with team affiliation, self-improvement, and self-esteem as mediators. Based on the questionnaire data collected from China, the empirical analysis results show that social needs have a significant positive impact on meaningful sports consumption behavior through the mediating effect of team affiliation and self-esteem motivation. However, self-improvement motivation does not have a mediating effect on the relationship between social needs and meaningful sports consumption. This study enriches the research content of sports consumption, adds research object of social needs, and expands the research scope of meaningful consumption by introducing meaningful sports consumption into the above domain.

RESUMO

Developmental dyscalculia (DD) is characterized by insufficient mathematical learning ability and weaker mathematical performance than peers who are developmentally typical. As a subtype of learning disability, developmental dyscalculia contributes to deep cognitive processing deficits, mainly manifested as a lack of numerical processing ability. This study utilized event-related potentials (ERPs) technology to examine the negative priming effects (NP) between children with and without DD. Behaviorally, trends in mean reaction time (RT) were consistent between children with and without DD under prime and control conditions. The developmental dyscalculia group and the typical developmental (TD) children group showed a significant negative priming effect. However, the magnitude of the NP was significantly different between two groups, with the magnitude being significantly higher in the TD group than the DD group. In terms of the ERPs results, there were significantly larger amplitudes of P100, P200, and P300 in the TD group than that of children with DD. At the same time, in the DD group, N100 and P300 latency were significantly delayed in some electrodes than the TD group. The results indicated that there were characteristic inhibition deficits in children with DD. Inhibition defects in children with DD might be the underlying cause of the development of digital processing ability of children with DD.

RESUMO

Paracetamol (APAP) is one of the most widely used non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, which is frequently detected in various water bodies. Studies are limited about its toxic effects and mechanisms on non-target aquatic organisms. In this study, an estuarine bottom-dwelling fish named Mugilogobius chulae, distributed in southern China, was selected as experimental species and the changes of PXR signaling pathway, a key signaling pathway of detoxification metabolic system in liver, were investigated under APAP exposure (0.5 µg·L-1, 5 µg·L-1, 50 µg·L-1 and 500 µg·L-1) for 24 h, 72 h and 168 h. Results showed that the key genes (e.g., P-gp, MRP1, CYP1A, CYP3A, GST and SULT) and the enzymatic activities of GST, EROD and ERND in PXR signaling pathway were induced to meet the requirements of detoxification metabolism. By up-regulating the expression of GCLC gene, the reductive small molecule GSH can be rapidly synthesized to counteract the attack of free radicals produced by APAP exposure. The expressions of SIRT1 and SIRT2 proteins decreased, while the expressions of most genes in PXR signaling pathway increased. It was speculated that the expression of PXR and its downstream target genes may be regulated epigenetically by SIRT1 and SIRT2. Studies showed that the exposure to environmental relevant concentrations of APAP can affect the detoxification metabolism of non-target organisms such as Mugilogobius chulae.

RESUMO

Aroma is one of the most important sensory properties of tea. Floral-fungal aroma type, ripe-fungal aroma type and fresh-fungal aroma type were the main aroma types of Fu brick tea by QDA. A total of 112 volatile compounds were identified and quantified in tea samples by HS-SPME/GC-MS analysis. Ten voaltiles in floral-fungal aroma type, eleven voaltiles in ripe-fungal aroma type, and eighteen voaltiles in fresh-fungal aroma type were identified as key aroma compounds for the aroma characteristics formation in three aroma types of Fu brick tea. In addition, PLS analysis revealed that 3,4-dehydro-ß-ionone, dihydro-ß-ionone, (+)-carotol and linalool oxide Ⅱ were the key contributors to the 'floral and fruity' attribute, α-terpineol contributed to 'woody' and 'stale' attributes, and thirteen aroma compounds related to 'green' attribute. Taken together, these findings will provide new insights into the formation mechanism of different aroma characteristics in Fu brick tea.

