RESUMO

Potamanthidae belongs to the superfamily Ephemeroidea but has no complete mt genome released in the NCBI (except for two unchecked and one partial mt genome). Since the sister clade to Potamanthidae has always been controversial, we sequenced seven mt genomes of Potamanthidae (two species from Rhoenanthus and five species from Potamanthus) in order to rebuild the phylogenetic relationships of Potamanthidae in this study. The divergence time of Potamanthidae was also investigated by utilizing five fossil calibration points because of the indeterminate origin time. In addition, because Rhoenanthus coreanus and Potamanthus luteus are always in low-temperature environments, we aimed to explore whether these two species were under positive selection at the mt genome level. Amongst the 13 PCGs, CGA was used as the start codon in COX1, whereas other genes conformed to initiating with an ATN start codon. From this analysis, UUA (L), AUU (I), and UUU (F) had the highest usage. Furthermore, the DHU arm was absent in the secondary structure of S1 in all species. By combining the 13 PCGs and 2 rRNAs, we reconstructed the phylogenetic relationship of Potamanthidae within Ephemeroptera. The monophyly of Potamanthidae and the monophyly of Rhoenanthus and Potamanthus were supported in the results. The phylogenetic relationship of Potamanthidae + (Ephemeridae + Polymitarcyidae) was also recovered with a high prior probability. The divergence times of Potamanthidae were traced to be 90.44 Mya (95% HPD, 62.80-121.74 Mya), and the divergence times of Rhoenanthus and Potamanthus originated at approximately 64.77 Mya (95% HPD, 43.82-88.68 Mya), thus belonging to the late Pliocene Epoch or early Miocene Epoch. In addition, the data indicated that R. coreanus was under negative selection and that ATP8 and ND2 in Potamanthidae had a high evolutionary rate.

RESUMO

In order to study the effects of clean heating measures on the concentration and source of carbonaceous aerosols in PM2.5 in Baoding, we collected PM2.5 samples in Baoding during the winter heating periods of 2014 and 2019. The concentrations of OC and EC in the samples were determined by using a DRI Model 2001A thermo-optical carbon analyzer. The results showed that the average values of ρ(OC) and ρ(EC) in the heating period in 2014 were 60.92 µg·m-3 and 18.15 µg·m-3, and the average values of ρ(OC) and ρ(EC) in the heating period in 2019 were 36.63 µg·m-3 and 6.07 µg·m-3. Compared with those in 2014, the concentrations of OC and EC decreased by 39.87% and 66.56%, respectively, in 2019; the decrease in EC was larger than that in OC, and the meteorological conditions in 2019 were more severe than those in 2014, which was not conducive to the spread of pollutants. The correlation analysis and SOC estimation of OC and EC indicated that the correlation R2 of OC and EC in Baoding in 2014 and 2019 were 0.874 and 0.811, respectively, indicating that OC and EC in Baoding had relatively consistent sources. The average values of ρ(SOC) in 2014 and 2019 were 16.59 µg·m-3 and 11.31 µg·m-3, respectively, and the contribution rates to OC were 27.23% and 30.87%, respectively. This showed that in 2019, compared with that in 2014, the primary pollution decreased, but the secondary pollution increased, and the atmospheric oxidation increased. The analysis of the pollution sources of carbonaceous aerosols revealed that in 2014 and 2019 before and after the implementation of clean heating, the carbonaceous aerosols in the atmosphere were mainly from biomass combustion, coal combustion, and vehicle exhaust emissions. However, the contribution from biomass burning and coal burning decreased in 2019 compared to that in 2014. The decrease in OC and EC concentrations was attributed to the control of coal-fired and biomass-fired sources by clean heating. At the same time, the implementation of clean heating measures reduced the contribution of primary emissions to carbonaceous aerosols in PM2.5 in Baoding City.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: The aim of the study was to investigate the changes and significance of serum fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) in children with primary nephrotic syndrome (PNS) and chronic renal failure. METHODS: Pediatric patients with active PNS and normal renal function (the nephrotic syndrome group), pediatric patients with chronic renal failure (the renal failure group), and children who had healthy physical examinations (the control group) were included. The serum levels of FGF21, total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high-density lipoprotein (HDL-C), and low-density lipoprotein (LDL-C) were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and the serum albumin and 24 h urine protein were measured in the PNS group. RESULTS: Compared with the normal control group, the level of serum FGF21 in the PNS group and the renal failure group increased significantly (P < 0.05). The TC, TG, HDL-C, and LDL-C levels increased significantly in the PNS group (P < 0.05). The levels of TG and HDL-C increased significantly in the renal failure group (P < 0.05). The levels of TC, HDL-C, and LDL-C in the renal failure group were lower than those in the PNS group (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in TG level between the two groups (P > 0.05). CONCLUSION: The level of serum FGF21 may be correlated with the occurrence and development of nephrosis in children. The higher the level of serum FGF21, the more serious the renal injury.