RESUMO

Flexible shortwave infrared detectors play a crucial role in wearable devices, bioimaging, automatic control, etc. Commercial shortwave infrared detectors face challenges in achieving flexibility due to the high fabrication temperature and rigid material properties. Herein, we develop a high-performance flexible Te0.7Se0.3 photodetector, resulting from the unique 1D crystal structure and small elastic modulus of Te-Se alloying. The flexible photodetector exhibits a broad-spectrum response ranging from 365 to 1650 nm, a fast response time of 6 µs, a broad linear dynamic range of 76 dB, and a specific detectivity of 4.8 × 1010 Jones at room temperature. The responsivity of the flexible detector remains at 93% of its initial value after bending with a small curvature of 3 mm. Based on the optimized flexible detector, we demonstrate its application in shortwave infrared imaging. These results showcase the great potential of Te0.7Se0.3 photodetectors for flexible electronics.

RESUMO

Modulating the electrical properties of two-dimensional (2D) materials is a fundamental prerequisite for their development to advanced electronic and optoelectronic devices. Substitutional doping has been demonstrated as an effective method for tuning the band structure in monolayer 2D materials. Here, we demonstrate a facile selective-area growth of vanadium-doped molybdenum disulfide (V-doped MoS2) flakes via pre-patterned vanadium-metal-assisted chemical vapor deposition (CVD). Optical microscopy characterization revealed the presence of flake arrays. Transmission electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy were employed to identify the chemical composition and crystalline structure of as-grown flakes. Electrical measurements indicated a light p-type conduction behavior in monolayer V-doped MoS2. Furthermore, the response time of phototransistors based on V-doped MoS2 monolayers exhibited a remarkable capability of 3 ms, representing approximately 3 orders of magnitude faster response than that observed in pure MoS2 phototransistors. This work hereby provides a feasible approach to doping of 2D materials, promising a scalable pathway for the integration of these materials into emerging electronic and optoelectronic devices.

RESUMO

In recent years, the free-range system for laying hens has increased, driven by societal sensitivity to animal welfare. This study aimed to comparatively analyze the total lipid, cholesterol, and fatty acid composition of egg yolks of late-age laying hens reared in enriched cages (C) and the free-range system (FR). Eggs were collected from Lohmann Brown Classic hens at the 68th, 70th, 72nd, and 74th week of age. The concentrations of total lipids and cholesterol were not affected (p > 0.05) by either factor. Egg yolk from the FR group showed lower (p < 0.01) monounsaturated fatty acids and higher (p < 0.01) polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) compared with that of the C group. From a nutritional point of view, the PUFA n-6/n-3 and the PUFA/SFA ratios of egg yolk from the FR group were favorably lower and higher (p < 0.01) compared with the C one. Conversely, hen age did not affect (p > 0.05) the fatty acid composition of yolks. Interactions between factors were found for total n-3 and n-6 PUFA and the n-6/n-3 ratio (p < 0.01), as well as the thrombogenic index (p < 0.05). In conclusion, the results confirmed that the free-range system may improve the nutritional yolk fatty acid profile and its positive impact on human health.

