RESUMO

The conformal integration of the electronic skin on the non-developable surface is in great demand for the comprehensive tactile sensing of robotics and prosthetics. However, the current techniques still encounter obstacles in achieving conformal integration of film-like electronic skin on non-developable surfaces with substantial curvatures for contact pressure detection and tactile mapping. In this paper, by utilizing the 3D printing technology to prepare the 3D electrode array in the structural component following its surface curvature, and covering it with a molded functional shell to form the pressure sensitive iontronic interface, a device is proposed to achieve high-sensitive pressure detection and high-fidelity tactile mapping on a complicated non-developable surface, called structural electronic skin (SES). The SES is prepared in a 3D printed fingertip with 46 tactile sensing units distributed on its curved surface, achieving the integration of both structural and tactile functions in a single component. By integrating the smart fingertip into a dexterous hand, a series of demonstrations are presented to show the dead-zone free pressure detection and tactile mapping with high sensitivity, for instance, 2D pulse wave monitoring and robotic injection in a medical robot, object recognition and compliant control in a smart prosthesis.

RESUMO

Ultra-thin rare earth iron garnet (RIG) films with a narrow ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) line width and a low damping factor have attracted a great deal of attention for microwave and spintronic applications. In this work, 200 nm Y3(GaAlFe)5O12 garnet (GaAl-YIG) films were prepared on gadolinium gallium garnet (GGG) substrates by liquid-phase epitaxy (LPE) with low saturation magnetization. The microstructural properties, chemical composition, and magnetostatic and dynamic magnetization characteristics of the films are discussed in detail. According to the structural analysis, these films exhibit a low surface roughness of less than 0.5 nm. The GaAl-YIG films show an obvious temperature dependence of lattice parameter and strain state, and the film's parameter is perfectly matched with that of the GGG substrate at 810°C. There is a clear variation in the Pb level, which brings about a gradual enhancement of the coercivity and a diminution of the squareness ratio of magnetic hysteresis loops as the growth temperature is reduced. Slight changes in surface roughness, strain condition and content of Pb induce the FMR line width and damping factor to vary on a small scale. The line width is less than 10.17 Oe at 12 GHz and the damping factor is of the order of 10-4. All these properties demonstrate that these ultra-thin GaAl-YIG films are of benefit for the development of devices operated at lower frequencies and in lower fields.

RESUMO

Regular environmental light-dark (LD) cycle-regulated period circadian clock 2 (Per2) gene expression is essential for circadian oscillation, nutrient metabolism, and intestinal microbiota balance. Herein, we combined environmental LD cycles with Per2 gene knockout to investigate how LD cycles mediate Per2 expression to regulate colonic and cecal inflammatory and barrier functions, microbiome, and short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) in the circulation. Mice were divided into knockout (KO) and wild type (CON) under normal light-dark cycle (NLD) and short-light (SL) cycle for 2 weeks after 4 weeks of adaptation. The concentrations of SCFAs in the serum and large intestine, the colonic and cecal epithelial circadian rhythm, SCFAs transporter, inflammatory and barrier-related genes, and Illumina 16S rRNA sequencing were measured after euthanasia during 10:00-12:00. KO decreased the feeding frequency at 0:00-2:00 but increased at 12:00-14:00 both under NLD and SL. KO upregulated the expression of Per1 and Rev-erbα in the colon and cecum, while it downregulated Clock and Bmal1. In terms of inflammatory and barrier functions, KO increased the expression of Tnf-α, Tlr2, and Nf-κb p65 in the colon and cecum, while it decreased Claudin and Occludin-1. KO decreased the concentrations of total SCFAs and acetate in the colon and cecum, but it increased butyrate, while it had no impact on SCFAs in the serum. KO increased the SCFAs transporter because of the upregulation of Nhe1, Nhe3, and Mct4. Sequencing data revealed that KO improved bacteria α-diversity and increased Lachnospiraceae and Ruminococcaceae abundance, while it downregulated Erysipelatoclostridium, Prevotellaceae UCG_001, Olsenella, and Christensenellaceae R-7 under NLD in KO mice. Most of the differential bacterial genus were enriched in amino acid and carbohydrate metabolism pathways. Overall, Per2 knockout altered circadian oscillation in the large intestine, KO improved intestinal microbiota diversity, the increase in Clostridiales abundance led to the reduction in SCFAs in the circulation, concentrations of total SCFAs and acetate decreased, while butyrate increased and SCFAs transport was enhanced. These alterations may potentially lead to inflammation of the large intestine. Short-light treatment had minor impact on intestinal microbiome and metabolism.