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Several studies have shown that N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) is strongly correlated with the complexity of coronary artery disease and the prognosis of patients with non-ST segment elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS), However, it remains unclear about the prognostic value of NT-proBNP in patients with NSTE-ACS and multivessel coronary artery disease (MCAD) undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Therefore, this study aimed to reveal the relationship between NT-proBNP levels and the prognosis for NSTE-ACS patients with MCAD undergoing successful PCI. METHODS: This study enrolled 1022 consecutive NSTE-ACS patients with MCAD from January 2010 to December 2014. The information of NT-proBNP levels was available from these patients. The primary outcome was in-hospital all-cause death. In addition, the 3-year follow-up all-cause death was also ascertained. RESULTS: A total of 12 (1.2%) deaths were reported during hospitalization. The 4th quartile group of NT-proBNP (> 1287 pg/ml) showed the highest in-hospital all-cause death rate (4.3%) (P < 0.001). Besides, logistic analyses revealed that the increasing NT-proBNP level was robustly associated with an increased risk of in-hospital all-cause death (adjusted odds ratio (OR): 2.86, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 1.16-7.03, P = 0.022). NT-proBNP was able to predict the in-hospital all-cause death (area under the curve (AUC) = 0.888, 95% CI = 0.834-0.941, P < 0.001; cutoff: 1568 pg/ml). Moreover, as revealed by cumulative event analyses, a higher NT-proBNP level was significantly related to a higher long-term all-cause death rate compared with a lower NT-proBNP level (P < 0.0001). CONCLUSIONS: The increasing NT-proBNP level is significantly associated with the increased risks of in-hospital and long-term all-cause deaths among NSTE-ACS patients with MCAD undergoing PCI. Typically, NT-proBN P > 1568 pg/ml is related to the all-cause and in-hospital deaths.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To explore the synergistic immunomodulatory mechanism of interferon alpha-1b, interleukin-2 and thalidomide (ITI) regimen on patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). METHODS: Sixty eight untreated de novo or relapsed or refractory or maintenance therapy patients with AML admitted in the Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Zhengzhou University and the other 11 medical units from March 2016 to May 2019 were treated with ITI regimen. Peripheral blood specimen per patient was collected into EDTA-K3 anticoagulation vacuum tube before the administration of ITI and 3 months after the treatment; peripheral blood lymphocyte subsets and perforin and Granzyme B expression were analyzed by using flow cytometry; the levels of VEGF, IFN-γ, TNF-α and IL-6 in the plasma were detected by using a cytometric bead array. Thirty-five healthy subjects from the hospital physical examination centre were selected as normal controls. RESULTS: The ratio of CD4+/CD8+ T cells, the percentage of NK cells, the expression of perforin and Granzyme B of NK cells in the peripheral blood of patients with hematological malignancies were lower than those of healthy controls. The level of VEGF, IL-6 and TNF-α in the peripheral plasma were higher than those of the healthy control group, and the difference was statistically significant. The level of IFN-γ was lower, and the difference was not statistically significant. The ratio of CD4+/CD8+ T cells, the percentage of NK cells, the expression of Granzyme B and Perforin of NK cells in peripheral blood were higher after the therapy of thalidomide combined with rhIFNα-1b for 3 months as compared with those before treatment of ITI, the level of the IFN-γ in peripheral plasma was higher while that of VEGF was lower, the difference was statistically significant; after treatment, the ratio of CD3+ CD4+ and CD3+ CD8+ lymphocytes and the level of TNF-α in peripheral blood were higher those that before treatment, IL-6 was lower, while the difference was not statistically significant. CONCLUSION: The ITI regimen can raise the ratio of CD4+/CD8+ T cells and the percentage of natural killer cells, also, can enhance the generation of perforin and granzyme B and the concentration of IFN-γ as well as inhibit the generation of VEGF, suggesting that these activities may enhance the antitumour capacity of patients with AML.