RESUMO

Long-term, high-resolution regional drought records contribute to understanding the impacts of drought on environmental and social systems in central China. Here, we develop a regional tree-ring width chronology of Pinus tabulaeformis Carr from the northern slope of Funiu Mountains on the north-south transition zone in central China. Monthly correlation analyses showed that temperature and humidity in current May and June are main limiting factors on tree growth. Despite that, the highest correlation with tree growth was found to be precipitation from previous December to current June (PreDJ, 0.718, p < 0.001), which was chosen for reconstruction. The reconstructed PreDJ revealed six drought periods and five wet periods over the past 220 years, and the recent dry spell would likely to continue. Spectral analyses indicated that the reconstructed PreDJ was closely related to the El Nino-Southern Oscillation (ENSO, 2-7a) and 35a climatic oscillation of Bruckner, and was also affected by the Quasi-Biennial Oscillation (QBO). Wavelet analyses showed that the quasi-cycle of 2-7a persisted over the past 220 years and strengthened after the 1980s, and the QBO signals appeared from the 1860s to 1970s and wear off thereafter, and 35a cycle only appeared during 1820-1920. Spatial analysis found that the reconstructed PreDJ had good spatial representation of precipitation in the central-eastern China. Therefore, the results of this study provide reliable information for understanding long-term drought impacts on environmental conditions and socioeconomic development in central China.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To examine the associations between (i) various types of physical activity and the risk of back pain incidence, and (ii) the influence of substituting sedentary behaviours with physical activities on back pain incidence. DESIGN: A prospective cohort study. METHODS: We analyzed UK Biobank data collected from 365,307 participants who were free of back pain at baseline. The exposures were total, light, moderate and vigorous physical activity, and sedentary behaviours. The outcome was back pain incidence. The main statistical models were the Cox proportional hazard model and the isotemporal substitution model. RESULTS: In the follow-up time (median, 12.97 years; inter-quartile range, 12.10-13.71), 25,189 individuals developed back pain. The associations between all types of physical activity and incident back pain were significantly non-linear (p < 0.001) among the general population and other subgroups. High physical activity was associated with a decreased risk of back pain compared with no physical activity. The lowest risk occurred in the 1801-2400 MET-min/week subgroup of total physical activity (HR 0.64, 95% CI 0.59-0.69), approximately consisting of 1200, 600, and 600 MET-min/week of light, moderate and vigorous physical activity, respectively. Extremely high vigorous physical activity was related to high risk, specifically in males (HR 1.13, 95% CI 1.02-1.25). Replacing 1 hour/day of sedentary behaviours with an equal time of physical activity reduced the risk of incident back pain by 2%-8% (p < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Physical activity was related to a reduced risk of back pain incidence (except over-high vigorous physical activity). Substituting sedentary behaviours with physical activities reduced the risk of future back pain.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The effect of physical therapy on pain and disability alleviation in patients with chronic low back pain (cLBP) has been demonstrated, but the risk factors for treatment failure remain unknown. AIM: To explore the associations of baseline demographic and clinical characteristics with treatment failure after physical therapy intervention for cLBP. DESIGN: A secondary analysis of a single-blind randomized clinical trial. SETTING: A rehabilitation hospital. POPULATION: A total of 98 patients with cLBP completed the 12-month measurement. METHODS: Patients were randomly grouped into 3-month therapeutic aquatic exercise or physical therapy modalities. The primary outcome was treatment failure, which was defined as a decrease in the numeric rating scale to less than 2.0 points at 12-month follow-up. Associations between baseline demographic and clinical characteristics with risk of treatment failure were assessed by logistic regressions. RESULTS: The pain intensity in the failure cases was alleviated after 3-month intervention but continuously increased at 6- and 12-month follow-up (P<0.05). Old age was significantly associated with an increased risk of treatment failure (adjusted OR 3.26, 95% CI 1.11-9.60). Compared with those receiving physical therapy modalities, the patients receiving therapeutic aquatic exercise had less risk of treatment failure (adjusted OR 0.19, 95% CI 0.08-0.47), and age (P=0.022) was a modifier for this association. CONCLUSIONS: Compared with younger ones, older patients with cLBP had a higher risk of treatment failure after physical therapy and gained a stronger benefit of long-term pain alleviation from therapeutic aquatic exercise. CLINICAL REHABILITATION IMPACT: Therapeutic aquatic exercise is an effective therapy for cLBP and more helpful for preventing treatment failure than physical therapy modalities, especially for older patients.

