RESUMO

Aspartyl dipeptidase (dipeptidase E) can hydrolyze Asp-X dipeptides (where X is any amino acid), and the enzyme plays a key role in the degradation of peptides as nutrient sources. Dipeptidase E remains uncharacterized in Streptomyces. Orf2 from Streptomyces sp. 139 is located in the exopolysaccharide biosynthesis gene cluster, which may be a novel dipeptidase E with "S134-H170-D198" catalytic triad by sequence and structure comparison. Herein, recombinant Orf2 was expressed in E. coli and characterized dipeptidase E activity using the Asp-ρNA substrate. The optimal pH and temperature for Orf2 are 7.5 and 40 ℃; Vmax and Km of Orf2 are 0.0787 mM·min-1 and 1.709 mM, respectively. Orf2 exhibits significant degradation activities to Asp-Gly-Gly, Asp-Leu, Asp-His, and isoAsp-Leu and minimal activities to Asp-Pro and Asp-Ala. Orf2 contains a Ser-His-Asp catalytic triad characterized by point mutation. In addition, the Asp147 residue of Orf2 is also proven to be critical for the enzyme's activity through molecular docking and point mutation. Transcriptome analysis reveals the upregulation of genes associated with ribosomes, amino acid biosynthesis, and aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis in the orf2 mutant strain. Compared with the orf2 mutant strain and WT, the yield of crude polysaccharide does not change significantly. However, crude polysaccharides from the orf2 mutant strain exhibit a wider range of molecular weight distribution. The results indicate that the Orf2 links nutrient stress to secondary metabolism as a novel dipeptidase E. KEY POINTS: • A novel dipeptidase E with a Ser-His-Asp catalytic triad was characterized from Streptomyces sp. 139. • Orf2 was involved in peptide metabolism both in vitro and in vivo. • Orf2 linked nutrient stress to mycelia formation and secondary metabolism in Streptomyces.

One previously undescribed alkaloid, named penifuranone A (1), and three known compounds (2-4) were isolated from the mangrove endophytic fungus Penicillium crustosum SCNU-F0006. The structure of the new alkaloid (1) was elucidated based on extensive spectroscopic data analysis and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Four natural isolates and one new synthetic derivative of penifuranone A, compound 1a, were screened for their antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory activities. Bioassays revealed that penifuranone A (1) exhibited strong anti-inflammatory activity in vitro by inhibiting nitric oxide (NO) production in lipopolysaccharide-activated RAW264.7 cells with an IC50 value of 42.2 µM. The docking study revealed that compound 1 exhibited an ideal fit within the active site of the murine inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), establishing characteristic hydrogen bonds.

BACKGROUND: Phosphorus plays a key role in plant adaptation to adversity and plays a positive role in the yield and quality formation of apples. Genes of the SPX domain-containing family are widely involved in the regulation of phosphorus signalling networks. However, the mechanisms controlling phosphorus deficiency are not completely understood in self-rooted apple stock. RESULTS: In this study, 26 members of the apple SPX gene family were identified by genome-wide analysis, and further divided into four subfamilies (SPX, SPX-MFS, SPX-EXS, and SPX-RING) based on their structural features. The chromosome distribution and gene duplications of MdSPXs were also examined. The promoter regions of MdSPXs were enriched for multiple biotic/abiotic stresses, hormone responses and typical P1BS-related elements. Analysis of the expression levels of 26 MdSPXs showed that some members were remarkably induced when subjected to low phosphate (Pi) stress, and in particular MdSPX2, MdSPX3, and MdPHO1.5 exhibited an intense response to low Pi stress. MdSPX2 and MdSPX3 showed significantly divergent expression levels in low Pi sensitive and insensitive apple species. Protein interaction networks were predicted for 26 MdSPX proteins. The interaction of MdPHR1 with MdSPX2, MdSPX3, MdSPX4, and MdSPX6 was demonstrated by yeast two-hybrid assay, suggesting that these proteins might be involved in the Pi-signaling pathway by interacting with MdPHR1. CONCLUSION: This research improved the understanding of the apple SPX gene family and contribute to future biological studies of MdSPX genes in self-rooted apple stock.