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: In-hospital statin dosage-related effect remains unknown for patients with arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). This study aimed to determine the associations of different in-hospital intensive statins dosages with the prognosis for patients in the era of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). METHODS: From January 2010 to December 2014, consecutive ASCVD patients receiving PCI were enrolled from five centres in China. All the enrolled patients were classified into high-dose (40 mg atorvastatin or 20 mg rosuvastatin) or low-dose (20 mg atorvastatin or 10 mg rosuvastatin) intensive statin group. In-hospital all-cause death was the primary outcome. RESULTS: Of the 7008 patients included in this study, 5248 received low-dose intensive statins (mean age, 64.28 ± 10.39; female, 25.2%), whereas 1760 received high-dose intensive statins (mean age, 63.68 ± 10.59; female, 23.1%). There was no significant difference in the in-hospital all-cause death between the two groups (adjusted OR, 1.27; 95% CI, 0.43-3.72; P = 0.665). All-cause death was similar between the two groups during the 30-day follow-up period (adjusted HR, 1.28; 95% CI, 0.55-2.97; P = 0.571). However, the high-dose intensive statins were tightly associated with the reduction in in-hospital dialysis (adjusted OR, 0.11; 95% CI, 0.01-0.81; P = 0.030). Besides, primary analyses were confirmed by subgroup analyses. CONCLUSIONS: The in-hospital high-dose intensive statins are not associated with the lower risk of in-hospital or 30-day all-cause death among ASCVD patients undergoing PCI. Given the robust beneficial effect of high-dose intensive statins with in-hospital dialysis, an individualized high-dose intensive statin therapy can be rational in specified populations.

RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: The aim of the study was to investigate the effects of human semen on the proliferation, survival, migration and invasion of HeLa cervical cancer cells by analyzing the extracellular regulated protein kinase (ERK) pathway. MATERIAL AND METHODS: HeLa cells were stimulated with different concentrations of human semen. MTT assay was used to analyze the effects on cell proliferation. Apoptosis in the different experimental groups was quantified by Annexin V-FITC/PI staining. The effect of seminal plasma on in vitro invasiveness of cells was evaluated using transwell assay. Western blotting was used to evaluate ERK pathway activation. RESULTS: Human semen promoted HeLa cell proliferation; ERK1/2 phosphorylation and c-myc expression also increased with increasing semen concentration. U0126 inhibited semen-induced ERK1/2 phosphorylation, c-myc upregulation and cell proliferation. Compared with the control group, semen did not significantly affect the apoptotic rate of HeLa cells (p > 0.05). The transwell assays showed that compared with the control group, the number of invading cells increased significantly with increasing semen concentration, and the difference was significant (p < 0.05) when 1 : 50 semen was added, suggesting that semen promotes the invasion of cervical cancer cells. Western blotting indicated that ERK1/2 phosphorylation began to increase when 1 : 100 semen was added; with increasing semen concentration, ERK1/2 phosphorylation was significantly up-regulated, and the expression of its downstream target gene, c-myc, was also up-regulated (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Semen promoted the proliferation of HeLa cells by activating the ERK pathway and showed increased tumorigenic potential in vivo. Human seminal plasma might be a potential factor contributing to the development of cervical cancer.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Particulate matter 2.5 (PM2.5) refers to particulate matter with aerodynamic equivalent diameter less than or equal to 2.5 µm, which is an important component of air pollution. PM2.5 aggravates allergic rhinitis (AR) and promotes AR nasal mucosa inflammation. Therefore, the influence of PM2.5 inhalation exposure on microRNA (miRNA) expression profiles and function in the nasal mucosa of AR rats was investigated. METHODS: Female Sprague Dawley rats were distributed randomly to 2 groups: AR model PM2.5 exposure group (ARE group) and AR model PM2.5-unexposed control group (ARC group). The rats of ARE group were made to inhale PM2.5 at a concentration of 200 µg/m3, 3 h/day, for 30 days. miRNA expression profiles of the nasal mucosa from both groups were determined using an miRNA gene chip and were verified by quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR). Gene function enrichment analysis was performed using bioinformatics analysis. RESULTS: The ARE group revealed 20 significantly differentially expressed miRNAs, including 4 upregulated and 16 downregulated miRNAs (fold change > 1.5 or < 0.66, P < .05). Of these, 9 selected miRNAs were verified by qRT-PCR, and the results of 8 miRNAs were in accordance with the miRNA gene chip results, with highly positive correlation (r = .8583, P = .0031). Numerous target genes of differentially expressed miRNAs were functionally enriched in high-affinity immunoglobulin E receptor signaling, ErbB signaling, mucin O-glycans biosynthesis, transforming growth factor ß signaling, mitogen-activated protein kinase signal transduction, phosphatidylinositol signaling, mucopolysaccharide biosynthesis, mammalian target of rapamycin signaling, T cell receptor signaling, Wnt signaling, chemokine signal transduction, and natural killer cell-mediated cytotoxicity pathways. CONCLUSIONS: PM2.5 causes significant changes in miRNA expression in the nasal mucosa of AR rats. miRNA plays an important role in regulating PM2.5 effects in AR rat biological behavior and mucosal inflammation. This study provides a theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of AR from the effects of environmental pollution on the gene regulation mechanism.

