RESUMO

Second-order superlattices form when moiré superlattices with similar periodicities interfere with each other, leading to larger superlattice periodicities. These crystalline structures are engineered using two-dimensional materials such as graphene and hexagonal boron nitride, and the specific alignment plays a crucial role in facilitating correlation-driven topological phases. Signatures of second-order superlattices have been identified in magnetotransport experiments; however, real-space visualization is still lacking. Here we reveal the second-order superlattice in magic-angle twisted bilayer graphene closely aligned with hexagonal boron nitride through electronic transport measurements and cryogenic nanoscale photovoltage measurements and evidenced by long-range periodic photovoltage modulations. Our results show that even minuscule strain and twist-angle variations as small as 0.01° can lead to drastic changes in the second-order superlattice structure. Our real-space observations, therefore, serve as a 'magnifying glass' for strain and twist angle and can elucidate the mechanisms responsible for the breaking of spatial symmetries in twisted bilayer graphene.

OBJECTIVE: Understand vaccination knowledge and barriers to vaccination among minority adults. STUDY DESIGN: Cross-sectional survey. SETTING: Otolaryngology clinics at a safety net hospital and a tertiary academic center and a head and neck cancer screening event. METHODS: Survey was administered to consenting patients. Descriptive statistics and significance testing were used to characterize the data, with non-minority respondents as controls. Multivariate logistic regression was used to understand factors associated with vaccination. RESULTS: HPV vaccination among our 241 respondents (n = 41, 17.67 %) and their qualifying children (n = 52, 33.55 %) was low. Non-vaccinated minorities were significantly more likely to express interest in HPV vaccination (28.66 % vs 8.66 %, p = 0.016). Minority patients were significantly less knowledgeable about HPV causing cervical (88.64 % vs 72.45 %, p = 0.024) and head and neck (68.18 % vs 44.90 %, p = 0.005) cancer and were also less aware of HPV infection (95.45 % vs 81.12 %, p = 0.020) among non-women. Lack of knowledge about the HPV vaccine was the most cited reason why minority patients did not or were uninterested in vaccination for themselves or their children. In a multivariable logistic regression of factors associated with HPV vaccination, only increased age demonstrated a significant association with vaccination likelihood (OR = 0.91, 95 % CI = [0.88-0.95], p < 0.001). CONCLUSION: Reported HPV vaccination rates were low for both white and minority patients but did not significantly vary on univariate or multivariate analysis. However, minority respondents were significantly less knowledgeable about HPV and its manifestations; they most often cited inadequate knowledge as why did not receive or were uninterested in HPV vaccination. As such, HPV vaccination educational interventions may raise vaccination rates among minority populations.

Importance: Cannabis is the most commonly used illicit substance worldwide. Whether cannabis use is associated with head and neck cancer (HNC) is unclear. Objective: To assess the clinical association between cannabis use and HNC. Design, Setting, and Participants: This large multicenter cohort study used clinical records from a database that included 20 years of data (through April 2024) from 64 health care organizations. A database was searched for medical records for US adults with and without cannabis-related disorder who had recorded outpatient hospital clinic visits and no prior history of HNC. Propensity score matching was performed for demographic characteristics, alcohol-related disorders, and tobacco use. Subsequently, relative risks (RRs) were calculated to explore risk of HNC, including HNC subsites. This analysis was repeated among those younger than 60 years and 60 years or older. Exposure: Cannabis-related disorder. Main Outcomes and Measures: Diagnosis of HNC and any HNC subsite. Results: The cannabis-related disorder cohort included 116 076 individuals (51 646 women [44.5%]) with a mean (SD) age of 46.4 (16.8) years. The non-cannabis-related disorder cohort included 3 985 286 individuals (2 173 684 women [54.5%]) with a mean (SD) age of 60.8 (20.6) years. The rate of new HNC diagnosis in all sites was higher in the cannabis-related disorder cohort. After matching (n = 115 865 per group), patients with cannabis-related disorder had a higher risk of any HNC (RR, 3.49; 95% CI, 2.78-4.39) than those without HNC. A site-specific analysis yielded that those with cannabis-related disorder had a higher risk of oral (RR, 2.51; 95% CI, 1.81-3.47), oropharyngeal (RR, 4.90; 95% CI, 2.99-8.02), and laryngeal (RR, 8.39; 95% CI, 4.72-14.90) cancer. Results were consistent when stratifying by older and younger age group. Conclusions and Relevance: This cohort study highlights an association between cannabis-related disorder and the development of HNC in adult patients. Given the limitations of the database, future research should examine the mechanism of this association and analyze dose response with strong controls to further support evidence of cannabis use as a risk factor for HNCs.

