5-(Cyanomethyl)-3-((5,5-dimethyl-3-oxocyclohex-1-en-1-yl)amino)-1H-pyrazole-4-carbonitrile (3) is used as a key for the synthesis of arylidenes 5a-fvia its reaction with some aldehydes 4a-f. 5-[(5,5-Dimethyl-3-oxocyclohex-1-en-1-yl)amino]-3-(2-imino-2H-chromen-3-yl)-1H-pyrazole-4-carbonitrile (7) was synthesized via the reaction of compound (3) with 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde in EtOH/piperidine. The target compounds were tested against cotton leafworm larvae in their second and fourth instar. The available data demonstrated that the LC50 values for commercial phenylpyrazole were 3.37 mg/L and 4.55 mg/L for the most affected synthesized compound, 5b. The chemical structure of compound 5b has two cyano moieties, a pyrazole ring and a chlorophenyl, which may be increasing it efficiency. Evaluation of the latent effects of the examined synthesized compounds on various biological parameters, including adult longevity, pupal weight, proportion of normal, deformed pupae, adult emergency, fecundity, and egg hatchability, was done in an additional effort to slightly improve insecticidal compounds. Twelve synthesized compounds were subjected to a molecular docking analysis against glutamate-activated chloride channels. Twelve artificial compounds with the PDB ID of 4COF were subjected to a molecular docking study against the gamma-aminobutyric acid receptor (GABA).

Fenpropathrin (FNP) is a man-made insecticide of to the pyrethroid class, commonly employed in agricultural and horticultural practices. However, it has a prolonged persistence in the environment. Sambucus nigra, also referred to as SN, is a botanical species recognized for its notable antioxidant characteristics. The objective of this study was to examine if SN extract could mitigate the reproductive toxicity induced by FNP in rats. A total of thirty rats were categorized into six distinct groups: a control group with no treatment, two groups getting SN extract at varying doses, a group receiving FNP, and two groups receiving both FNP and SN extract. The exposure to FNP led to a decline in the number and movement of sperm, lowered levels of testosterone, and reduced the activity of the StAR gene in the FNP group compared to the control group (p < 0.05). In addition, FNP resulted in a significant increase in malondialdehyde levels with a significant drop in GSH content compared to the control group (p < 0.05). Also, a significant increase in the expression of caspase 3. Nevertheless, the administration of SN extract alleviated these effects and reinstated spermatogenesis, thereby bringing the parameters closer to those observed in the control group. The data indicate that FNP can induce testicular harm and infertility, but SN extract can mitigate these detrimental consequences.

BACKGROUND: Despite advancements in the management of HIV infection, the factors contributing to stroke development among HIV-positive individuals remain unclear. This systematic review and meta-analysis aim to identify and evaluate the relative risk factors associated with stroke susceptibility in the HIV population. METHODS: A comprehensive search was conducted in PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases to identify studies investigating the risk of stroke development in HIV patients and assessing the role of different risk factors, including hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, smoking, sex, and race. The quality assessment of case-control studies was conducted using the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale, whereas cohort studies were assessed using the National Institute of Health tool. Meta-analyses were performed using a random-effects model to determine pooled hazard ratios (HRs) or odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). RESULTS: A total of 18 observational studies involving 116,184 HIV-positive and 3,184,245 HIV-negative patients were included. HIV-positive patients exhibited a significantly higher risk of stroke compared with HIV-negative patients [OR (95% CI): 1.31 (1.20 to 1.44)]. Subgroup analyses revealed increased risks for both ischemic stroke [OR (95% CI): 1.32 (1.19 to 1.46)] and hemorrhagic stroke [OR (95% CI): 1.31 (1.09 to 1.56)]. Pooled adjusted HRs showed a significant association between stroke and HIV positivity (HR: 1.37, 95% CI: 1.22 to 1.54). Among HIV-positive patients with stroke, hypertension [OR (95% CI): 3.5 (1.42 to 8.65)], diabetes [OR (95% CI): 5 (2.12 to 11.95)], hyperlipidemia, smoking, male gender, and black race were associated with an increased risk. DISCUSSION: Our study revealed a significant increased risk of stroke development among people with HIV. A multitude of factors, encompassing sociodemographic characteristics, racial background, underlying health conditions, and personal behaviors, significantly elevate the risk of stroke in individuals living with HIV. The use of observational studies introduces inherent limitations, and further investigations are necessary to explore the underlying mechanisms of stroke in people with HIV for potential treatment strategies. CONCLUSION: HIV patients face a higher risk of stroke development, either ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes. Hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, smoking, male gender, and black race were identified as significant risk factors. Early identification and management of these risk factors are crucial in reducing stroke incidence among patients living with HIV.

