Objective: Robotic thoracic surgery provides another minimally invasive approach in addition to video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) that yields less pain and faster recovery compared with open surgery. However, robotic incisions are generally placed more inferiorly, which may increase the risk of intercostal nerve injury that affects the abdominal wall. We hypothesized that a robotic approach causes greater ipsilateral rectus muscle atrophy compared with open and VATS approaches. Methods: The cross-sectional area and density of bilateral rectus abdominis muscles were measured on computed tomography scans in patients who underwent lobectomy in 2018. The differences between the contralateral and ipsilateral muscles were compared between preoperative and 6-month surveillance scans. Changes were compared among the open, VATS, and robotic approaches through a mixed effects model after adjustments of correlation and covariates. Results: Of 99 lobectomies, 25 (25.3%) were open, 56 (56.6%) VATS, and 18 (18.1%) robotic. The difference between the contralateral and ipsilateral rectus muscle cross-sectional area was significantly larger at 6 months after robotic surgery compared with open (31.4% vs 9.5%, P = .049) and VATS (31.4% vs 14.1%, P = .021). There were no significant differences in the cross-sectional area between the open and VATS approach. Conclusions: In this retrospective analysis, there was greater ipsilateral rectus muscle atrophy associated with robotic thoracic surgery compared with open or VATS approaches. These findings should be correlated with clinical symptoms and followed to assess for resolution or persistence.

BACKGROUND: The characteristics of early-onset lung adenocarcinoma (EOLA) have not been extensively studied. Our research aimed to comprehensively assess the clinical and genetic features of EOLA. METHODS: We conducted a retrospective analysis of surgical resected lung adenocarcinoma patients, categorizing them into the EOLA group (aged<40 years) and the late-onset lung adenocarcinoma (LOLA) group(aged >60 years). A comparative investigation of clinical, germline, and genomic features was conducted. Propensity score matching was employed to balance baseline characteristics for gene mutation analysis. RESULTS: 487 EOLA and 2507 LOLA patients were enrolled. EOLA patients exhibited a higher female-to-male ratio (2.55 vs. 1.19) , and a higher proportion of family history of lung cancer in ground-grass opacity subgroup (12.7% vs. 8.9%). The EOLA group exhibited higher rates of earlier stage in both ground-grass opacity subgroup and solid subgroup. Pre-invasive adenocarcinoma was the dominant histologic subtype in the EOLA group within the ground-glass opacity subgroup (73.8% vs. 25.6%). After propensity score matching, we analyzed 241 stage 0/I patients with available genetic test results. Significant disparities in gene mutation rates emerged between the EOLA and LOLA patients, including ERBB2 (38.0% vs. 2.8%), EGFR (36.0% vs. 64.5%), MET (0.0% vs. 7.1%), NF1 (0.0% vs. 5.7%), ALK fusion (10.0% vs. 1.4%). CONCLUSIONS: EOLA patients exhibited distinct clinical and genetic characteristics in comparison to LOLA patients.

New energy vehicles (NEVs) are considered a crucial means of reducing travel costs, enhancing consumer experiences, and innovating services. This paper aims to categorize the functional experiences of NEVs into two types: intelligent experience and eco-friendly experience, using a dual-path model. By analyzing 118,648 text data from automotive information and service platforms, the relevant factors influencing consumer satisfaction are explored. The research findings reveal that intelligent experience has a significantly positive impact on consumer satisfaction, whereas eco-friendly experience has a significantly negative impact on consumer satisfaction. This suggests that new energy vehicle companies need technological innovation in infrastructure and range to enhance consumer satisfaction. Furthermore, the research confirms that, when facing the intelligent experience of new energy vehicles, consumers' "rational" thinking plays a dominant role, and efficacy is an intermediate variable to enhance consumer satisfaction. On the other hand, when facing the eco-friendly experience of new energy vehicles, consumers' "emotional" thinking predominates, and identity is an intermediate variable to enhance consumer satisfaction. Additionally, the moderating effect of perceived usability is examined. When faced with the intelligent experience of NEVs, consumers with high perceived usability are more likely to generate a sense of efficiency. In the case of the eco-friendly experience of NEVs, consumers with low perceived usability are more likely to experience a sense of identity.

