RESUMO

Circuits based on organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs) have great potential in the fields of biosensors and artificial neural computation due to their biocompatibility and neural similarity. However, the integration of OECT-based circuits lags far behind other emerging electronics. Here, ternary inverters based on antiambipolar vertical OECTs (vOECTs) and their integration with the establishment of neural networks are demonstrated. Specifically, by adopting a small molecule (t-gdiPDI) as the channel of vOECT, high antiambipolar performance, with current density of 33.9 ± 2.1 A cm-2 under drain voltage of 0.1 V, peak voltage ≈0 V, low driving voltage < ± 0.6 V, and current on/off ratio > 106, are realized. Consequently, vertically stacked ternary circuits based solely on OECTs are constructed for the first time, showing three distinct logical states and high integration density. By further developing inverter array as the internal fundamental units of ternary weight network hardware circuits for ternary processing and computation, it demonstrates excellent data classification and recognition capabilities. This work demonstrates the possibility of constructing multi-valued logic circuits by OECTs and promotes a new strategy for high-density integration and multivalued computing systems based on organic circuits.

RESUMO

Purpose: We aimed to develop a nomogram to predict prognosis of HR+ HER2- breast cancer patients and guide the application of postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. Methods: We identified 310 eligible HR+ HER- breast cancer patients and randomly divided the database into a training group and a validation group. The endpoint was disease free survival (DFS). Concordance index (C-index), area under the curve (AUC) and calibration curves were used to evaluate predictive accuracy and discriminative ability of the nomogram. We also compared the predictive accuracy and discriminative ability of our nomogram with the eighth AJCC staging system using overall data. Results: According to the training group, platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), tumor size, positive lymph nodes and Ki-67 index were used to construct the nomogram of DFS. The C-index of DFS was 0.708 (95% CI: 0.623-0.793) in the training group and 0.67 (95% CI: 0.544-0.796) in the validation group. The calibration curves revealed great consistencies in both groups. Conclusion: We have developed and validated a novel and practical nomogram that can provide individual prediction of DFS for patients with HR+ HER- breast cancer. This nomogram may help clinicians in risk consulting and guiding the application of postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy.

RESUMO

Ampelopsin (AMP) had a wound-healing effect in rat skin wounds with or without purulent infection. However, the role of AMP in diabetic wound healing remains poorly defined. Wounds were created on the dorsal skin of type 2 diabetic mouse model, and the histological features of wounds were examined by hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining. Caspase-1 activity and the secretion of inflammatory cytokines were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Cell viability and migration were examined through cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) and wound healing assays, respectively. AMP facilitated wound healing in vivo. AMP notably facilitated platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-31 (CD31), collagen type I alpha 1 chain (COL1A1), and alpha-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA), and inhibited matrix metallopeptidase 9 (MMP9) and cyclooxygenase 2 (Cox2) expression in diabetic wounds. The inflammasome pathway was implicated in skin injury. AMP inhibited pro-inflammatory factor secretions and NLR family pyrin domain containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome pathway in diabetic wounds and high glucose-treated THP-1 macrophages. AMP-mediated NLRP3 inflammasome inhibition in THP-1 macrophages increased cell viability and migratory capacity in HaCaT cells. AMP facilitated diabetic wound healing and increased keratinocyte cell viability and migratory ability by inhibiting the NLRP3 inflammasome pathway in macrophages.

RESUMO

Healthcare tends to be one of the most complicated sectors, and hospitals exist at the core of healthcare activities. One of the most significant elements in hospitals is service quality level. Moreover, the dependency between factors, dynamic features, as well as objective and subjective uncertainties involved endure challenges to modern decision-making problems. Thus, in this paper, a decision-making approach is developed for hospital service quality assessment, using a Bayesian copula network based on a fuzzy rough set within neighborhood operators as a basis of that to deal with dynamic features as well as objective uncertainties. In the copula Bayesian network model, the Bayesian Network is utilized to illustrate the interrelationships between different factors graphically, while Copula is engaged in obtaining the joint probability distribution. Fuzzy rough set theory within neighborhood operators is employed for the subjective treatment of evidence from decision makers. The efficiency and practicality of the designed method are validated by an analysis of real hospital service quality in Iran. A novel framework for ranking a group of alternatives with consideration of different criteria is proposed by the combination of the Copula Bayesian Network and the extended fuzzy rough set technique. The subjective uncertainty of decision makers' opinions is dealt with in a novel extension of fuzzy Rough set theory. The results highlighted that the proposed method has merits in reducing uncertainty and assessing the dependency between factors of complicated decision-making problems.

