RESUMO

Exposure of human cryopreserved spermatozoa to millimeter-wave electromagnetic radiation of 0.03 mW/cm2 density for 5 min in normozoospermia and for 15 min in asthenozoospermia lead to increase of the fraction of mobile spermatozoa without impairing the membrane integrity and nuclear chromatin status and without apoptosis generation.

RESUMO

Structure of γ-irradiated calcium phosphates synthesized in different conditions was studied by means of ESR. It has been shown that amorphous and nanocrystalline calcium phosphates have qualitatively different ESR spectra. The new paramagnetic center in hydroxyapatite (HA) has been found. It consists of four protons of water molecules located in the parallelogram vertexes and the free electron formed in HA by γ-irradiation. This center is thermally stable up to 300 °C, when the water molecules release from the HA crystal lattice.

RESUMO

The influence of the freezing velocities and final temperatures of storage on the complex dielectric permittivity of cord blood serum have been studied. On the temperature dependences of the dielectric permittivity the non-monotonous changes at the characteristic temperatures accompanying with the change of the activation energy of the water molecules dielectric relaxation were found out. The drastic deflection of the temperature dependence of ?' from the monotone curve at 15 degrees C region correlates with the fracture of Arrhenius plots of the dielectric relaxation time and viscosity at the same temperature. Slow freezing (1-2 degrees C/min) of cord blood serum results in ?' diminution in comparison with control, that testifies an increase of bound water amount because of loosening in this case the surface of biomacromolecule polypeptide chains. Rapid freezing (300-400 degrees C/min) results in ?' increase of serum, that is caused, apparently, by the cryoaggregation of biomacro-molecules, which can thus happen.

RESUMO

The results are presented of the study of free radical oxidation of lipids in rabbits with alimentary peroxidation syndrome. A long-term feeding of the animals with a ration devoid of alimentary antioxidants reproduces the main biochemical changes in the blood and tissues characteristic of old animals. It has been revealed that the intensity of EPR signals of lyophilized tissues increased proportionally to the animals' age and to the duration of their maintenance on the ration devoid of antioxidants. A conclusion has been made that the deprivation of the rabbits of alimentary antioxidants accelerates aging.

RESUMO

ESR spectra of the native grain of the silkworm have been studied in the course of embryo formation, during a diapause, and during embryo development after the diapause. It is shown that the nature of ESR spectra of the grain is not determined by the metabolic processes, but by the presence of pigments in it and other stationary biological structures having developed pi-systems and unpaired electrones. The latter are mainly found in the envelope and may give the ESR spectra, with various g-factors. A dependence of the ESR spectra integral intensity of the grain on the denotype is discovered.

RESUMO

Initial stages of "low temperature" carbonization in crystal amino acids have been studied by ESR- and IR-spectroscopy. It was revealed that block polycondensation of amino acids with the formation of polypeptide chains took place. In the air oxygen also surface carbonization of crystals took place; it became stronger with the occurrence of radiation defects.
