[Interference therapy in children with birth injuries of the brachial plexus]. / Primenenie interfentsionnoi terapii u detei s rodovymi povrezhdeniiami plechevogo spleteniia.

The effect of interference waves on natal injuries of the brachial plexus was studied in 31 patients. Positive trends were observed in muscular tone and performance, motor activity of the affected joints. Effectiveness of a course interference therapy reached 84.5%.

[The organizational status and tasks of sanatorium-health resort treatment and health promotion for children suffering as a result of the Chernobyl catastrophe]. / Sostoianie i zadachi organizatsii sanatorno-kurortnogo lecheniia i ozdorovleniia detei, postradavshikh v rezul'tate chernobyl'skoi katastrofy.

Al the Ukrainian Research Institute of Childhood Health-Resortology and Physiotherapy, more than 1000 children who became victims of the Chernobyl disaster were studied for their health status and time-related indices of same under the influence of the chief health-resort factors with the aid of the present-day clinical-and-laboratory, immunobiochemical, neurophysiological and radioimmunoassay techniques. The efficacies of the instituted therapies (87.9%) suggest that the above children may derive benefit from treatment at the Yevpatoriya health resort, with improvement of their health being consequent upon it. At the same time, primary tasks have been outlined, the solution of which tasks will, we believe, help in improving the diagnosis and quality of the treatments administered.

[A spectral analysis of the cardiac rhythm in children with cardiovascular diseases living in areas under radiation control]. / Spektral'nyi analiz serdechnogo ritma u detei s serdechno-sosudistymi zabolevaniiami, prozhivaiushchikh na territoriiakh radiatsionnogo kontrolia.

Spectral analysis of cardiac rhythm has determined characteristics of humoral, sympathetic and parasympathetic regulation in children with cardiac abnormalities and thyroid hyperplasia. The examinees demonstrated low activity of humoral immunity, high sympathetic influences, slight variability of frequency-amplitude characteristics. Sanatorium treatment improved regulation of cardiac activity. Spectral analysis of cardiac rhythm proved efficient for optimization of physiotherapy.

[The assessment at a sanatorium of the mental status of children who were victims of the Chernobyl catastrophe]. / Otsenka psikhicheskogo statusa v sanatorii u detei, postradavshikh ot Chernobyl'skoi katastrofy.

Psychic disorders are not infrequent findings in children who survived Chernobyl accident. This fact necessitates special psychotherapeutic, psychocorrective and psychoprophylactic treatment which should be added to standard therapeutic care in sanatoria.

[Multichannel electromyostimulation in patients with infantile cerebral palsy]. / Mnogokanal'naia élektromiostimuliatsiia u bol'nykh s detskim tserebral'nym paralichom.

The paper provides pathogenetic evidence for multichannel electrostimulation used by the author's procedure in patients with infantile cerebral paralysis. It also presents the clinical and functional findings of its use in combination with balneopelotherapy, massage, therapeutical exercises, and orthopedic prophylaxis. The therapeutic efficiency was 82.4 and 84.2% for patients with spastic diplegia and in those with hemiparetic infantile cerebral paralysis, respectively.

[Effect of mud therapy on the links in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis in children and adolescents]. / Vliianie griazelecheniia na nekotorye zven'ia patogeneza revmatoidnogo artrita u detei i podrostkov.

One hundred and ninety-nine children aged 7-14 and 177 adolescents in remission and minimal manifestations of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) were examined before and after fangotherapy with allowance for activity of the process, age-related reactivity. The comparison involved sympathetic-adrenal function (by urine excretion of epinephrine and norepinephrine), specific and nonspecific immune reactivity (by the level of IgA, IgM, IgG, circulating immune complexes, T and B lymphocytes; RF titers, leukocyte migration inhibition test), platelet components of hemostasis (number of platelets, adhesion induced by ADP and epinephrine).
