RESUMO
RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to develop a deep learning (DL)-based model for detecting and diagnosing cerebral aneurysms in clinical settings, with and without human assistance. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The DL model was trained using data from 3829 patients across 11 clinical centers and tested on 484 patients from three institutions. Image interpretations were conducted by 10 radiologists (four junior, six senior), the DL model alone, and a combination of radiologists with the DL model. Time spent on post-processing and reading was recorded. The analysis of the area under the curve (AUC), sensitivity, and specificity for the above-mentioned three reading modes was performed at both the lesion and patient levels. RESULTS: Combining the DL model with radiologists reduced image interpretation time by 37.2% and post-processing time by 90.8%. With DL model assistance, the AUC increased from 0.842 to 0.881 (P = 0.008) for junior radiologists (JRs) and from 0.853 to 0.895 (P < 0.001) for senior radiologists (SRs). With DL model assistance, sensitivity significantly improved at both lesion (JR: 68.9% to 81.6%, P = 0.011; SR: 72.4% to 83.5%, P < 0.001) and patient levels (JR: 76.2% to 86.9%, P = 0.011; SR: 80.1% to 88.2%, P < 0.001). Specificity at the patient level showed improvement (JR: 82.6% to 82.7%, P = 0.005; SR: 82.6% to 86.1%, P = 0.021). CONCLUSIONS: The DL model enhanced radiologists' diagnostic performance in detecting cerebral aneurysms, especially for JRs, and expedited the workflow.
RESUMO
BACKGROUND: Previous studies have suggested a potential link between the crown-to-root ratio (CRR) and root morphology in patients with mild chronic periodontitis, which may be associated with tooth mobility. However, these findings have not been thoroughly investigated. Our previous study found that 76% of patients with aggressive periodontitis, particularly those with premolar involvement, exhibited abnormal root morphology, severe alveolar bone loss, and increased tooth mobility, leading to poor clinical outcomes. This study aims to investigate the specific correlations among alveolar bone resorption, root morphology, CRR, and periodontal clinical indicators with premolar mobility in stage III/IV grade C periodontitis patients aged ≤ 35 years. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 1,064 premolars from 151 stage III/IV grade C periodontitis patients aged ≤ 35 years were included in the study. Clinical periodontal parameters and radiographic measurements were recorded. Logistic regression analysis was used to explore the relationships between these indicators and tooth mobility. RESULTS: Significant variations in premolar root lengths were observed, ranging from 6.80 mm to 20.96 mm. Teeth with shorter roots (mean length: 10.22 mm) exhibited grade I mobility with only 28% alveolar bone resorption, whereas those with medium-length (mean length: 12.67 mm) and longer roots (mean length: 14.91 mm) exhibited mobility at 34% and 37% bone resorption, respectively. Regression models incorporating the bone-level CRR, average probing depth, and root length demonstrated strong predictive accuracy for tooth mobility (P < 0.001, AIC = 1700.574). CONCLUSION: Premolar mobility is influenced by variations in root length, alveolar bone resorption, and probing depth. The bone-level CRR is an effective predictor for assessing tooth mobility, especially when there are differences in root length and alveolar bone resorption.

The purpose of this study is to develop a nomogram model for early prediction of the severe mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (SMPP) in Pediatric and Adult Patients. A retrospective analysis was conducted on patients with MPP, classifying them into SMPP and non-severe MPP (NSMPP) groups. A total of 550 patients (NSMPP 374 and SMPP 176) were enrolled in the study and allocated to training, validation cohorts. 278 patients (NSMPP 224 and SMPP 54) were retrospectively collected from two institutions and allocated to testing cohort. The risk factors for SMPP were identified using univariate analysis. For radiomic feature selection, Spearman's correlation and the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) were utilized. Logistic regression was used to build different models, including clinical, imaging, radiomics, and integrated models (combining clinical, imaging, and radiomics features selected). The model's discrimination was evaluated using a receiver operating characteristic curve, its calibration with a calibration curve, and the results were visualized using the Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness-of-fit test. Thirteen clinical features and fourteen imaging features were selected for constructing the clinical and imaging models. Simultaneously, a set of twenty-five radiomics features were utilized to build the radiomics model. The integrated model demonstrated good calibration and discrimination in the training cohorts (AUC, 0.922; 95% CI: 0.900, 0.942), validation cohorts (AUC, 0.879; 95% CI: 0.806, 0.920), and testing cohorts (AUC, 0.877; 95% CI: 0.836, 0.916). The discriminatory and predictive efficacy of the clinical model in testing cohorts increased further after clinical and radiological features were incorporated (AUC, 0.849 vs. 0.922, P = 0.002). The model demonstrated exemplary predictive efficacy for SMPP by leveraging a comprehensive set of inputs, encompassing clinical data, quantitative and qualitative radiological features, along with radiomics features. The integration of these three aspects in the predictive model further enhanced the performance of the clinical model, indicating the potential for extensive clinical applications.