RESUMO

Background: Preoperative stereotactic planning of deep brain stimulation (DBS) using computed tomography (CT) imaging in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) is of clinical interest. However, frame-induced metal artifacts are common in clinical practice, which can be challenging for neurosurgeons to visualize brain structures. Objectives: To evaluate the image quality and radiation exposure of patients with stereotactic frame brain CT acquired using a dual-source CT (DSCT) system in single- and dual-energy modes. Materials and Methods: We included 60 consecutive patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) and randomized them into two groups. CT images of the brain were performed using DSCT (Group A, an 80/Sn150 kVp dual-energy mode; Group B, a 120 kVp single-energy mode). One set of single-energy images (120 kVp) and 10 sets of virtual monochromatic images (50-140 keV) were obtained. Subjective image analysis of overall image quality was performed using a five-point Likert scale. For objective image quality evaluation, CT values, image noise, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and contrast-to-noise (CNR) were calculated. The radiation dose was recorded for each patient. Results: The mean effective radiation dose was reduced in the dual-energy mode (1.73 mSv ± 0.45 mSv) compared to the single-energy mode (3.16 mSv ± 0.64 mSv) (p < 0.001). Image noise was reduced by 46-52% for 120-140 keV VMI compared to 120 kVp images (both p < 0.01). CT values were higher at 100-140 keV than at 120 kVp images. At 120-140 keV, CT values of brain tissue showed significant differences at the level of the most severe metal artifacts (all p < 0.05). SNR was also higher in the dual-energy mode 90-140 keV compared to 120 kVp images, showing a significant difference between the two groups at 120-140 keV (all p < 0.01). The CNR was significantly better in Group A for 60-140 keV VMI compared to Group B (both p < 0.001). The highest subjective image scores were found in the 120 keV images, while 110-140 keV images had significantly higher scores than 120 kVp images (all p < 0.05). Conclusion: DSCT images using dual-energy modes provide better objective and subjective image quality for patients with PD at lower radiation doses compared to single-energy modes and facilitate brain tissue visualization with stereotactic frame DBS procedures.

RESUMO

Society is currently contemplating sustainable growth strategies, which have become somewhat apprehensive by associating entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainable development. In this perspective, this article's objective is to connect sustainable development to environmentally sensitive entrepreneurship via scientific proof of developing nations. Therefore, this research objective is to confirm the hypothesis of corporate social responsibility (CSR) to confirm that Pakistan achieves its objectives for sustainable development. The combined average estimator and pooled mean group (PMG) model of the self-release lag model determines a lengthy-term combination of factors and environmental analysis in the Kuznets. We can see the U-shaped ecological arcs in Pakistan. Further results show that the pooled mean group autoregressive distributed lag (PMG-ARDL) estimator has a long-term relationship. This indicates that a 1% rise in per-capita income at some stage of industrial growth will reduce environmental emissions by 2.88%, 4.54%, and 2.48%. The results show that (1) CSR has a substantial and robust link to the two factors of organizational success (employee engagement and credibility); (ii) respectively socio-cultural and ecological CSR make a positive contribution to the success of Pakistani companies; (iii) the ecological dimensions of CSR being the essential relevance to Pakistani companies' credibility and engagement of employees. This research attempts to include additional analytical information on the contribution of CSR to profitable growth. This also has academic and empirical ramifications, showing how domestic and international companies in developing countries can do CSR. This research is expected to give guidance to policymakers.