Chemodynamic therapy (CDT) is a non-invasive strategy for generating reactive oxygen species (ROS) and is promising for cancer treatment. However, increasing ROS in tumor therapy remains challenging. Therefore, exogenous excitation and inhibition of electron-hole pair recombination are attractive for modulating ROS storms in tumors. Herein, a Ce-doped BiFeO3 (CBFO) piezoelectric sonosensitizer to modulate ROS generation and realize a synergistic mechanism of CDT/sonodynamic therapy and piezodynamic therapy (PzDT) is proposed. The mixed Fe2+ and Ce3+ can implement a circular Fenton/Fenton-like reaction in the tumor microenvironment. Abundant ·OH can be generated by ultrasound (US) stimulation to enhance CDT efficacy. As a typical piezoelectric sonosensitizer, CBFO can produce O2 - owing to the enhanced polarization by the US, resulting in the motion of charge carriers. In addition, CBFO can produce a piezoresponse irradiated upon US, which accelerates the migration rate of electrons/holes in opposite directions and results in energy band bending, further achieving toxic ROS production and realizing PzDT. Density functional theory calculations confirmed that Ce doping shortens the diffusion of electrons and improves the conductivity and catalytic activity of CBFO. This distinct US-enhanced strategy emphasizes the effects of doping engineering and piezoelectric-optimized therapy and shows great potential for the treatment of malignant tumors.

In crustaceans, the steroid hormone 20-hydroxyecdysone (20E) initiates molting, and the molting process is also regulated by energy metabolism. AMPK is an energy sensor and plays a critical role in systemic energy balance. Here, the regulatory mechanism in the interaction between 20E and AMPK was investigated in Chinese mitten crab, Eriocheir sinensis. The results showed that the 20E concentration and the mRNA expression levels of 20E receptors in hepatopancreas were down-regulated post AMPK activator (AICAR) treatment, and were up-regulated after AMPK inhibitor (Compound C) injection in crabs. Besides, the molt-inhibiting hormone (MIH) gene expression in eyestalk showed the opposite patterns in response to the AICAR and Compound C treatment, respectively. Further investigation found that there was a significant reduction in 20E concentration post PI3K inhibitor (LY294002) treatment, and the phosphorylation level of PI3K was increased in hepatopancreas after AMPK inhibitor injection. On the other hand, the positive regulation of PI3K-mediated activation of AMPK was also observed, the phosphorylation levels of AMPKα, AMPKß and PI3K in hepatopancreas were significantly increased post 20E injection. In addition, the phosphorylation levels of AMPKα and AMPKß induced by 20E were decreased after the injection of PI3K inhibitor. Taken together, these results suggest that the regulatory cross-talk between 20E and AMPK is likely to act through PI3K pathway in E. sinensis, which appeared to be helpful for a better understanding in molting regulation.

BACKGROUND: Adolescent major depressive disorder (MDD) is a significant mental health concern that often leads to recurrent depression in adulthood. Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) offers unique insights into the neural mechanisms underlying this condition. However, despite previous research, the specific vulnerable brain regions affected in adolescent MDD patients have not been fully elucidated. AIM: To identify consistent vulnerable brain regions in adolescent MDD patients using rs-fMRI and activation likelihood estimation (ALE) meta-analysis. METHODS: We performed a comprehensive literature search through July 12, 2023, for studies investigating brain functional changes in adolescent MDD patients. We utilized regional homogeneity (ReHo), amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations (ALFF) and fractional ALFF (fALFF) analyses. We compared the regions of aberrant spontaneous neural activity in adolescents with MDD vs healthy controls (HCs) using ALE. RESULTS: Ten studies (369 adolescent MDD patients and 313 HCs) were included. Combining the ReHo and ALFF/fALFF data, the results revealed that the activity in the right cuneus and left precuneus was lower in the adolescent MDD patients than in the HCs (voxel size: 648 mm3, P < 0.05), and no brain region exhibited increased activity. Based on the ALFF data, we found decreased activity in the right cuneus and left precuneus in adolescent MDD patients (voxel size: 736 mm3, P < 0.05), with no regions exhibiting increased activity. CONCLUSION: Through ALE meta-analysis, we consistently identified the right cuneus and left precuneus as vulnerable brain regions in adolescent MDD patients, increasing our understanding of the neuropathology of affected adolescents.

