RESUMO

Inter-species comparisons are key to deriving an understanding of the behavioral and neural correlates of human cognition from animal models. We perform a detailed comparison of the strategies of female macaque monkeys to male and female humans on a variant of the Wisconsin Card Sort Test (WCST), a widely studied and applied task that provides a multi-attribute measure of cognitive function and depends on the frontal lobe. WCST performance requires the inference of a rule change given ambiguous feedback. We found that well-trained monkeys infer new rules three times more slowly than minimally instructed humans. Input-dependent Hidden Markov Model-Generalized Linear Models were fit to their choices, revealing hidden states akin to feature-based attention in both species. Decision processes resembled a Win-Stay Lose-Shift strategy with inter-species similarities as well as key differences. Monkeys and humans both test multiple rule hypotheses over a series of rule-search trials and perform inference-like computations to exclude candidate choice options. We quantitatively show that perseveration, random exploration and poor sensitivity to negative feedback account for the slower task-switching performance in monkeys.Significance Statement Advances in training and recording from animal models support the study of increasingly complex behaviors in non-humans. Before interpreting their neural computations as human-like, we must first ascertain whether their computational algorithms are human-like. We compared rapid rule-learning strategies of macaque monkeys and humans on a Wisconsin Card Sorting Test variant and found that monkeys are 3-4 times slower than humans at learning new rules. Model fits to choice behavior revealed that both species use qualitatively similar exploration strategies with different decision criteria. These differences produced distinct errors in monkeys that are similar to those observed in humans with prefrontal deficits. Our results generate detailed neural hypotheses and highlight the need for systematic inter-species behavioral and neural comparisons.

Highly self-reactive T cells are censored from the repertoire by both central and peripheral tolerance mechanisms upon receipt of high-affinity TCR signals. Clonal deletion is considered a major driver of central tolerance; however, other mechanisms such as induction of regulatory T cells and functional impairment have been described. An understanding of the interplay between these different central tolerance mechanisms is still lacking. We previously showed that impaired clonal deletion to a model tissue-restricted Ag did not compromise tolerance. In this study, we determined that murine T cells that failed clonal deletion were rendered functionally impaired in the thymus. Programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) was induced in the thymus and was required to establish cell-intrinsic tolerance to tissue-restricted Ag in CD8+ thymocytes independently of clonal deletion. In bone marrow chimeras, tolerance was not observed in PD-L1-deficient recipients, but tolerance was largely maintained following adoptive transfer of tolerant thymocytes or T cells to PD-L1-deficient recipients. However, CRISPR-mediated ablation of PD-1 in tolerant T cells resulted in broken tolerance, suggesting different PD-1 signaling requirements for establishing versus maintaining tolerance. Finally, we showed that chronic exposure to high-affinity Ag supported the long-term maintenance of tolerance. Taken together, our study identifies a critical role for PD-1 in establishing central tolerance in autoreactive T cells that escape clonal deletion. It also sheds light on potential mechanisms of action of anti-PD-1 pathway immune checkpoint blockade and the development of immune-related adverse events.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine disorder with a worldwide prevalence of 6-10 % of women of reproductive age. PCOS is a risk factor for cardiometabolic disorders such as type 2 diabetes, myocardial infarction, and stroke in addition to exhibiting signs of hyperandrogenism and anovulation. However, there is no known cure for PCOS, and medications have only ever been used symptomatically, with a variety of adverse effects. Drugs made from natural plant products may help treat PCOS because several plant extracts have been widely recognized to lessen the symptoms of PCOS. In light of this, 72 current studies on natural products with the potential to control PCOS were examined. By controlling the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway and decreasing NF-κB and cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor (TNF), interleukin-1 (IL-1), and interleukin-6 (IL-6), certain plant-derived chemicals might reduce inflammation. Other substances altered the HPO axis, which normalized hormones. Additionally, other plant components increased glutathione (GSH), superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) levels to reduce radiation-induced oxidative stress. The other substances prevented autophagy by impairing beclin 1, autophagy-related 5 (ATG5), and microtubule-associated protein 1A/1B-light chain 3 - II (LC3- II). The main focus of this comprehensive review is the possibility of plant extracts as natural bio-resources of PCOS treatment by regulating inflammation, hormones, reactive oxygen species (ROS), or autophagy.