RESUMO

Heterosis, also known as hybrid vigor, is widely used in aquaculture, but the molecular causes for this phenomenon remain obscure. Here, we conducted a transcriptome analysis to unveil the gene expression patterns and molecular bases underlying thermo-resistant heterosis in Crassostrea gigas ♀ × Crassostrea angulata ♂ (GA) and C. angulata ♀ × C. gigas ♂ (AG). About 505 million clean reads were obtained, and 38,210 genes were identified, of which 3779 genes were differentially expressed between the reciprocal hybrids and purebreds. The global gene expression levels were toward the C. gigas genome in the reciprocal hybrids. In GA and AG, 95.69% and 92.00% of the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) exhibited a non-additive expression pattern, respectively. We observed all gene expression modes, including additive, partial dominance, high and low dominance, and under- and over-dominance. Of these, 77.52% and 50.00% of the DEGs exhibited under- or over-dominance in GA and AG, respectively. The over-dominance DEGs common to reciprocal hybrids were significantly enriched in protein folding, protein refolding, and intrinsic apoptotic signaling pathway, while the under-dominance DEGs were significantly enriched in cell cycle. As possible candidate genes for thermo-resistant heterosis, GRP78, major egg antigen, BAG, Hsp70, and Hsp27 were over-dominantly expressed, while MCM6 and ANAPC4 were under-dominantly expressed. This study extends our understanding of the thermo-resistant heterosis in oysters.

RESUMO

The dysregulation of immune system plays a crucial function in periodontitis development. Pro-inflammatory cytokines are thought to be critical for the generation and development of periodontitis. The enhanced activity of osteoclasts contributes to periodontitis pathogenesis. Nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) signaling pathway directly enhances osteoclast differentiation and maturation. 2-[(aminocarbonyl)amino]-5-(4-fluorophenyl)-3-thiophenecarboxamide (TPCA-1) is a IκB kinases (IKK) inhibitor. This research aimed to investigate whether TPCA-1 had influence on the pathogenesis of chronic periodontitis. Mouse chronic periodontitis was induced by an in vivo ligature-induced periodontitis model. TPCA-1 was intravenously injected into mice after chronic periodontitis induction. Bone marrow-derived macrophages were cultured in macrophage colony-stimulating factor (M-CSF)-conditioned media with receptor activator of nuclear factor-kappa B ligand (RANKL) induce in vitro osteoclast differentiation. Western blot was used to analyze protein levels and mRNA levels were analyzed through qRT-PCR. TPCA-1 promoted osteoclastogenesis and osteoclast-related gene expression in vitro. The production of pro-inflammatory cytokines in osteoclasts induced by lipopolysaccharides was inhibited by TPCA-1 in vitro. In vitro TPCA-1 treatment inhibited Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans (A.a)-induced expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines and NF-κB signal activation in osteoclasts. The induction of chronic periodontitis was inhibited by the absence of IKKb in mice. This research demonstrates that the treatment of TPCA-1 negatively regulates inflammation response and inhibits the osteoclastogenesis through the inactivation of NF-κB pathway in mouse chronic periodontitis model.