BACKGROUND: The formation of stem cell clones enables close contact of stem cells inside. The gap junctions in such clone spheres establish a microenvironment that allows frequent intercellular communication to maintain self-renewal and functions of stem cells. Nevertheless, the essential gap junction protein for molecular signaling in clones is poorly known. METHODS: Primary human airway basal cells (hBCs) were isolated from brushing samples through bronchoscopy and then cultured. A tightly focused femtosecond laser was used to excite the local Ca2+ in an individual cell to initiate an internal Ca2+ wave in a clone to screen gap junction proteins. Immunoflourescence staining and clonogenicity assay were used to evaluate self-renewal and functions. RNA and protein levels were assessed by PCR and Western blot. Air-liquid interface assay was conducted to evaluate the differentiation potential. A Naphthalene injury mouse model was used to assess the regeneration potential. RESULTS: Herein, we identify Connexin 25 (Cx25) dominates intercellular Ca2+ communications in clones of hBCs in vitro to maintain the self-renewal and pluripotency of them. The self-renewal and in vitro differentiation functions and in vivo regeneration potential of hBCs in an airway damage model are both regulated by Cx25. The abnormal expression of Cx25 is validated in several diseases including IPF, Covid-19 and bronchiectasis. CONCLUSION: Cx25 is essential for hBC clones in maintaining self-renewal and functions of hBCs via gap junctions.

Sexual dysfunction, particularly in females, is a complex issue influenced by various factors, including depression and inflammation. The Systemic immune-inflammation index (SII), an inflammatory biomarker, has shown associations with different health conditions, but its relationship with female sexual dysfunction (FSD) remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the association between SII and FSD in the context of depression, utilizing low sexual frequency as an assessment indicator. Data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2005 to 2016, involving 1042 depressed female participants, were analyzed. FSD, indicated by low sexual frequency, and SII, derived from complete blood count results, were assessed. Logistic regression and subgroup analyses were conducted, considering demographic and health-related factors. A total of 1042 individuals were included in our analysis; 11.5163% of participants were categorized as having FSD, which decreased with the higher SII tertiles (tertile 1, 13.8329%; tertile 2, 13.5447%; tertile 3, 7.1839%; p for trend < 0.0001). Multivariate linear regression analysis showed a significant negative association between SII and FSD [0.9993 (0.9987, 0.9999)]. This negative association in a subgroup analysis is distinctly and significantly present in the Mexican American subgroup [0.9959 (0.9923, 0.9996)], while it does not reach statistical significance in other racial categories. Furthermore, the association between SII and FSD was nonlinear; using a 2-segment linear regression model, we found a U-shaped relationship between SII and FSD with an inflection point of 2100 (1000 cells/µL). In summary, in depressed individuals, a higher SII is independently associated with a decreased likelihood of FSD, emphasizing the potential role of inflammation in female sexual health.

Background: Popular gene set enrichment analysis approaches assumed that genes in the gene set contributed to the statistics equally. However, the genes in the transcription factors (TFs) derived gene sets, or gene sets constructed by TF targets identified by the ChIP-Seq experiment, have a rank attribute, as each of these genes have been assigned with a p-value which indicates the true or false possibilities of the ownerships of the genes belong to the gene sets. Objectives: Ignoring the rank information during the enrichment analysis will lead to improper statistical inference. We address this issue by developing of new method to test the significance of ranked gene sets in genome-wide transcriptome profiling data. Methods: A method was proposed by first creating ranked gene sets and gene lists and then applying weighted Kendall's tau rank correlation statistics to the test. After introducing top-down weights to the genes in the gene set, a new software called "Flaver" was developed. Results: Theoretical properties of the proposed method were established, and its differences over the GSEA approach were demonstrated when analyzing the transcriptome profiling data across 55 human tissues and 176 human cell-lines. The results indicated that the TFs identified by our method have higher tendency to be differentially expressed across the tissues analyzed than its competitors. It significantly outperforms the well-known gene set enrichment analyzing tools, GOStats (9%) and GSEA (17%), in analyzing well-documented human RNA transcriptome datasets. Conclusions: The method is outstanding in detecting gene sets of which the gene ranks were correlated with the expression levels of the genes in the transcriptome data.