Chiral materials have garnered significant attention in the field of condensed matter physics. Nevertheless, the magnetic moment induced by the chiral spatial motion of electrons in helical materials, such as elemental Te and Se, remains inadequately understood. In this work, we investigate the development of quantum angular momentum enforced by chirality by using static and time-dependent density functional theory calculations for an elemental Se chain. Our findings reveal the emergence of an unconventional orbital texture driven by the chiral geometry, giving rise to a nonvanishing current-induced orbital moment. By incorporating spin-orbit coupling, we demonstrate that current-induced spin accumulation arises in the chiral chain, which fundamentally differs from the conventional Edelstein effect. Furthermore, we demonstrate optoelectronic detection of the orbital angular momentum in the chiral Se chain, providing an alternative to the interband Berry curvature, which is ill-defined in low dimensions.

Background: Despite improved outcomes, failure or nonhealing of graft materials has been reported after superior capsular reconstruction (SCR) for massive irreparable rotator cuff tears. Purpose: To evaluate the short-term clinical and radiological outcomes of a novel technique for SCR using an Achilles tendon-bone allograft. Study Design: Case series; Level of evidence, 4. Methods: We performed a retrospective review of patients who underwent SCR using an Achilles tendon-bone allograft with the modified keyhole technique and who had a minimum follow-up of 2 years. The visual analog scale score for pain, American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons score, and Constant score were evaluated as subjective outcomes, while range of motion of the shoulder joint and isokinetic strength were evaluated as objective outcomes. The acromiohumeral interval (AHI), bone-to-bone healing of the allograft and humeral head on computed tomography, and graft integrity on magnetic resonance imaging were evaluated as radiological outcomes. Results: This study included 32 patients with a mean age of 56.8 ± 4.2 years and a mean follow-up of 28.4 ± 6.2 months. A significant improvement from preoperatively to the last follow-up was seen in the mean visual analog scale score for pain (from 6.7 to 1.8), American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons score (from 42.7 to 83.8), Constant score (from 47.2 to 78.5), and AHI (from 4.8 to 8.2 mm) (P < .001 for all) as well as range of motion in forward elevation and internal rotation (P < .001 for both). Medial-to-lateral graft integrity was good in all patients. Nonunion at the fitting zone of the keyhole on the greater tuberosity was diagnosed in 1 case (3.1%), and failure of incorporation between the allograft and remnant tendon at the site of posterior margin convergence was observed in 4 cases (12.5%). Conclusion: The outcomes after SCR using an Achilles tendon-bone allograft and the keyhole technique improved, with an increased AHI and excellent integrity in the medial and lateral directions compared with preoperatively. This technique is a reasonable option for the surgical treatment of irreparable rotator cuff tears.

Enhancing electron correlation in a weakly interacting topological system has great potential to promote correlated topological states of matter with extraordinary quantum properties. Here, the enhancement of electron correlation in a prototypical topological metal, namely iridium dioxide (IrO2 ), via doping with 3d transition metal vanadium is demonstrated. Single-crystalline vanadium-doped IrO2 nanowires are synthesized through chemical vapor deposition where the nanowire yield and morphology are improved by creating rough surfaces on substrates. Vanadium doping leads to a dramatic decrease in Raman intensity without notable peak broadening, signifying the enhancement of electron correlation. The enhanced electron correlation is further evidenced by transport studies where the electrical resistivity is greatly increased and follows an unusual T $\sqrt T $ dependence on the temperature (T). The lattice thermal conductivity is suppressed by an order of magnitude via doping even at room temperature where phonon-impurity scattering becomes less important. Density functional theory calculations suggest that the remarkable reduction of thermal conductivity arises from the complex phonon dispersion and reduced energy gap between phonon branches, which greatly enhances phase space for phonon-phonon Umklapp scattering. This work demonstrates a unique system combining 3d and 5d transition metals in isostructural materials to enrich the system with various types of interactions.