RESUMO

Importance: The association of parenteral anticoagulation therapy with improved outcomes in patients with non-ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndrome was previously established. This benefit has not been evaluated in the era of dual antiplatelet therapy and percutaneous coronary intervention. Objective: To evaluate the association between parenteral anticoagulation therapy and clinical outcomes in patients with non-ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndrome undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention. Design, Setting, and Participants: This cohort study included 8197 adults who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention for non-ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndrome from January 1, 2010, to December 31, 2014, at 5 medical centers in China. Patients receiving parenteral anticoagulation therapy only after percutaneous coronary intervention were excluded. Exposures: Parenteral anticoagulation therapy. Main Outcomes and Measures: The primary outcome was in-hospital all-cause death and in-hospital major bleeding as defined by the Bleeding Academic Research Consortium definition (grades 3-5). Results: Of 6804 patients who met the final criteria, 5104 (75.0%) were male, with a mean (SD) age of 64.2 (10.4) years. The incidence of in-hospital death was not significantly different between the patients who received and did not receive parenteral anticoagulation therapy (0.3% vs 0.1%; P = .13) (adjusted odds ratio, 1.27; 95% CI, 0.38-4.27; P = .70). A similar result was found for myocardial infarction (0.3% vs 0.3%; P = .82) (adjusted odds ratio, 0.77; 95% CI, 0.29-2.07; P = .61). In-hospital major bleeding was more frequent in the parenteral anticoagulation group (2.5% vs 1.0%; P < .001) (adjusted odds ratio, 1.94; 95% CI, 1.24-3.03; P = .004). At a median (interquartile range) follow-up of 2.96 years (1.93-4.46 years), all-cause death was not significantly different between the 2 groups (adjusted hazards ratio, 0.87; 95% CI, 0.71-1.07; P = .19), but the incidence of major bleeding was higher in the parenteral anticoagulation group (adjusted hazards ratio, 1.43; 95% CI, 1.01-2.02; P = .04). The propensity score analysis confirmed these primary analyses. Conclusions and Relevance: In the patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention for non-ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndrome, parenteral anticoagulation therapy was not associated with a lower risk of all-cause death or myocardial infarction but was significantly associated with a higher risk of major bleeding. These findings raise important safety questions about the current practice of routine parenteral anticoagulation therapy while we await randomized trials of this practice.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Exposure to fine particulate matter (particulate matter ≤2.5 µm [PM2.5]) increases the risk of allergic rhinitis (AR), but the underlying mechanisms remains unclear. Thus, we investigated the roles of T-helper (Th)1-Th2 cytokines and nasal remodeling after ambient PM2.5 exposure in a rat model of AR. METHODS: Female Sprague-Dawley rats were randomized into six groups: a negative control group, a group of healthy rats exposed to 3000 µg/m3 PM2.5, an ovalbumin (OVA) induced AR model, and three PM2.5-exacerbated AR groups exposed to three different concentrations (200, 1000, and 3000 µg/m3) of PM2.5 for 30 days via inhalation. Nasal symptoms, levels of Th1-Th2 cytokines, the degree of eosinophilia in nasal lavage fluid (NLF), and the messenger RNA (mRNA) expressions of transcription factors GATA-3 and T-bet in the nasal mucosa were measured in each individual rat. Hyperplasia of globet cells and collagen deposition were examined by histology. RESULTS: PM2.5 significantly increased the number of sneezes and nasal rubs in rats with AR. PM2.5 also significantly decreased interferon gamma and increased interleukin (IL) 4 and IL-13 expressions as well as the number of eosinophils in NLF. The mRNA expression of GATA-3 in the nasal mucosa of rats with AR was upregulated by PM2.5, whereas T-bet was significantly downregulated. Statistically significant differences in OVA-specific serum immunoglobulin E, goblet cell hyperplasia, collagen deposition, and transforming growth factor beta 1 levels were observed between the PM2.5-exacerbated AR groups and the AR model group. CONCLUSION: Analysis of our data indicated that an increase in the immune response with Th2 polarization and the development of nasal remodeling may be the immunotoxic mechanisms behind the exacerbation of AR after exposure to PM2.5.