Hemophilia A, an X-linked genetic disorder, is characterized by a deficiency or dysfunction of clotting Factor VIII. The treatment landscape has substantially changed by introducing novel extended half-life factor VIII (EHL-FVIII) replacement therapies such as efanesoctocog Alfa and non-factor replacement therapy such as emicizumab. These agents signal a shift from treatments requiring multiple weekly infusions to advanced therapies with long half-lives, offering superior protection against bleeding and improving patient adherence and quality of life. While EHL-FVIII treatment might lead to inhibitor development in some patients, non-factor replacement therapy carries thrombotic risks. Therefore, ongoing research and the generation of robust clinical evidence remain vital to guide the selection of optimal and cost-effective first-line therapies for hemophilia A patients.

The present study aimed to evaluate the potential of chitosan coating silver nanoparticles to enhance the growth performance and immune status of broilers without inducing oxidative stress-related pathological lesions in any organs or leaving residues of silver in the edible parts. Five clusters of Cobb one-day-old chicks (n = 10/group in each replication) were given oral therapy, once a week for 36 days as follows: (1) distilled water, (2, 3) 0.5- and 5 ppm silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), respectively, (4, 5) 0.5- and 5 ppm chitosan/silver nanoconjugates (CS/Ag-NCs), respectively. The results demonstrated a marked elevation in the body weight gain with a decline in the food conversion ratio and marked improvement in feeding and drinking behavior of all nanoparticles treated groups, but higher in CS/Ag-NCs groups than AgNPs groups and control group. In contrast to the 0.5 ppm AgNPs receiving group, the group receiving 5 ppm AgNPs noticed remarkable histological changes in some organs, including the liver, kidneys, spleen, and heart. Moreover, the administration of CS/Ag-NCs at two dosage levels didn't influence any histological changes. The AgNPs groups' antibody titers against the ND and AI viruses were almost identical to those of the control group. Otherwise, CS/Ag-NCs groups recorded the highest antibody titers. Additionally, there was a significant increase in silver content in most edible organs of AgNPs groups at a dosage level of 5 ppm. Otherwise, the coating of AgNPs by CSNPs could decrease the aggregation of silver in the biological organs. Thus, we recommend utilizing 0.5 ppm CS/Ag-NCs in broiler farms to promote their growth performance and strengthen their immune defense.

Introduction: Penconazole (PEN) is a widely applied triazole fungicide. This study sought to define the efficacy of N-acetyl-l-cysteine (NAC) in mitigating PEN-triggered hepatorenal toxicity in rats. Material and Methods: Twenty-eight adult male albino Wistar rats were assigned to four groups: a normal control (NC), a PEN group, a NAC group and a PEN+NAC group. Administration of PEN (50 mg/kg body weight (b.w.) every 2 days) and NAC (150 mg/kg b.w., daily) took place via oral gavage for 10 days. Results: Effective amelioration by NAC of PEN-induced liver and kidney dysfunction was indicated by a significant reduction in the circulating liver and kidney markers (aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, urea and creatinine). Attenuation of PEN-induced oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation in liver and kidney tissues was evident in a significant reduction in malondialdehyde and enhanced total antioxidant capacity. Moreover, NAC significantly reduced the histopathological alterations and the expression of tumour necrosis factor α in liver and kidney tissue. Furthermore, NAC maintained the messenger RNA levels of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2), haem oxygenase 1, and Kelch-like erythroid cell-derived protein 1 and prevented nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NF-κB) protein upregulation caused by PEN. Conclusion: N-acetyl-1-cysteine protected against PEN-induced hepatorenal oxidative damage and inflammatory response via activation of Nrf2 and inhibition of NF-κB pathways.