RESUMO

Objective: programmed cell removal in atherosclerotic plaques plays a crucial role in retarding lesion progression. Macrophage apoptosis has a critical role in PrCR, especially in early-stage lesions. YKL-40 has been shown to be elevated as lesions develop and is closely related to macrophages. This study aimed to determine the effect of YKL-40 on regulating macrophage apoptosis and early-stage atherosclerosis progression. Research design and Methods: The correlations among the expression level of YKL-40, the area of early-stage plaque, and the macrophage apoptosis rate in plaques have been shown in human carotid atherosclerotic plaques through pathological and molecular biological detection. These results were successively confirmed in vivo (Ldlr -/- mice treated by YKL-40 recombinant protein/neutralizing antibody) and in vitro (macrophages that Ykl40 up-/down-expressed) experiments. The downstream targets were predicted by iTRAQ analysis. Results: In early-stage human carotid plaques and murine plaques, the YKL-40 expression level had a significant positive correlation with the area of the lesion and a significant negative correlation with the macrophage apoptosis rate. In vivo, the plaque area of aortic roots was significantly larger in the recomb-YKL-40 group than that in IgG group (p = 0.0247) and was significantly smaller in the anti-YKL-40 group than in the IgG group (p = 0.0067); the macrophage apoptosis rate of the plaque in aortic roots was significantly lower in the recomb-YKL-40 group than that in IgG group (p = 0.0018) and was higher in anti-YKL-40 group than that in VC group. In vitro, the activation level of caspase-9 was significantly lower in RAW264.7 with Ykl40 overexpressed than that in controls (p = 0.0054), while the expression level of Aven was significantly higher than that in controls (p = 0.0031). The apoptosis rate of RAW264.7 treated by recomb-YKL40 was significantly higher in the Aven down-regulated group than that in the control group (p < 0.001). The apoptosis inhibitor Aven was confirmed as the target molecule of YKL-40. Mechanistically, YKL-40 could inhibit macrophage apoptosis by upregulating Aven to suppress the activation of caspase-9. Conclusion: YKL-40 inhibits macrophage apoptosis by upregulating the apoptosis inhibitor Aven to suppress the activation of caspase-9, which may impede normal PrCR and promote substantial accumulation in early-stage plaques, thereby leading to the progression of atherosclerosis.

RESUMO

Measurements of angular vibration of aerial cameras in a variety of operating conditions are critical to analyze the performance of the vibration isolation system. Instead of using an additional optical system to measure the angular motion of the camera, an image-based and easy-to-implement method is proposed for the linear array camera to measure the image motions captured by the camera directly. The natural frequencies of the vibration isolation were also measured by laboratory vibration test. For image vibration measuring, the angular vibration is represented in image motion by the relationship between the image motion and angular motion of the camera. Based on the pushbroom imaging principle, the image motion at the edge of the foreground image of the linear object is extracted using image processing technology including image segment and edge detection methods. Then the image motion is analyzed in the time and frequency domains. The proposed method has been successfully demonstrated for the angular vibration measurement by a flight test. The results of the vibration sensors and the position and orientation system of the flight tests are also given to validate the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed approach.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: TGFß1 plays an important role in the metabolism of articular cartilage and bone; however, the pathological mechanism and targets of TGFß1 in cartilage degradation and uncoupling of subchondral bone remodeling remain unclear. Therefore, in this study, we investigated the relationship between TGFß1 and major protein-degrading enzymes, and evaluated the role of high levels of active TGFß1 in the thickening of subchondral bone and calcification of articular cartilage. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The expression of TGFß1 and protein-degrading enzymes in clinical samples of articular cartilage and subchondral bone obtained from the knee joint of patients with osteoarthritis was detected by immunohistochemistry. The expression levels of TGFß1, MMP-3, MMP-13 and IL-1ß in cartilage and subchondral bone tissues were detected by absolute real-time quantitative RT-PCR. The expression of TGFß1, nestin and osterix in subchondral bone was detected by Western blot analysis and immunohistochemistry. The degree of subchondral bone thickening was determined by micro-computed tomography (CT) imaging. RESULTS: Expression of TGFß1 and cartilage-degrading enzymes was higher in the cartilage-disrupted group than that in the intact group. Furthermore, expression of TGFß1, nestin and osterix was significantly higher in the OA group than that in the control group. Micro-CT imaging showed that in the OA group, the subchondral bone plate is thickened and the density is increased. The trabecular bone structure is thick plate-like structure, the thickness of the trabecular bone is increased and the gap is small. CONCLUSIONS: The data suggest that highly active TGFß1 activates the expression of cartilage-degrading enzymes. Abnormally activated TGFß1 may induce formation of the subchondral bone and expansion of the calcified cartilage area, eventually leading to degradation of the cartilage tissue.