While disgust originates in the hard-wired mammalian distaste response, the conscious experience of disgust in humans strongly depends on subjective appraisal and may even extend to socio-moral contexts. Here, in a series of studies, we combined functional magnetic resonance imaging with machine-learning-based predictive modelling to establish a comprehensive neurobiological model of subjective disgust. The developed neurofunctional signature accurately predicted momentary self-reported subjective disgust across discovery (n = 78) and pre-registered validation (n = 30) cohorts and generalized across core disgust (n = 34 and n = 26), gustatory distaste (n = 30) and socio-moral (unfair offers; n = 43) contexts. Disgust experience was encoded in distributed cortical and subcortical systems, and exhibited distinct and shared neural representations with subjective fear or negative affect in interoceptive-emotional awareness and conscious appraisal systems, while the signatures most accurately predicted the respective target experience. We provide an accurate functional magnetic resonance imaging signature for disgust with a high potential to resolve ongoing evolutionary debates.

Cardiovascular health metrics are now widely recognized as modifiable risk factors for cognitive decline and dementia. Metabolic perturbations might play roles in the linkage of cardiovascular diseases and dementia. Circulating metabolites profiling by metabolomics may improve understanding of the potential mechanism by which cardiovascular risk factors contribute to cognitive decline. In a prospective community-based cohort in China (n = 725), 312 serum metabolic phenotypes were quantified, and cardiovascular health score was calculated including smoking, exercise, sleep, diet, body mass index, blood pressure, and blood glucose. Cognitive function assessments were conducted in baseline and follow-up visits to identify longitudinal cognitive decline. A better cardiovascular health was significantly associated with lower risk of concentration decline and orientation decline (hazard ratio (HR): 0.84-0.90; p < 0.05). Apolipoprotein-A1, high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, cholesterol ester, and phospholipid concentrations were significantly associated with a lower risk of longitudinal memory and orientation decline (p < 0.05 and adjusted-p < 0.20). Mediation analysis suggested that the negative association between health status and the risk of orientation decline was partly mediated by cholesterol ester and total lipids in HDL-2 and -3 (proportion of mediation: 7.68-8.21%, both p < 0.05). Cardiovascular risk factors were associated with greater risks of cognitive decline, which were found to be mediated by circulating lipoproteins, particularly the medium-size HDL components. These findings underscore the potential of utilizing lipoproteins as targets for early stage dementia screening and intervention. BACKGROUND: Rapid and accurate detection of glutathione content in human blood plays an important role in real-time tracking of related diseases. Currently, surface-enhanced Raman scattering/spectroscopy (SERS) combined with nanozyme material has been proven to have excellent properties in the detection applications compared to many other methods because of it combines the advantages of trace detection capability of SERS and efficient catalytic activity of nanozymes. However, there are still existing problems in real sample detection, and to achieve quantitative detection is still challenging. RESULTS: In this study, gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) were synthesized in situ on the surface of two-dimensional Cu-porphyrin metal-organic framework (MOF) nanosheets to produce the AuNPs@Cu-porphyrin MOF nanozyme, which exhibited both oxidase-like activity and SERS detection ability. On one hand, the intrinsic oxidase-like activity of the nanozyme could be inhibited due to the chelation of glutathione (GSH) and Cu, which thus led to the visual color change of the solution. On the other hand, the abundant Raman "hot spots" at the nanogap generated by Au NPs and the internal standard (IS) signal provided by Cu-meso-tetra (4-carboxyphenyl) porphine (Cu-TCPP) MOF improved the sensitivity and quantitative accuracy of detection. SIGNIFICANCE AND NOVELTY: A dual-mode signal output sensor based on the nanozyme was thus established, which could be used in the trace detection of GSH. Such a dual-mode sensor possesses excellent detection performance, with the advantage of both wide detection range from 1 to 300 µM in the colorimetric detection mode and high sensitivity with LOD of 5 nM in the SERS detection mode, and can be applied to GSH detection in actual serum samples with reliable results.

