RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To explore the clinical effect of the tuberculosis (TB) doctor-nurse integration management model METHODS: This study is a retrospective historical cohort study. The clinical data of 180 patients with TB in our hospital from 2019 to 2020 were analyzed retrospectively. In a control group, 90 cases were treated with the traditional medical care model. An observation group of 90 cases received clinical diagnoses, treatments, and nursing under a doctor-nurse integration management model. Comparative analyses between the two groups were conducted on various aspects, including the awareness level of TB prevention and control, medication compliance and patient satisfaction. Comparisons between the two groups were evaluated using independent-sample t-tests or Chi-squared tests RESULTS: Compared with the control group, the knowledge awareness levels of TB prevention and medication compliance in the observation group were significantly higher (p < .05). The appointment waiting times and hospitalization times in the observation group were significantly lower than in the control group (p < .05). The total average satisfaction score of the patients in the observation group was significantly higher than in the control group (p < .05). Compared with the control group, the patients in the observation group were significantly more satisfied with their nursing methods, operating techniques, psychological techniques, service attitudes, and ward management (p < .05). In addition, in the observation group, medical-nursing relationships and doctor-patient communication were better than in the control group; additionally, the satisfaction of doctors with nursing work was also higher than in the control group, which was a statistically significant difference (p < .05) CONCLUSION: The implementation of an integrated medical-nursing cooperation model for TB will help increase the awareness of health knowledge in patients with TB, improve patient medication compliance and enhance patient satisfaction.

RESUMO

Human amniotic epithelial cells (hAECs), derived from the innermost layer of the term placenta closest to the fetus, have been shown to be potential seed cells for allogeneic cell therapy. Previous studies have shown a certain therapeutic effect of hAECs. However, no appropriate isolation and culture system for hAECs has been developed for clinical applications. In the present study, we established a serum-free protocol for hAEC isolation and cultivation, in which better cell growth was observed compared with that in a traditional culture system with serum. In addition to specific expression of cell surface markers (CD29, CD166 and CD90), characterization of the biological features of hAECs revealed expression of the pluripotent markers SSEA4, OCT4 and NANOG, which was greater than that in human mesenchymal stem cells, whereas very low levels of HLA-DR and HLA-DQ were detected, suggesting the weak immunogenicity of hAECs. Intriguingly, CD90+ hAECs were identified as a unique population with a powerful immunoregulatory capacity. In a systemic safety evaluation, intravenous administration of hAEC did not result in hemolytic, allergy, toxicity issues or, more importantly, tumorigenicity. Finally, the therapeutic effect of hAECs was demonstrated in mice with radiation-induced damage. The results revealed a novel function of hAECs in systemic injury recovery. Therefore, the current study provides an applicable and safe strategy for hAEC cell therapy administration in the clinical setting.

RESUMO

In April-October, 2009, a field experiment was conducted to study the effects of drip irrigation with plastic mulching (MD) on the net primary productivity (NPP), soil heterotrophic respiration (Rh) , and net CO2 exchange flux (NEF(CO2)) of cotton field ecosystem in Xinjiang, taking the traditional flood irrigation with no mulching (NF) as the control. With the increasing time, the NPP, Rh, and NEF(CO2) in treatments MD and NF all presented a trend of increasing first and decreased then. As compared with NF, MD increased the aboveground and belowground biomass and the NPP of cotton, and decreased the Rh. Over the whole growth period, the Rh in treatment MD (214 g C x m(-2)) was smaller than that in treatment NF (317 g C x m(-2)), but the NEF(CO2) in treatment MD (1030 g C x m(-2)) was higher than that in treatment NF (649 g C x m(-2)). Treatment MD could fix the atmospheric CO2 approximately 479 g C x m(-2) higher than treatment NF. Drip irrigation with plastic mulching could promote crop productivity while decreasing soil CO2 emission, being an important agricultural measure for the carbon sequestration and emission reduction of cropland ecosystems in arid area.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To study whether the primary ovarian cancer cells containing cancer stem cells and its characterization in serum-free culture condition. METHODS: The primary cancer cells were isolated from one stage III, grade 2 serous adenocarcinoma tissue. Cells were cultured in serum-free culture system supplemented with epidermal growth factor, basic fibroblast growth factor, leukemia inhibitory factor and insulin, or standard serum-containing system. Methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium assay, quantitative PCR analysis, flow-cytometric analysis and xenograft experiments in vivo were performed. RESULTS: The primary cancer cells could maintain and form cell sphere in serum-free culture system. These cells had the properties of self-renewal, overexpression of stem cell marker genes Nanog, Oct-4, Sox-2, nestin, ABCG2, CD(133) and CD(117). By contrast with the differentiated cells under standard serum-containing culture conditions, these sphere-forming cells were more resistant to cisplatin and paclitaxel after treated 48 and 72 hours (61% vs. 31%, 73% vs. 29%, P < 0.05). With Hoechst 33342 exclusion assay, only 21.83% of sphere-forming cells were positive with the dye, compared with 83.04% positive cells in differentiated cells (P < 0.01). Only 500 sphere-forming cells resulted subcutaneous xenograft tumors. All of these xenografts were categorized as serous adenocarcinomas, overexpression of CA(125) and cytokeratin-7 which were original tumor phenotype of ovarian cancer. CONCLUSION: The sphere-forming cells isolated from primary ovarian cancer tissues have the characterization of cancer stem cell and may be a more reliable model system for understanding the biology of primary human tumors.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To analysis compositions of the volatile oil in Origanum vulgare. METHODS: GC-MS condition: using programmed temperature gas chromatography cinitial temperature was 60 degrees C, and then raising the temperature (5 degrees C/min) to 240 degrees C, mass-to-electric charge ratio was 10 to 425. RESULTS: GC-MS identified 29 kinds of contents. CONCLUSION: Thymol and carvacrol are main compositions of the volatile oil in Origanum vulgare.