Reduction in muscle contractile force associated with many clinical conditions incurs serious morbidity and increased mortality. Here, we report the first evidence that JAK inhibition impacts contractile force in normal human muscle. Muscle biopsies were taken from patients who were randomized to receive tofacitinib (n = 16) or placebo (n = 17) for 48 h. Single-fiber contractile force and molecular studies were carried out. The contractile force of individual diaphragm myofibers pooled from the tofacitinib group (n = 248 fibers) was significantly higher than those from the placebo group (n = 238 fibers), with a 15.7% greater mean maximum specific force (P = 0.0016). Tofacitinib treatment similarly increased fiber force in the serratus anterior muscle. The increased force was associated with reduced muscle protein oxidation and FoxO-ubiquitination-proteasome signaling, and increased levels of smooth muscle MYLK. Inhibition of MYLK attenuated the tofacitinib-dependent increase in fiber force. These data demonstrate that tofacitinib increases the contractile force of skeletal muscle and offers several underlying mechanisms. Inhibition of the JAK-STAT pathway is thus a potential new therapy for the muscle dysfunction that occurs in many clinical conditions.

Objective: and design: Considering the clinical link between non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and atherosclerosis (AS), we performed bioinformatics analysis to uncover their pathogenic interrelationship. Methods and results: Data from the U.S. National Health and Nutritional Examination Survey (NHANES) 1999-2018 were included. Among 4851 participants in NHANES, NAFLD was significantly associated with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease risk (ASCVD risk) (OR = 2.32, 95%CI: 2.04-2.65, P < 0.0001). We conducted WGCNA analysis for NAFLD (GSE130970) and AS (GSE28829) and identified three modules positively related to NAFLD severity and two modules accelerating atherosclerosis plaque progression. 198 key-modules genes were obtained via overlapping these modules. Next, we mined the disease-controlled differentially expressed genes (DEGs) from NAFLD (GSE89632) and AS (GSE100927), respectively. The final common risk genes (ACP5, TP53I3, RPS6KA1, TYMS, TREM2, CA12, and IFI27) were defined by intersecting the upregulated DEGs with 198 genes and validated in new datasets (GSE48452 and GSE43292). Importantly, they showed good diagnostic ability for NAFLD and AS. Immune infiltration analysis showed both illnesses have dysregulated immunity. Analysis of single-cell sequencing datasets NAFLD (GSE179886) and AS (GSE159677) uncovered different abnormal expressions of seven common genes in different immune cells while highlighting metabolic disturbances including upregulation of fatty acid biosynthesis, downregulation of fatty acid degradation and elongation. Conclusion: We found 7 shared hub genes with good diagnostic ability and depicted the landscapes of immune and metabolism involved in NAFLD and AS. Our results provided a comprehensive association between them and may contribute to developing potential intervention strategies for targeting both disorders based on these risk factors.

Detection of printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) defects is crucial for improving the efficiency of PCBA manufacturing. This paper proposes PCBA-YOLO, a YOLOv5-based method that can effectively increase the accuracy of PCBA defect detection. First, the spatial pyramid pooling module with cross-stage partial structure is replaced in the neck network of YOLOv5 to capture the resolution features at multiple scales. Second, large kernel convolution is introduced in the backbone network to obtain larger effective receptive fields while reducing computational overhead. Finally, an SIoU loss function that considers the angular cost is utilized to enhance the convergence speed of the model. In addition, an assembled PCBA defect detection dataset named PCBA-DET is created in this paper, containing the corresponding defect categories and annotations of defect locations. The experimental results on the PCB defect dataset demonstrate that the improved method has lower loss values and higher accuracy. Evaluated on the PCBA-DET dataset, the mean average precision reaches 97.3 % , achieving a real-time detection performance of 322.6 frames per second, which considers both the detection accuracy and the model size compared to the YOLO series of detection networks. This study evaluated the impact of local treatment modalities in the management of large non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) tumors using a nationwide population-based dataset. Patients with NSCLC tumors >7 cm that were cN0-1M0 in the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) registry from 2010 to 2015 were stratified by local management strategy (surgery, radiation therapy, no local treatment) and evaluated using Kaplan-Meier survival analyses, Cox proportional-hazard methods, and propensity-matched analysis. A total of 3156 patients were identified, of which 1580 (50.1%) underwent surgical resection, 920 (29.2%) received radiation only, 655 (20.7%) received no local treatment. Overall, the 5-year survival of patients undergoing surgical resection was 40.7%, compared to 14.7% and 5.3% for the radiation only and no local treatment groups, respectively (P < .001). Surgery with or without radiation continued to have an independent association with improved survival in multivariable analysis (HR 0.23, P < .0001). Other factors associated with improved survival included younger age, negative nodal disease, and chemotherapy use. In propensity-matched sub-analyses, 5-year survival remained significantly better after surgery alone compared to radiation alone (38.5% vs. 13.6%, P < .001), while survival after radiation alone was better than no local treatment, though both were largely poor (12.4% vs. 7.5%, P < .001). Survival of patients with large NSCLC managed non-surgically is very poor. Despite the significant long-term survival benefit with surgical intervention, nearly half of the study cohort did not undergo surgery. Patients and clinicians can use these results to estimate specific potential benefits when considering possible treatment strategies for large NSCLC tumors.