RESUMO

Currently, the common treatment for pulpitis and periapical diseases is root canal treatment. However, the complex variations of root canal system often affect the effect of root canal treatment and even lead to treatment failure. Therefore, it is of great significance for dentists to emphasize the diversity of root canal morphology and to be familiar with the anatomical morphology of root canal to improve the success rate of clinical diagnosis and treatment. We reported a case of an eight-year-old female patient of type V root canal in a young maxillary middle incisor. The young maxillary central incisor was diagnosed with irreversible pulpitis by radiography and CBCT examination. The present case report described the entire treatment procedure of a young maxillary central incisor after trauma, including successive apical examination, CBCT examination and multiple root canal filling, and finally the treatment was completed with the aid of microscope. The root canals were filled with the vertical compression technique. Z350 composite resin was used to repair the tooth. The patient was followed-up at three, six, and 12 months after endodontic treatment. All of the examinations were normal. Finding the anatomical configuration of root canal by various ways will help to improve the success rate of root canal therapy.

RESUMO

As a key component of direct methanol fuel cells, proton exchange membranes with suitable thickness and robust mechanical properties have attracted increasing attention. On the one hand, a thinner membrane gives a lower internal resistance, which contributes highly to the overall electrochemical performance of the cell, on the other hand, strong mechanical strength is required for the application of proton exchange membranes. In this work, a sulfonated poly (fluorenyl ether ketone) (SPFEK)-impregnated polyimide nanofiber mat composite membrane (PI@SPFEK) was fabricated. The new composite membrane with a thickness of about 55 µm exhibited a tensile strength of 35.1 MPa in a hydrated state, which is about 65.8% higher than that of the pristine SPFEK membrane. The antioxidant stability test in Fenton's reagent shows that the reinforced membrane affords better oxidation stability than does the pristine SPFEK membrane. Furthermore, the morphology, proton conductivity, methanol permeability, and fuel cell performance were carefully evaluated and discussed.

RESUMO

In this study, one-dimensional (1D) cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) were used to stabilize the dispersion of two-dimensional (2D) montmorillonite (MMT) plates in aqueous system. Then the prepared MMT/CNF solution was simultaneously merged into water soluble corn starch (CS) to obtain CS/MMT/CNF composite freestanding films through a casting method. The reinforcing effect from building blocks of MMT and CNF, interfacial interactions of hydrogen and covalent bonding together led to enhanced tensile strength and Young's modulus, reduced moisture susceptibility and increased transparency of the ternary CS nanocomposites. These extraordinary properties of the ternary nanocomposites clearly point towards a new strategy for designing and fabricating high-performance starch-based nanocomposites by using binary fillers with different geometric shapes and aspect ratio. This kind of ternary nanocomposite can be widely used in food packing and preservation as a biodegradable and green film.

RESUMO

Effectively modulating the magnetism of two-dimensional (2D) systems is critical for the application of magnetic nanostructures in quantum information devices. In this work, by employing density functional theory calculations, we found the coexistence of Co doping and strain can effectively control the spin states of arsenene and antimonene structures. Unstrained Co-doped arsenene (arsenene-Co) and Co-doped antimonene (antimonene-Co) structures are nonmagnetic while under a strain, the magnetic moments of both cases were abruptly increased to about 2 µ B. The emergence of magnetism can be reflected by the reduction of the interactions between Co and its neighboring atoms by the strain, which leads to the spin-splitting of Co-3d states. More importantly, we found that the transition of magnetism accompanies the modifications of the electronic properties of arsenene and antimonene so that under strain both structures can exhibit a novel half-metallic behavior. These results provide an effective pathway for the development of arsenene- and antimonene-based electronic devices by applying Co doping and strain.

RESUMO

The title compound, C(16)H(12)N(2)O(6)·2C(3)H(7)NO, lies across a crystallographic inversion centre which is situated at the midpoint of the central N-N bond. The substitution at the C=N bond adopts a trans configuration and it is essentially coplanar with the benzene ring [N-C-C-C torsion angles = -173.9 (4) and 6.4 (6)°]. All torsion angles involving non-H atoms are close to 180°. Intra-molecular O-H⋯O and weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds form S(6) and S(5) ring motifs, respectively, while inter-molecular O-H⋯O and weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect the Schiff base mol-ecule to solvent dimethyl-formamide mol-ecules.