Satellite-based Quantitative Precipitation Estimates (QPE) are indirect estimates of precipitation rates and as such are often prone to errors, warranting a need for characterizing the associated uncertainties before being used in application-specific studies. Moreover, multiple satellite-based QPE products are offered through different agencies, each with their own specifications, formats and requirements, posing a challenge to understanding the products uncertainties. This manuscript presents a standardized validation system named NPreciSe - NOAA Satellite-based Precipitation Validation System, which assesses the performance of satellite-based precipitation products in near real-time over the continental United States. NPreciSe is coupled with a user-interactive web platform and built using an open-source software, Python. It is structured to help (1) the end-users determine the best satellite QPE for their specific application, and (2) the algorithm developers identify systematic biases in QPE retrievals. This manuscript presents the capabilities of the NPreciSe, discusses the methodology adopted in developing the standardized validation system, and introduces the web portal.
RESUMO
INTRODUCTION: Periodontitis is a chronic multifactorial inflammatory disease which eventually lead to tooth loss (TL). Therefore, a retrospective study was conducted to evaluate the status of tooth survival within 11 years after non-surgical periodontal treatment (NSPT) and to analyze the risk factors especially crown-root ratio (CRR) that affected TL in Chinese with advanced periodontitis. METHODS: 3481 teeth of 131 subjects who underwent NSPT were examined retrospectively within a mean follow-up period of 11.6 years. The association of risk factors including clinical and radiographic parameters with TL was assessed using univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses. Smooth curve fitting and segmented regression model were conducted to show the nonlinear relationship and the threshold effect between CRR and the risk of TL. RESULTS: 347 teeth were lost in 97 patients in this study. Male, diabetes mellitus, heavy-smoker, molar, probing depth (PD), attachment loss (AL), bleeding on probing (BOP), tooth mobility, and radiographic bone loss were significantly associated with tooth loss (P < 0.05). A nonlinear relationship between CRR and the risk of TL was found, with different turning point values between molars and non-molars (1.9 vs. 2.76). CONCLUSIONS: The findings based on practice-based clinical and radiographic data do suggest a nonlinear relationship between CRR and the survival of teeth, and provide evidence to help clinicians to determine the prognosis of teeth for patients with advanced periodontitis. CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Based on clinical and radiographic data, this study provides an individualized basis for clinicians to judge the dental prognosis of patients with advanced periodontitis according to the different tooth sites.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) refers to long-term medical conditions that involve inflammation of the digestive tract, and the global incidence and prevalence of IBD are on the rise. Gut microbes play an important role in maintaining the intestinal health of the host, and the occurrence, development, and therapeutic effects of IBD are closely related to the structural and functional changes of gut microbes. Published studies have shown that the natural products from traditional Chinese medicine have direct or indirect regulatory impacts on the composition and metabolism of the gut microbes. In this review, we summarize the research progress of several groups of natural products, i.e., flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, polysaccharides, polyphenols, and terpenoids, for the therapeutic activities in relieving IBD symptoms. The role of gut microbes and their intestinal metabolites in managing the IBD is presented, with focusing on the mechanism of action of those natural products. Traditional Chinese medicine alleviated IBD symptoms by regulating gut microbes, providing important theoretical and practical basis for the treatment of variable inflammatory intestinal diseases.