Ground-level ozone has long posed a substantial menace to human well-being and the ecological milieu. The widely reported manganese-based catalysts for ozone decomposition still facing the persisting issues encompass inefficiency and instability. To surmount these challenges, we developed a mesoporous silica thin films with perpendicular nanochannels (SBA(⊥)) confined Mn3O4 catalyst (Mn3O4@SBA(⊥)). Under a weight hourly space velocity (WHSV) of 500,000 mL g-1 h-1, the Mn3O4@SBA(⊥) catalyst exhibited 100% ozone decomposition efficiency in 5 h and stability across a wide humidity range, which exceed the performance of bulk Mn3O4 and Mn3O4 confine in commonly reported SBA-15. Rapidly decompose 20 ppm O3 to a safety level below 100 µg m-3 in the presence of dust in smog chamber (60 × 60 × 60 cm) was also realized. This prominent catalytic performance can be attributed to the unique confined structure engenders the highly exposed active sites, facilitate the reactant-active sites contact and impeded the water accumulation on the active sites. This work offers new insights into the design of confined structure catalysts for air purification.

The utilization of carbon-based fibers as a fundamental constituent holds strong appeal for diverse materials and devices. However, the poor fiber graphitic structure resulting from the heat treatment of atactic polyacrylonitrile (PAN) precursors often leads to a modest performance of carbon-based fibers. This paper takes electrospun carbon nanofibers (CNFs) as the research object and provides a seed-assisted graphitization strategy to improve the fiber graphitic structures. The typical melamine/cyanuric acid self-assembly precursor of graphitic carbon nitride is applied as supramolecular seeds in CNFs and demonstrates significant promotion of fiber graphitization, while it decomposes at elevated temperatures. Further studies show that the higher carbon content contributes to the better heat resistance of seeds; thus, nanoscale 2,6-diaminopyridine/cyanuric acid and 2,4,6-triaminopyrimidine/barbituric acid supramolecular seeds are developed. Both systems can be uniformly distributed in PAN precursors through in situ self-assembly and withstand high-temperature carbonization without severe pyrolysis. The dispersed seeds contribute to the formation of fibrillar PAN crystals and promote their conversion to ordered graphitic domains through nucleation and templating roles. The obtained CNFs exhibit increased crystallinity and graphitization degree with improved orientation and refined size of fiber crystals. As a result, the strength, modulus, and elongation at break of CNFs are comprehensively enhanced.

BACKGROUND: Pulmonary emphysema is a condition that causes damage to the lung tissue over time. GBP5, as part of the guanylate-binding protein family, is dysregulated in mouse pulmonary emphysema. However, the role of GBP5 in lung inflammation in ARDS remains unveiled. METHODS: To investigate whether GBP5 regulates lung inflammation and autophagy regulation, the study employed a mouse ARDS model and MLE-12 cell culture. Vector transfection was performed for the genetic manipulation of GBP5. Then, RT-qPCR, WB and IHC staining were conducted to assess its transcriptional and expression levels. Histological features of the lung tissue were observed through HE staining. Moreover, ELISA was conducted to evaluate the secretion of inflammatory cytokines, autophagy was assessed by immunofluorescent staining, and MPO activity was determined using a commercial kit. RESULTS: Our study revealed that GBP5 expression was altered in mouse ARDS and LPS-induced MLE-12 cell models. Moreover, the suppression of GBP5 reduced lung inflammation induced by LPS in mice. Conversely, overexpression of GBP5 diminished the inhibitory impact of LPS on ARDS during autophagy, leading to increased inflammation. In the cell line of MLE-12, GBP5 exacerbates LPS-induced inflammation by blocking autophagy. CONCLUSION: The study suggests that GBP5 facilitates lung inflammation and autophagy regulation. Thus, GBP5 could be a potential therapeutic approach for improving ARDS treatment outcomes, but further research is required to validate these findings.

Mainstream partial denitrification anammox was achieved through inoculation of side-stream mature partial nitritation anammox biofilm without domestication. The contribution of anammox to nitrogen removal was 29.4 %. Moreover, prolonging anoxic hydraulic retention time and introducing side-stream nitrite under different carbon/nitrogen ratios enriched anammox bacteria. The abundance of anammox bacteria increased by âˆ¼ 10 times ((2.19 ± 0.17) × 1012 copies gene / g dry sludge) with a total relative abundance of 18.51 %. During 258 days of operation, the contribution of anammox to nitrogen removal gradually increased to 68.8 %. The total nitrogen in the effluent decreased to 8.84 mg/L with a total nitrogen removal efficiency of 76.4 % under a carbon/nitrogen ratio of 3. This paper proposes a novel way to rapidly achieve mainstream partial denitrification anammox via inoculation with side-stream mature partial nitritation anammox biofilm. This method achieves advanced nitrogen removal from municipal wastewater, even under low carbon/nitrogen ratios.

