RESUMO
Facial Ru(ii)- and Re(i)-complexes of a novel face-capping tris(pyridyl)truxene ligand were synthesised and characterised by various analytical techniques including single crystal XRD. The Ru(ii) complex exhibits unusual green phosphorescence with a long excited-state lifetime.
RESUMO
In this communication, we report the synthesis of a novel porphyrin-related macrocycle. The core modifications result in aromatic building blocks connected exclusively via aryl-aryl bonds. The concept of synthesis permits the formation of a cavity similar to that of a porphyrin combined with the ability to bind metal ions to provide neutral metal complexes.

Transparent and highly conductive graphene electrodes have been fabricated through acetylene-assisted thermolysis of graphite oxide (GO) sheets. This novel procedure uses acetylene as a supplemental carbon source to repair substantial defects within GO sheets, leading to the enhancement of graphitization of synthesized graphene electrodes. The as-prepared graphene on quartz substrates exhibits an electrical conductivity of 1425 S cm(-1) with an optical transmittance of more than 70% at a wavelength of 500 nm. Such an acetylene-assisted thermal treatment approach is also adopted to fabricate graphene electrodes from synthetic nanographene molecules, with an almost five times increase in conductivity compared to samples prepared by the common thermal reduction.
RESUMO
Novel boron-nitrogen-containing pi-conjugated compounds 3,3'- and 4,4'-((2,4,6-triisopropylphenyl)borylene)bis(N,N-diarylbenzenamine) (1-2), m- and p-phenylene bridged to the boron center, respectively, have been synthesized and characterized. Optical studies by means of UV-vis absorption and emission measurements as well as DFT calculations reveal a different charge transfer behavior between the para series and the meta series at ground and excited states.