The image of an ideal woman often involves her having long, silky hair. However, the dearth of psychological research on hair limits the understanding of how women's hair functions in romantic relationships. While some scholars have found that the appearance of women's hair signals reproductive potential to men, whether women's hair may affect their sexual lives remains unknown. To investigate the function of hair in romantic relationships, we tested whether women's hair quality and length are associated with sexual frequency in marital dyads. We conducted a paid online survey involving 204 heterosexual marital dyads. The results indicated that women with long and high-quality hair experienced more frequent sexual intercourse with their spouse, as it heightened their husband's perception of their attractiveness and, consequently, intensified their husband's sexual desire toward them. Neither men's hair length nor quality was associated with sexual frequency. Implications of the study are further discussed.

Background: Rotator cuff tendon retears after rotator cuff repair cause glenohumeral joint instability, which results in changes in the glenoid and humerus head. However, limited data are available on the bone change after repair of small- to medium-sized rotator cuff tears. The aim of this study was to evaluate the difference of glenoid and humerus bone changes between healing and retear groups after repair of small- to medium-sized rotator cuff tears. Methods: Among patients who had arthroscopic repair due to small- to medium-sized rotator cuff tears from January 2009 to January 2017, 49 patients who underwent both preoperative and postoperative (at least 3 years after surgery) shoulder computed tomography were enrolled. Using three-dimensional reconstruction program (3D Slicer) and shape analysis program (SlicerSALT), we compared the occurrence and degree of glenoid bone change, glenoid inclination change, retroversion change, and glenoid center, as well as the degree of humerus head change, between the healing and retear groups. Results: The occurrence of glenoid bone change was significantly more common in the retear group than in the healing group (p = 0.026). The degree of bone change in the 11-1 o'clock axial plane and 10-8 o'clock, 11-7 o'clock, and 12-6 o'clock coronal plane and the degree of glenoid inclination change were significantly larger in the retear group than the healing group (p = 0.026, p = 0.026, p = 0.026, p = 0.026, and p = 0.014, respectively), but the average value of glenoid bone change in the retear group was within the range of 0.14 to 1.01 mm for each plane. The mean humeral head change was 5.69 ± 3.67 mm increase in the retear group and 1.27 ± 2.02 mm increase in the healing group. Compared with the healing group, the retear group showed statistically significantly increased humeral head change (p < 0.001). Conclusions: There was difference in glenoid and humerus bone change between the healing and retear groups at midterm follow-up after repair of small- to medium-sized tears. However, considering the measurement bias, the difference between the two groups was within the measurement error range.

Long-term application of soil organic amendments (SOA) can improve the formation of soil organic carbon (SOC) pool as well as soil fertility and health of paddy lands. However, the effects of SOA may vary with the input amount and its characteristics. In this work, a descriptive field research was conducted during one cropping season to investigate the responses of various SOC fractions to different long-term fertilization practices in rice fields and their relationships with soil biogeochemical properties and the emission of greenhouse gases (GHG). The field sites included two conventional paddies applied with chemical fertilizer (CF) or CF + rice straw (RS) and six organic agriculture paddies applied with oilseed cake manure (OCM) + wheat straw (WS), cow manure (CM) + WS, or CM + RS. The two paddy soils treated with CM + RS had significantly higher concentrations of recalcitrant to labile C forms, such as loss-on-ignition C (LOIC; 56-73 g kg-1), Walkley-Black C (WBC; 20-25 g kg-1), permanganate oxidizable C (POXC; 835-853 mg kg-1), and microbial biomass carbon (MBC; 133-141 mg kg-1), than soils treated with other SOA. Likewise, long-term application of CM + RS seemed to be the best for regulating soil fertility parameters, such as ammonium (11-141 mg kg-1); phosphate (61-106 mg kg-1); and soluble Ca, K, and Mg (7-10, 0.5-1.2, and 1.9-3.8 mg kg-1, respectively), although the results varied with the location and soil properties of rice fields. Additionally, the two paddy sites had the largest cumulative methane emission (754-762 kg ha-1), seemingly attributed to increased microbial biomass and labile C fractions. The significant correlations of most SOC fractions with soil microbial biomass, trophic factors, and methane emissions were confirmed with multivariate data analysis. It was also possible to infer that long-term SOA application, especially with CM + RS, enhanced interaction in belowground paddy fields, contributing to soil fertility and rice production sustainability. Based on our findings, we suggest the need for analysis of various types of SOC fractions to efficiently manage soil fertility and quality of paddy fields, C sequestration, and GHG emissions.