RESUMO

Recent years have seen a significant increase in interest in green manufacturing as a key driver of global carbon-neutral efforts and sustainable development. To find the research hotspots of green manufacturing and reveal future research trends, this study reviewed and analyzed research articles from the Web of Science database on green manufacturing from 1991 to 2022 using a bibliometric method. The findings indicate a significant rise in the number of articles related to green manufacturing since the 2010s. Moreover, there has been an increase in the involvement of scholars from developing countries such as China and India in this field. Based on the literature review and bibliometric cluster analysis on green manufacturing, we believed that future research may continue following the lines of intelligent technology integration, adoption of frontier engineering techniques, and industry development in line with carbon reduction targets. A framework for future green manufacturing development is proposed, with a focus on Chinese policies. The framework could provide policy implications for developing countries looking to pursue opportunities for development in green manufacturing.

RESUMO

We demonstrated an AlGaN-based multiple-quantum-well (MQW) deep ultraviolet (DUV) laser at 278 nm using a nanoporous (NP) n-AlGaN as the bottom cladding layer grown on the sapphire substrate. The laser has a very-low-threshold optically pumped power density of 79 kW/cm2 at room temperature and a transverse electric (TE)-polarization-dominant emission. The high optical confinement factor of 9.12% benefiting from the low refractive index of the nanoporous n-AlGaN is the key to enable a low-threshold lasing. The I-V electrical measurement demonstrates that an ohmic contact can be still achieved in the NP n-AlGaN with a larger but acceptable resistance, which indicates it is compatible with electrically driven laser devices. Our work provides insights into the design and fabrication of low-threshold lasers emitting in the DUV regime.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: To assess the correlation of coronary calcium score (CS) obtained by artificial intelligence (AI) with those obtained by electrocardiography gated standard cardiac computed tomography (CCT) and nongated chest computed tomography (ChCT) with different reconstruction kernels. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Seventy-six patients received standard CCT and ChCT simultaneously. We compared CS obtained in 4 groups: CS CCT , by the traditional method from standard CCT, 25 cm field of view, 3 mm slice thickness, and kernel filter convolution 12 (FC12); CS AICCT , by AI from the standard CCT; CS ChCTsoft , by AI from the non-gated CCT, 40 cm field of view, 3 mm slice thickness, and a soft kernel FC02; and CS ChCTsharp , by AI from CCT image with same parameters for CS ChCTsoft except for using a sharp kernel FC56. Statistical analyses included Spearman rank correlation coefficient (ρ), intraclass correlation (ICC), Bland-Altman plots, and weighted kappa analysis (κ). RESULTS: The CS AICCT was consistent with CS CCT (ρ = 0.994 and ICC of 1.00, P < 0.001) with excellent agreement with respect to cardiovascular (CV) risk categories of the Agatston score (κ = 1.000). The correlation between CS ChCTsoft and CS ChCTsharp was good (ρ = 0.912, 0.963 and ICC = 0.929, 0.948, respectively, P < 0.001) with a tendency of underestimation (Bland-Altman mean difference and 95% upper and lower limits of agreements were 329.1 [-798.9 to 1457] and 335.3 [-651.9 to 1322], respectively). The CV risk category agreement between CS ChCTsoft and CS ChCTsharp was moderate (κ = 0.556 and 0.537, respectively). CONCLUSIONS: There was an excellent correlation between CS CCT and CS AICCT , with excellent agreement between CV risk categories. There was also a good correlation between CS CCT and CS obtained by ChCT albeit with a tendency for underestimation and moderate accuracy in terms of CV risk assessment.