Two-dimensional single crystal metals, in which the behavior of highly confined optical modes is intertwined with quantum phenomena, are highly sought after for next-generation technologies. Here, we report large area (>104 µm2), single crystal two-dimensional gold flakes (2DGFs) with thicknesses down to a single nanometer level, employing an atomic-level precision chemical etching approach. The decrease of the thickness down to such scales leads to the quantization of the electronic states, endowing 2DGFs with quantum-confinement-augmented optical nonlinearity, particularly leading to more than two orders of magnitude enhancement in harmonic generation compared with their thick polycrystalline counterparts. The nanometer-scale thickness and single crystal quality makes 2DGFs a promising platform for realizing plasmonic nanostructures with nanoscale optical confinement. This is demonstrated by patterning 2DGFs into nanoribbon arrays, exhibiting strongly confined near infrared plasmonic resonances with high quality factors. The developed 2DGFs provide an emerging platform for nanophotonic research and open up opportunities for applications in ultrathin plasmonic, optoelectronic and quantum devices.

BACKGROUND: Education has been recognised as necessary in forming and internalising professional values. The system and instructors' content in existing educational institutions focus on developing students' knowledge, skills and practices. Still, the development of values has yet to achieve significant effects, leading to a crisis in students' professional identity. AIMS: To construct a professional values growth theory for undergraduate nursing students and develop a corresponding education framework. METHODS: Through the review, some databases(PubMed、CINAHL、Web of Science、Wiley and Google Scholars)were searched using a systematic search strategy to collect relevant literature on professional values education. Based on the nursing professional values growth theory (Li and Li, Nursing Ethics In press, 2022), a theory of professional values growth of nursing undergraduates was developed using the method of theory derivation. Two rounds of expert meetings were conducted to review and revise an education framework of professional values of nursing undergraduates derived from that theory. FINDINGS: A total of 10 studies were included. The contents of two themes were analysed: theories and models and the current status of the professional values development of nursing students. The resulting professional values growth theory for undergraduate nursing students consists of five parts: key aspects, decisive opportunities, drivers, embodiment (humanistic sentiments, moral emotions), and outcomes. A total of five experts in the relevant fields were invited to this study. After two rounds of expert meetings, an education framework for undergraduate nursing students was finally developed, which consists of four parts: education objectives, education process and content, environment and conditions, and evaluation. CONCLUSION: The education framework developed in this study has practical implications for the development of professional values of undergraduate nursing students, providing educational strategies and methods for the growth and internalisation of professional values of undergraduate nursing students.

Sepsis-induced acute kidney injury (S-AKI) is the most common type of acute kidney injury (AKI), accompanied by elevated morbidity and mortality rates. This study investigated the mechanism by which lipid droplets (LDs) degraded via autophagy (lipophagy)required for RAB7 regulated ferroptosis in the pathogenesis of S-AKI. Here, we constructed the S-AKI model in vitro and in vivo to elucidate the potential relationship of lipophagy and ferroptosis, and we first confirmed that the activation of lipophagy promoted renal tubular epithelial cell ferroptosis and renal damage in S-AKI. The results showed that lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induced a marked increase in lipid peroxidation and ferroptosis, which were rescued by ferrstain-1 (Fer-1), an inhibitor of ferroptosis. In addition, LPS induced the remarkable activation of RAB7-mediated lipophagy. Importantly, silencing RAB7 alleviated LPS-induced lipid peroxidation and ferroptosis. Thus, the present study demonstrated the potential significant role of ferroptosis and lipophagy in sepsis-induced AKI, and contributed to better understanding of the pathogenesis and treatment targets of AKI.