BACKGROUND: Healing of the tendon itself is not always related to successful clinical outcomes after rotator cuff repair. It was hypothesized that certain radiologic factors affecting clinical outcomes could exist in case of the retear after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (ARCR) and the radiologic factors could help predict clinical process. The purpose of this study was to identify the radiologic factors associated with clinical outcomes of the retear after ARCR. METHODS: Between January 2012 and December 2019, among patients with sufficient footprint coverage for ARCR, 96 patients with Sugaya classification 4 or higher retear on follow-up magnetic resonance imaging were included. The association between clinical outcomes such as American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) score, Constant score and range of motion and radiologic variables such as initial tear dimension, retear dimension, variance of tear dimension, critical shoulder angle, acromial index, and acromiohumeral distance was analyzed. RESULTS: Preoperatively, the ASES and Constant scores were 59.81±17.02 and 64.30±15.27, respectively. And at the last follow-up, they improved to 81.56±16.29 and 78.62±14.16, respectively (p<0.01 and p<0.01). In multiple linear regression analysis, the variance of the mediolateral dimension of tear had statistically significant association with the ASES and Constant scores (p<0.01 and p=0.01). CONCLUSIONS: In patients with the retear after ARCR, the variance in the mediolateral dimension of tear had significantly negative association with the clinical outcomes. This could be considered to be reference as relative criteria and needed more sample and mechanical study.

The intrinsic light-matter characteristics of transition-metal dichalcogenides have not only been of great scientific interest but have also provided novel opportunities for the development of advanced optoelectronic devices. Among the family of transition-metal dichalcogenide structures, the one-dimensional nanotube is particularly attractive because it produces a spontaneous photocurrent that is prohibited in its higher-dimensional counterparts. Here, we show that WS2 nanotubes exhibit a giant shift current near the infrared region, amounting to four times the previously reported values in the higher frequency range. The wall-to-wall charge shift constitutes a key advantage of the one-dimensional nanotube geometry, and we consider a Janus-type heteroatomic configuration that can maximize this interwall effect. To assess the nonlinear effect of a strong field and the nonadiabatic effect of atomic motion, we carried out direct real-time integration of the photoinduced current using time-dependent density functional theory. Our findings provide a solid basis for a complete quantum mechanical understanding of the unique light-matter interaction hidden in the geometric characteristics of the reduced dimension.

Classifying space targets from debris is critical for radar resource management as well as rapid response during the mid-course phase of space target flight. Due to advances in deep learning techniques, various approaches have been studied to classify space targets by using micro-Doppler signatures. Previous studies have only used micro-Doppler signatures such as spectrogram and cadence velocity diagram (CVD), but in this paper, we propose a method to generate micro-Doppler signatures taking into account the relative incident angle that a radar can obtain during the target tracking process. The AlexNet and ResNet-18 networks, which are representative convolutional neural network architectures, are transfer-learned using two types of datasets constructed using the proposed and conventional signatures to classify six classes of space targets and a debris-cone, rounded cone, cone with empennages, cylinder, curved plate, and square plate. Among the proposed signatures, the spectrogram had lower classification accuracy than the conventional spectrogram, but the classification accuracy increased from 88.97% to 92.11% for CVD. Furthermore, when recalculated not with six classes but simply with only two classes of precessing space targets and tumbling debris, the proposed spectrogram and CVD show the classification accuracy of over 99.82% for both AlexNet and ResNet-18. Specially, for two classes, CVD provided results with higher accuracy than the spectrogram.

