RESUMO
Silicon (Si)-based anodes offer high theoretical capacity for lithium-ion batteries but suffer from severe volume changes and continuous solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) degradation. Here, we address these challenges by selective methylation of 1,3-dioxolane (DOL), thus shifting the unstable bulk polymerization to controlled interfacial reactions and resulting in a highly elastic SEI. Comparative studies of 2-methyl-1,3-dioxolane (2MDOL) and 4-methyl-1,3-dioxolane (4MDOL) reveal that 4MDOL, with its larger ring strain and more stable radical intermediates due to hyperconjugation effect, promotes the formation of high-molecular-weight polymeric species at the electrode-electrolyte interface. This elastic, polymer-rich SEI effectively accommodates volume changes of Si and inhibits continuous side reactions. Our designed electrolyte enables Si-based anode to achieve 85.4% capacity retention after 400 cycles at 0.5 C without additives, significantly outperforming conventional carbonate-based electrolytes. Full cells also demonstrate stable long-term cycling. This work provides new insights into molecular-level electrolyte design for high-performance Si anodes, offering a promising pathway toward next-generation lithium-ion batteries with enhanced energy density and longevity.
RESUMO
OBJECTIVE: Percutaneous pedicle screw fixation (PPSF) technique requires a very precise entry point of the Jamshidi needle, which leads to repeated adjustments, damaging the pedicle and increasing radiation exposure. This study was designed to propose an improved percutaneous pedicle screw fixation technique-trajectory dynamic adjustment (TDA) technique, and evaluate its feasibility and assess the clinical outcomes. METHOD: A total of 445 patients with lumbar spondylolisthesis or lumbar spinal stenosis associated with instability from June 2017 to May 2022 were included in the retrospective study. They were randomly separated into two groups. Two hundred thirty-one patients underwent TDA technique (TDA group). Two hundred fourteen patients underwent traditional PPSF technique (PPSF group). All patients underwent postoperative CT to assess the accuracy of screw placement, superior facet joint violation (FJV). The evaluated clinical outcomes were needle insertion time, radiation exposure, blood loss, hospital stay, the Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) score, the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) scores for lower back pain (LBP), and leg pain, lumbar interbody fusion rate, and postoperative complications. The independent-sample t test and paired t-test were used for continuous data. The contingency table and Mann-Whitney U test were used for categorical data. RESULTS: The time of the insertion in TDA group was significantly lower than that in PPSF group (p < 0.05). Similarly, the fluoroscopy frequency in TDA group was significantly lower than that in PPSF group (p < 0.05). There was no difference in intraoperative blood loss and hospital stay between the two groups (p > 0.05). Overall, there was no significant difference in the proportion of clinically acceptable screws between the two groups (p > 0.05). In addition, the lateral screw misplacement in TDA group was higher. Moreover, FJV rate was significantly lower than that in PPSF group (p < 0.05). In both TDA group and PPSF group, postoperative back and leg pain and the JOA score were significantly improved (p < 0.05). However, there were no significant differences in the pre- and postoperative VAS score for back and leg pain and the JOA score, JOA recovery rate, intervertebral fusion rate, and complications rate between the two groups (p > 0.05). CONCLUSION: Compared to traditional PPSF technique, TDA technique is a safer and more effective procedure which has shorter surgical time, lower radiation exposure, and lower facet joint violation rate.
RESUMO
Sepsis-associated acute liver injury (ALI) is a deadly condition resulting from a systemic inflammatory response to liver cell damage and malfunction. Monotropein (MON) belongs to the iris group of compounds extracted from the natural product Mollen dae officinalis radix, which has strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant pharmacological effects. The purpose of this study was to elucidate the underlying mechanism of MON in the treatment of sepsis ALI. In this study, an in vivo caecal ligation puncture (CLP)-induced ALI model and in vitro LPS-stimulated AML12 cells and RAW264.7 cells model were established. Additionally, a variety of experimental techniques, including CCK8, H&E staining, DHE probe labelling, biochemical, QPCR, and Western blotting and blocking tests, were used to explore the role of MON in ALI. The results showed that MON improved liver morphological abnormalities, oedema, histopathological injury, and elevated ALT and AST, providing a protective effect against ALI. MON reduced CYP2E1 expression, alleviated oxidative stress (downregulation of MDA levels and upregulation of GSH, CAT, and T-AOC levels) and ROS accumulation with the involvement of the NRF2-Keap-1 pathway. MON inhibited inflammation via the TLR4/NF-κB/NLRP3 inflammasome pathway. In addition, it activated the Akt (Ser473)/GSK3ß (Ser9)/Fyn pathway and accelerated NRF2 nuclear accumulation; MK-2206 blockade reversed the NRF2 nuclear accumulation and anti-inflammatory function of MON. MON also restricted the mitochondrial apoptosis pathway, a process specifically blocked by MK-2206. In summary, we concluded that MON alleviated septic ALI by restricting oxidative stress, inflammation, and apoptosis via the AKT (Ser473)/GSK3ß (Ser9)/Fyn/NRF2 pathway.

