RESUMO

This paper presents experimental and dynamic modeling research on the rubber bushings of the rear sub-frame. The Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm was utilized to optimize a Backpropagation (BP) neural network, which was separately trained and tested across two frequency ranges: 1-40 Hz and 41-50 Hz, using wideband frequency sweep dynamic stiffness test data. The testing errors at amplitudes of 0.2 mm, 0.3 mm, and 0.5 mm were found to be 1.03%, 3.05%, and 1.96%, respectively. Subsequently, the trained neural network was employed to predict data within the frequency range of 51-70 Hz. To incorporate the predicted data into simulation software, a dynamic model of the rubber bushing was established, encompassing elastic, friction, and viscoelastic elements. Additionally, a novel model, integrating high-order fractional derivatives, was proposed based on the frequency-dependent model for the viscoelastic element. An enhanced Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm was introduced to identify the model's parameters using the predicted data. In comparison to the frequency-dependent model, the new model exhibited lower fitting errors at various amplitudes, with reductions of 3.84%, 3.61%, and 5.49%, respectively. This research establishes a solid foundation for subsequent vehicle dynamic modeling and simulation.

The citrus red mite, Panonychus citri, is one of the most notorious and devastating citrus pests around the world that has developed resistance to multiple chemical acaricides. In previous research, we found that spirodiclofen-resistant is related to overexpression of P450, CCE, and ABC transporter genes in P. citri. However, the regulatory mechanisms of these detoxification genes are still elusive. This study identified all hormone receptor 96 genes of P. citri. 8 PcHR96 genes contained highly conserved domains. The expression profiles showed that PcHR96h was significantly upregulated in spirodiclofen resistant strain and after exposure to spirodiclofen. RNA interference of PcHR96h decreased expression of detoxification genes and increased spirodiclofen susceptibility in P. citri. Furthermore, molecular docking, heterologous expression, and drug affinity responsive target stability demonstrated that PcHR96h can interact with spirodiclofen in vitro. Our research results indicate that PcHR96h plays an important role in regulating spirodiclofen susceptibility and provides theoretical support for the resistance management of P. citri.

Although Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 infection (SARS-CoV-2) is primarily recognized as a respiratory disease, mounting evidence suggests that it may lead to neurological and cognitive impairments. The current study used three eye-tracking tasks (free-viewing, fixation, and smooth pursuit) to assess the oculomotor functions of mild infected cases over six months with symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infected volunteers. Fifty symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infected, and 24 self-reported healthy controls completed the eye-tracking tasks in an initial assessment. Then, 45, and 40 symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infected completed the tasks at 2- and 6-months post-infection, respectively. In the initial assessment, symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infected exhibited impairments in diverse eye movement metrics. Over the six months following infection, the infected reported overall improvement in health condition, except for self-perceived mental health. The eye movement patterns in the free-viewing task shifted toward a more focal processing mode and there was no significant improvement in fixation stability among the infected. A linear discriminant analysis shows that eye movement metrics could differentiate the infected from healthy controls with an accuracy of approximately 62%, even 6 months post-infection. These findings suggest that symptomatic SARSCoV- 2 infection may result in persistent impairments in oculomotor functions, and the employment of eye-tracking technology can offer valuable insights into both the immediate and long-term effects of SARS-CoV-2 infections. Future studies should employ a more balanced research design and leverage advanced machine-learning methods to comprehensively investigate the impact of SARSCoV- 2 infection on oculomotor functions.

BACKGROUND: Jugulo-omohyoid lymph nodes (JOHLN) metastasis has proven to be associated with lateral lymph node metastasis (LLNM). This study aimed to reveal the clinical features and evaluate the predictive value of JOHLN in PTC to guide the extent of surgery. METHODS: A total of 550 patients pathologically diagnosed with PTC between October 2015 and January 2020, all of whom underwent thyroidectomy and lateral lymph node dissection, were included in this study. RESULTS: Thyroiditis, tumor location, tumor size, extra-thyroidal extension, extra-nodal extension, central lymph node metastasis (CLNM), and LLMM were associated with JOHLN. Male, upper lobe tumor, multifocality, extra-nodal extension, CLNM, and JOHLN metastasis were independent risk factors from LLNM. A nomogram based on predictors performed well. Nerve invasion contributed the most to the prediction model, followed by JOHLN metastasis. The area under the curve (AUC) was 0.855, and the p-value of the Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness of fit test was 0.18. Decision curve analysis showed that the nomogram was clinically helpful. CONCLUSION: JOLHN metastasis could be a clinically sensitive predictor of further LLM. A high-performance nomogram was established, which can provide an individual risk assessment of LNM and guide treatment decisions for patients.

