RESUMO

The investigation of the coagulation activity of factor VIII in persons with different blood groups is important e.g. for a more accurate diagnosis of Willebrand's diseases. The recent study data confirm that lower values of the factor VIII activity are typical of healthy subjects with blood group 0, residing in Saint Petersburg, versus persons with blood groups A, B, and AB. Limits were defined for the permissible fluctuations of the factor VIII activity. With P = 0.95, they are estimated by formula A(n) = m +/- 1.64 omega and their approximate values are as follows: A(n) = 102 +/- 48 for persons with blood group 0, A(n) = 124 +/- 54 for persons with blood groups A, B, and AB.

RESUMO

A single-stage method is used for evaluating factor VIII (fVIII) clotting activity. This method is based on evaluation of activated partial thromboplastin time with fVIII-deficient plasma as the substrate. The activity of fVIII in the plasma is estimated by the graphic analytical method, which is difficult and not sufficiently accurate. An analytical method for estimating the activity of fVIII is validated. The authors prove the adequacy of empirical model used for evaluation of fVIII activity on the basis of results of processing of a vast scope of experimental data. The range of values for this parameter is -6.00 +/- 0.16.

RESUMO

The level of circulating immune complexes (CIC) was measured in 108 hemophilic patients registered at the Republican Center for Hemophilia Treatment. High levels of CIC were detected in hemophilic patients of different age. The concentrations of CIC were higher in adult patients than in children. Formation of immune complexes in the test groups did not go beyond the framework of the physiological process, for the signs of vasculitis, which is an indispensable component of immunocomplex pathology, could not be identified. Higher levels of CIC in adults were related to a greater number of transfusions made throughout the life, particularly if the annual dose of the preparations infused exceeded 10,000 Units of factor VIII or IX. No significant correlation was established between the rise of CIC levels in the patients' serum and the biochemical alterations in liver function, detected in these patients. Therefore, CIC detected by the authors are not specific and lesions of the liver parenchyma in hemophilic patients are not determined by their presence.

RESUMO

The authors propose a principle of a comprehensive approach to the assessment of neuromuscular and hemodynamic disorders in patients with radial neuritis of nontraumatic genesis. It has been established that the integrative parameter of the results of functional studies makes it possible to predict the outcome of the disease and to objectively evaluate the severity of the disease and the adequacy of the rehabilitation treatment.