IL-26 is a crucial inflammatory cytokine that participates in defending host cells against infections. We initially cloned and identified the cDNA sequences of interleukin (IL)-26 in channel catfish (Ictalurus punctatus). The open reading frame (ORF) of IpIL-26 was 537 bp in length, encoding 178 amino acids (aa). Constitutive expression of IpIL-26 was observed in tested tissues, with the highest level found in the gill and spleen. To explore the function of IpIL-26 in channel catfish, different stimuli were used to act on both channel catfish and channel catfish kidney cells (CCK). The expression of IpIL-26 could be up-regulated by bacteria and viruses in multiple tissues. In vitro, recombinant IpIL-26 (rIpIL-26) could induce the expression levels of inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-1ß, IL-6, IL-20, and IL-22 playing vital roles in defending the host against infections. Our results demonstrated that IpIL-26 might be an essential cytokine, significantly affecting the immune defense of channel catfish against pathogen infections.

BACKGROUND: The triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index and estimated glucose disposal rate (eGDR), which are calculated using different parameters, are widely used as markers of insulin resistance and are associated with cardiovascular diseases and prognosis. However, whether they have an additive effect on the risk of mortality remains unclear. This study aimed to explore whether the combined assessment of the TyG index and eGDR improved the prediction of long-term mortality in individuals with and without diabetes. METHODS: In this cross-sectional and cohort study, data were derived from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2001-2018, and death record information was obtained from the National Death Index. The associations of the TyG index and eGDR with all-cause and cardiovascular mortality were determined by multivariate Cox regression analysis and restricted cubic splines. RESULTS: Among the 17,787 individuals included in the analysis, there were 1946 (10.9%) all-cause deaths and 649 (3.6%) cardiovascular deaths during a median follow-up of 8.92 years. In individuals with diabetes, the restricted cubic spline curves for the associations of the TyG index and eGDR with mortality followed a J-shape and an L-shape, respectively. The risk of mortality significantly increased after the TyG index was > 9.04 (all-cause mortality) or > 9.30 (cardiovascular mortality), and after eGDR was < 4 mg/kg/min (both all-cause and cardiovascular mortality). In individuals without diabetes, the association between eGDR and mortality followed a negative linear relationship. However, there was no association between the TyG index and mortality. Compared with individuals in the low TyG and high eGDR group, those in the high TyG and low eGDR group (TyG > 9.04 and eGDR < 4) showed the highest risk for all-cause mortality (hazard ratio [HR] = 1.592, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.284-1.975) and cardiovascular mortality (HR = 1.683, 95% CI 1.179-2.400) in the overall population. Similar results were observed in individuals with and without diabetes. CONCLUSIONS: There was a potential additive effect of the TyG index and eGDR on the risk of long-term mortality in individuals with and without diabetes, which provided additional information for prognostic prediction and contributed to improving risk stratification.

Dendritic spines function as postsynaptic sites, receiving excitatory signals from presynaptic axons. The synaptic plasticity of spines underlies the refinement of neuronal circuits. Neural cognitive disorders are commonly associated with the impairment and elimination of dendritic spines. In this study, we report an all-optical method to activate dendritic spine growth and regeneration by a single short flash of femtosecond laser stimulation. The inhibited development and loss of spines can be rescued by a transient illumination of the laser inside a micrometer region of the soma by activating the extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) signaling pathway. The rescued neurons exhibit function. Hence we provide a potential noninvasive method for the regeneration of dendritic spines.