For small non-hibernating mammals, a high thermogenic capacity is important to increase activity levels in the cold. It has been previously reported that lactating females decrease their thermogenic activity of brown adipose tissue (BAT), whereas their capacity to cope with extreme cold remains uncertain. In this study we examined food intake, body temperature and locomotor behavior, resting metabolic rate, non-shivering thermogenesis, and cytochrome c oxidase activity, and the rate of state 4 respiration of liver, skeletal muscle, and BAT in striped hamsters (Cricetulus barabensis) at peak lactation and non- breeding hamsters (controls). The lactating hamsters and non- breeding controls were acutely exposed to -15°C, and several markers indicative of thermogenic capacity were examined. In comparison to non-breeding females, lactating hamsters significantly increased food intake and body temperature, but decreased locomotor behavior, and the BAT mass, indicative of decreased BAT thermogenesis at peak lactation. Unexpectedly, lactating hamsters showed similar body temperature, resting metabolic rate, non-shivering thermogenesis with non-breeding females after acute exposure to -15°C. Furthermore, cytochrome c oxidase activity of liver, skeletal muscle and BAT, and serum thyroid hormone concentration, and BAT uncoupling protein 1 expression, in lactating hamsters were similar with that in non-breeding hamsters after acute extreme cold exposure. This suggests that lactating females have the same thermogenic capacity to survive cold temperatures compared to non-breeding animals. This is particularly important for females in the field to cope with cold environments during the period of reproduction. Our findings indicate that the females during lactation, one of the highest energy requirement periods, do not impair their thermogenic capacity in response to acute cold exposure.

The excited-state proton transfer (ESPT) reaction between anthracen-2-yl-3-phenylurea (PUA) derivatives and tetrabutylammonium acetate (TBAAc) in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) solvent was theoretically investigated using time-dependent density functional theory. The electron-donating methoxy group (OMe) and electron-withdrawing trifluoromethyl group (CF3) were bonded to 2PUA to form OMe-2PUA and CF3-2PUA, respectively. Two hydrogen bonds formed in the 1 : 1 hydrogen-bonded complexes between the 2PUA derivative and acetate ion (AcO-), namely N1-H1â¯O1 and N2-H2â¯O2. Strong charge transfer (CT) due to the electron-donating OMe group led to H1 transfer in the S1 state for the OMe-2PUA:AcO- hydrogen-bonded complex. On the contrary, weak CT due to the electron-withdrawing CF3 group led to H2 transfer in the S1 state for CF3-2PUA. After the ESPT reaction, the binding energies of the hydrogen-bonded complexes strongly decreased in both cases, and this promoted the separation of contact-ion pairs (CIPs*) and formed different types of anionic species. CF3-2PUA- could keep its nearly planar structure in the S1 state and emit "abnormal" fluorescence. On the other hand, the anionic OMe-2PUA- underwent a twisting motion to form a twisted structure in the S1 state with very low energy, and this led to a rapid internal conversion (IC) to quench long-wave fluorescence in the emission spectra.
RESUMO
BACKGROUND: Kidney Renal Clear Cell Carcinoma (KIRC) is a common malignant tumor of the urinary system, and its incidence is increasing. ERBB3 binding protein (EBP1) is upregulated in various cancers. However, the connection between EBP1 and KIRC has not been reported. METHODS: The expression of EBP1 in normal kidney tissue and KIRC tissue was analyzed through database and tissue microarray. EBP1 was knocked down in KIRC cell lines, and its impact on KIRC proliferation was assessed through CCK-8, soft agar assay, and flow cytometry. Scratch and transwell assays were used to evaluate the influence of EBP1 on KIRC invasion and migration. Nude mice tumor experiment were conducted to examine the effect of EBP1 on tumor tissue. Database analysis explored potential pathways involving EBP1, and validation was performed through Western blot experiments and p38 inhibitor. RESULTS: EBP1 is upregulated in KIRC and significantly correlates with clinical staging, pathological grading, and lymph node metastasis in patients. The mechanism research showed that knocking down EBP1 inhibited KIRC proliferation, invasion, and migration and inhibited p38 phosphorylation and the expression of hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) in KIRC. p-38 inhibitor (SB203580) inhibits p38 phosphorylation and HIF-1α expression and suppresses cell viability in a concentration-dependent manner, but has no effect on EBP1 expression. HEK 293T cells overexpressing EBP1 showed increased expression of phosphorylated p38 and HIF-1α and enhanced cell viability, however, SB203580 inhibited this effect of EBP1. CONCLUSION: EBP1 may promote the occurrence and development of KIRC by regulating the expression of p38/HIF-1α signaling pathway.