RESUMO

Esophageal cancer is a deadly disease, and neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy can improve patient survival, particularly for patients achieving a pathological complete response (ypCR). However, existing imaging methods struggle to accurately predict ypCR. This study explores computer-aided detection methods, considering both imaging data and radiotherapy dose variations to enhance prediction accuracy. It involved patients with node-positive esophageal squamous cell carcinoma undergoing neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy and surgery, with data collected from 2014 to 2017, randomly split into five subsets for 5-fold cross-validation. The algorithm DCRNet, an advanced version of OCRNet, integrates RT dose distribution into dose contextual representations (DCR), combining dose and pixel representation with ten soft regions. Among the 80 enrolled patients (mean age 55.68 years, primarily male, with stage III disease and middle-part lesions), the ypCR rate was 28.75%, showing no significant demographic or disease differences between the ypCR and non-ypCR groups. Among the three summarization methods, the maximum value across the CTV method produced the best results with an AUC of 0.928. The HRNetV2p model with DCR performed the best among the four backbone models tested, with an AUC of 0.928 (95% CI, 0.884-0.972) based on 5-fold cross-validation, showing significant improvement compared to other models. This underscores DCR-equipped models' superior AUC outcomes. The study highlights the potential of dose-guided deep learning in ypCR prediction, necessitating larger, multicenter studies to validate the results.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Controversy exists as to the optimal treatment approach for ostial left anterior descending (LAD) or ostial left circumflex artery (LCx) lesions. Drug-coated balloons (DCB) may overcome some of the limitations of drug-eluting stents (DES). Therefore, we investigated the security and feasibility of the DCB policy in patients with ostial LAD or ostial LCx lesions, and compared it with the conventional DES-only strategy. METHODS: We retrospectively enrolled patients with de novo ostial lesions in the LAD or LCx who underwent interventional treatment. They were categorized into two groups based on their treatment approach: the DCB group and the DES group. The treatment strategies in the DCB group involved the use of either DCB-only or hybrid strategies, whereas the DES group utilized crossover or precise stenting techniques. Two-year target lesion revascularization was the primary endpoint, while the rates of major adverse cardiovascular events, cardiac death, target vessel myocardial infarction, and vessel thrombosis were the secondary endpoints. Using propensity score matching, we assembled a cohort with comparable baseline characteristics. To ensure result analysis reliability, we conducted sensitivity analyses, including interaction, and stratified analyses. RESULTS: Among the 397 eligible patients, 6.25% of patients who were planned to undergo DCB underwent DES. A total of 108 patients in each group had comparable propensity scores and were included in the analysis. Two-year target lesion revascularization occurred in 5 patients (4.90%) and 16 patients (16.33%) in the DCB group and the DES group, respectively (odds ratio = 0.264, 95% CI: 0.093-0.752, P = 0.008). Compared with the DES group, the DCB group demonstrated a lower major adverse cardiovascular events rate (7.84% vs. 19.39%, P = 0.017). However, differences with regard to cardiac death, non-periprocedural target vessel myocardial infarction, and definite or probable vessel thrombosis between the groups were non-significant. CONCLUSIONS: The utilization of the DCB approach signifies an innovative and discretionary strategy for managing isolated ostial lesions in the LAD or LCx. Nevertheless, a future randomized trial investigating the feasibility and safety of DCB compared to the DES-only strategy specifically for de novo ostial lesions in the LAD or LCx is highly warranted.

RESUMO

Algal-bacterial symbiosis systems have emerged as sustainable methods for the treatment of new pollutants and the recovery of resources. However, the bio-refinery of biomass derived from microalgae is inefficient and expensive. In order to simultaneously degrade antibiotic and recover resources efficiently, two algal-bacterial symbiosis systems were constructed using Pseudomonas aeruginosa (alginate overproduction) and Bacillus subtilis (poly-γ-glutamic acid overproduction) with amoxicillin-degrading-microalga Prototheca zopfii W1. The optimal conditions for W1 to degrade amoxicillin are 35 °C, pH 7, and 180 rpm. In the presence of 5-50 mg/L of amoxicillin, W1-P. aeruginosa and W1-B. subtilis exhibit higher amoxicillin degradation and produce more extracellular polymers than W1 or bacteria alone. The metabolomic analysis demonstrates that the algal-bacterial symbiosis enhances the tolerance of W1 to amoxicillin by altering carbohydrate metabolism and promotes the production of biopolymers by upregulating the precursors synthesis. Moreover, the removal of amoxicillin (10 mg/L) from livestock effluent by W1-P. aeruginosa and W1-B. subtilis is greater than 90 % in 3 days, and the maximum yields of alginate and poly-γ-glutamate are 446.1 and 254.3 mg/g dry cell weight, respectively. These outcomes provide theoretical support for the application of algal-bacterial symbiosis systems to treatment of amoxicillin wastewater and efficient production of biopolymers.