Haemonchus contortus (H. contortus) is one of the most prevalent gastrointestinal nematodes, causing health problems and economic losses in ruminants. Nanotechnology holds great promise as a field of science, with potential applications in veterinary medicine. This study investigated the in vitro anthelmintic activity of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), selenium nanoparticles (SeNPs), and pomegranate peel extract (Punica granatum; PPE) on different stages of H. contortus: eggs, larvae, and adults. The in vitro anthelmintic efficacy was evaluated using the egg hatching inhibition assay (EHA), the third larval stage paralysis assay (LPA), and the adult worm motility inhibition assay (WMI). Six dilutions of PPE were utilized for EHA, LPA, and WMI, ranging from 0.25 to 6 mg/ml. AgNPs dilutions ranged from 0.00001 to 1.0 µg/ml for EHA and LPA and 1 to 25 µg/ml for WMI. SeNPs were utilized at dilutions of 1, 5, 10, and 15 µg/ml for EHA, LPA, and WMI. The results showed that the lowest concentration of AgNPs, SeNPs, and PPE significantly inhibited egg hatching. To further assess larvicidal activity, AgNPs at the highest concentration of 1 µg/ml induced a strong larvicidal effect, as did SeNPs at the lowest concentration. On the contrary, PPE displayed a significant larvicidal effect at 1 mg/ml compared to the control. The percentage mortality of adult H. contortus was measured as follows (mortality (%) = the number of dead adult H. contortus/total number of adult H. contortus per test × 100). The death of the adult H. contortus was determined by the absence of motility. Adult H. contortus mortality percentage was also significantly affected by all three agents when compared to the control. The AgNPs, SeNPs, and PPE have effective antiparasitic activity on gastrointestinal parasitic nematodes. These results provide evidence of the excellent antiparasitic properties of AgNPs, SeNPs, and PPE, demonstrating their effectiveness in controlling eggs, larvae, and adult H. contortus in vitro.

Methods and Results: The study included 200 Egyptian subjects. They were divided into four equal groups: group 1: obese patients with NAFLD and T2DM (O+/NAFLD+/DM+), group 2: nonobese patients with NAFLD and T2DM (O-/NAFLD+/DM+), group 3: obese nondiabetic patients with NAFLD (O+/NAFLD+/DM-), and group 4: nonobese healthy control subjects. Plasma adiponectin was measured using ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) technique. Ultrasonography was used to diagnose NAFLD. CIMT was assessed using Doppler ultrasonography. Plasma adiponectin was significantly lower and CIMT was significantly higher in O+/NAFLD+/DM+, as compared with O-/NAFLD+/DM+, O+/NAFLD+/DM-, and control subjects (p < 0.001 for all). A significant negative correlation was found between adiponectin and CIMT in obese patients with NAFLD (p < 0.05), but not in patients with NAFLD and T2DM. The significant independent predictors of CIMT were diabetes duration, BMI (body mass index), albumin/creatinine ratio, and cholesterol. Conclusion: Plasma adiponectin is inversely correlated with CIMT in obese patients with NAFLD, but not in patients with NAFLD and T2DM. Hypoadiponectinemia could be a good indicator of cardiovascular risk in obese patients with NAFLD, with or without T2DM, but not in nonobese patients with NAFLD.

Series of novel 1,2,3-triazole, and 1,2,3- triazoline glycosides (a-e) were efficiently synthesized starting from d-arabinose in an effort to synthesize a new type of hybrid molecules containing sugar azide. The key step involved is the introduction of a new group, ethylene glycol, to the anomeric site and protection of the hydroxyl groups with acetic anhydride. Following that, the acetyl group is converted into ethylene glycol to tosylate. Compound Azido ethyl-O-ß-d-arabinofuranoside 4 was synthesized with good yield by treating the derivative 3 with sodium azide, which displaced the tosylate 3 and replaced it with the azide group. The new glycosides were synthesized via a 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction between the intermediate compound 4 and several alkenes and alkynes. The triazole and triazoline compounds were characterized by FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, LC/MS-IT-TOF spectral, and C·H.N. analysis. The antimicrobial screening was assayed using the disc diffusion technique revealed moderate to high potential inhibitory values against three test microorganisms compared to standard drugs. Their pharmacokinetics evaluation also showed promising drug-likeness and ADME properties. Furthermore, density functional theory (DFT) was utilized to obtain the molecular geometry of the title compounds utilizing B3LYP/6-311G++ (d, p), molecular electrostatic potential (MEP), frontier molecular orbitals (FMOs) through the investigation of HOMO and LUMO orbitals, and energy gap value. A lower energy gap value denotes that electrons can be transported more easily, indicating that molecule (b) is more reactive than other compounds. Molecular docking analysis revealed that all the designed triazole and triazoline glycosides interacted strongly inside the active site of the enzyme (PDB ID: 2Q85). and exhibits high docking scores, higher than the standard drug. The range of docking scores is -7.99 kcal/mol compound (a) to -7.42 kcal/mol compound (e).