RESUMO
BACKGROUND: We aimed to explore simple and effective clinical parameters or combinations to predict coronary artery dilation and aneurysm formation in pediatric patients with Kawasaki disease (KD). DESIGN AND METHODS: This retrospective cohort study included pediatric patients with KD from January, 2013 to December, 2022. Multiple demographic and clinical data were collected, collated, and calculated from the medical records. Then they were divided into the coronary artery dilation and aneurysm formation group or the non-coronary artery dilation and aneurysm formation group. Lymphocyte-C-reactive protein ratio (LCR) was transformed into its natural logarithm and expressed as lnLCR. RESULTS: A total of 64 pediatric patients with KD were enrolled in this cohort study after 1:3 propensity score matching (PSM). For each unit increase in lnLCR, the possibility of coronary artery dilation and aneurysm formation decreased to 0.419 times the original value. The areas under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves of lnLCR combined with albumin (ALB), ALB, and lnLCR to classify pediatric patients with KD into the coronary artery dilation and aneurysm formation group were 0.781, 0.692, and 0.743, respectively. CONCLUSION: LCR combined with ALB upon admission is a promising predictor of coronary artery dilation and aneurysm formation in pediatric patients with KD.

Autoantibodies against apolipoprotein A-I (ApoA-I) are associated with cardiovascular disease risks. We aimed to examine the 4-hydroxy-2-nonenal (HNE) modification of ApoA-I in coronary artery disease (CAD) and evaluate the potential risk of autoantibodies against their unmodified and HNE-modified peptides. We assessed plasma levels of ApoA-I, HNE-protein adducts, and autoantibodies against unmodified and HNE-peptide adducts, and significant correlations and odds ratios (ORs) were examined. Two novel CAD-specific HNE-peptide adducts, ApoA-I251-262 and ApoA-I70-83, were identified. Notably, immunoglobulin G (IgG) anti-ApoA-I251-262 HNE, IgM anti-ApoA-I70-83 HNE, IgG anti-ApoA-I251-262, IgG anti-ApoA-I70-83, and HNE-protein adducts were significantly correlated with triglycerides, creatinine, or high-density lipoprotein in CAD with various degrees of stenosis (<30% or >70%). The HNE-protein adduct (OR = 2.208-fold, p = 0.020) and IgM anti-ApoA-I251-262 HNE (2.046-fold, p = 0.035) showed an increased risk of progression from >30% stenosis in CAD. HNE-protein adducts and IgM anti-ApoA-I251-262 HNE may increase the severity of CAD at high and low levels, respectively.
RESUMO
OBJECTIVE: To examine the independent effect of inflammatory burden and various treatments on the risk of incident major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in ankylosing spondylitis (AS) patients. METHODS: AS patients were retrospectively selected from a territory-wide database between 2006 and 2015, and were followed until the end of 2018. The primary outcome was the first occurrence of MACE. Multivariate time-varying Cox proportional hazard models were used to determine the associations between inflammatory burden (measured by c-reactive protein [CRP] and erythrocyte sedimentation rate [ESR]) and different therapies with incident MACE, after adjusting for traditional cardiovascular (CV) risk factors. RESULTS: A total of 3827 patients with AS (mean age: 45.2 ± 15.0 years, male: 2911 [76.1 %]) were recruited. After a follow-up of 23,275 person-years, 135 patients (3.5 %) developed a first MACE. Univariate analyses showed that elevated ESR and CRP levels, and the use of glucocorticoids were associated with a significantly higher risk of MACE, while the use of sulfasalazine (SLZ), biologic DMARDs and non-cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitors (non-COX-IIi) were associated with reduced risk of MACE. After adjusting for CV risk factors in the multivariable models, only ESR (HR: 1.02; ESR ≥30 mm/h, HR:1.94) and CRP level (HR: 1.14; CRP >3 mg/dl HR:5.43) remained significantly associated with increased risk of MACE, while SLZ use (HR: 0.41-0.52) was protective against MACE. CONCLUSION: High inflammatory burden was an independent predictor associated with an increased risk of MACE, while the use of SLZ might reduce risk of incident MACE in patients with AS.