RESUMO

The present study aimed to test the synbiotic PoultryStar® solUS delivered in ovo to evaluate its effect on hatchability, productive performance and meat quality, compared to its post-hatch administration in water. On the twelfth day of embryonic incubation, 1200 fertile eggs were divided into synbiotic groups injected with 2 mg/embryo (T1) and 3 mg/embryo (T2), a saline group injected with physiological saline and an uninjected control group (C). After hatching, 120 male chicks/group were reared and chicks from the saline group were supplemented with the synbiotic via drinking water (T3). Hatchability was low in both T1 and T2 groups. Growth performance was not affected by the treatments. However, in the second rearing phase (15-36 days), birds from the C and T3 groups were heavier than T1 birds, due to a higher feed intake and daily weight gain. Neither route of synbiotic administration influenced final body weight (at 56 days), weight and yield of the carcass or commercial cuts. Physico-chemical properties, total lipid, cholesterol and fatty acid composition of breast muscle were not affected by the treatments. Considering its exploratory nature, this study has raised many questions that need further investigation, such as the bioactive combination and the effect on embryonic development.

RESUMO

To overcome the drawbacks of high solubility and instability of polyoxometalates (POMs) in aqueous solution and to expand their application in the electrocatalytic reduction of CO2 (ECR), we assemble sandwich-type POMs, K10[(PW9O34)2M4(H2O)2] (M = Mn, Ni, Zn, shortened as P2W18M4), into the hexagonal channel of a porphyrin-based metal-organic framework (MOF) PCN-222 to form P2W18M4@PCN-222 composites. Their ECR behavior displays polyoxoanion-dependent activity. P2W18Mn4@PCN-222 demonstrates a faradaic efficiency of 72.6% for the CO product (FECO), more than four times that of PCN-222 (FECO = 18.1%), and exhibits exceptional electrochemical stability over 36 h. P2W18Ni4@PCN-222 and P2W18Zn4@PCN-222 slightly increase (26.9%) and decrease (3.2%) in FECO, respectively. We combine the results with density functional theory (DFT) calculations to help understand the intrinsic reasons which reveals that the rate-determining step (RDS) reaction energy of P2W18Mn4@PCN-222 and P2W18Ni4@PCN-222 is significantly reduced compared to that of PCN-222. It is different in P2W18Zn4@PCN-222. Frontier molecular orbitals electron distribution results hint at directional electron transfer from P2W18Mn4/P2W18Ni4 to the porphyrin ring active center in PCN-222, promoting the electro-reduction of CO2 activity. By contrast, P2W18Zn4 may accumulate electrons from PCN-222, thus facilitating the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). This work reveals the critical role of sandwich-type POMs in manipulating the electron transfer pathway during the electrocatalytic process. Our findings would broaden the scope of POM applications in electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction.