INTRODUCTION: Refractory pain is a major clinical problem in patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and chronic pancreatitis (CP). New, effective therapies to reduce pain are urgently needed. Intravenous lidocaine is used in clinical practice in patients with PDAC and CP, but its efficacy has not been studied prospectively. METHODS: Multicentre prospective non-randomized pilot study including patients with moderate or severe pain (NRS ≥ 4) associated with PDAC or CP in 5 Dutch centers. An intravenous lidocaine bolus of 1.5mg/kg, was followed by continuous infusion at 1.5 mg/kg/hour. The dose was raised every 15 minutes until treatment response (up to a maximum 2mg/kg/hour) and consecutively administered for two hours. Primary outcome was the mean difference in pain severity, pre-infusion and the first day after (Brief Pain Inventory [BPI] scale 1-10). A BPI decrease ≥ 1.3 points was considered clinically relevant. RESULTS: Overall, 30 patients were included, 19 with PDAC (63%) and 11 with CP (37%). The mean difference in BPI at day one was 1.1 (SD±1.3) points for patients with PDAC and 0.5 (SD±1.7) for CP patients. A clinically relevant decrease in BPI on day one was reported in 9/29 patients (31%), this response lasted up to one month. No serious complications were reported, and only three minor complications (vertigo, nausea, tingling of mouth). Treatment with lidocaine did not impact quality of life. CONCLUSION: Intravenous lidocaine in patients with painful PDAC and CP did not show an overall clinically relevant reduction of pain. However, this pilot study shows that the treatment is feasible in this patient group, and had a positive effect in a third of patients which lasted up to a month with only minor side effects. To prove or exclude the efficacy of intravenous lidocaine, the study should be performed in a study with a greater sample size and less heterogeneous patient group.

OBJECTIVE: To examine prevalence of partial and complete HPV vaccination among middle-aged adults and factors associated with vaccination status. STUDY DESIGN: Nationally representative cross-sectional survey. SETTING: United States. METHODS: Cohort includes adults aged 30 to 44 years from 2018 to 2022 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) survey who completed questions about HPV vaccination status. Survey-weighted multivariable logistic regression was utilized to explore factors associated with partial and complete HPV vaccination status. RESULTS: In this nationally representative cohort of 26,470 US middle-aged adults, 15.8% [95% confidence interval [CI]: 15.1%-16.6%] reported any HPV vaccination, and 6.5% [95% CI: 6.0%-7.0%] reported complete HPV vaccination. On multivariable regression, younger age, female sex, residence in the West or Northeast, higher educational attainment, unmarried status, having a personal healthcare provider, and gay or lesbian sexual orientation were associated with increased likelihood of vaccination. Race was variably associated with vaccination status. Annual income, insurance status, cancer history, head and neck cancer history, and time of last physician checkup were not associated with HPV vaccination status. CONCLUSION: HPV vaccination among middle-aged adults who were not previously vaccinated should be based on risk for new HPV infection and possible benefits of vaccination. While our analysis shows that consideration of personal factors likely plays a role in HPV vaccination in this cohort, we also find that gaps in vaccination may exist due to other socioeconomic disparities between sexes, educational attainment levels, racial/ethnic groups, geographic regions, and access to a personal healthcare provider. These factors' influence suggests potential room for improved public health measures.

Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is the sixth most common cancer globally. Notably, human papillomavirus (HPV)-positive oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) is on the rise, accounting for 70% of all OPSCC cases. Persistent high-risk HPV infection is linked to various cancers, but HPV infection alone is not sufficient to cause cancer. Advances in next-generation sequencing have improved our understanding of changes in the human microbiome of cancerous environments. Yet, there remains a dearth of knowledge on the impact of HPV-microbiome crosstalk in HPV-positive OPSCC. In this review, we examine what is known about the oropharyngeal microbiome and the compositional shifts in this microbiome in HPV-positive OPSCC. We also review potential mechanisms of crosstalk between HPV and specific microorganisms. Additional research is needed to understand these interactions and their roles on cancer development and progression.

