[Clinical evaluation of Divina in treatment of hormonal disturbances in women]. / Kliniczna ocena preparatu Divina w leczeniu zaburzen hormonalnych u kobiet.

The aim of this study was the assessment of clinical efficacy during hormonal treatment with Divina among women with hormonal cycle disturbances. Divina is a estrogen-progesatagen drug containing 2 mg valerate estradiol and 10 mg medroxyprogesteron acetate. The influence on lipid profile, liver and kidney activity and glucose tolerance was assessed. The measurement of bone density was performed twice before and after 6 months of treatment with Divina.

[Ovarian gonadal tumors in materials of the clinic of gynecological endocrinology of the Medical Academy in Poznan (1970-1998)]. / Nowotwory gonadalne jajnika w materiale kliniki endokrynologii ginekologicznej AM w Poznaniu (1970-1998).

11 patients with ovarian gonadal tumors were treated at Clinic of Endocrinological-Gynecology of Academy of Medicine in Poznan. All presented symptoms of hormonal ovetproduction. In 9 cases we performed adnexectomy, only in 1 case (patient after menopause) hysterectomy with bilateral adnexectomy.

[Surgical treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome]. / Operacyjne leczenie zespolu policystycznych jajników.

This analysis includes 67 cases of diagnosed polycystic ovary syndrome, which were treated by surgical procedure (ovarian wedge resection). Subjects to assessment were: efficacy of treatment by mean of menstrual cycle regulation and influence of wedge resection on patients hormonal profile.

[The role of apoptosis of granulosa cells in follicular atresia]. / Rola apoptozy komórek ziarnistych w procesie atrezji pecherzyków jajnikowych.

Apoptosis plays an important role in the process of morphogenesis and embryogenesis. Its increase or inhibition is an etiopathological factor in many different diseases. It has recently been shown that apoptosis of granulosa cells is one of the main mechanisms responsible for follicular atresia. There are many other factors influencing the process of granulosa cells apoptosis, among them the most important are: RnGH, FSH, LH, sex hormones (estrogens and androgens), growth factors and their receptors (EGF/TGF-alpha, FGF, IGF-1) and cytokines (e.g. TNF-alpha). The article presents data concerning the regulatory mechanisms of granulosa cells apoptosis in the ovary.

[Risks for atherosclerosis in post-menopausal women and in women with hormonal replacement therapy]. / Zagrozenie procesem miazdzycowym kobiet w okresie postmenopauzy i w trakcie zastepczej terapii hormonalnej.

The aim of our study was the evaluation of atherogenesis in postmenopausal women and after HRT in correlation with BMI, IGF-I and lipid profile. We have found unfavourable changes in lipid profile in positive correlation with BMI, after three months treatment we have found decrease in concentration of total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol between women with proper BMI.

[A case of true hermaphroditism]. / Przypadek obojniactwa prawdziwego.

In the paper we present the case of true hermaphroditism in young girl. The examinations revealed the presence of an ovary with left corn of the uterus at the left side and immature testis with seminal duct the right side.
