Diffusion aluminum coating is crucial to protect aero-engine turbine blades from high-temperature oxidation. Slurry aluminizing, as a commonly-used coating preparation technology, has variations in the process parameters that directly affect the quality of the coating. Therefore, this paper investigates the effect of slurry thickness on coating quality. Different forms of aluminized coatings were obtained by coating nine DZ22B nickel-based superalloy plates of the same size with different slurry thicknesses while keeping other parameters constant. These aluminized coatings were characterized using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) with an energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS), an X-ray diffractometer (XRD), and a surface gauge. The results show that the AlNi phase dominates the matrix of the aluminized coating, and the outer layer of the coating has white dotted precipitates of Cr. As the slurry thickness increases, the coating thickness increases, and the proportion of the outer layer in the overall coating increases. In contrast, the thickness of the interdiffusion layer does not change significantly. The thicker the slurry, the higher the Al content of the coating surface. A medium-thickness slurry can form a smooth aluminizing coating with a roughness Ra < 4.5 µm surface. The combined results show that a medium-thick slurry can produce a high-quality coating.

The Mo-12Si-8.5B alloy was surface-remelted by laser and electron beam, and the microstructure of its melt pool and substrate regions were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and energy spectrometry (EDS) techniques. It was found that the composition of the surface phases in the Mo-12Si-8.5B alloy did not change by the high-energy beam surface remelting process, but the microstructure of the molten pool region was significantly different from that of the substrate region, and its phase distribution was more uniform. Dendrites appeared on the surface of the material under the action of both processes, and the Si- and B-rich phases were mainly gathered in the interdendritic region. In the melt pool of the laser-remelted specimens, the α-Mo phase was continuously distributed with an average dendrite length of 70 µm, while the α-Mo phase distribution in the melt pool of the electron beam remelted specimens were relatively concentrated, with a larger dendrite size and an average dendrite length of 120 µm. The dendrite size in the melt pool of the laser remelted material was smaller, and the distribution of the elements was relatively uniform. Using a laser beam as the heat source was more favorable for the next step of the additive manufacturing of the core parts of hypersonic vehicles.

Flexible and wearable electronic sensors hold great promise for improving the quality of life, especially in the field of healthcare monitoring, owing to their low cost, flexibility, high electromechanical coupling performance, high sensitivity, and biocompatibility. To achieve high piezoelectric performance similar to that of rigid materials while satisfying the flexible requirements for wearable sensors, we propose novel hybrid films based on lead zirconate titanate powder and microfibrillated cellulose (PZT/MFC) for plantar pressure measurements. The flexible films made using the polarization process are tested. It was found that the maximum piezoelectric coefficient was 31 pC N-1 and the maximum tensile force of the flexible films was 26 N. A wide range of bending angles between 15° and 180° proves the flexibility capability of the films. In addition, the charge density shows a proportional relation with the applied mechanical force, and it could sense stress of 1 kPa. Finally, plantar pressure sensors are arranged and packaged with a film array followed by connection with the detection module. Then, the pressure curves of each point on the plantar are obtained. Through analysis of the curve, several parameters of human body motions that are important in the rehabilitation of diabetic patients and the detection of sports injury can be performed, including stride frequency, length and speed. Overall, the proposed PZT/MFC wearable plantar pressure sensor has broad application prospects in the field of sports injury detection and medical rehabilitation training.

Molybdenum silicon boron alloy is regarded as the next generation of superalloy that is expected to replace nickel-based superalloys. However, the high-temperature oxidation resistance of Mo-Si-B alloy has always been an issue worth studying. In this study, Mo-9Si-8B alloy was prepared via a plasma oscillatory pressure sintering process and pre-oxidized at 1300 °C while maintaining a certain balance of mechanical and oxidation properties. The influence of the oxide protective layer on its performance at high temperature of 1150 °C was explored, the micro-mechanism of its performance and its failure mode of the hinge-locking mechanism was illustrated, and finally, its oxidation kinetics was inferred. In conclusion, pre-oxidized Mo-9Si-8B (at.%) alloy did play a role in delaying the oxidation process during the initial period of cyclic oxidation. However, with the increase of cyclic oxidation time, the improvement of high-temperature oxidation resistance was limited.

Laser repairing and plasma arc repairing experiments on the single-crystal Ni-based superalloy DD407(Ni-7.82Cr-5.34Co-2.25Mo-4.88W-6.02Al-1.94Ti-3.49Ta in wt.%) were carried out in this paper, and the differences in microstructures and mechanical properties varying with depth between the two repairing methods were studied. Comparing the two repairing processes, both the fusion zone can maintain single-crystal epitaxial growth with no significant cracks and have similar fine γ' precipitates. Nevertheless, the columnar-to-equiaxed transition phenomenon occurred on the top of the fusion zone during the laser re-melting process but was not very obvious on the top surface of the fusion zone during the plasma arc re-melting process. In addition, both the DD407 superalloy conducted with the two repairing processes had a large microhardness and a great Young's modulus in the fusion zone.

In this paper, the modified multi-walled carbon nanotubes were prepared by ß-cyclodextrin denoted as ß-CD-MWNTs. The structure and morphology of ß-CD-MWNTs was characterized by TEM and the dynamic adsorption of p-nitrophenol on ß-CD-MWNTs was studied by the Thomas model. Some affecting factors of dynamic adsorption and the adsorbent regeneration process such as the sewage concentration, the amount of absorbent in column, including the type of reagent, solid-liquid ratio, regeneration time, and regeneration times were investigated and optimized. The results indicated that the p-nitrophenol removal rate could reach 84% under stuffing 2 g ß-CD-MWNTs. The curves of p-nitrophenol's dynamic adsorption conformed to the Thomas model. Moreover, the adsorption capacity of regenerated ß-CD-MWNTs was similar to the fresh ß-CD-MWNT column. The optimal conditions of regenerations of ß-CD-MWNTs were shown as follows: the type of reagent is anhydrous ethanol, the solid-liquid ratio is 200:40 (mg/mL) and the regeneration time is 120 min.