Currently prevalent multi-modal 3D detection methods rely on dense detectors that usually use dense Bird's-Eye-View (BEV) feature maps. However, the cost of such BEV feature maps is quadratic to the detection range, making it not scalable for long-range detection. Recently, LiDAR-only fully sparse architecture has been gaining attention for its high efficiency in long-range perception. In this paper, we study how to develop a multi-modal fully sparse detector. Specifically, our proposed detector integrates the well-studied 2D instance segmentation into the LiDAR side, which is parallel to the 3D instance segmentation part in the LiDAR-only baseline. The proposed instance-based fusion framework maintains full sparsity while overcoming the constraints associated with the LiDAR-only fully sparse detector. Our framework showcases state-of-the-art performance on the widely used nuScenes dataset, Waymo Open Dataset, and the long-range Argoverse 2 dataset. Notably, the inference speed of our proposed method under the long-range perception setting is 2.7× faster than that of other state-of-the-art multimodal 3D detection methods. Data association is at the core of many computer vision tasks, e.g., multiple object tracking, image matching, and point cloud registration. however, current data association solutions have some defects: they mostly ignore the intra-view context information; besides, they either train deep association models in an end-to-end way and hardly utilize the advantage of optimization-based assignment methods, or only use an off-the-shelf neural network to extract features. In this paper, we propose a general learnable graph matching method to address these issues. Especially, we model the intra-view relationships as an undirected graph. Then data association turns into a general graph matching problem between graphs. Furthermore, to make optimization end-to-end differentiable, we relax the original graph matching problem into continuous quadratic programming and then incorporate training into a deep graph neural network with KKT conditions and implicit function theorem. In MOT task, our method achieves state-of-the-art performance on several MOT datasets. For image matching, our method outperforms state-of-the-art methods on a popular indoor dataset, ScanNet. For point cloud registration, we also achieve competitive results.

Most commercially available eye-tracking devices rely on video cameras and image processing algorithms to track gaze. Despite this, emerging technologies are entering the field, making high-speed, cameraless eye-tracking more accessible. In this study, a series of tests were conducted to compare the data quality of MEMS-based eye-tracking glasses (AdHawk MindLink) with three widely used camera-based eye-tracking devices (EyeLink Portable Duo, Tobii Pro Glasses 2, and SMI Eye Tracking Glasses 2). The data quality measures assessed in these tests included accuracy, precision, data loss, and system latency. The results suggest that, overall, the data quality of the eye-tracking glasses was lower compared to that of a desktop EyeLink Portable Duo eye-tracker. Among the eye-tracking glasses, the accuracy and precision of the MindLink eye-tracking glasses were either higher or on par with those of Tobii Pro Glasses 2 and SMI Eye Tracking Glasses 2. The system latency of MindLink was approximately 9 ms, significantly lower than that of camera-based eye-tracking devices found in VR goggles. These results suggest that the MindLink eye-tracking glasses show promise for research applications where high sampling rates and low latency are preferred.

INTRODUCTION: Studies have revealed that age is associated with the risk of lateral lymph node metastasis (LLNM) in papillary thyroid cancer (PTC). This study aimed to identify the optimal cut point of age for a more precise prediction model of LLNM and to reveal differences in risk factors between patients of distinct age stages. METHODS: A total of 499 patients who had undergone thyroidectomy and lateral neck dissection (LND) for PTC were enrolled. The locally weighted scatterplot smoothing (LOWESS) curve and the 'changepoint' package were used to identify the optimal age cut point using R. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to identify independent risk factors of LLNM in each group divided by age. RESULTS: Younger patients were more likely to have LLNM, and the optimal cut points of age to stratify the risk of LLNM were 30 and 45 years old. Central lymph node metastasis (CLNM) was a prominent risk factor for further LNM in all patients. Apart from CLNM, sex(p = 0.033), tumor size(p = 0.027), and tumor location(p = 0.020) were independent predictors for patients younger than 30 years old; tumor location(p = 0.013), extra-thyroidal extension(p < 0.001), and extra-nodal extension(p = 0.042) were independent risk factors for patients older than 45 years old. CONCLUSIONS: Our study could be interpreted as an implication for a change in surgical management. LND should be more actively performed when CLNM is confirmed; for younger patients with tumors in the upper lobe and older patients with extra-thyroidal extension tumors, more aggressive detection of the lateral neck might be considered.

