Síndrome de Evans y desregulación inmune: complejidades moleculares y etiopatogénicas / Evans syndrome and immune dysregulation: molecular and etiopathogenic complexities

Introducción: El síndrome de Evans se define como la presencia de citopenias inmunes que afectan dos o más líneas celulares simultánea o secuencialmente. Generalmente se refiere a la combinación de anemia hemolítica autoinmune con trombocitopenia inmune primaria, pero puede incluir también neutropenia autoinmune. Su etiología se atribuye a la producción de autoanticuerpos patológicos contra las células sanguíneas pero su causa real se desconoce. Objetivo: Explicar la relación del síndrome de Evans con la desregulación del sistema inmune. Método: Se realizó una revisión de la literatura en inglés y español a través del sitio web PubMed y el motor de búsqueda Google académico, de artículos publicados sobre el tema. El 69,73 por ciento correspondieron a los últimos 5 años. Conclusiones: La inmunopatología del síndrome de Evans se puede atribuir a una alteración en el desarrollo o la función de los linfocitos, de manera que el equilibrio inmunológico se inclina hacia la autorreactividad(AU)

Introduction: Evans syndrome is defined as the presence of autoimmune cytopenias affecting two or more blood cell lines, either simultaneously or sequentially. Most often, this refers to the combination of autoimmune hemolytic anemia and immune thrombocytopenia but can include autoimmune neutropenia as well. The etiology of Evans syndrome has been attributed to pathologic autoantibody production against the blood cells, but the true underlying cause remaining unknown. Objective: to explain the relationship of Evans syndrome with dysregulation of the immune system. Method: a review of the literature in English and Spanish was carried out through the PubMed website and the academic Google search engine for articles published on the subject. 69,73 percent corresponded to the last 5 years. Conclusions: the immunopathology of Evans syndrome can be attributed to an alteration in the development or function of lymphocytes, such that the immune balance is inclined towards self-reactivity(AU)

Nuevos aspectos moleculares y fisiopatológicos de la anemia drepanocítica / New molecular and pathophysiological aspects of sickle cell anemia

Introducción: La enfermedad por hemoglobina S es una anemia hemolítica crónica hereditaria cuyas manifestaciones clínicas provienen de la tendencia de esta hemoglobina de polimerizar y deformar los eritrocitos dándoles la típica forma de media luna, platanito, drepanocitos o sickle cell; de aquí el nombre de anemia drepanocítica o sicklemia. Objetivo: Describir los nuevos aspectos moleculares, fisiopatológicos y el diagnóstico de la anemia drepanocítica. Métodos: Se realizó una revisión de la literatura, en inglés y español, a través del sitio web PubMed y el motor de búsqueda Google académico de artículos publicados en los últimos 10 años. Se hizo un análisis y resumen de la bibliografía revisada. Conclusiones: La comprensión de la complejidad y multiplicidad de eventos que conducen a complicaciones graves en la anemia drepanocítica y nuestra incapacidad para predecir el curso clínico en cada caso particular ayudaría en la prevención de estos eventos(AU)

Introduction: Hemoglobin S disease is a hereditary chronic hemolytic anemia whose clinical manifestations come from the tendency of this hemoglobin to polymerize and deform erythrocytes, giving the typical crescent, banana, sickle cell or sickle cell shape; hence the name sickle cell anemia or sicklemia. Objective: To describe the new molecular and pathophysiological aspects and the diagnosis of sickle cell anemia. Methods: A literature review was carried out, in English and Spanish, through PubMed website and Google academic search engine for articles published in the last 10 years. An analysis and summary of the revised bibliography was made. Conclusions: Understanding the complexity and multiplicity of events that lead to serious complications in sickle cell anemia and our inability to predict the clinical course in each particular case would help preventing these events(AU)

Developing an Interactive Environment Through the Teaching of Mathematics with Small Robots.

The article is the product of the study "Development of innovative resources to improve logical-mathematical skills in primary school, through educational robotics", developed during the 2019 school year in three public schools in the province of Chiriquí, Republic of Panama. The teaching-learning process in students is influenced by aspects inside and outside the classroom, since not all schools have the necessary resources to deliver content or teaching material. The general objective of the project is to design, develop and implement educational robotics to improve logical-mathematical skills aimed at preschool and first grade students in public schools, using programmable educational robots. For this, a set of resources and activities were developed to improve the logical-mathematical skills of the initial stages, in public schools, obtaining significant results. Playful activities favor the teaching-learning process. Considering the analysis of the results made on the data obtained through the applied collection instruments, it can be argued that in general terms the values indicate that the students obtained a favorable level of performance in the different challenges proposed. The project has allowed the academic community to have an application of great value that allows teaching about the conservation of natural sites. The project only covers the area of mathematics in preschool and first grade.

Edge Computing, IoT and Social Computing in Smart Energy Scenarios.

