RESUMO

A new synthetic method for preparing highly calibrated CsPbBr3 nanocrystal perovskites is described and analyzed using high-resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy. This new method based on soft chemistry leads to the large-scale production of nanocrystals. Such monodisperse nanocrystals allow for the deposition of homogeneous films, which provides new opportunities for the next generation of optoelectronic devices.

RESUMO

Polyoxothiometalate ions (ThioPOM) are active hydrogen-evolution reaction (HER) catalysts based on modular assembly built from electrophilic clusters {MoSx } and vacant polyoxotungstates. Herein, the dumbbell-like anion [{(PW11 O39 )Mo3 S4 (H2 O)3 (OH)}2 ]8- exhibits very high light-driven HER activity, while the active cores {Mo3 S4 } do not contain any exposed disulfido ligands, which were suspected to be the origin of the HER activity. Moreover, in the catalyst architecture, the two central {Mo3 S4 } cores are sandwiched by two {PW11 O39 }7- subunits that act as oxidant-resistant protecting groups and behave as electron-collecting units. A detailed photophysical study was carried out confirming the reductive quenching mechanism of the photosensitizer [Ir(ppy)2 (dtbbpy)]+ by the sacrificial donor triethanolamine (TEOA) and highlighting the very high rate constant of the electron transfer from the reduced photosensitizer to the ThioPOM catalyst. Such results provide new insights into the field of molecular catalytic systems able to promote high HER activity.

RESUMO

A tris-cyclometalated iridium complex that bears two ligands functionalized by peripheral carbazole groups combines an intense solid state emission and a significant two-photon absorption cross section in the near-infrared. After incorporation into a physiological micellar suspension, it can be used for the intravital two-photon fluorescence microscopy of cerebral vasculature.

RESUMO

In the present paper, the photoredox catalysis is presented as a unique approach in the field of photoinitiators of polymerization. The principal photocatalysts already reported as well as the typical oxidation and reduction agents used in both reductive or oxidative cycles are gathered. The chemical mechanisms associated with various systems are also given. As compared to classical iridium-based photocatalysts which are mainly active upon blue light irradiation, a new photocatalyst Ir(piq)2(tmd) (also known as bis(1-phenylisoquinolinato-N,C (2'))iridium(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-3,5-heptanedionate) is also proposed as an example of green light photocatalyst (toward the long wavelength irradiation). The chemical mechanisms associated with Ir(piq)2(tmd) are investigated by ESR spin-trapping, laser flash photolysis, steady state photolysis, cyclic voltammetry and luminescence experiments.

RESUMO

New π-conjugated structures are constantly the subject of research in dyes and pigments industry and electronic organic field. In this context, the triphenodioxazine (TPDO) core has often been used as efficient photostable pigments and once integrated in air stable n-type organic field-effect transistor (OFET). However, little attention has been paid to the TPDO core as soluble materials for optoelectronic devices, possibly due to the harsh synthetic conditions and the insolubility of many compounds. To benefit from the photostability of TPDO in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs), an original synthetic pathway has been established to provide soluble and dissymmetric molecules applied to a suitable design for the sensitizers of DSC. The study has been pursued by the theoretical modeling of opto-electronic properties, the optical and electronic characterizations of dyes and elaboration of efficient devices. The discovery of new synthetic pathways opens the way to innovative designs of TPDO for materials used in organic electronics.

RESUMO

The first reported combination of regioselective hydro-defluorination and a ligand exchange reaction during the syntheses of neutral iridium(III) complexes is presented. Surprisingly, loss of one fluorine atom per ligand combined with a complete ligand exchange reaction on the transition metal were jointly observed during a bridge-splitting and substitution reaction of two different dimeric iridium(III) precursor complexes with two different ancillary ligands. The regioselectivity of defluorination was evidenced in both cases. The reaction time was identified as a factor strongly impacting the kinetics of the thermally induced reaction.

RESUMO

A new class of heteroacenes containing B, N and S elements in the 22-electron aromatic nucleus has been synthesized by reaction of diaminoterthiophenes with dichlorophenylborane. Their structure was studied by X-ray crystallography and DFT calculations. UV-Vis absorption /emission spectroscopy shows high rigidity and deep-blue fluorescence of these compounds.