RESUMO

In this study, Andrographis paniculata seedlings were used as experimental materials to study the effects of salicylic acid(SA) on the growth and effective component accumulation of A. paniculata under NaCl stress. The results showed that with the increase of NaCl concentration, the growth of A. paniculata seedlings was significantly inhibited, and the content of carotene and carotenoid decreased. The activity of antioxidant enzyme was enhanced. At the same time, the contents of proline, proline and soluble protein were on the rise. The contents of andrographolide, new andrographolide and deoxyandrographolide showed an upward trend, while deoxyandrographolide showed a downward trend. Treatment with 100 mmol·L~(-1) NaCl+5 mg·L~(-1) SA showed a significant increase in antioxidant enzyme activity in A. paniculata leaves. Treatment with 100 mmol·L~(-1) NaCl+10 mg·L~(-1) SA showed significant changes in soluble protein and proline content in A. paniculata leaves, while MDA content in A. paniculata leaves significantly decreased. 10 mg·L~(-1) SA had the best effect on the growth of A. paniculata seedlings under salt stress. Under the treatment of 50 mmol·L~(-1) NaCl+10 mg·L~(-1) SA, fresh weight, dry weight and leaf dry weight of A. paniculata seedlings reached the highest level, which were 1.02, 1.09 and 1.11 times of those in the control group, respectively. The concentrations of NaCl and 10 mg·L~(-1) SA were significantly higher than those of the control group. Four key enzyme genes of A. paniculata diterpene lactone synthesis pathway were selected to explore the molecular mechanism of salicylic acid to alleviate salt stress. With the increase of salt stress, the relative expressions of HMGR, GGPS and ApCPS were up-regulated, indicating that salt stress may enhance the synthesis of A. paniculata diterpene lactone through MVA pathway. SA can effectively promote the growth and development of A. paniculata under salt stress, improve its osmotic regulation and antioxidant capacity, improve its salt tolerance, and alleviate the effects of salt stress on A. paniculata.

RESUMO

In this work, a 45° tilted fiber grating (TFG) is used as a waveguide coupler for the development of a portable interrogation system to access remotely placed optical fiber sensors. The TFG is directly connected to a remote fiber sensor and serves as a highly efficient light coupler between the portable interrogation unit and the sensor. Variation of strain and temperatures are measured with a standard fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensor, which serves as a remotely placed optical sensor. A light beam from the interrogation unit is coupled into the TFG by a system of lenses, mirrors and optical collimator and acted as the input of the FBG. Reflected light from the FBG sensor is coupled back to the interrogation unit via the same TFG. The TFG is being used as a receiver and transmitter of light and constituent the key part of the system to connect "light source to the optical sensor" and "optical sensor to detector." A successful demonstration of the developed system for strain and temperature sensing applications have been presented and discussed. Signal to noise ratio of the reflected light from the sensors was greater than ∼ 40 dB.

RESUMO

Massive multi-color visible light communications (mMC-VLC) sufficiently utilizing space and color domain resources is proposed to satisfy high-spectral-efficiency, high-speed, and high-density-coverage requirements of next-generation indoor data connections. However, the gap between the number of LEDs and photodiodes (PDs) and the high correlation among different channels limit the multiplexing of mMC-VLC. Also, the mobility of the receiver is the bottleneck of mMC-VLC. So, adaptive spatial-layout selection (ASLS) is proposed to settle the above problems, which selects $ N $N sets $ n $n-color LEDs from the transmitter to form an approximate optimal closed-circle layout adapting to the receiver position. First, the optimal parameter problems to minimize the ill condition of the activated system under layout constraints of the closed circle and linear types are formulated for a fixed receiver position. Second, to achieve adaptivity, the fitting curves of the optimal layout parameter and $ {D_v} $Dv under both constraints are researched; $ {D_v} $Dv is the vertical distance between the transmitter and receiver planes. Finally, the closest layout-selected principle (CLSP) is proposed to solve the problem of the LEDs perhaps not perfectly forming the optimal parameter layout for mMC-VLC. The bit-error ratio (BER) performances and application scopes of ASLS under both layout constraints are compared to determine that the constraint layout is a closed circle; meanwhile the available maximal $ N $N corresponding to the receiver position is obtained. The optimal parameter of ASLS is linearly related to the receiver position and not related to $ N $N. The ASLS always achieves better BER performance than optical multi-stream spatial modulation.

RESUMO

We develop a compact, high signal-to-noise ratio line-detector array Compton scatter imaging system based on Y2SiO5 scintillators and silicon photomultipliers. It is shown that the system's response uniformity is better than 98% for low-Zeff materials after a specific correction. Backscatter images of an "IHEP"-character model, cubes of different materials, and some other applications are presented, to show its potential for use in nondestructive testing.
