RESUMO
The structures of previously reported oleoacteoside and oleoechinacoside, both being caffeoyl phenylethanoid glycosides (acteoside, echinacoside) esterified with an oleoside 11-methyl ester, were revised by 2D-NMR spectral analysis.

Five new glycosides, quercetin 3'-O-beta-D: -galactopyranoside (1), quercetin 3-O-(2''-acetyl)-beta-D: -glucopyranoside (2), 4,6-dihydroxy-2-methoxyphenyl 1-O-beta-D: -glucopyranoside (3), 4-hydroxy-2,6-dimethoxyphenyl 1-O-alpha-L: -rhamnopyranosyl (1 --> 6)-beta-D: -glucopyranoside (4) and 3-methyl-but-2-en-1-yl beta-D: -glucopyranosyl (1 --> 6)-beta-D: -glucopyranoside (5), were isolated from Hypericum erectum Thunb. Their structures were established on the basis of spectral and chemical data.

Twenty-two known constituents, including four xanthones, nine flavonoids and nine phenolic glycosides, were isolated from Hypericum erectum Thunb. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectral evidence.

Four enantiomerically pure new alpha-tetralones, (4S)- and (4R)-5-hydroxy-4-methoxy-alpha-tetralones and (4S)- and (4R)-5,8-dihydroxy-4-methoxy-alpha-tetralones were isolated, together with five known ones, (4S)- and (4R)-4,8-dihydroxy-alpha-tetralones, (4S)-4,8-dihydroxy-5-methoxy-alpha-tetralone and (4S)- and (4R)-4-hydroxy-alpha-tetralones, from the fruit of Juglans mandshurica MAXIM. var. sieboldiana MAKINO. Their structures were established on the basis of spectral analysis. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first isolation of the (4R)-4-hydroxy-alpha-tetralone derivative from Juglans species.