Sialic-acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectins (Siglecs) are integral cell surface proteins crucial for the regulation of immune responses and the maintenance of immune tolerance through interactions with sialic acids. Siglecs recognize sialic acid moieties, usually found at the end of N-glycan and O-glycan chains. However, the different Siglecs prefer diverse presentations of the recognized sialic acid, depending on the type of glycosidic linkage used to link to the contiguous Gal/GalNAc or sialic acid moieties. This fact, together with possible O- or N-substitutions at the recognized glycan epitope significantly influences their roles in various immune-related processes. Understanding the molecular details of Siglec-sialoglycan interactions is essential for unraveling their specificities and for the development of new molecules targeting these receptors. While traditional biophysical methods like isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) have been utilized to measure binding between lectins and glycans, contemporary techniques such as surface plasmon resonance (SPR), microscale thermophoresis (MST), and biolayer interferometry (BLI) offer improved throughput. However, these methodologies require chemical modification and immobilization of at least one binding partner, which can interfere the recognition between the lectin and the ligand. Since Siglecs display a large range of dissociation constants, depending on the (bio)chemical nature of the interacting partner, a general and robust method that could monitor and quantify binding would be highly welcomed. Herein, we propose the application of an NMR-based a competitive displacement assay, grounded on 19F T2-relaxation NMR and on the design, synthesis, and use of a strategic spy molecule, to assess and quantify sialoside ligand binding to Siglecs. We show that the use of this specific approach allows the quantification of Siglec binding for natural and modified sialosides, multivalent sialosides, and sialylated glycoproteins in solution, which differ in binding affinities in more than two orders of magnitude, thus providing invaluable insights into sialoglycan-mediated interactions.

In vitro gill models are becoming increasingly important in aquatic toxicology, yet the fish gill invitrome is underrepresented, encompassing approximately 0.1% of extant species. Here, we describe the establishment and characterisation of two gill-derived, epithelial-like cell lines isolated from fish species of significant importance to New Zealand: Chrysophrys auratus (Australasian snapper) and Oncorhynchus tshawytscha (Chinook salmon). Designated CAgill1PFR (Chrysophrys auratus, gill 1, Plant & Food Research) and OTgill1PFR (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha, gill 1, Plant & Food Research), these cell lines have each been passaged greater than each 70 times over several years and are considered spontaneously immortalised. Both cell lines required serum for growth and exhibited differential responses to basal media formulations. CAgill1PFR was sensitive to low temperatures (4 °C) but replicated at high temperatures (30 °C), whereas OTgill1PFR was sensitive to high temperatures but remained viable at low temperatures, mirroring the natural environment of their host species. Immunostaining revealed expression of epithelial cell markers cytokeratin and E-cadherin, alongside positivity for the mesenchymal cell marker, vimentin. CAgill1PFR was more sensitive to the environmental toxin 3,4 dichloroaniline than OTgill1PFR through measurements of metabolic activity, membrane integrity, and lysosomal function. Furthermore, CAgill1PFR produced less CYP1A activity, indicative of ongoing biotransformation processes, in response to beta-naphthoflavone than OTgill1PFR. These cell lines expand the toolbox of resources and emphasise the need for species-specific aquatic toxicology research.

We investigated the structure of ice under nanoporous confinement in periodic mesoporous organosilicas (PMOs) with different organic functionalities and pore diameters between 3.4 and 4.9 nm. X-ray scattering measurements of the system were performed at temperatures between 290 and 150 K. We report the emergence of ice I with both hexagonal and cubic characteristics in different porous materials, as well as an alteration of the lattice parameters when compared to bulk ice. This effect is dependent on the pore diameter and the surface chemistry of the respective PMO. Investigations regarding the orientation of hexagonal ice crystals relative to the pore wall using x-ray cross correlation analysis reveal one or more discrete preferred orientation in most of the samples. For a pore diameter of around 3.8 nm, stronger correlation peaks are present in more hydrophilically functionalized pores and seem to be connected to stronger shifts in the lattice parameters.