Objectives: The cognitive expertise of experts has been an intriguing theme; there has been rapid growth in cognitive research related to esports. Given the close association between esports activities and cognition, esports holds promise in offering new perspectives for understanding cognitive expertise. This meta-analysis aims at quantitatively delineating the cognitive disparities between esports experts and amateurs. Methods: The expert group comprised professional video game players and high-ranking players (top 1%), while amateurs were assigned to the control group. Research studies published between January 2000 and December 2023 were systematically searched in databases. A three-level model with cluster-robust variance estimation was used to calculate the overall effect size. The moderating variables included professional level, cognitive abilities, dependent variable type, game genre, gender and age. Results: A total of 15 studies containing 142 effect sizes and 1085 participants were included in this meta-analysis. The results indicated that, compared to amateurs, video game experts demonstrated superior cognitive abilities with a small effect size (Hedges' g = 0.373, 95% CI [0.055-0.691], p = .012). The differences between experts and amateur players mainly manifest in spatial cognition and attention. Sensitivity analysis, risk of bias, and publication bias results indicated the reliability of these findings. Conclusions: This meta-analysis confirms that esports experts possess superior cognitive abilities compared to amateurs, particularly in aspects of spatial cognition and attention. These can provide an effective reference for future selection and training in esports.

The ability to assess sleep at home, capture sleep stages, and detect the occurrence of apnea (without on-body sensors) simply by analyzing the radio waves bouncing off people's bodies while they sleep is quite powerful. Such a capability would allow for longitudinal data collection in patients' homes, informing our understanding of sleep and its interaction with various diseases and their therapeutic responses, both in clinical trials and routine care. In this article, we develop an advanced machine learning algorithm for passively monitoring sleep and nocturnal breathing from radio waves reflected off people while asleep. Validation results in comparison with the gold standard (i.e., polysomnography) (n=880) demonstrate that the model captures the sleep hypnogram (with an accuracy of 80.5% for 30-second epochs categorized into Wake, Light Sleep, Deep Sleep, or REM), detects sleep apnea (AUROC = 0.89), and measures the patient's Apnea-Hypopnea Index (ICC=0.90; 95% CI = [0.88, 0.91]). Notably, the model exhibits equitable performance across race, sex, and age. Moreover, the model uncovers informative interactions between sleep stages and a range of diseases including neurological, psychiatric, cardiovascular, and immunological disorders. These findings not only hold promise for clinical practice and interventional trials but also underscore the significance of sleep as a fundamental component in understanding and managing various diseases.

Nonsense-mediated decay (NMD) and autophagy play pivotal roles in restricting virus infection in plants. However, the interconnection between these two pathways in viral infections has not been explored. Here, it is shown that overexpression of NbSMG7 and NbUPF3 attenuates cucumber green mottle mosaic virus (CGMMV) infection by recognizing the viral internal termination codon and vice versa. NbSMG7 is subjected to autophagic degradation, which is executed by its interaction with one of the autophagy-related proteins, NbATG8i. Mutation of the ATG8 interacting motif (AIM) in NbSMG7 (SMG7mAIM1) abolishes the interaction and comprises its autophagic degradation. Silencing of NbSMG7 and NbATG8i, or NbUPF3 and NbATG8i, compared to silencing each gene individually, leads to more virus accumulations, but overexpression of NbSMG7 and NbATG8i fails to achieve more potent virus inhibition. When CGMMV is co-inoculated with NbSMG7mAIM1 or with NbUPF3, compared to co-inoculating with NbSMG7 in NbATG8i transgene plants, the inoculated plants exhibit milder viral phenotypes. These findings reveal that NMD-mediated virus inhibition is impaired by the autophagic degradation of SMG7 in a negative feedback loop, and a novel regulatory interplay between NMD and autophagy is uncovered, providing insights that are valuable in optimizing strategies to harness NMD and autophagy for combating viral infections.

Chrysanthemum indicum Linnén (C. indicum), a medicinal and food herb with various bioactive components, may be of beneficial use in cosmetics and the treatment of skin-related diseases. However, to date, few studies have been reported on its potential preventive and therapeutic effects on skin cancer. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the effect and potential mechanism of action of supercritical carbon dioxide extract from C. indicum (CISCFE) on UV-induced skin cancer in a mouse model. Kunming mice were allocated randomly to five treatment groups: Sham, model, low concentration CISCFE, high concentration CISCFE and positive control nicotinamide groups. The dorsal skin of mice was irradiated with UV light for 31 weeks. Histopathological changes, ELISA assays, immunohistochemical analysis and western blotting were performed to investigate the potential therapeutic effects of CISCFE. The results showed that CISCFE alleviated skin oxidative and inflammatory damage in a UV-induced mouse model of skin cancer. Moreover, CISCFE suppressed abnormal activation of proto-oncogene c-Myc and the overexpression of Ki-67 and VEGF, and increased expression of the anti-oncogene PTEN, thereby reducing abnormal proliferation of the epidermis and blood vessels. Additionally, CISCFE increased the protein expression levels of NAD-dependent protein deacetylase sirtuin-1 (SIRT1), Kelch-like ECH associated protein 1 (Keap1) and inhibited the expression of nuclear factor 2 erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2), phosphorylated (p)-p62 (Ser 349), p-p65 and acetyl-p65 proteins in a UV-induced skin cancer mouse model. In summary, CISCFE exhibited potent anti-skin cancer activity, which may be attributed its potential effects on the p62/Keap1-Nrf2 and SIRT1/NF-κB pathways.