AIM: To estimate the effects of nurse-led self-care interventions on people with heart failure (HF). BACKGROUND: Research evidence of the effects of nurse-led HF self-care interventions on patient outcomes is scant. DESIGN: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials (RCTs). DATA SOURCES: Six databases (MEDLINE, Embase, Web of Science, CENTRAL, CINAHL and PsycINFO) were searched from the inception to December 2022 to identify eligible studies. METHODS: RCTs published in English that evaluated the impact of nurse-led HF self-care interventions on quality of life, anxiety, symptom burden, sleep quality, healthcare service utilisation and mortality were included. The risk of bias in included studies was assessed using RoB 2.0. We conducted data syntheses using the R software and graded the quality of the evidence using the GRADE approach. The systematic review was conducted in accordance with the PRISMA. RESULTS: Twenty-five studies with 2746 subjects were included. Our findings demonstrated, that compared to the controls, nurse-led self-care interventions improved QOL (SMD: .83, 95% CI: .50-1.15, moderate evidence), anxiety (MD: 1.39, 95% CI: .49-2.29, high evidence) and symptom burden (SMD: .81, 95% CI: .24-1.38, low evidence) in people with HF. No significant effects were found in all-cause hospital readmission and all-cause emergency department visit. Research evidence on sleep quality, cardiac-related hospital readmission, cardiac-related emergency department visit and all-cause mortality remained unclear. CONCLUSIONS: Our review suggests that nurse-led HF self-care interventions have favourable effects on the QOL, anxiety and symptom burden. Further, well-designed RCTs are warranted to address the gaps identified in this review. RELEVANCE TO CLINICAL PRACTICE: The results indicated that nurse-led HF self-care interventions could improve QOL, anxiety and symptom burden in people with HF. Nurse-led self-care intervention could be integrated into current HF management practices.

Recent studies have shown that B cells and the associated tertiary lymphoid structures (TLS) correlate with the response of patients to immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) and predict overall survival (OS) in cancer patients. We screened 145 B cell marker genes (BCMG) by a comprehensive analysis of single-cell RNA-sequencing (scRNA-seq) data of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC) from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. The BCMG signature (BCMGS) was established using The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) dataset of HNSC and verified in four independent datasets. The multivariate Cox regression analysis identified the signature as an independent prognostic factor. A prognostic nomogram was constructed with independent prognostic factors using the TCGA dataset. GO and KEGG analysis revealed the underlying signaling pathways related to this signature. Study of immune profiles showed that patients in the low-risk group presented discriminative immune-cell infiltrations. Furthermore, the low-risk group was featured by higher TCR and BCR diversity, which suggested that low-risk patients may be more sensitive to ICIs. Immunohistochemistry was performed, and we found that high expression of FTH1 was significantly correlated with poor OS (P = 0.025). The expression of TIM-3, LAG-3 and PD-1 was positively correlated and associated with better OS in HNSC. However, there was no statistically significant difference between PD-L1, PD-L2, CTLA-4, TIGIT and prognosis. The BCMGS was a promising prognostic biomarker in HNSC, which may help to interpret the responses to immunotherapy and provide a new perspective for future research on the treatment in HNSC.

With the progression of marine exploration and exploitation, as well as the advancements in mechanical intelligence, the utilization of the unmanned surface vehicle (USV) and the design of their guidance system have become prominent areas of focus. However, the stern ramp recovery of the USV is still in its infancy due to its unique attitude requirements and automation design. Furthermore, few studies have addressed the impact of maritime disturbances, with most research limited to simulations. To enhance the efficiency and accuracy of stern ramp recovery, this paper presents the development and construction of a novel recovery system. By incorporating physical modeling of disturbance forces acting on USVs at sea, the practicality of the system is improved. Additionally, an optimized genetic algorithm is introduced in the navigation module to improve convergence rates and subsequently enhance recovery efficiency. A line-of-sight (LOS) algorithm based on average velocity is proposed in this paper to ensure the attainment of unique attitude requirements and to improve the effectiveness of stern chute recovery. This paper provides a detailed description of the independently designed USV hardware system. Moreover, simulations and practical experiments conducted using this experimental platform are presented, offering a new solution for the USV's stern ramp recovery.