In a phase 3 trial (PANAMO, NCT04333420), vilobelimab, a complement 5a (C5a) inhibitor, reduced 28-day mortality in mechanically ventilated COVID-19 patients. This post hoc analysis of 368 patients aimed to explore treatment heterogeneity through unsupervised learning. All available clinical variables at baseline were used as input. Treatment heterogeneity was assessed using latent class analysis (LCA), Ward's hierarchical clustering (HC) and the adjudication to previously described clinical sepsis phenotypes. The primary outcome was 28-day mortality. For LCA, a 2-class latent model was deemed most suitable. In the LCA model, 82 (22%) patients were assigned to class 1 and 286 (78%) to class 2. Class 1 was defined by more severely ill patients with significantly higher mortality. In an adjusted logistic regression, no heterogeneity of treatment effect (HTE) between classes was observed (p = 0.998). For HC, no significant classes were found (p = 0.669). Using the previously described clinical sepsis subtypes, 41 patients (11%) were adjudicated subtype alpha (α), 17 (5%) beta (ß), 112 (30%) delta (δ) and 198 (54%) gamma (γ). HTE was observed between clinical subtypes (p = 0.001) with improved 28-day mortality after treatment with vilobelimab for the δ subtype (OR = 0.17, 95% CI 0.07-0.40, p < 0.001). No signal for harm of treatment with vilobelimab was observed in any class or clinical subtype. Overall, treatment effect with vilobelimab was consistent across different classes and subtypes, except for the δ subtype, suggesting potential additional benefit for the most severely ill patients.

Objectives: A new school policy mandating 45 min physical activity daily during school was introduced in Denmark in 2014. We aimed to evaluate the effect of this policy on BMI in school-aged children. It was hypothesized that the school policy would decrease BMI, especially in the obese fraction of the population (90th percentile BMI). Study design: This register-based study was conducted as a natural experiment. Methods: Analyses were based on data from The National Child Health Register that contains nationwide data on height and weight from mandatory preventive health examinations completed by school nurses or medical doctors during pre-preparatory classes (0th-3rd grade) and lower secondary education (7th-9th grade). A total of 401,517 children were included in the analyses with annual repeated cross-sectional data covering the period from 2012 to 2018. The effect of the school policy was evaluated using an interrupted time series approach comparing pre- and post-policy slopes in BMI, stratified by sex and age-group. Results: In boys, no significant differences were observed in mean BMI slopes from pre-to post-policy in either age-group. In girls, post-policy slopes were significantly higher compared to pre-policy in both age-groups (0th-3rd grade: ß:0·034 kg/m2, 95%-CI: (0·024; 0·043), p-value: <0·001; 7th-9th grade: ß:0·066 kg/m2, 95%-CI: (0·028; 0·103), p-value: 0·001). No significant differences in slopes were observed in BMI at the 90th percentile from pre-to post-policy for both sexes and across both age-groups. Adjustment for leisure-time physical activity as a potential time-varying confounder did not alter the findings. Conclusions: In conclusion, we did not detect a significant decrease in BMI levels among school-aged children following the introduction of a nationwide school policy specifying daily physical activity in school. If anything, a small positive change in BMI was observed in girls. More research is needed to understand whether structural changes similar to this requirement are able to prevent overweight and obesity in children and adolescents.

INTRODUCTION: During the first COVID-19 outbreak in 2020 in the Netherlands, the incidence of pulmonary embolism (PE) appeared to be high in COVID-19 patients admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU). This study was performed to evaluate the incidence of PE during hospital stay in COVID-19 patients not admitted to the ICU. METHODS: Data were retrospectively collected from 8 hospitals in the Netherlands. Patients admitted between February 27, 2020, and July 31, 2020, were included. Data extracted comprised clinical characteristics, medication use, first onset of COVID-19-related symptoms, admission date due to COVID-19, and date of PE diagnosis. Only polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-positive patients were included. All PEs were diagnosed with computed tomography pulmonary angiography (CTPA). RESULTS: Data from 1,852 patients who were admitted to the hospital ward were collected. Forty patients (2.2%) were diagnosed with PE within 28 days following hospital admission. The median time to PE since admission was 4.5 days (IQR 0.0-9.0). In all 40 patients, PE was diagnosed within the first 2 weeks after hospital admission and for 22 (55%) patients within 2 weeks after onset of symptoms. Patient characteristics, pre-existing comorbidities, anticoagulant use, and laboratory parameters at admission were not related to the development of PE. CONCLUSION: In this retrospective multicenter cohort study of 1,852 COVID-19 patients only admitted to the non-ICU wards, the incidence of CTPA-confirmed PE was 2.2% during the first 4 weeks after onset of symptoms and occurred exclusively within 2 weeks after hospital admission.

