RESUMO

The rising of a gas bubble in a surfactant solution is considered within the framework of the rear stagnant cap (r.s.c.) model at low Reynolds number. The adsorption is supposed to be the slowest process in the system. The bubble velocity is predicted to depend on time due to the nonstationary process of surface stagnant zone formation. Various types of bubble behavior are discussed. It is shown which information on the characteristics of adsorption one can extract from the time dependency of the bubble velocity. RESUMO

The results of examination of 101 patients with purulent surgical infection provide evidence of considerable disorders of cell membrane metabolism which correspond to the severity of the disease. Three states of the antioxidant defence system were distinguished: compensated, subcompensated, and decompensated. It is suggested that antioxidant and membrane-stimulating treatment should be applied with consideration for the types of the course followed by the metabolic processes (metabolically latent, lipoperoxidatative, and peroxidative). The clinical effect of the use of antioxidants in 38 patients is shown.

RESUMO

An examination of 89 patients with posttraumatic coagulated hemothorax has shown that the definite roentgen picture corresponds to the characteristic clinical picture of the disease. These clinico-roentgenological signs of coagulated hemothorax are the determining factors in selection of the rational method of treatment. The data obtained show the necessity of early thoracotomy in cases of coagulated posttraumatic hemothorax.

RESUMO

In patients with purulent peritonitis, the severe immunodepression and suppression of proliferative activity of stem elements of hemopoietic tissue stroma were revealed. The effectiveness of the use as an immunomodulator of the preparation "Antilympholin" which has the marked immunostimulating properties is shown.

RESUMO

An experience with treatment of 57 patients with pulmonary bleeding (12 of them being operated upon) has shown advantages of complex therapy with controlled hypotony and filling the bronchi. Resection of the lung is performed after arrest or reduction of bleeding. Such tactics has advantages over emergency operations fulfilled "at the height of bleeding".

RESUMO

Results of the investigation of immunological status in 62 patients with destructive pancreatitis complicated by hepatic insufficiency are presented. An extremely severe degree of immunodepression in the given contingent of patients was shown. It was established that the degree of inhibition of the cellular and humoral immunity in patients with destructive pancreatitis had direct relation to the degree of the functional insufficiency of the liver. A conclusion was made about the necessity to include immunocorrecting measures in the complex therapy.

RESUMO

Methods of extracorporal detoxication hemo- and lymphosorption, intraportal injection of drugs and oxygenated solutions as well as ultraviolet irradiation of auto-blood are included in the routine scheme of treatment of patients with acute pancreatitis. The treatment concerned was used in 77 patients with acute pancreatitis and advanced hepatic insufficiency and resulted in arresting the latter in 43 of the patients. To prevent the development of acute hepatic insufficiency proved to be possible in 20 patients with a destructive form of acute pancreatitis. The intraportal injection of oxygenated solutions against the background of acute experimental pancreatitis contributed to prevention of hypoxia of the liver.