Research on state anxiety has long been dominated by the traditional psychometric approach that assumes anxiety symptoms have a common cause. Yet state anxiety can be conceptualized as a network system. In this study, we utilized data from the COVID-Dynamic dataset from waves 7 to 13, collected at three-week intervals from June 6, 2020, to October 13, 2020, and included 1,042 valid participants to characterize the internal dynamics of state anxiety. Using the Gaussian graphical model along with strength centrality, we estimated three network models of state anxiety. The between-subjects and contemporaneous network showed numerous positive relations between items and some unexpected negative relations. Three communities were identified in the between-subjects network, and two communities were identified in the contemporaneous network. The temporal network showed the coexistence of positive and negative predictions between items after three weeks. Several items exhibited significant positive autocorrelations after three weeks. These findings have implications for anxiety theory and clinical interventions at between-subjects and within-subjects levels.
RESUMO
The electrochemical conversion of carbon dioxide (CO2) to valuable chemicals is gaining significant attention as a pragmatic solution for achieving carbon neutrality and storing renewable energy in a usable form. Recent research increasingly focuses on designing electrocatalysts that specifically convert CO2 into ethanol, a desirable product due to its high-energy density, ease of storage, and portability. However, achieving high-efficiency ethanol production remains a challenge compared to ethylene (a competing product with a similar electron configuration). Existing electrocatalytic systems often suffer from limitations such as low energy efficiency, poor stability, and inadequate selectivity toward ethanol. Inspired by recent progress in the field, this review explores fundamental principles and material advancements in CO2 electroreduction, emphasizing strategies for ethanol production over ethylene. We discuss electrocatalyst design, reaction mechanisms, challenges, and future research directions. These advancements aim to bridge the gap between current research and industrialized applications of this technology.
RESUMO
BACKGROUND: Childhood sexual abuse (CSA) is one type of childhood trauma that has long-term effects on physical and mental health, predisposing to social anxiety. OBJECTIVE: This study attempted to investigate the characteristics of different subgroups of social anxiety among youths with CSA experiences. PARTICIPANTS AND SETTING: 83,219 participants were recruited in a cross-sectional study from 63 colleges and universities in Jilin Province, China. METHODS: The main variables were measured by a series of self-report questionnaires. Latent profile analysis was used to classify different subgroups of social anxiety, and multiple logistic regression was employed to investigate factors influencing transitions between different subgroups. RESULTS: 3022 (3.63 %) youths who suffered from CSA (46.8 % were male, Mage = 19.57, SD = 1.76) could be divided into four subgroups of social anxiety: low-risk social anxiety (16.4 %), medium-risk social anxiety with high public speaking anxiety (30.3 %), medium-risk social anxiety with no prominent characteristics (22.9 %), and high-risk social anxiety (30.4 %). Shy bladder and bowel and virtual life orientation increased the level of social anxiety from low to medium and high risk. Smoking and drinking were more prevalent in the low- and medium-risk subgroups than in the high-risk subgroup. CONCLUSIONS: There was heterogeneity in different subgroups of social anxiety among youths with CSA experiences. Potential targeted prevention and intervention suggestions could be beneficial in mitigating the risk of social anxiety and further preventing the aggravation of risk between subgroups.