RESUMO

In recent years, nitrate plays an increasingly important role in haze pollution and strict emission control seems ineffective in reducing nitrate pollution in China. In this study, observations of gaseous and particulate pollutants during the COVID-19 lockdown, as well as numerical modelling were integrated to explore the underlying causes of the nonlinear response of nitrate mitigation to nitric oxides (NOx) reduction. We found that, due to less NOx titration effect and the transition of ozone (O3) formation regime caused by NOx emissions reduction, a significant increase of O3 (by ∼ 69%) was observed during the lockdown period, leading to higher atmospheric oxidizing capacity and facilitating the conversion from NOx to oxidation products like nitric acid (HNO3). It is proven by the fact that 26-61% reduction of NOx emissions only lowered surface HNO3 by 2-3% in Hebi and Nanjing, eastern China. In addition, ammonia concentration in Hebi and Nanjing increased by 10% and 40% during the lockdown, respectively. Model results suggested that the increasing ammonia can promote the gas-particle partition and thus enhance the nitrate formation by up to 20%. The enhanced atmospheric oxidizing capacity together with increasing ammonia availability jointly promotes the nitrate formation, thereby partly offsetting the drop of NOx. This work sheds more lights on the side effects of a sharp NOx reduction and highlights the importance of a coordinated control strategy.

RESUMO

A comprehensive evaluation system and model of Coastal Wetland Ecological Vulnerability (CWEV) was constructed and applied to reveal spatial heterogeneity of the ecological vulnerability of the Yellow River Delta Wetland (YRDW). The results showed that the score of the ecological vulnerability (EVS) of the YRDW was 0.49, which was generally at a medium vulnerability level. The wetland area of high vulnerability was up to 943km2, accounting for 35.2% of the total area, followed by the medium vulnerable area with an area of 750km2, accounting for 28.1% of the total area. From the coastline perpendicularly to the land, the "seaward" gradient effect gradually decreased, the vulnerability-increasing "hydrologic connectivity" effect increased with the distance from the river channel, and the "land source influence" effect gradually decayed along with the vulnerability of population and economy gathering areas.

RESUMO

Low noise, good consistency, and long-term stability are critical for a multi-channel fiber optic intrusion detection system. This paper proposes a low-noise 32-channel fiber optic interrogator based on phase generation carrier technique, which emphasizes on the analysis of key parameters related to system consistency and stability. A novel time-division locking technique of the carrier modulation depth and carrier phase delay is proposed. By locking the carrier modulation depth and carrier phase delay simultaneously, the consistency and stability of the multi-channel interferometric interrogator is significantly improved. The results show that in the multi-channel system, the noise level of each channel is below 12.6 ng/√Hz @ 5 Hz, and the noise level differences between each two channels are less than 2.6 dB, the noise level fluctuations of all channels are less than 1.4 dB over 24 hours. A subway intrusion detection is demonstrated in Shenzhen, China. Geological drilling events can be clearly recorded and identified.

RESUMO

Black TiO2-x attracts enormous attention due to its large solar absorption and improved conductivity. In this work, a novel structure of TiO2-x with conductive TiO layer, performing full-spectrum absorption, was synthesized in one step by the unforeseen dismutation reaction of titanium sub-oxides (Tin O2n-1 ) in ammonium halide atmosphere. For this new reaction, a possible mechanism of decomposition-etching-disproportionation-rehydrolysis process was proposed. The vital intermediate reactant TiCl4 , which verifies the assumption, has been captured in the form of (NH4 )2 TiCl6 , especially where Ti2 O3 is the reactant. Furthermore, this work not only can nominate TiO as an alternative for noble metals or carbon materials in the aim to improve the electron conductivity and solar absorption of black TiO2-x , which are important in electrochemistry and optoelectronics fields, but also can be a new route to synthesize special structures for other multivalent transition metals.

RESUMO

Lime mud is a kind of solid waste in the papermaking industry, which has been a source of serious environmental pollution. Ceramsites containing anorthite and gehlenite were prepared from lime mud and fly ash through the solid state reaction method at 1050°C. The objective of this study was to explore the efficiency of Ca(2+) and OH(-) release and assess the phosphorus and copper ion removal performance of the ceramsites via batch experiments, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results show that Ca(2+) and OH(-) were released from the ceramsites due to the dissolution of anorthite, gehlenite and available lime. It is also concluded that gehlenite had stronger capacity for Ca(2+) and OH(-) release compared with anorthite. The Ca(2+) release could be fit well by the Avrami kinetic model. Increases of porosity, dosage and temperature were associated with increases in the concentrations of Ca(2+) and OH(-) released. Under different conditions, the ceramsites could maintain aqueous solutions in alkaline conditions (pH=9.3-10.9) and the release of Ca(2+) was not affected. The removal rates of phosphorus and copper ions were as high as 96.88% and 96.81%, respectively. The final pH values of both phosphorus and copper ions solutions changed slightly. The reuse of lime mud in the form of ceramsites is an effective strategy.

RESUMO

The aim of this article is to compare the superficial venous drainage system versus dual venous drainage system of radial forearm free flaps (RFFF) and its impact on flap survival. A total of 136 consecutive patients undergoing RFFF reconstruction for oral and maxillofacial surgical defects were reviewed retrospectively. In group l, both the superficial and deep veins were anastomosed to the neck recipient veins. In group 2, only the superficial vein was used for anastomosis. There were no statistical differences in venous problems between two groups (6/68 in group 1 vs. 5/68 in group 2, P = 0.75). The flap survival rate was 98.5% (66/68 in group 1 vs. 68/68 in group 2, P = 0.15). Although there are many theoretical advantages to dual venous drainage system anastomoses, they seem not to impact on flap survival in our experience.