RESUMO

A growing number of molecular epidemiological studies have been conducted to evaluate the association between human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and the malignancy of sinonasal inverted papilloma (SNIP). However, the results remain inconclusive. Here, a meta-analysis was conducted to quantitatively assess this association. Case-control studies investigating SNIP tissues for presence of HPV DNA were identified. The odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated by the Mantel-Haenszel method. An assessment of publication bias and sensitivity analysis were also performed. We calculated a pooled OR of 2.16 (95% CI=1.46-3.21, P<0.001) without statistically significant heterogeneity or publication bias. Stratification by HPV type showed a stronger association for patients with high-risk HPV (hrHPV) types, HPV-16, HPV-18, and HPV-16/18 infection (OR=8.8 [95% CI: 4.73-16.38], 8.04 [95% CI: 3.34-19.39], 18.57 [95% CI: 4.56-75.70], and 26.24 [4.35-158.47], respectively). When only using PCR studies, pooled ORs for patients with hrHPV, HPV-16, and HPV18 infection still reached statistical significance. However, Egger's test reflected significant publication bias in the HPV-16 sub-analysis (P=0.06), and the adjusted OR was no longer statistically significant (OR=1.65, 95%CI: 0.58-4.63). These results suggest that HPV infection, especially hrHPV (HPV-18), is significantly associated with malignant SNIP.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To Evaluate the incidence rates and extents of deglutition disorder in patients with laryngeal carcinoma after different types of supracricoid partial laryngectomy. METHODS: Retrospective analysis of postoperative deglutition disorder in patients with laryngeal carcinoma after different types of supracricoid partial laryngectomy treated in our department from 2005 to 2009. The extents of postoperative deglutition disorder were evaluated using a homemade quantitative score table at 5-20 days postoperation. RESULTS: The score of deglutition disorder was 2.71 ± 0.31 in the supracricoid partial laryngectomy-cricohyoidoepiglottopexy (SCPL-CHEP) operation group and 3.43 ± 0.64 in the supracricoid partial laryngectomy-cricohyoidopexy (SCPL-CHP) group, respectively. The deference was statistically significant between the two groups (P < 0.001). The coefficient between age and score of postoperative deglutition disorder was assessed by Pearson correlation analysis. The coefficient of correlation was 0.947 (P < 0.0001) in the SCPL-CHEP group and 0.907 (P < 0.0001) in the SCPL-CHP group. The incidence rate of deglutition disorder was 1/37 in the SCPL-CHEP group and 7/30 in the SCPL-CHP group, evaluated at 8 weeks postoperation (P = 0.012). The deference between the two groups was significant. CONCLUSIONS: The type of operation procedure is an important factor affecting the occurrence of postoperative deglutition disorder in the patients after supracricoid partial laryngectomy, more serious in the SCPL-CHP group. The severity of postoperative deglutition disorder is more serious along with the increase of patient's age. For the elderly (> 70 years of age) patients with laryngeal carcinoma, the choice of surgical procedure should be more cautious, especially with the SCPL-CHP operation.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To compare the results of extended vertical partial laryngectomy (similar to modified supracricoid partial laryngectomy with cricohyoidoepiglottopexy) and cricohyoidoepiglottopexy in the treatment of laryngeal carcinoma. METHODS: Retrospectively analyzed on the results and prognosis in patients underwent extended vertical partial laryngectomy and cricohyoidoepiglottopexy between 1998 and 2005. The operation was similar to extended vertical partial laryngectomy. The healthy vocal cord and ventricular band as well as about 1/3 to 2/3 laminas of thyroid cartilage were removed. The healthy cricoarytenoid joint was reserved. The vocal cord, ventricular band, fixed or limitation of motion arytenoid cartilage and 2/3 laminas of thyroid cartilage in ill side were removed. The posteroinferior border of laminas of thyroid cartilage in both sides were reserved. The cricoid was lifted and fixed with hyoid epiglottis directly. Extended vertical partial laryngectomy group consisted of 37 patients with glottic carcinoma (stage T2 16 cases, stage T3 21 cases) and cricohyoidoepiglottopexy group consisted of 34 patients with glottic carcinoma (stage T2 12 cases, stage T3 21 cases, stage T4 1 case). RESULTS: Kaplan-Meier analysis was performed to calculate the survival rates. The three-year cumulative survival