RESUMO

To distinguish the contributions of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) and Autler-Townes splitting (ATS) in their applications in precision laser spectroscopy, we propose a real-imaginary spectrum decomposition method to investigate the transparency spectra in a four-level microwave (MW) dressed Rydberg system. We show that the opening transparency windows in the absorption spectra of probe field is a prominent character by EIT, EIT-ATS crossover, and ATS when the MW field is turned off and the intensity of the control field is adjusted. When the MW field is turned on and gradually increased, the EIT is destroyed and disappears. In addition, the most prominent characters that open a transparency window are the EIT-ATS crossover and the ATS. Then, if we further increase the intensity of the MW field, we find that the transparency windows open mainly due to the ATS. Compared to the previous considerations of this issue, which were limited to three-level systems, our four-level scheme reported here is useful for understanding the features of quantum interference in multilevel atomic systems, and has potential applications to study enhanced sensitivity, measurement spectroscopic, quantum processing, quantum communication, and transmission.

BACKGROUND & AIMS: At present, increasing reports have shown that pretreatment platelet count was associated with the prognosis of many types of cancer. We performed rounded analysis to comprehensively analyze and evaluate the prognostic significance of pretreatment thrombocytosis for patients with gastric cancer. METHODS: We identified relevant studies by searching database including PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library and Web of Science. The relative risk (RR) with its 95% confidence interval (CI) was used to assess the correlation between thrombocytosis and overall survival (OS) of gastric cancer patients. We also conducted subgroup analysis and sensitivity analysis for the prognostic effect of thrombocytosis on OS. The analysis was performed and assessed using Review Manager 5.2. RESULTS: A total of nine studies including 7158 participants were included in this systematic review. Analysis results showed that pretreatment thrombocytosis had a close relationship with 1, 3 and 5 years survival of gastric cancer, with the pooled RRs being 0.80 (95% CI 0.71-0.90; P = 0.0004), 0.65 (95% CI 0.45-0.92; P = 0.02) and 0.64 (95% CI 0.47-0.87; P = 0.004) respectively. CONCLUSIONS: The present rounded analysis suggests that pretreatment thrombocytosis may have significant association with poor survival of patients with gastric cancer.

This study cultivated denitrifying granular sludge in three UASB reactors by the semi-starvation fluctuation C/N ratio strategy (reactor 1 (R1): constant C/N ratio; R2: regular fluctuation C/N ratio; and R3: semi-starvation fluctuation C/N ratio (SSF)). Microbial aggregates appeared in R1, R2 and R3 on days 28, 14 and 6, respectively. Compared with the results in R1 and R2, the guanosine tetraphosphate (ppGpp) concentration was highest, the acyl homoserine lactones (AHLs) concentration quickly reached a certain threshold, and more protein (PN) of extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) secretion resulted in the rapid formation of denitrifying granular sludge in R3. The SSF strategy enhances microbial diversity, and denitrifying granular sludge has a better nitrogen removal performance. The result demonstrates that ppGpp, AHLs, EPS and the denitrifying sludge granulation process are associated. A mechanism for denitrifying sludge granulation with SSF strategy was proposed from the aspect of quorum sensing (QS).

The perchlorate reduction lag phase of the strain GWF (KM062029) was shortened by using non-dissolved quinone. nthraquinone, 1-chloroanthraquinone, 1,5-dichloroanthraquinone, 1,8-dichloroanthraquinone and 1,4,5,8-tetrachloranthtaquinone were the five non-dissolved quinones in this study. The results showed that the accelerating order was 1,5-dichloroanthraquinone > 1,4, 5,8-tetrachloroanthtaquinone > 1,8-dichloroanthraquinone > Anthraquinone > 1-chloroanthraquinone. The optimal concentration of 1,5- dichloroanthraquinone, temperature and pH for perchlorate reduction were 0.036 mmol · L⁻¹, 35 °C and 7.5, respectively. The concomitant anions (nitrate, phosphate, sulfate) were in favor of the perchlorate reduction by strain GWF. After four times of recycling experiments, the accelerating perchlorate reduction rate with the immobilized 1,5-dichloroanthraquinone maintained above 2 times.