OBJECTIVE: The study aimed to investigate the minimal number of examined lymph nodes (ELNs) for accurate assessment of lymph node status and favorable prognosis in patients with stage T1-2 supraglottic laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) who received radical resection. METHODS: Patients with stage T1-2 supraglottic LSCC from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database and the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Cancer Hospital/National Cancer Center (NCC) were reviewed. The association of the ELN count with the identification of nodal metastasis and overall survival (OS) was analyzed using a multivariate regression model. Locally weighted scatterplot smoothing fitting curve and the 'changepoint' package were adopted to identify the optimal cut points using R. RESULTS: A total of 429 patients from the SEER database and 53 patients from NCC were enrolled. The probability of identifying nodal metastasis was positively related to the ELN count. For patients diagnosed with pathological stage N0 (pN0) disease, the mortality risks rapidly decreased when the amount of ELNs exceeded ten, and those with ELNs >10 had better OS. CONCLUSION: An adequate amount of ELNs benefits precise nodal staging in patients with stage T1-2 supraglottic LSCC. Ten lymph nodes are the minimum number of ELNs. For pN0 patients, an ELN count ≤10 is an unfavorable prognostic factor.

Introduction: Taxus species are used as medicinal plants all over the world. The leaves of Taxus species are sustainable medicinal resources that are rich in taxoids and flavonoids. However, traditional identification methods cannot effectively identify Taxus species on the basis of leaces used as raw medicinal materials, because their appearance and morphological characteristics are almost the same, and the probability of error identification increases in accordance with the subjective consciousness of the experimenter. Moreover, although the leaves of different Taxus species have been widely used, their chemical components are similar and lack systematic comparative research. Such a situation is challenging for quality assessment. Materials and methods: In this study, ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with triple quadrupole mass spectrometry combined with chemometrics was applied for the simultaneous determination of eight taxoids, four flavanols, five flavonols, two dihydroflavones, and five biflavones in the leaves of six Taxus species, namely, T. mairei, T. chinensis, T. yunnanensis, T. wallichiana, T. cuspidata, and T. media. Chemometric methods, including hierarchical cluster analysis, principal component analysis, orthogonal partial least squares-discriminate analysis, random forest iterative modeling, and fisher linear discriminant analysis, were utilized to differentiate and evaluate the six Taxus species. Results: This proposed method exhibited good linearity (R 2 = 0.9999-0.9972) with a lower quantification limits of 0.94-3.05 ng/mL for all analytes. The intra- and inter-day precisions were within 6.83%. Six compounds, namely, 7-xylosyl-10-deacetyltaxol, ginkgetin, rutin, aromadendrin, 10-deacetyl baccatin III, and epigallocatechin, were identified through chemometrics for the first time. These compounds can be used as important chemical markers to distinguish the above six Taxus species rapidly. Conclusion: This study established a method for determination of the leaves of six Taxus species, and revealing the differences in the chemical components of these six Taxus species.

Drowsiness poses a serious challenge to road safety and various in-cabin sensing technologies have been experimented with to monitor driver alertness. Cameras offer a convenient means for contactless sensing, but they may violate user privacy and require complex algorithms to accommodate user (e.g., sunglasses) and environmental (e.g., lighting conditions) constraints. This paper presents a lightweight convolution neural network that measures eye closure based on eye images captured by a wearable glass prototype, which features a hot mirror-based design that allows the camera to be installed on the glass temples. The experimental results showed that the wearable glass prototype, with the neural network in its core, was highly effective in detecting eye blinks. The blink rate derived from the glass output was highly consistent with an industrial gold standard EyeLink eye-tracker. As eye blink characteristics are sensitive measures of driver drowsiness, the glass prototype and the lightweight neural network presented in this paper would provide a computationally efficient yet viable solution for real-world applications.