Substituting nitrogen with inert gases in an inert gas cycle engine can not only effectively improve engine efficiency but also eliminate NOX emissions in the combustion products. Owing to the low density of hydrogen, jet development is affected by buoyancy. This study explored the effects of different ambient gases, such as Ar, N2, and He, as well as buoyancy, on the hydrogen jet and mixing characteristics based on Schlieren. The results indicated that as the pressure ratio increases, the penetration length and volume of the hydrogen jet increase, whereas the dispersion angle and entrainment ratio decrease. The penetration capacity of the hydrogen jet is strongest in He, followed by N2, and weakest in Ar. Additionally, in He, the hydrogen jet exhibits the smallest dispersion angle, fastest jet volume growth, and largest entrainment ratio. The entrainment ratio of the H2 jet in He is 2.75-3.84 times that of N2 and 4.72-8.3 times that of Ar. In N2 and Ar, the penetration length of the inverted jet after 2.5 ms is approximately 2-4 mm longer than that of the upright jet, indicating that buoyancy has a certain influence on jet development.
RESUMO
The surface morphology of titanium metal is an important factor affecting its hydrophilicity and biocompatibility, and exploring the surface treatment strategy of titanium metal is an important way to improve its biocompatibility . In this study , titanium (TA4) was firstly treated by large particle sand blasting and acid etching (SLA) technology, and then the obtained SLA-TA4 was treated by single surface treatments such as alkali-heat, ultraviolet light and plasma bombardment. According to the experimental results, alkali-heat treatment is the best treatment method to improve and maintain surface hydrophilicity of titanium. Then, the nanowire network morphology of titanium surface and its biological property, formed by further surface treatments on the basis of alkali-heat treatment, were investigated. Through the cell adhesion experiment of mouse embryonic osteoblast cells (MC3T3-E1), the ability of titanium material to support cell adhesion and cell spreading was investigated after different surface treatments. The mechanism of biological activity difference of titanium surface formed by different surface treatments was investigated according to the contact angle, pit depth and roughness of the titanium sheet surface. The results showed that the SLA-TA4 titanium sheet after a treatment of alkali heat for 10 h and ultraviolet irradiation for 1 h has the best biological activity and stability. From the perspective of improving surface bioactivity of medical devices, this study has important reference value for relevant researches on surface treatment of titanium implantable medical devices.

Herein we report the first synthesis of a tetrabenzotetrathia[8]circulene by a "fold-in" type oxidative fusion reaction. Compared to the pristine tetrathia[8]circulene, the four-fold benzoannulation slightly weakened the antiaromatic character of the central COT ring. The tetrabenzotetrathia[8]circulene exhibited fluorescence at room temperature, and phosphorescence at 77 K with a phosphorescence quantum yield of 11.7%.
RESUMO
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a common chronic disease affecting humans globally. It is characterized by abnormally elevated blood glucose levels due to the failure of insulin production or reduction of insulin sensitivity and functionality. Insulin and glucagon-like peptide (GLP)-1 replenishment or improvement of insulin resistance are the two major strategies to treat diabetes. Recently, optogenetics that uses genetically encoded light-sensitive proteins to precisely control cell functions has been regarded as a novel therapeutic strategy for diabetes. Here, we summarize the latest development of optogenetics and its integration with synthetic biology approaches to produce light-responsive cells for insulin/GLP-1 production, amelioration of insulin resistance and neuromodulation of insulin secretion. In addition, we introduce the development of cell encapsulation and delivery methods and smart bioelectronic devices for the in vivo application of optogenetics-based cell therapy in diabetes. The remaining challenges for optogenetics-based cell therapy in the clinical translational study are also discussed.

BACKGROUND: Suicidality was very high among individuals who suffered from childhood trauma. The distribution of cumulative childhood trauma among youths remains unclear, as well as the specific effects of cumulative childhood trauma on suicidality. This study attempted to explore the distribution of cumulative childhood trauma and examine the specific effects of cumulative childhood trauma on suicidality. METHODS: A cross-sectional design was employed in this study, with 117,769 college students recruited from 63 universities in Jilin Province, China. All variables were measured by corresponding self-report questionnaires. The Venn diagram was used to represent the distribution of single and cumulative childhood trauma. ANOVA and chi-square tests were conducted to identify the high-risk suicide groups. Multiple linear regression analysis was performed to examine risk factors for suicidality for overlapping subtypes. RESULTS: 27,671 (23.5%) participants reported suffering from childhood trauma, of which 49.5% were male (Mage = 19.59, SD = 1.76). The "physical neglect" group accounted for the largest proportion (31.5%). Suicidality was the highest in the "overlap of childhood neglect, emotional abuse, and physical abuse" group (2.0%). Depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder were common risk factors for suicidality. LIMITATIONS: This study was limited by cross-sectional studies and self-report bias. CONCLUSIONS: The childhood trauma subtype group with the largest proportion was not necessarily the highest suicidality. Both the largest group and the highest-risk suicide group require special attention to their respective risk factors.