BACKGROUND: There are a growing number of studies on the effect of acupuncture on glial cells in the central nervous system; however, there are few related bibliometric analyses in this area. Therefore, the purpose of this bibliometric study was to visualize the literature on acupuncture-regulated glial cells. METHODS: On November 23, 2022, regular and review articles on acupuncture and glial cell-related research were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection database. The R package "bibliometrix" was used to summarize the main findings, count the occurrences of the top keywords, visualize the international collaboration network, and generate a 3-field plot. The VOSviewer software was used to conduct both co-authorship and co-occurrence analyses. CiteSpace was used to identify the best references and keywords with the highest citation rates. RESULTS: Overall, 348 publications on acupuncture and glial cells were included. The publications were primarily from China, Korea, and the United States of America. The majority of publications were found in relevant journals. Apart from "acupuncture" and "glial cells," the most frequently used keywords were "neuroinflammation," "hyperalgesia," and "pain." CONCLUSION: This bibliometric study mapped a fundamental knowledge structure comprising countries, institutions, authors, journals, and articles in the research fields of acupuncture and glial cells over the last 3 decades. These results provide a comprehensive perspective on the wider landscape of this research area.

To facilitate the sensor fabrication and sensing operation in microstructured optical fiber-based surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensors for high refractive index (RI) detection, we propose a special hollow fiber-based SPR sensor that comprises an opening on its body side and a thin gold layer coated on its outer surface. The analyte is able to flow into the hollow core through the side-opening to form new fiber core, with the Gaussian-like mode propagating in it. We investigate the sensing performance of the proposed sensor in a higher RI range of 1.48 to 1.54 at two feasible schemes: one is to only fill the fiber core with analyte (Scheme A), and the other is to directly immerse the sensor in the analyte (Scheme B). The results demonstrate that our sensor exhibits higher wavelength sensitivity at Scheme A with a maximum wavelength sensitivity of 12,320 nm/RIU, while a greater amplitude sensitivity was found at Scheme B with a maximum amplitude sensitivity of 1146 RIU-1. Our proposed sensor features the advantages of simple fabrication, flexible operation, easy analyte filling and replacing, enhanced real-time detection capabilities, high RI detection, and very high wavelength sensitivity and amplitude sensitivity, which makes it more competitive in SPR sensing applications.

Carboxymethyl Salix psammophila wood powder-imprinted membranes (CMSM-MIPs) were prepared by using wet spinning technology and molecular-imprinting technology for the selective removal of tetracycline from wastewater. Scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetry, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy characterizations demonstrate that CMSM-MIPs retain the membranous structure of Carboxymethyl Salix psammophila wood powder membranes, successfully encapsulate thin layers of imprinted polymers on the membrane surface, and exhibit excellent thermal stability. The adsorption results showed that CMSM-MIPs had the highest selective adsorption capacity for tetracycline, which was 253.8 mg/g. In addition, the adsorption capacities for oxytetracycline and chlortetracycline were 208.8 and 188 mg/g, respectively. It can be observed that CMSM-MIPs not only exhibit a high adsorption capacity for tetracycline but also demonstrate good adsorption capacities for oxytetracycline and chlortetracycline. The experimental results showed that CMSM-MIPs were best fitted with pseudo-second-order kinetics and most consistent with Freundlich fitting. The regeneration experiment showed that CMSM-MIPs still had good regeneration performance after 5 regeneration cycles. In conclusion, the CMSM-MIPs can not only have the natural adsorption performance of Salix psammophila wood powder but also give it higher selectivity through molecular imprinting, so as to achieve efficient removal of target organic pollutants in water.