Purpose: This study aims to explore the value of clinical features, CT imaging signs, and radiomics features in differentiating between adults and children with Mycoplasma pneumonia and seeking quantitative radiomic representations of CT imaging signs. Materials and methods: In a retrospective analysis of 981 cases of mycoplasmal pneumonia patients from November 2021 to December 2023, 590 internal data (adults:450, children: 140) randomly divided into a training set and a validation set with an 8:2 ratio and 391 external test data (adults:121; children:270) were included. Using univariate analysis, CT imaging signs and clinical features with significant differences (p < 0.05) were selected. After segmenting the lesion area on the CT image as the region of interest, 1,904 radiomic features were extracted. Then, Pearson correlation analysis (PCC) and the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) were used to select the radiomic features. Based on the selected features, multivariable logistic regression analysis was used to establish the clinical model, CT image model, radiomic model, and combined model. The predictive performance of each model was evaluated using ROC curves, AUC, sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, and precision. The AUC between each model was compared using the Delong test. Importantly, the radiomics features and quantitative and qualitative CT image features were analyzed using Pearson correlation analysis and analysis of variance, respectively. Results: For the individual model, the radiomics model, which was built using 45 selected features, achieved the highest AUCs in the training set, validation set, and external test set, which were 0.995 (0.992, 0.998), 0.952 (0.921, 0.978), and 0.969 (0.953, 0.982), respectively. In all models, the combined model achieved the highest AUCs, which were 0.996 (0.993, 0.998), 0.972 (0.942, 0.995), and 0.986 (0.976, 0.993) in the training set, validation set, and test set, respectively. In addition, we selected 11 radiomics features and CT image features with a correlation coefficient r greater than 0.35. Conclusion: The combined model has good diagnostic performance for differentiating between adults and children with mycoplasmal pneumonia, and different CT imaging signs are quantitatively represented by radiomics.
RESUMO
PURPOSE: To enhance the predictive risk model for all-cause mortality in individuals with Type 2 Diabetes (T2DM) and prolonged Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (ASCVD) risk factors. Despite the utility of the Coronary Artery Calcium (CAC) score in assessing cardiovascular risk, its capacity to predict all-cause mortality remains limited. METHODS: A retrospective cohort study included 1929 asymptomatic T2DM patients with ASCVD risk factors, aged 40-80. Variables encompassed demographic attributes, clinical parameters, CAC scores, comorbidities, and medication usage. Factors predicting all-cause mortality were selected to create a predictive scoring system. By using stepwise selection in a multivariate Cox proportional hazards model, we divided the patients into three risk groups. RESULTS: In our analysis of all-cause mortality in T2DM patients with extended ASCVD risk factors over 5 years, we identified significant risk factors, their adjusted hazard ratios (aHR), and scores: e.g., CAC score > 1000 (aHR: 1.57, score: 2), CAC score 401-1000 (aHR: 2.05, score: 2), and more. These factors strongly predict all-cause mortality, with varying risk groups (e.g., very low-risk: 2.0%, very high-risk: 24.0%). Significant differences in 5-year overall survival rates were observed among these groups (log-rank test < 0.001). CONCLUSION: The Poh-Ai Predictive Scoring System excels in forecasting mortality and cardiovascular events in individuals with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and extended ASCVD risk factors.
RESUMO
BACKGROUND: Previous studies involving risk-benefit analysis of trastuzumab deruxtecan (DS-8201) have indicated the benefit of this treatment, although it may increase the risk of interstitial lung disease (ILD) and/or pneumonitis in certain patients. This study aimed to assess the safety of DS-8201. METHODS: A search was done for relevant articles in four electronic databases: PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library, and ClinicalTrials.gov. All reports published up until November 2, 2022, were included, and study types were restricted to clinical trials; the last search was then updated to January 10, 2023. We also assessed the quality of the literature with the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions and the Methodological Index for Non-Randomized Studies tool, and then performed a meta-analysis with R version 4.2.1. RESULTS: A total of 1428 patients reported in 13 articles were included in this study. The analysis revealed that the most common all-grade treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs) were nausea and fatigue. The most common TEAE of grade 3 or above (grade ≥3) was neutropenia. The incidences of ILD and/or pneumonitis for all-grade and grade ≥3 TEAEs were 12.5% and 2.2%, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: This comprehensive summary of the incidence of TEAEs associated with DS-8201 in clinical trials provides an important guide for clinicians. The most common TEAEs were gastrointestinal reactions and fatigue; meanwhile, the most common grade ≥3 TEAE was hematological toxicity. ILD and/or pneumonitis were specific adverse drug reactions associated with DS-8201, of which physicians should be particularly aware for their higher morbidity and rates of grade ≥3 TEAEs.