Hymexazol (HML) is widely used in agriculture as a systemic fungicide and plant growth promoter. Humans are continuously exposed to HML via various routes. The liver and kidneys are essential organs for the detoxification, metabolism, and excretion of HML. However, data concerning the impact of HML on nontarget organisms are scarce. The present study aimed to determine the mechanism of dose-dependent hepatorenal toxicity of HML in rats. Twenty-one rats were divided into three equal groups that received the following treatments via oral intake daily for 14 days: group 1, normal saline; group 2, low dose of HML (1/80 LD50 ); group 3, high dose of HML (1/40 LD50 ). We weighed the rats at the beginning and the end of the experiment to record the weight gain in each group. The results showed that HML induced dose-dependent hepatorenal toxicity manifested by a significant increase in malondialdehyde levels, a decrease in total antioxidant capacity and reduced glutathione contents, and upregulation of the transcriptase levels of the nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), and interleukin-1 beta (IL-1ß) genes. The HML-exposed groups displayed various histopathological changes in both organs, with significant elevation of all serum liver and kidney biomarkers. In conclusion, HML produced hepatorenal toxicity in rats through oxidative stress that mediates the NF-κB signaling pathway in response to pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α and IL-1ß. We advise limiting the use of HML in agricultural and veterinary practices and finding an alternative agent to avoid the human and animal health risks induced by HML exposure.

The neonicotinoid insecticide imidacloprid has been linked to significant reproductive damage in mammals. Origanum majorana essential oil (OME) is a natural herbal product used in the management of many diseases due to its strong antioxidant effects. The oil was hydrodistilled from O. Majorana and analyzed using GC/MS then its possible protective mechanisms against IMI-induced reprotoxicity in male rats were investigated. 28-adult male Wistar rats were divided into 4 groups as follows: group (1) control group, group (2) OME, group (3) IMI, and group (4) IMI + OME. The treatments were applied daily via oral gavage for 60 days. Remarkable abnormalities in both territorial aggressive and sexual behaviors were observed in IMI-treated rats with a significant elevation of serum FSH and LH as well as altered testicular redox status. Along with inhibition of the testicular expression of StAR and aromatase genes and serum total testosterone in addition to abnormal sperm count, viability, motility, and morphology. Histopathological examination showed severe degeneration and necrosis in both germ cells and Leydig cells with atrophy in most of the seminiferous tubules. Co-administration of OME with IMI notably improved all the above-mentioned studied parameters, and restored rats' spermatogenesis, sexual behavior, and favorably modulates the levels of both testosterone and gonadotropic hormones via its potent antioxidant effect. These findings support the use of OME as a fertility enhancer and suggest that it could be used to manage pesticide-induced male infertility.

BACKGROUND: Timely differentiation of biliary atresia (BA) from other infantile cholestatic diseases can impact patient outcomes. Additionally, non-invasive staging of fibrosis after Kasai hepatoportoenterostomy has not been widely standardized. Shear wave elastography is an ultrasound modality that detects changes in tissue stiffness. The authors propose that the utility of elastography in BA can be elucidated through meta-analysis of existing studies. AIM: To assess the utility of elastography in: (1) BA diagnosis, and (2) post-Kasai fibrosis surveillance. METHODS: A literature search identified articles that evaluated elastography for BA diagnosis and for post-Kasai follow-up. Twenty studies met criteria for meta-analysis: Eleven for diagnosis and nine for follow-up post-Kasai. Estimated diagnostic odds ratio (DOR), sensitivity, and specificity of elastography were calculated through a random-effects model using Meta-DiSc software. RESULTS: Mean liver stiffness in BA infants at diagnosis was significantly higher than in non-BA, with overall DOR 24.61, sensitivity 83%, and specificity 79%. Post-Kasai, mean liver stiffness was significantly higher in BA patients with varices than in patients without, with DOR 16.36, sensitivity 85%, and specificity 76%. Elastography differentiated stage F4 fibrosis from F0-F3 with DOR of 70.03, sensitivity 96%, and specificity 89%. Elastography also differentiated F3-F4 fibrosis from F0-F2 with DOR of 24.68, sensitivity 85%, and specificity 81%. CONCLUSION: Elastography has potential as a non-invasive modality for BA diagnosis and surveillance post-Kasai. This paper's limitations include inter-study method heterogeneity and small sample sizes. Future, standardized, multi-center studies are recommended.