BACKGROUND: The effect of negative culture on the treatment outcomes of chronic periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) is still controversial. The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether the outcomes of two-stage revision in culture-negative chronic PJI differ from those in culture-positive PJI. METHODS: The patients who received two-stage revisions due to chronic PJI during the period between 2007 and 2017 were retrospectively reviewed. The culture-negative and culture-positive PJI group included 57 cases and 79 cases, respectively. The demographic data, as well as reoperation, mortality, reinfection, and failure rates of each group were evaluated. RESULTS: There was a significant difference in reoperation rate between the two groups for the period from the first-stage surgery to the second-stage revision arthroplasty (p = 0.045). The reoperation rate of the culture-positive group was 25.3% (20/79) whereas that of the culture-negative group was 10.5% (6/57). Among the 136 PJI cases, 97 cases (71.3%) received reimplantation surgery (culture-negative group, 43 cases; culture-positive group, 54 cases). No significant difference was noted between the culture-negative and culture-positive groups with respect to the number of cases that did not undergo reimplantation surgery and the reoperation, reinfection, mortality, and failure rates after two-stage surgery (p > 0.05, all parameters). CONCLUSIONS: The culture outcome had no significant effect on the outcome of the two-stage revision in patients with chronic PJI. The reoperation rate after first-stage surgery was significantly higher in the culture-positive group, but the overall failure rate did not significantly differ in both the groups. The presence of a negative culture might be a good prognostic factor for chronic PJI.

PURPOSE: We aimed to evaluate the efficacy of a self-manufactured prosthesis of antibiotic-loaded acrylic cement (PROSTALAC) spacer with or without cortical strut allograft in infected total elbow arthroplasty. METHODS: Between March 2009 and February 2018, we enrolled 18 patients (mean age, 66.9 years) who underwent 2-stage revision arthroplasty for prosthetic infection following total elbow arthroplasty. After implant removal in the first stage, we performed débridement and PROSTALAC insertion. During the second stage, we performed reimplantation using a cortical strut allograft for patients with a considerably severe bone defect. The mean follow-up period was 34 months (range, 25-60 months), during which we evaluated the Mayo Elbow Performance Score (MEPS), range of motion (ROM), and blood markers. RESULTS: In all 18 patients, infection control was ensured using intravenous (IV) antibiotic therapy for 6 weeks or IV antibiotics for 4 weeks converting to oral antibiotics for 2 weeks following PROSTALAC insertion. The mean visual analog scale score improved from 8 points preoperatively to 2 points postoperatively, and the mean MEPS improved from 32 points preoperatively to 82 points postoperatively (P < .05). The average ROMs at the last follow-up were 9° to 132° from extension to flexion, respectively. Two patients experienced ulnar nerve neuropraxia after surgery, from which they were resolved. Moreover, 2 and 4 patients developed superficial wound infection and triceps insufficiency, respectively, and there was no infection recurrence. CONCLUSION: In the management of elbow prosthetic infection, 2-stage revision arthroplasty using PROSTALAC spacer insertion in the first stage and cortical strut allograft in the second stage for patients with severe bone defect revealed good clinical results and relatively low infection recurrence rates. However, the complication rate is substantial.

Hybrid halide perovskite solar cells have recently attracted substantial attention, mainly because of their high power conversion efficiency. Among diverse variants, (CH3NH3)PbI3 and HC(NH2)2PbI3 are particularly promising candidates because their bandgap well matches the energy range of visible light. Here, we demonstrate that the large nonlinear photocurrent in ß-(CH3NH3)PbI3 and α-HC(NH2)2PbI3 is mostly determined by the intrinsic electronic band properties near the Fermi level, rooted in the inorganic backbone, whereas the ferroelectric polarization of the hybrid halide perovskite is largely dominated by the ionic contribution of the molecular cation. The spatial charge shift upon excitation is attributed to the charge transfer from iodine to lead atoms in the backbone, which is independent of the presence of the cationic molecules. Our findings can serve as a guiding principle for the design of future materials for halide-perovskite solar cells with further enhanced photovoltaic performance.

BACKGROUND: We evaluated the accuracy of a sagittal alignment of tibial component in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) with the sagittal reference line using the preoperative radiograph. METHODS: We evaluated 151 patients who underwent primary TKA with posterior cruciate substituting type implant. For 75 patients, the sagittal reference line using preoperative radiograph (group A) was used, while for 76 patients the sagittal reference using intraoperative fibular shaft line (group B) was used. The parallel line (line S) to the anatomical axis of the tibia in the lateral plain radiograph was used as the sagittal reference. The distance from line S to proximal tibia cutting area and to skin surface 20 cm distal to the cutting area was measured in preoperative radiographs. Next, the distance to the extramedullary guide rod was applied intraoperatively, reflecting the results. The intraoperative fibular shaft line was determined using the connecting line between the tip of fibular head and the lateral malleolus. The postoperative tibial component slope angle and the difference to the target slope angle were compared. RESULTS: The difference to the target angle was 1.8 ± 1.3° in group A, whereas the difference was 2.5 ± 1.4° in group B (p = 0.04). The patients with difference within 3° to the target angle were 78.7% in group A and 61.8% in group B (p = 0.024). CONCLUSION: The sagittal reference line using the preoperative lateral radiograph was helpful as a reference guide for the tibial slope in TKA.

