There have been numerous studies attempting to overcome the limitations of current autonomous driving technologies. However, there is no doubt that it is challenging to promise integrity of safety regarding urban driving scenarios and dynamic driving environments. Among the reported countermeasures to supplement the uncertain behavior of autonomous vehicles, teleoperation of the vehicle has been introduced to deal with the disengagement of autonomous driving. However, teleoperation can lead the vehicle to unforeseen and hazardous situations from the viewpoint of wireless communication stability. In particular, communication delay outliers that severely deviate from the passive communication delay should be highlighted because they could hamper the cognition of the circumstances monitored by the teleoperator, or the control signal could be contaminated regardless of the teleoperator's intention. In this study, communication delay outliers were detected and classified based on the stochastic approach (passive delays and outliers were estimated as 98.67% and 1.33%, respectively). Results indicate that communication delay outliers can be automatically detected, independently of the real-time quality of wireless communication stability. Moreover, the proposed framework demonstrates resilience against outliers, thereby mitigating potential performance degradation.

Remarkable progress has occurred over the past two decades in identifying microbiomes affecting the human body in numerous ways. The microbiome is linked to gastrointestinal (GI) tract cancer. The purpose of this study was to determine if there is a common microbiome among GI tract cancers and how the microbiome affects the disease. To ensure ethnic consistency, Korean patients with GI tract cancer were selected. Fusobacterium nucleatum is an enriched bacteria in all cancer tissues. F. nucleatum is a Gram-negative obligate anaerobe that promotes colorectal cancer. Through Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA) and Differentially Expressed Genes (DEG) analyses, the upregulation of the G2M checkpoint pathway was identified in the F. nucleatum-high group. Cell viability and G2M checkpoint pathway genes were examined in MC 38 cells treated with F. nucleatum. F. nucleatum upregulated the expression of G2M checkpoint pathway genes and the cell proliferation of MC 38 cells. F. nucleatum facilitated cancer's use of G2M checkpoint pathways and F. nucleatum could be a therapeutic target in Korean GI tract cancer.

Particulate matter with a diameter of ≤10 µm (PM10) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) affect the DNA methylation in the fetus, but epigenetic studies regarding prenatal exposure to air pollution in Asia are lacking. Therefore, this study aimed to assess whether there is any association between the ambient concentrations of PM10 and NO2 and CpG methylation in the cord blood DNA by using a Korean birth cohort. The concentrations of the air pollutants were incorporated into the final LUR model by using the maternal address data. The methylation level was determined using HumanMethylationEPIC BeadChip and a linear regression analysis model. A multipollutant model including both PM10 and NO2 and models with single pollutants were used for each trimester exposure. The number of differentially methylated positions was the largest for midpregnancy exposure in both the single pollutant models and the multipollutant regression analysis. Additionally, gene-set analysis regarding midpregnancy exposure revealed four gene ontology terms (cellular response to staurosporine, positive regulation of cytoskeleton organization, neurotransmitter transport, and execution phase of apoptosis). In conclusion, these findings show an association between prenatal PM10 and NO2 exposure and DNA methylation in several CpG sites in cord blood cells, especially for midpregnancy exposure.