Objectives: To explore the effect of switching from an oral antipsychotic to a long-acting injectable (LAI) antipsychotic on aggression, in terms of the changes of verbal and physical aggression, interventions required, self-injurious behavior, use of seclusion or restraint, antipsychotic medication refusal, and use of antipsychotics as needed (PRN). Methods: This was a retrospective chart review at a long-term state forensic psychiatric facility. Patients treated with an oral antipsychotic for at least 6 months and then switched to a LAI antipsychotic for an additional 6 months during an 80-month period were included. Results: Out of 70 patients evaluated, 18 were the study subjects. The median age of the cohort was 38 years with a majority being male. Of the seven patients who had an incident of aggression, two had an increase in aggressive incidents following the switch, three had a decrease, and two had no change. Thirty-six interventions occurred while patients were on an oral antipsychotic, which decreased by 30.6% to 25 interventions after the switch. Three patients had an incident of self-injurious behavior, and 6 patients required restraints/seclusions. Of the eight patients who had retrievable medication refusal and antipsychotic PRN use information, five had a decrease in antipsychotic medication refusals and five had an increase in PRN antipsychotic use after the switch. Conclusion: The switch from an oral antipsychotic to a LAI antipsychotic did not appear to significantly increase or decrease incidents of aggression or self-injurious behavior, but seemed to decrease the number of restraints/seclusions required.

Objective: This study aimed to characterize the quality of laryngectomy-related patient education on YouTube and understand factors impacting video content quality. Study Design: Cross-sectional cohort analysis. Setting: Laryngectomy-related videos on YouTube. Methods: YouTube was anonymously queried for various laryngectomy procedure search terms. Video quality was evaluated using the validated DISCERN instrument which assesses treatment-related information quality. Descriptive statistics were used to characterize our cohort. Univariate and multivariable linear regression were used to assess factors associated with increased DISCERN score. Significance was set at P < .05. Results: Our 78-video cohort exhibited moderate levels of engagement, averaging 13,028.40 views (SD = 24,246.93), 69.79 likes (SD = 163.75), and 5.27 comments (SD = 18.81). Videos were most frequently uploaded to accounts belonging to physicians (43.59%) or health care groups (41.03%) and showcased operations (52.56%) or physician-led education (20.51%). Otolaryngologists were featured in most videos (85.90%), and most videos originated outside the United States (67.95%). Laryngectomy videos demonstrated poor reliability (mean = 2.35, SD = 0.77), quality of treatment information (mean = 1.92, SD = 0.86), and overall video quality (mean = 1.97, SD = 1.12). In multivariable linear regression, operative videos were associated with lower video quality relative to nonoperative videos (ß = -1.63, 95% confidence interval [CI] = [-2.03 to -1.24], P < .001); the opposite was true for videos from accounts with higher subscriber counts (ß = 0.02, 95% CI = [0.01-0.03], P = .005). Conclusion: The quality and quantity of YouTube's laryngectomy educational content is limited. There is an acute need to increase the quantity and quality of online laryngectomy-related content to better support patients and caregivers as they cope with their diagnosis, prepare for, and recover from surgery.

Objective: Since 2017, Fulton State Hospital (FSH) has implemented a clozapine-induced constipation protocol. In March 2020, FSH initiated unit quarantines to minimize the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of these quarantines on medical referrals for constipation, the Bristol Stool Chart ratings, utilization of as-needed (PRN) laxatives, and adherence rates with scheduled constipation medication regimens. Methods: Patients on the clozapine-induced constipation protocol from May 1, 2019 to December 31, 2020, were included, with 10-month pre- and mid-quarantine implementation. Data collected included patient demographics, primary psychiatric diagnosis, and outcome variables. Descriptive statistics and paired t-tests were performed. Results: A total of 31 patients were included. Most were male (93.5%), with a median age of 40 years. The most common primary diagnosis was schizophrenia. Compared with the pre-quarantine implementation period, there were fewer medical referral contacts per person, less use of PRN laxatives, and slightly lower adherence rates to scheduled constipation medication regimens during the mid-quarantine implementation period. Conclusion: Compared with the pre-quarantine implementation period, there were fewer medical referrals per person during the mid-quarantine implementation period.