Pesticides are widely used in agriculture to kill pests, but their action is non-selective and results in several hazardous effects on humans and animals. Pesticide toxicity has been demonstrated to alter a variety of neurological functions and predisposes to various neurodegenerative diseases. Although, there is no data available for hexaflumuron (HFM) and hymexazol (HML) neurotoxicity. Hence, the present study aims to investigate the possible mechanisms of HFM and HML neurotoxicity. 21 male Wistar rats were divided into three groups and daily received the treatment via oral gavage for 14 days as follows: group (1) normal saline, group (2) HFM (1/100LD50), and group (3) HML (1/100 LD50). Our results revealed that both HFM and HML produced a significant increase in MDA levels and a decrease in GSH and CAT activity in some brain areas. There were severe histopathological alterations mainly neuronal necrosis and gliosis in different examined areas. Upregulation of mRNA levels of JNK and Bax with downregulation of Bcl-2 was also recorded in both pesticides exposed groups. In all studied toxicological parameters, HML produced neurotoxicity more than HFM. HFM targets the cerebral cortex and striatum, while HML targets the cerebral cortex, striatum, hippocampus, and cerebellum. We can conclude that both HFM and HML provoke neurobehavioral toxicity through oxidative stress that impairs the mitochondrial function and activates the JNK-dependent apoptosis pathway.

Carbendazim (CBZ) is one of the most common fungicides used to fight plant fungal diseases, otherwise, it leaves residue on fruits, vegetables, and soil that contaminate the environment, water, animal, and human causing serious health problems. Several studies have reported the reproductive and endocrine pathological disorders induced by CBZ in several animal models, but little is known about its neurotoxicity. So that, the present study aimed to explain the possible mechanisms of CBZ induced neurotoxicity in rats. Sixty male Wistar rats were divided into 4 groups (n = 15). Group (1) received normal saline and was kept as the negative control group, whereas groups (2, 3, 4) received CBZ at 100, 300, 600 mg/kg b.wt respectively. All rats received the aforementioned materials daily via oral gavage. Brain tissue samples were collected at 7, 14, 28 days from the beginning of the experiment. CBZ induced oxidative stress damage manifested by increasing MDA levels and reducing the levels of TAC, GSH, CAT in some brain areas at 14 and 28 days. There were extensive neuropathological alterations in the cerebrum, hippocampus, and cerebellum with strong caspase-3, iNOS, Cox-2 protein expressions mainly in rats receiving 600 mg/kg CBZ at each time point. Moreover, upregulation of mRNA levels of NF-κB, TNF-α, IL-1B genes and downregulation of the transcript levels of both AchE and MAO genes were recorded in all CBZ receiving groups at 14 and 28 days especially those receiving 600 mg/kg CBZ. Our results concluded that CBZ induced dose- and time-dependent neurotoxicity via disturbance of oxidant/antioxidant balance and activation of NF-κB signaling pathway. We recommend reducing the uses of CBZ in agricultural and veterinary fields or finding other novel formulations to reduce its toxicity on non-target organisms and enhance its efficacy on the target organisms.