NUCB2/nesfatin-1 known to regulate appetite and energy homeostasis is expressed not only in the hypothalamus, but also in various organs and tissues. Our previous reports also demonstrated that NUCB2/nesfatin-1 was expressed in the reproductive organs, including the ovaries, uterus, and testes of mice. However, it is yet known whether NUCB2/nesfatin-1 is expressed in the oviduct and how its expression is regulated. Therefore, we investigated the expression of NUCB2/nesfatin-1 in the oviduct and its expression is regulated by gonadotropin. Immunohistochemical staining results showed that nesfatin-1 protein was localized in epithelial cells of the oviduct. As a result of quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) and Western blot, NUCB2/nesfatin-1 was detected strongly in the oviducts. During the estrus cycle, NUCB2/nesfatin-1 expression in the oviducts was markedly higher in the proestrus stage than in other estrus stages. In order to elucidate whether the expression of NUCB2 mRNA is controlled by the gonadotropins, we injected PMSG and hCG and measured NUCB2 mRNA level in the oviduct after injection. Its level was increased in the oviduct after PMSG injection, but no significant change after hCG injection. In addition, NUCB2 mRNA levels were markedly reduced after ovariectomy, while recovered after 17ß-estradiol (E2) injection, but not by progesterone (P4). This study demonstrated that NUCB2/nesfatin-1 is highly expressed in the oviduct of mouse and its expression is regulated by E2 secreted by the ovaries. These results suggest that NUCB2/nesfatin-1 expressed by the oviduct may affect the function of the oviduct regulated by the ovaries.

The objective of this retrospective study was to investigate the surgical outcomes of AO/OTA 31 A1-3 trochanteric fractures treated with the new-generation Gamma3 nail with U-Blade (RC) lag screw and to analyze the risk factors related to fixation failure. A total of 318 consecutive patients who underwent cephalomedullary nailing using Gamma3 nail with U-Blade lag screw for trochanteric hip fractures between September 2015 and June 2018 were enrolled. The average age was 80 years and most patients (69%) were women. The mean follow-up was 12.2 months with a minimum of 6 months. 309 (97.2%) showed bony union with a mean time to union of 13.5 ± 8.7 weeks. Cut-out occurred in 2 patients (0.6%) and 7 patients showed excessive collapse (≥15 mm) of the proximal fragment. These 9 patients were assigned to the failure group. The presence of a basicervical fracture component and comminution of the anterior cortex on preoperative 3-D CT showed a significant association with fixation failure, including cut-out, although comminution of the anterior cortex was the only independent risk factor for fixation failure on multivariate logistic regression analysis. Gamma3 nail with U-Blade lag screw showed favorable results for trochanteric hip fractures, with low cut-out rate (0.6%). However, more caution is required in treating trochanteric fractures with a basicervical fracture component and anterior cortex comminution even with this nail.

Magnetic anisotropy often plays a central role in various static and dynamic properties of magnetic materials. In particular, for two-dimensional (2D) van der Waals materials, as inferred from the Mermin-Wagner theorem, it is an essential prerequisite for stabilizing ferromagnetic order. In this work, we carry out first-principles calculations for a CrI3 monolayer and investigate how its magnetic anisotropy is interrelated to adjustable parameters governing the underlying electronic structure. We explore various routes for controlled manipulation of magnetic anisotropy: chemical adsorption, substitutional doping, optical excitation, and charge transfer through a heterostructure. In particular, the vertical stacking of CrI3 and graphene is noteworthy in regard to controlling magnetic anisotropy: the spin anisotropy axis is switchable between the out-of-plane and in-plane directions, which is accompanied by a variation in the anisotropy energy of up to 500%. Our results show the possibility that dynamic control of the anisotropy of the 2D magnet CrI3 may enable the development of an advanced spintronic device with enhanced energy efficiency and high operation speed.