PURPOSE: The study aimed to identify the value and optimal age cutoff to predict the progression of highly suspicious thyroid nodules ≤ 10 mm during active surveillance (AS), and to reveal distinct risk factors in patients of different ages. METHODS: A total of 779 patients with highly suspicious thyroid nodules were enrolled and followed up by ultrasonography. Locally weighted scatterplot smoothing (LOWESS) and the package 'changepoint' were used to identify the optimal age cutoffs using R. Multivariate Cox regression was performed to identify independent prognostic factors in each patient group divided according to age. RESULTS: Age was an independent predictor of nodule progression (P = 0.038). The optimal age cutoff to stratify the risk of nodule progression was 30 years. Younger patients were more likely to have progression of nodules during AS (P < 0.001), including enlargement of nodule size (P = 0.011) and new lesion occurrence (P < 0.001). Nodule size was identified as a risk factor for disease progression in patients younger than 30 years old (P = 0.008, OR 7.946, 95% CI 1.715-36.820), while multifocality (P = 0.018, OR 2.315, 95% CI 1.155-4.639) and thyroiditis (P = 0.028, OR 2.265, 95% CI 1.092-4.699) were independent predictors in patients over 30 years old. CONCLUSIONS: Highly suspicious thyroid nodules ≤ 10 mm in young patients tended to be more progressive. The predictors of disease progression were distinct in patients of different ages.

We demonstrated the formation, structure and stability of Pickering emulsions stabilized by octenyl succinic anhydride starch (OSA-S)/chitosan (CS) complexes and explored their potential as templates for porous materials. Sufficient oil fraction (Φ > 50 %) was decisive for stable emulsions, whereas the complex concentration (c) significantly affected the gel network of emulsions. An increase in Φ or c led to tighter droplet arrangement and enhanced network, which improved the self-supporting characteristics and the stability of emulsions. The stacking of OSA-S/CS complexes at the oil-water interface influenced the emulsion properties, forming typical microstructure with small droplets embedded in interstices of large droplets, and bridging flocculation occurred. Porous materials prepared using emulsions (Φ > 75 %) as templates exhibited semi-open structures with pore size and network varying with different Φ or c. There was no structure collapse due to the interconnectivity of complexes. Our work provides comprehensive information on OSA-S/CS complex-stabilized Pickering emulsions.

The programming of rapid eye movements or "saccades" involves a large collection of neural substrates. The subcortical oculomotor center - the superior colliculus (SC) - contains a topographical motor map that encodes saccade vectors. Using a visual distractor task, the present study examined a classic model of the SC motor map, which assumes a symmetrical representation of the upper visual field (UVF) and lower visual field (LVF). Visual distractors are known to attract or repel the saccade trajectory, depending on their angular distance from the target. In the present study, the distractor (if presented) was placed at a location that mirrored the target in the opposite visual field (upper or lower). The symmetrical SC model predicts equivalent directional deviations for saccades into the UVF and LVF. The results, however, showed that the directional deviations evoked by visual distractors were much stronger for saccades directed to the LVF. We argue that this observation is consistent with the recent neurophysiological finding that the LVF is relatively under-represented, as compared to the UVF, in the SC and possibly in other oculomotor centers. We conclude the paper with a suggested revision to the SC model.

OBJECTIVE: The study aimed to determine the optimal count of examined lymph nodes (ELN) for accurate assessment of lymph node status and favorable long-term survival in patients with oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma (OTSCC) who received radical resection. METHODS: Patients with OTSCC who received radical resection between 2004 and 2015 were enrolled from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database (SEER) and were randomly divided into two cohorts. The association of ELN count with nodal migration and overall survival (OS) was analyzed using a multivariate regression model with the adjustment of relevant factors. Locally weighted scatterplot smoothing (LOWESS) and 'strucchange' package were adopted to identify the optimal cut points using R. RESULTS: A total of 2077 patients were included in this study. The optimal cut points of ELN count for accurate nodal staging and favorable OS were 19 and 15, respectively. The probability of detecting positive lymph nodes (PLN) significantly increased in patients with ELN count ≥ 19 in comparison to those with ELN count < 19 (training set, P < 0.001; validation set, P = 0.012). A better postoperative prognosis was observed in patients with ELN count ≥ 15 than those with fewer ELN (training set, P = 0.001, OR: 0.765; validation set, P = 0.016, OR: 0.678). CONCLUSION: The optimal cut point of ELN count to ensure the accuracy of nodal staging and to achieve a favorable postoperative prognosis were 19 and 15, respectively. The ELN count beyond the cutoff values might improve the accuracy of cancer staging and OS.