Uncontrollable zinc (Zn) plating and hydrogen evolution greatly undermine Zn anode reversibility. Previous electrolyte designs focus on suppressing H2O reactivity, however, the accumulation of alkaline byproducts during battery calendar aging and cycling still deteriorates the battery performance. Here, we present a direct strategy to tackle such problems using a strong Brønsted acid, bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (HTFSI), as the electrolyte additive. This approach reformulates battery interfacial chemistry on both electrodes, suppresses continuous corrosion reactions and promotes uniform Zn deposition. The enrichment of hydrophobic TFSI- anions at the Zn|electrolyte interface creates an H2O-deficient micro-environment, thus inhibiting Zn corrosion reactions and inducing a ZnS-rich interphase. This highly acidic electrolyte demonstrates high Zn plating/stripping Coulombic efficiency up to 99.7% at 1 mA cm-2 ( > 99.8% under higher current density and areal capacity). Additionally, Zn | |ZnV6O9 full cells exhibit a high capacity retention of 76.8% after 2000 cycles.
RESUMO
Existing literature has reported negative parental attitudes toward LGBTQ+ individuals associated with their LGBTQ+ identity concealment and mental well-being. However, limited research has explored the dynamic network changes using intensive, repeated weekly diary data. This study aimed to model the associations between perceived parental attitude, anxiety, depression, and LGBTQ+ individuals' identity concealment within dynamic network analysis (DNA); 103 LGBTQ+ youth participated in the study. Participants' perceived parental attitudes toward LGBTQ+ identity and LGBTQ+ identity concealment, depression (by the 9-item Patient Health Questionnaire), and anxiety (by the 7-item Generalized Anxiety Disorder Questionnaire) were measured. Each was assessed four times at 1-week intervals for four consecutive weeks. The graphical vector autoregression explored the DNA of the internal relationships among perceived parental attitudes, identity concealment, depression, and anxiety. Findings in the between-subjects network revealed that poor perceived parental attitudes toward sexual and gender minorities were positively associated with depression, anxiety, and identity concealment. The contemporaneous network showed that the "expression" (one's identity concealment) was the direct trigger of "suicide" (one's depressive symptom), indicating depression was initiated earlier and subsequently exacerbated a sequence of other psychiatric reactions. The temporal network indicated that only parents' "general attitude" reduced participants' concealment ("self-disclosure"), which simultaneously stimulated mental benefits.

Background: This study assesses the psychometric properties of the Chinese version of the Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (C-ZTPI-20) in an adolescent population. Methods: The investigation encompasses a sample of 2634 middle school students from China and aims to evaluate the instrument's reliability, structural validity, measurement invariance, criterion validity, and network structure attributes. Results: First, descriptive analysis revealed satisfactory reliabilities for four out of five C-ZTPI-20 dimensions, with Present Fatalistic (PF) exhibiting relatively low reliability. Moreover, Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) supported the 5-dimensional structure across all samples and sexes, albeit with a modest Tucker-Lewis Index (TLI) for girls. Furthermore, measurement invariance analysis underscores unbiased assessment across sexes. Sex differences emerge in the Present Hedonistic (PH) dimension, where boys showed higher scores. Furthermore, criteria validity analysis revealed that Past Positive (PP) and Future (F) were positively associated with extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, openness, grit, and mental health, while they were negatively associated with neuroticism. Past Negative (PN) and PF showed inverse trends, while PH perspective demonstrated complex, varied correlations with these psychological traits, underscoring the multifaceted nature of time perspectives. Finally, network analysis revealed positive inter-correlations within dimensions and significant edge differences between sexes, particularly in inter-dimension connections. Despite differing rankings, the most central and marginal items remained consistent between boys and girls in network models. Conclusion: These findings contribute to understanding the C-ZTPI-20's effectiveness in assessing adolescent time perspectives and inform interventions promoting psychological well-being and coping strategies.