During endochondral bone formation, growth plate chondrocytes are differentially regulated by various factors and hormones. As the cellular phenotype changes, the composition of the extracellular matrix is altered, including the production and composition of matrix vesicles (MV) and their cargo of microRNA. The regulatory functions of these MV microRNA in the growth plate are still largely unknown. To address this question, we undertook a targeted bioinformatics approach. A subset of five MV microRNA was selected for analysis based on their specific enrichment in these extracellular vesicles compared to the parent cells (miR-1-3p, miR-22-3p, miR-30c-5p, miR-122-5p, and miR-133a-3p). Synthetic biotinylated versions of the microRNA were produced using locked nucleic acid (LNA) and were transfected into rat growth plate chondrocytes. The resulting LNA to mRNA complexes were pulled down and sequenced, and the transcriptomic data were used to run pathway analysis pipelines. Bone and musculoskeletal pathways were discovered to be regulated by the specific microRNA, notably those associated with transforming growth factor beta (TGFß) and Wnt pathways, cell differentiation and proliferation, and regulation of vesicles and calcium transport. These results can help with understanding the maturation of the growth plate and the regulatory role of microRNA in MV.

Compressing light into nanocavities substantially enhances light-matter interactions, which has been a major driver for nanostructured materials research. However, extreme confinement generally comes at the cost of absorption and low resonator quality factors. Here we suggest an alternative optical multimodal confinement mechanism, unlocking the potential of hyperbolic phonon polaritons in isotopically pure hexagonal boron nitride. We produce deep-subwavelength cavities and demonstrate several orders of magnitude improvement in confinement, with estimated Purcell factors exceeding 108 and quality factors in the 50-480 range, values approaching the intrinsic quality factor of hexagonal boron nitride polaritons. Intriguingly, the quality factors we obtain exceed the maximum predicted by impedance-mismatch considerations, indicating that confinement is boosted by higher-order modes. We expect that our multimodal approach to nanoscale polariton manipulation will have far-reaching implications for ultrastrong light-matter interactions, mid-infrared nonlinear optics and nanoscale sensors.

INTRODUCTION: Gay and bisexual males and other LGBTQ+ communities are more frequently exposed to factors associated with an increased risk of human papillomavirus (HPV) acquisition. Vaccination is critical to protect against HPV+ head and neck cancer (HNC). We characterized the association of perceived level of risk of contraction with HPV knowledge, and vaccine decision-making. STUDY DESIGN: Cross-sectional cohort. SETTING: LGBTQ and general survey Reddit forums (control). METHODS: A survey was shared amongst the online forums. Descriptive statistics characterized the data. Multivariable logistic regression was used to understand factors associated with vaccination, self-perceived high risk, and knowledge of HPV + HNC. RESULTS: Of 718 respondents, most were female (41.09%), Caucasian (59.89%), college-educated (33.01%), and insured (77.15%) with a mean age of 30.75 years. Half were vaccinated (49.16%), with most unvaccinated endorsing interest (60.58%). Few dependents were vaccinated (25.91%), with interest in vaccination among parents of unvaccinated children (38.58%). Knowledge of HIV's association with HPV (62.95%), HPV causing HNC (55.57%), and the vaccine's efficacy against HNC (55.57%) was also moderate. Identifying female (P = .042), a self-perceived high-risk (P < .001), and having vaccinated children (P < .001) increased vaccination likelihood; transgender (P = .021), or lesbian or gay sexual identity (P < .001) decreased likelihood. Personal HNC diagnosis (P < .001), self-vaccination (P < .001), having vaccinated children (P < .001), having anal sex (P = .001) or no knowledge of past HPV status (P < .001) increased likelihood of high self-perceived risk. CONCLUSION: Efforts to improve public education regarding the association between HPV and HNC and vaccination efficacy are required to better inform vaccine decision-making among individuals at risk for HPV infection.