This study developed a novel organic-inorganic hybrid composite, shortly as GO-PEG-LDHs, by self-assembly of exfoliated Mg-Al layer double hydroxide (LDHs) on the polyethylene glycol (PEG) grafted graphene oxide (GO) to achieve the selective adsorption of hemoglobin (Hb). The prepared GO-PEG-LDHs has a hierarchical structure with a homogeneous loading of exfoliated LDHs nano-sheets on its surface. The adsorption test reveals that GO-PEG-LDHs exhibits an adsorption efficiency of 95.03% for Hb and 3.45% for bovine serum albumin (BSA). The adsorption of Hb follows the Langmuir model, with an ultrahigh adsorption capacity of 55248.6 mg/g, which is higher than any previously reported materials. Meanwhile, the adsorbed Hb can be efficiently recovered through elution with a 50 mM Tris-HCl buffer, with an elution efficiency of 80.77%. Circular dichroism (CD) spectra indicate no conformational change for Hb during the process of adsorption/desorption. Furthermore, the composite demonstrates the ability to selectively isolate Hb in the presence of interfering protein BSA, indicating its potential for practical applications.

RESUMO

DNA nanomaterials have been widely employed for various biomedical applications. With rapid development of chemical modification of nucleic acid, serials of stimuli-responsive elements are included in the multifunctional DNA nanomaterials. In this review, we summarize the recent advances in light responsive DNA nanomaterials based on photocleavage/photodecage, photoisomerization, and photocrosslinking for efficient bioimaging (including imaging of small molecule, microRNA, and protein) and drug delivery (including delivery of small molecule, nucleic acid, and gene editing system). We also discuss the remaining challenges and future perspectives of the light responsive DNA nanomaterials in biomedical applications.

Autistic individuals generally demonstrate impaired emotion recognition but it is unclear whether effects are emotion-specific or influenced by oxytocin receptor (OXTR) genotype. Here we implemented a dimensional approach using an implicit emotion recognition task together with functional MRI in a large cohort of neurotypical adult participants (N = 255, male = 131, aged 17-29 years) to establish associations between autistic traits and neural and behavioral responses to specific face emotions, together with modulatory effects of OXTR genotype. A searchlight-based multivariate pattern analysis (MVPA) revealed an extensive network of frontal, basal ganglia, cingulate and limbic regions exhibiting significant predictability for autistic traits from patterns of responses to angry relative to neutral expression faces. Functional connectivity analyses revealed a genotype interaction (OXTR SNPs rs2254298, rs2268491) for coupling between the orbitofrontal cortex and mid-cingulate during angry expression processing, with a negative association between coupling and autistic traits in the risk-allele group and a positive one in the non-risk allele group. Overall, results indicate extensive emotion-specific associations primarily between patterns of neural responses to angry faces and autistic traits in regions processing motivation, reward and salience but not in early visual processing. Functional connections between these identified regions were not only associated with autistic traits but also influenced by OXTR genotype. Thus, altered patterns of neural responses to threatening faces may be a potential biomarker for autistic symptoms although modulatory influences of OXTR genotype need to be taken into account.

BACKGROUND: Nursing professional values are the foundation of nursing practice. There has been no research to develop an instrument to measure professional values in nursing based on intermediate conceptual measurement theory. OBJECTIVES: To develop an ICM-based measurement tool for the nursing professional values of undergraduate students. DESIGN: A cross-sectional study. METHODS: The Nursing Professional Values-Intermediate Conceptual Measurement (NPV-ICM) was developed using the steps of Cunningham's process to generate questionnaire items. The tool was devised in three stages: identifying the intermediate concepts, developing stories reflecting the intermediate concepts and setting up options for action and justification in the stories and setting up scoring criteria for the measurement tool. The tool was tested through internal consistency reliability, content validity and calibration correlation validity. RESULTS: This study resulted in five nursing professional values situational stories containing five themes (care, altruism, responsibility, respect and justice) respectively. Each situational story contained a varying number of action options and justification options, totalling 72 Richter 5 level options and 20 ranked items. Reliability and validity were found to be good, with a total Cronbach's α of 0.93 and Cronbach's α of 0.75-0.80 for each situational story and calibrated correlational validity was found to correlate significantly between the total Nursing Professional Values Scale Revised (NPVS-R) scores and the NPV-ICM. CONCLUSIONS: The NPV-ICM created in this study possesses high reliability and validity. It alters the values perception research, moving from abstract conceptual measurements to measurements of particular values actions and justifications for participation in activities. And the study presents preliminary evidence supporting the reliability of the NVP-ICM as a measure of professional values.