RESUMO
This paper focuses on moving-target detection and tracking in a three-dimensional (3D) space, and proposes a visual target tracking system only using a two-dimensional (2D) camera. To quickly detect moving targets, an improved optical flow method with detailed modifications in the pyramid, warping, and cost volume network (PWC-Net) is applied. Meanwhile, a clustering algorithm is used to accurately extract the moving target from a noisy background. Then, the target position is estimated using a proposed geometrical pinhole imaging algorithm and cubature Kalman filter (CKF). Specifically, the camera's installation position and inner parameters are applied to calculate the azimuth, elevation angles, and depth of the target while only using 2D measurements. The proposed geometrical solution has a simple structure and fast computational speed. Different simulations and experiments verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
RESUMO
PURPOSE: To introduce the clinical outcomes of adductor longus and sartorius muscle transfer alone and combined application for reconstruction of the inguinal region. METHODS: This is a retrospective study of patients between January 2019 and December 2022 who underwent adductor longus flap transfer, sartorius muscle flap transfer, and combined transfer of adductor longus and sartorius muscle. The demographic data and surgical details were recorded. RESULTS: Sixteen patients were included, with a mean age of 57.5 years. Nine patients performed adductor longus flap transfers, three patients performed sartorius muscle flap transfers, and four patients performed combined transfers. The average operation time was 238 min. The average length of stay was 6.7 days. The average follow-up period was 9.6 months (range 6-16). The overall early postoperative complication rate was 12.5% (one patient had excessive wound exudation and one patient had a wound infection). No delayed postoperative complications occurred during the follow-up. CONCLUSION: The sartorius muscle flap, the adductor longus flap, and the combined application are suitable techniques for inguinal region reconstruction under different conditions. The combined application of the two flaps can fill the dead space and cover the neurovascular bundle efficaciously.

This study performed a cross-cultural validation of the Chinese version of the 10-item Social Provisions Scale (C-SPS-10) in Chinese populations. Study 1 examined the factor structure, internal reliability, discrimination, criterion validity, and network structure of C-SPS-10 by utilizing a sample of disaster victims in the 2021 Henan floods. Study 2 substantiated the findings of Study 1 in a general population sample. Measurement invariances between populations and between sexes in terms of the C-SPS-10 were also tested using the network approach. Study 3 used three samples to examine the test-retest reliability of the C-SPS-10 over three different time periods. The general results showed that the C-SPS-10 has excellent factor structure, internal reliability, discrimination, and criterion validity. The C-SPS-10 was confirmed to have good psychometric properties. Although the full scale functions well, problems may exist at a domain level. Moreover, the full scale of the C-SPS-10 was varied as a useful tool to capture trait-like characteristics of individuals' perceptions of social support for the general population. RESUMO
Using psychological network analysis, this study explored the heterogeneity of the network structure between extracurricular time-use and delinquency using a nationally representative longitudinal survey of at-school students in China (N = 10,279, 47.3% female, average age 13.6, 91.2% Han ethnicity). The results are threefold: First, time stimulation of activities occurs on weekdays, while time displacement and stimulation occur on weekends. Second, delinquent behaviors are positively correlated, forming a problem behavior syndrome. Smoking or drinking is the central delinquent behavior. Third, negative consequences of specific time-use behaviors are more likely to occur on weekends than on weekdays, and time-use behavior may function differently on weekdays versus weekends. Among them, going to coffeenets or game-centers serves as the bridge with the highest potential of triggering delinquency.

Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are a type of regulatory molecule with potential roles in the development of several different malignancies. However, the underlying mechanisms of lncRNAs in colorectal cancer (CRC) are incompletely understood. The present study investigated the molecular mechanism of LINC02038 in CRC. LINC02038 expression was decreased in CRC tissues compared to the paracancerous tissues and LINC02038 overexpression markedly reduced the proliferation, vitality, migration and invasive ability and greatly accelerated apoptosis of colorectal cancer cells. Bioinformatics examination indicated that LINC02038 may have targeted microRNA (miR)5525p. RNA immunoprecipitation and luciferase reporter assays showed that LINC02038 served as a sponge for miR5525p, hindering target gene FAM172A of miR5525p degradation. Moreover, methylated RNA immunoprecipitation (MeRIP)qualitative PCR assays revealed that YTHDF2 could identify and regulate the METTL3mediated LINC02038 N6methyladenosine (m6A) modification and increase its degradation, thereby promoting CRC progression via the PI3K/AKT pathway. Based on the CRC clinical specimens, it was shown that LINC02038 was negatively associated with lymphatic metastasis and distant metastasis. These results revealed that m6A/LINC02038/miR5525p/FAM172A may be a novel antitumor axis and LINC02038 may serve as a biomarker and treatment option for colorectal cancer.
