[Synchronous renal carcinoma and urothelioma of the contralateral renal pelvis]. / Carcinoma renale e urotelioma della pelvi controlaterale, sincroni.

A case characterized by a rare synchronous occurrence of transitional cell carcinoma of the renal pelvis and renal cell carcinoma in the contralateral kidney is presented. The simultaneous occurrence of renal adenocarcinoma and transitional cell carcinoma of the renal pelvis in the opposite kidney is unusual.

Evaluation of nucleolar organizer region-associated proteins in endometrial pathology.

In the current study the argyrophil staining technique for NOR proteins (Ag-NORs) has been performed on cases of different endometrial lesions, trying to find an aid in differentiating atypical hyperplasia from well differentiated carcinoma in biopsy specimens. We conclude that the Ag-NOR count, even though in endometrial carcinoma is significantly exceeding that of atypical hyperplastic endometrium, could be a misleading discriminator, because of a wide overlap of values in individual cases.

Benign lipomatous lesions of the uterus: 3 new cases, review of the literature and histogenetic considerations.

Three new cases of benign lipomatous lesions of the uterus are described, with particular attention to the possible relation between symptomatology and the presence of mast cells in the neoformation. The literature is reviewed, a brief history is presented of important stages in the study of these forms, and a new histogenetic theory proposed based on a different concept from those accepted to date.

Lactating supernumerary mammary gland tissue in the vulva.

2 cases of supernumerary breast tissue in the vulva observed in pregnant women are reported. The mammary tissue showed histological features typical of the lactating breast and immunohistochemical evidence of milk protein production.