RESUMO

Background: Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) is a chronic autoimmune disease that poses a risk factor for papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). The present study aimed to identify the key genes shared by HT and PTC for advancing the current understanding of their shared pathogenesis and molecular mechanisms. Methods: HT- and PTC-related datasets (GSE138198 and GSE33630, respectively) were retrieved from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. Genes significantly related to the PTC phenotype were identified using weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA). Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified between PTC and healthy samples from GSE33630, and between HT and normal samples from GSE138198. Subsequently, functional enrichment analysis was performed using Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG). Transcription factors and miRNAs regulating the common genes in PTC and HT were forecasted using the Harmonizome and miRWalk databases, respectively, and drugs targeting these genes were investigated using the Drug-Gene Interaction Database (DGIdb). The key genes in both GSE138198 and GSE33630 were further identified via Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) analysis. The expression of key genes was verified in external validation set and clinical samples using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) and immunohistochemistry (IHC). Results: In total, 690 and 1945 DEGs were associated with PTC and HT, respectively; of these, 56 were shared and exhibited excellent predictive accuracy in the GSE138198 and GSE33630 cohorts. Notably, four genes, Alcohol Dehydrogenase 1B (ADH1B), Active BCR-related (ABR), alpha-1 antitrypsin (SERPINA1), and lysophosphatidic acid receptor 5 (LPAR5) were recognized as key genes shared by HT and PTC. Subsequently, EGR1 was identified as a common transcription factor regulating ABR, SERPINA1, and LPAR5 expression. These findings were confirmed using qRT-PCR and immunohistochemical analysis. Conclusion: Four (ADH1B, ABR, SERPINA1, and LPAR5) out of 56 common genes exhibited diagnostic potential in HT and PTC. Notably, this study, for the first time, defined the close relationship between ABR and HT/PTC progression. Overall, this study provides a basis for understanding the shared pathogenesis and underlying molecular mechanisms of HT and PTC, which might help improve patient diagnosis and prognosis.

RESUMO

Although the plant kingdom provides an enormous diversity of metabolites with potentially beneficial applications for humankind, a large fraction of these metabolites and their biosynthetic pathways remain unknown. Resolving metabolite structures and their biosynthetic pathways is key to gaining biological understanding and to allow metabolic engineering. In order to retrieve novel biosynthetic genes involved in specialized metabolism, we developed a novel untargeted method designated as qualitative trait GWAS (QT-GWAS) that subjects qualitative metabolic traits to a genome-wide association study, while the conventional metabolite GWAS (mGWAS) mainly considers the quantitative variation of metabolites. As a proof of the validity of QT-GWAS, 23 and 15 of the retrieved associations identified in Arabidopsis thaliana by QT-GWAS and mGWAS, respectively, were supported by previous research. Furthermore, seven gene-metabolite associations retrieved by QT-GWAS were confirmed in this study through reverse genetics combined with metabolomics and/or in vitro enzyme assays. As such, we established that CYTOCHROME P450 706A5 (CYP706A5) is involved in the biosynthesis of chroman derivatives, UDP-GLYCOSYLTRANSFERASE 76C3 (UGT76C3) is able to hexosylate guanine in vitro and in planta, and SULFOTRANSFERASE 202B1 (SULT202B1) catalyzes the sulfation of neolignans in vitro. Collectively, our study demonstrates that the untargeted QT-GWAS method can retrieve valid gene-metabolite associations at the level of enzyme-encoding genes, even new associations that cannot be found by the conventional mGWAS, providing a new approach for dissecting qualitative metabolic traits.

RESUMO

Two-dimensional (2D) material-based photodetectors, especially those working in the infrared band, have shown great application potential in the thermal imaging, optical communication, and medicine fields. Designing 2D material photodetectors with broadened detection band and enhanced responsivity has become an attractive but challenging research direction. To solve this issue, we report a zirconium trisulfide (ZrS3) infrared photodetector with enhanced and broadened response with the assistance of the synergistic effects of extrinsic photoconduction and photogating effect. The ZrS3 photodetectors can detect infrared light up to 2 µm by extrinsic photoconduction and exhibit a responsivity of 100 mA W-1 under 1550 nm illumination. Furthermore, the ZrS3 infrared photodetectors with an oxide layer show a triple enhanced responsivity due to the photogating effect. Additionally, the infrared imaging capability of the ZrS3 infrared photodetectors is also demonstrated. This work provides a potential way to extend the response range and improve the responsivity for nanomaterial-based photodetectors at the same time.