Objective: The study aimed to investigate the role of nutrition-sensitive and specific interventions along with nutrition education on child stunting during the first 1000 days in Ethiopia. Methods: An adequacy evaluation study was used to see changes between the baseline and end-line data after following for 1 year. A sample of 170 mother-child pairs who had a 1-year followed up was used to detect differences. We performed structural equation modeling to elucidate changes in feeding behaviors, socioeconomic status, water, sanitation and hygiene on child linear growth. Furthermore, the independent effect of covariates on child linear growth was handled using a general linear model. Results: A total of 170 and 270 mother-child dyads were interviewed at baseline and end-line surveys, respectively. After about 1 year of intervention, the annual rate of stunting prevalence declined from 29.3% (95% confidence interval [CI] = 18.6, 42.7) to 16.4% (95% CI = 10.7, 24.2). There was a significant change in the mean of length-for-age Z-score which changed from -1.18 to -0.45 (P < .034). Adjusting for the different constructs of the health belief model, child sex, age, feeding behaviors, and dietary diversity, one egg consumption per day was responsible for the most significant variability explained (36%) for stunting reduction. Conclusions: Sustainable access to egg consumption for children below 2 years experienced a substantial reduction in childhood stunting. A combination of nutrition-sensitive agricultural and direct nutrition interventions along with behavioral-based education is a sustainable strategy in reducing and preventing child growth from faltering in the early life stages.

Reports of thrombotic response after receiving COVID-19 Adenoviral-Vector Based Vaccines raise concerns about vaccine-induced thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT); therefore, we conduct this systematic review to report susceptible demographics outcomes, commonalities, and prognosis of reporting cases. We identified published articles by searching PubMed, SCOPUS, and Web of Science from December 2020 till May 2021, with an updated search in September 2021. All case reports and case series reporting thrombotic response after receiving COVID-19 Adenoviral-Vector Based Vaccines were eligible for including. In addition, two authors independently extracted data and assessed the quality of the included studies. A total of 157 patients with thrombotic events after the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccine and 16 patients with thrombotic events after Ad26.COV2. S vaccine was included in our study. 72% of the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 cases were females, while in Ad26.COV2.S subgroup, all reported patients were females. The commonest presentations were deep vein thrombosis 20 (12.7%) and cerebral venous sinus thrombosis 18 (11.5%) in the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 subgroup while cerebral venous sinus thrombosis 14 (87.5%) and pulmonary embolism 2 (12.5%) in the Ad26.COV2. S subgroup. In this study, we described the certain demographics associated with VITT and the clinical presentations of those cases in the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 and Ad26.COV2. S vaccines. Young individuals, particularly females, may be more susceptible to VITT, and future studies should seek to confirm this association. In addition, the clinical presentation of VITT commonly includes cerebral thrombi, pulmonary embolism, and deep venous thrombosis, but other presentations are also possible, highlighting the importance of clinical vigilance in recent vaccine recipients.

Pesticides are viewed as a major wellspring of ecological contamination and causing serious risky consequences for people and animals. Imidacloprid (IM) and hexaflumuron (HFM) are extensively utilized insect poisons for crop assurance on the planet. A few investigations examined IM harmfulness in rodents, but its exact mechanism hasn't been mentioned previously as well as the toxicity of HFM doesn't elucidate yet. For this reason, the present study was designed to explore the mechanism of each IM and HFM-evoked rat liver and kidney toxicity and to understand its molecular mechanism. 21 male Wistar albino rats were divided into 3 groups, as follows: group (1), normal saline; group (2), IM; and group (3), HFM. Both insecticides were orally administered every day for 28 days at a dose equal to 1/10 LD50 from the active ingredient. After 28 days postdosing, rats were anesthetized to collect blood samples then euthanized to collect liver and kidney tissue specimens. The results showed marked changes in walking, body tension, alertness, and head movement with a significant reduction in rats' body weight in both IM and HFM receiving groups. Significant increases in MDA levels and decrease of GHS levels were recorded in liver and kidney homogenates of either IM or HFM groups. Liver and kidney tissues obtained from both pesticide receiving groups showed extensive histopathological alterations with a significant increase in the serum levels of ALT, AST, urea, and creatinine and a decrease in total proteins, albumin, and globulin levels. In addition, there was upregulation of the transcript levels of casp-3, JNK, and HO-1 genes with strong immunopositivity of casp-3, TNF-á½°, and NF-KB protein expressions in the liver and kidneys of rats receiving either IM or HFM compared with the control group. In all studied parameters, HFM caused hepatorenal toxicity more than those induced by IM. We can conclude that each IM and HFM provoked liver and kidneys damage through overproduction of ROS, activation of NF-KB signaling pathways and mitochondrial/JNK-dependent apoptosis pathway.