The Internet of Things (IoT) has become one of the most widely research paradigms, having received much attention from the research community in the last few years. IoT is the paradigm that creates an internet-connected world, where all the everyday objects capture data from our environment and adapt it to our needs. However, the implementation of IoT is a challenging task and all the implementation scenarios require the use of different technologies and the emergence of new ones, such as Edge Computing (EC). EC allows for more secure and efficient data processing in real time, achieving better performance and results. Energy efficiency is one of the most interesting IoT scenarios. In this scenario sensors, actuators and smart devices interact to generate a large volume of data associated with energy consumption. This work proposes the use of an Edge-IoT platform and a Social Computing framework to build a system aimed to smart energy efficiency in a public building scenario. The system has been evaluated in a public building and the results make evident the notable benefits that come from applying Edge Computing to both energy efficiency scenarios and the framework itself. Those benefits included reduced data transfer from the IoT-Edge to the Cloud and reduced Cloud, computing and network resource costs.

La identidad latinoamericana: premisa martiana consustancial para la formación del estudiante universitario actual / The Latin American identity: Martian premise consubstantial for the formation of the current university student

RESUMEN El trabajo aborda una faceta dentro del humanismo martiano que refleja sus consideraciones en su bregar por tierras de América. Sus postulados constituyen un imprescindible legado para formar en los estudiantes universitarios valores éticos que los conviertan en mejores seres, humanos y profesionales. En su recorrido desde México hacia Guatemala, el Apóstol pretende resaltar la figura del negro de raza pura que allí vivía. Estas consideraciones se ofrecen a partir del texto Livingstone. El artículo tiene como objetivo develar algunas ideas que permitan un desarrollo político-ideológico, ético y estético integral donde se destaque el conocimiento y respeto por la historia, la autoctonía de los pueblos americanos y la cultura patrias.

ABSTRACT The work addresses a facet within Martian humanism that reflects its considerations in its struggle for the lands of America. Its postulates constitute an essential legacy to form in university students ethical values ​​that turn them into better beings, human beings and professionals. On his journey from Mexico to Guatemala, the Apostle pretends to highlight the figure of the black of pure race that lived there. These considerations are offered from the Livingstone text. The article aims to reveal some ideas that allow a political-ideological, ethical and integral aesthetic development where knowledge and respect for history, the autochthony of the American people and the patriotic culture are highlighted.

La comprensión lectora de textos científicos en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje / Reading comprehension of scientific texts in the teaching-learning process

El desarrollo de habilidades lectoras y el conocimiento de elementos teóricos para la comprensión de los textos científicos es una necesidad en la formación de todo profesional. Para que los futuros egresados puedan comprender esta tipología textual es necesario que cada docente, desde las diferentes asignaturas del currículo escolar, le ofrezcan las herramientas necesarias para interactuar con estos. Por tal motivo este trabajo tiene como objetivo realizar una revisión bibliográfica de los aspectos esenciales acerca de la comprensión lectora y en particular de los textos científicos, sustentada en las concepciones vigotskianas, así como en categorías de la Lingüística Textual que posibilitan la interpretación y procesamiento de la información en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje.

The development of literacy skills and knowledge of theoretical elements for the understanding of scientific texts is a need in any professional training. In order that future graduates can understand this textual typology it is necessary that each teacher, from the different subjects of the school curriculum, offers the necessary tools to interact with these texts. For this reason this work is intended to carry out a literature review of the essential aspects of reading comprehension and in particular of scientific texts, supported in the vigotskians conceptions and categories of Textual Linguistics that make possible the interpretation and processing of information in the teaching-learning process.

Calidad de vida en familias con niños menores de dos años afectados por malformaciones congénitas: perspectiva del cuidador principal / Quality of life families with children under 2 years old afflicted by congenital malformations: perspective of the main caretaker

Se presentan resultados de una investigación cuyo objetivo general fue evaluar la calidad de vida de las familias con hijos entre cero y dos años con malformaciones congénitas, en función de la edad del niño, variables sociodemográficas, la información que tienen los padres sobre la enfermedad y las características clínicas de cada diagnóstico. Se usó un diseño de estudio trasversal descriptivo correlacional, con comparación de grupos por edad y por tipo de malformación. Los instrumentos de evaluación fueron el ECLAMC para la evaluación médica y una entrevista semiestructurada para el cuidador principal, con base en los dominios de calidad de vida descritos por Rodríguez (1995) y calidad de la información sobre la malformación. La muestra definitiva fue de 36 familias, con 24 niñas y 14 niños con diversos tipos de malformación congénita. Los principales resultados muestran que no hubo diferencias significativas en la calidad de vida por género ni edad del hijo, ni por edad de los padres. Hubo relación significativa entre el tipo de malformación y la calidad de vida en el dominio de estatus funcional, lo mismo que entre ocupación de la madre y la calidad de información sobre la malformación y su tratamiento. El dominio más afectado en la madre es el funcionamiento psicológico. Los resultados se discuten a la luz de la información relevante y de las políticas de atención en salud.
