RESUMO

The objective of our research was histological evaluation of therapeutic effects in case of burn injury in rats. Experiment was conducted on 84 test rats with burn injury of III-A stage. Therapeutical effect of studied medicines was evaluated using histological methods. Results achived gave evidence that on 18-th day of treatment with ceremids cream and dexpanthenol with ceramids cream the level granulation tissue maturing increased by 1,4 and 1,7 times and intensity of burn injury epithelization rose by 1,5 and 1,9 times in comparison with non-treated animals. Therapeutic effect of dexpanthenol with ceramids cream significantly overcome action of «Bepanten¼ cream. Thus, experiment done proved efficiency of ceramids use in cream composition with dexpanthenol as one of the therapeutic methods aimed at increase of skin burn injury healing activation.

RESUMO

AIM: To determine the possible boundaries of high-dose immunosuppressive therapy and autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HDIT-autoHSCT) for autoimmune diseases (AUDs), such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and multiple sclerosis (MS). SUBJECTS AND METHODS: A long-term trial was conducted at one center to evaluate the efficiency and safety of HDIT-autoHSCT in patients with AUDs. The previous standard therapy was noted to be resistant or lowly effective. The age of 10 patients with systemic connective tissue diseases was 27.6±2.8 years; the pre-HDIT-autoHSCT disease duration was 5.9±1.3 years; the median posttransplantation follow-up was 39.3 months. The age of 49 patients with MS reached 34.9±1.33 years; the pretransplantation disease duration was 8.4±0.69 years; the median post-HDIT-autoHSCT follow-up was 42 months. The efficiency of transplantation was evaluated on the basis of clinical findings, by using scales, laboratory tests, and magnetic resonance imaging. Pretransplantation conditioning was carried out according to the protocols: a) BEAM + antilymphocyte globulin (ALG); b) fludarabine + melphalan + ALG. No fatal outcomes due to a transplant procedure were observed. RESULTS: Overall 5-year survival after transplantation was 80% for systemic connective tissue diseases and 95% for MS; 5-year progression-free survival rates were 30% in the RA and SLE groups and 45% in the MS group. HDIT-autoHSCT turned out safe and reduced the activity of the process and further disease progression for a long period of time, as confirmed by regression of clinical symptoms and/or status stabilization in 9 patients with SLE or RA and in all patients with MS. CONCLUSION: The favorable factors associated with the results of transplantation are age younger than 35 years in collagenoses with their short-term duration and moderate signs; age younger than 40 years in MS with a disease duration of less than 10 years and expanded disability status scale scores of not more than 6.5. Of importance are functional system scores, duration of first remission, and an index of disease progression in different types of MS.

RESUMO

The present work describes the elaboration of onteeth compression-distraction apparatus and the treatment method for mandible fractures within dentition using onteeth compression-distraction apparatus. The conclusions are made regarding advantage of onteeth compression-distraction apparatus over intermaxillary and wire fixation of the bone fragments, as well as over helical onteeth compression-distraction apparatus.

RESUMO

The argasid ticks A. lahorensis can be infected with Coxiella burnetii on feeding on an infected rabbit. The adoptive pathogen reproduces in the ticks and accumulates in them up to 10(10) ID50 g(-1). Coxiella persists in the ticks at this level up to 156 days (the time of observation). The infected ticks transmit Coxiella to guinea pigs while sucking. The ticks show transovarial transmission of Coxilla during metamorphosis. On this basis and with consideration for the fact that A. lahorensis uses a wide host range, it can long starve and retains Coxiella burnetii in the foci of Q fever.

RESUMO

The authors' studies have established that the concentration of Rickettsia typhi may increase about 100-fold in the infected Ornithonyssus bacoti mites. At the time, when on feeding 20 to 200 adult mites on guinea-pigs and albino rats 4 to 36 days after inoculation, they did not transmit Rickettsia typhi on blood sucking.

RESUMO

AIM: To identify factors influencing hospitalization rate of bronchial asthma (BA) patients for optimization of medical care for BA patients, improvement of hospital-outpatient clinic succession. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Personal benefit drug data base of the Samaia region was used for monitoring of pharmacotherapy quality in 19,697 BA patients aged 17 years and older. The list of the prescribed anti-asthmatic drugs was compared to some indices of medical care quality. The data were analysed with the multifactorial analysis. RESULTS: The multifactorial analysis has shown that BA patients' hospitalization rate depends on the structure of pharmacotherapy, especially optimal administration of basic drugs. A model of effective pharmacotherapy of BA patients on the out- and inpatient stages of medical care is proposed. CONCLUSION: Regional standards allowed general practitioners to give effective therapy in BA, hospital physicians to formulate recommendations for patients after hospital treatment.