rate was 91.7% in extended vertical partial laryngectomy group and 87.5% in cricohyoidoepiglottopexy group respectively. There was no significant difference between the two groups (P > 0.05). The five-year cumulative survival rate was 80.6% in extended vertical partial laryngectomy group and 81.3% in cricohyoidoepiglottopexy group respectively. There was also no significant difference between the two groups (P > 0.05). The decannulation rate was 100% (37/37) in extended vertical partial laryngectomy group and 94.1% (32/34) in cricohyoidoepiglottopexy group respectively. The decannulation time was (14.0 + or - 2.3) days in extended vertical partial laryngectomy group and (19.0 + or - 4.6) days in cricohyoidoepiglottopexy group respectively. The incidence of aspiration was 2.7% (1/37) in modified group and 23.5 (8/34) in cricohyoidoepiglottopexy group respectively evaluated at 8th weeks post-operatively. The evaluation of deglutition disorder was analyzed by Ridit analysis in both groups and the results showed that there was significant difference between the two groups (U = 7.341, P < 0.001). The symptom of aspiration in extended vertical partial laryngectomy group was significant less than in cricohyoidoepiglottopexy group. CONCLUSIONS: Although the survival rate was not different between the two groups. The preservation of laryngeal function in extended vertical partial laryngectomy group was significant better than in cricohyoidoepiglottopexy group and extended vertical partial laryngectomy.

RESUMO

By using 3-year field experimental results and related meteorological observation data, the dynamic characteristics of leaf area index (LAI) and the allocation characters of ecological resources for different yielding spring maize (Zea Mays L.) population in Huadian of Jilin Province were studied. The results showed that the dynamic characteristics of relative LAI, with the relative growth days of test population, relative effective accumulated temperature, relative sunshine hours and relative rainfall as independent variables, fitted rational formula y = (a + bx) /(1 + cx + dx2), and the regression equation of maize yield with the ratios of growth days before and after silking (x1), effective accumulated temperature before and after silking (x2), rainfall before and after silking (x3), and sunshine hours before and after silking (x4) was y = 5465.19 + 17810.64x(1) - 23236.14x(2) + 4093.41x(3) + 6287.37x(4) (R2 = 0. 8187, P < 0.01), with the effects of these ecological factors on yield being in the sequence of x1 > x2 > x3 > x4 according to the absolute values of partial regression coefficients. In super high yielding (15499.86 kg x hm(-2)) spring maize population, the allocation ratios of x1, x2, x3, and x4 were 1.43, 1.41, 1.44, and 1.40, respectively. Therefore, in Northeast China, appropriate early sowing of spring maize to prolong its growth days with more rainfall and sunshine hours before silking could attain high yielding, and high or super high yield could be achieved when the allocation ratios of x1, x2, x3, and x4 were all about 1.4.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the specific genetic alterations in nasal NK/T cell lymphoma (N-NK/T-L) and the significance thereof. METHODS: Restriction landmark genomic scanning (RLGS) was performed on the specimen of a case of N-NK/T-L and the peripheral blood leukocytes of the same case. The RLGS image was analyzed with the Virtual genome scan (VGS) software so as to discover abnormality of T-bet gene. The discovered abnormal gene underwent cloning and preparation of probes. Southern blotting and dot blotting were performed on 3 cases of fresh N-NK/T-L tumor tissues and the genome of the case of peripheral blood lymphocytes. The expression of the T-bet (T-box expressed in T cell) gene in the tissue sections of 20 cases of N-NK/T-L, 17 cases of B cell lymphoma (BCL), 3 cases of normal spleen, and 5 cases of chronic nasopharyngitis was detected by in situ hybridization. RESULTS: RLGS combined with VGS revealed a genomic alteration in the T-bet gene and consequent Southern and dot blotting confirmed this genomic alteration in the N-NK/T-L cells. In situ hybridization showed that the T-bet mRNA expression rate of the N-NK/T-L cells was 90.0% (18/20), significantly higher than that of the BCL (11.8%, 2/17, P < 0.01). T-bet mRNA expression was not detected in the normal spleen and chronic nasopharyngitis tissues. CONCLUSION: The amplification and over-expression of the T-bet gene may play a role in the development of N-NK/T-L. The potential value of over-expression of T-bet gene in diagnosis of N-NK/T-L is worth further investigating.