Researchers often report higher metabolic syndrome (MetS) pr\4;evalence among cancer survivors than among non-cancer individuals. This study aims to explore the impact of cancer presence, activity type, and dietary lifestyle on MetS in males over 40 years of age. Participants (n = 9846; 618 cancer survivors, 9228 non-cancer) were selected by extracting data from a Korean government database spanning the years 2016 to 2021. Physical activity patterns, dietary habits, and MetS factors were measured, and a multiple logistic regression analysis was statistically processed for an odds ratio (OR). MetS was present in 32.8% of cancer survivors and 28.6% of non-cancer individuals. Gastric cancer survivors exhibited a 16% lower OR for MetS versus non-cancer participants. The ORs were higher by 1.60-, 1.45-, and 1.26-fold for colorectal, urinary, and other cancers, respectively. Cancer survivors with high calorie, carbohydrate, and fat intakes exhibited ORs of 2.01 (95% CI 1.28-4.04), 2.33 (95% CI 1.28-4.54), and 1.39 (95% CI 1.05-2.37) compared to the recommended level. The high fiber-intake group reduced the MetS OR by 20%. In conclusion, The MetS prevalence was higher in survivors with colorectal cancer, urinary cancer, and other cancers, while it was lower in patients with gastric cancer. Survivors with low rates of eating three meals a day, high skipping breakfast, increased eating-out rate, and no nutritional learning opportunity displayed higher MetS prevalence. Additionally, cancer survivors who had more strength and leisure activities had a lower OR of MetS.
RESUMO
Aqueous zinc-ion batteries are attractive post-lithium battery technologies for grid-scale energy storage because of their inherent safety, low cost and high theoretical capacity. However, their practical implementation in wide-temperature surroundings persistently confronts irregular zinc electrodeposits and parasitic side reactions on metal anode, which leads to poor rechargeability, low Coulombic efficiency and short lifespan. Here, this work reports lamellar nanoporous Cu/Al2Cu heterostructure electrode as a promising anode host material to regulate high-efficiency and dendrite-free zinc electrodeposition and stripping for wide-temperatures aqueous zinc-ion batteries. In this unique electrode, the interconnective Cu/Al2Cu heterostructure ligaments not only facilitate fast electron transfer but work as highly zincophilic sites for zinc nucleation and deposition by virtue of local galvanic couples while the interpenetrative lamellar channels serving as mass transport pathways. As a result, it exhibits exceptional zinc plating/stripping behaviors in aqueous hybrid electrolyte of diethylene glycol dimethyl ether and zinc trifluoromethanesulfonate at wide temperatures ranging from 25 to -30 °C, with ultralow voltage polarizations at various current densities and ultralong lifespan of >4000 h. The outstanding electrochemical properties enlist full cell of zinc-ion batteries constructed with nanoporous Cu/Al2Cu and ZnxV2O5/C to maintain high capacity and excellent stability for >5000 cycles at 25 and -30 °C.
RESUMO
Children with developmental disabilities may develop emotional and behavioral problems that arise from difficulties in social interaction, and therefore, a process of providing and testing intervention activities for emotional and behavioral issues in the early stages of development is required. This study evaluated the effects of a 12-week service-learning exercise program on children with developmental disabilities, contrasting it with a control group not engaged in specific physical activities. The participants included 18 children with developmental disabilities who participated in the service-learning exercise program (SLG) and 18 children with developmental disabilities (Non-SLG) who did not participate. The Korean Behavior Assessment System for Children-2 was used to evaluate children's emotional and behavioral problems. A two-way repeated-measures ANOVA was conducted to verify the interaction effect between the group and period according to program participation. The results showed the positive internalization of problem behaviors in the emotional domain (F = 4.291, p = 0.011), attention deficit/hyperactivity (F = 4.761, p = 0.012), and personal adjustment (F = 4.116, p = 0.023) in the SLG group. These results suggest that participation in a service-learning exercise program positively affected emotional and behavioral problems in children with developmental disabilities. This could provide a basis for future research on service-learning exercise programs for children with developmental disabilities.

Emerging organic molecules with emissions in the second near-infrared (NIR-II) region are garnering significant attention. Unfortunately, achieving accountable organic emission intensity over the NIR-IIa (1300 nm) region faces challenges due to the intrinsic energy gap law. Up to the current stage, all reported organic NIR-IIa emitters belong to polymethine-based dyes with small Stokes shifts (<50 nm) and low quantum yield (QY; ≤0.015%). However, such polymethines have proved to cause self-absorption with constrained emission brightness, limiting advanced development in deep-tissue imaging. Here a new NIR-IIa scaffold based on rigid and highly conjugated dibenzofluoran core terminated by amino-containing moieties that reveal emission peaks of 1230-1305 nm is designed. The QY is at least 10 times higher than all synthesized or reported NIR-IIa polymethines with extraordinarily large Stokes shifts of 370-446 nm. DBF-BJ is further prepared as a polymer dot to demonstrate its in vivo 3D stereo imaging of mouse vasculature with a 1400 nm long-pass filter.