RESUMO

Germline pathogenic variants of BRCA1 or BRCA2 cause hereditary breast and ovarian cancer syndromes. The present study investigated the participants' understanding and awareness of germline BRCA1/2 pathogenic variants before genetic counseling, the expectations and obstacles for genetic testing from the perspective of participants and their families, and their attitudes towards genetic testing after counseling. In this single-country, multicenter, non-interventional, patient-reported outcome study, untested cancer patients and their families who visited genetic counseling clinics or who wanted to receive pre-test genetic counseling were eligible to fill in the questionnaire after pre-test counseling for germline BRCA1/2 testing. Demographic information, clinical characteristics, and information collected from the questionnaires, including the understanding of BRCA1/2 pathogenic variants before genetic counseling, understanding of BRCA1/2 pathogenic variants and feelings after genetic counseling, willingness to share results of genetic testing with family, and willingness to receive genetic testing, were summarized using descriptive statistics. A total of 88 participants were enrolled. The proportion of slight understanding of BRCA1/2 pathogenic variants increased from 11.4% to 67.0%, and the proportion of full understanding increased from 0% to 8.0%. After genetic counseling, most participants were willing to undergo genetic testing (87.5%) and share the results with their families (96.6%). The main factors that may affect participants' willingness to undergo BRCA1/2 testing were management (61.2%) and testing costs (25.9%). After pre-test counseling, there was a high acceptance of BRCA1/2 testing and in-family information sharing in Taiwanese patients with cancer and their families, which may serve as a reference for implementing genetic counseling in Taiwan.

Background: As a device for percutaneous coronary intervention, drug-coated balloon (DCB) is widely used to treat in-stent restenosis. However, data regarding the use of DCB in treating de novo saphenous vein graft (SVG) lesions are limited. This study aimed to explore the outcomes of using the DCB in the treatment of de novo SVG lesions of coronary heart disease (CHD). Methods: This retrospective and observational study analyzed CHD patients with de novo SVG lesions treated with DCB or the new-generation drug-eluting stent (DES) between January 2018 and December 2020. Restenosis was the primary endpoint, whereas target lesion revascularization (TLR), major adverse cardiac events, restenosis, cardiac death, target vessel revascularization, and myocardial infarction were the secondary outcomes. Results: We enrolled 31 and 23 patients treated with DCB and DES, respectively. The baseline clinical data, lesion characteristics, and procedural characteristics were similar between the two groups. Twenty-eight (90.3%) patients in the DCB group and 21 (91.3%) in the DES group completed follow-up angiography after 1 year. The quantitative coronary angiography measurements at angiographic follow-up showing late lumen loss were -0.07 ± 0.95 mm for the DCB group and 0.86 ± 0.71 mm for the DES group (P = 0.039), and the rates of restenosis were 13.3% and 21.7% for the DCB and DES groups, respectively (P = 0.470). No significant differences were observed in the rates of MACE (16.7% vs. 26.1%, P = 0.402) and TLR (13.3% vs. 4.3%, P = 0.374) during clinical follow-up. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that when pre-dilatation was successful, DCB might be safe and effective in treating de novo SVG lesions.

RESUMO

Short-wave infrared detectors are increasingly important in the fields of autonomous driving, food safety, disease diagnosis, and scientific research. However, mature short-wave infrared cameras such as InGaAs have the disadvantage of complex heterogeneous integration with complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) readout circuits, leading to high cost and low imaging resolution. Herein, a low-cost, high-performance, and high-stability Tex Se1- x short-wave infrared photodiode detector is reported. The Tex Se1- x thin film is fabricated through CMOS-compatible low-temperature evaporation and post-annealing process, showcasing the potential of direct integration on the readout circuit. The device demonstrates a broad-spectrum response of 300-1600 nm, a room-temperature specific detectivity of 1.0 × 1010 Jones, a -3 dB bandwidth up to 116 kHz, and a linear dynamic range of over 55 dB, achieving the fastest response among Te-based photodiode devices and a dark current density 7 orders of magnitude smaller than Te-based photoconductive and field-effect transistor devices. With a simple Si3 N4 packaging, the detector shows high electric stability and thermal stability, meeting the requirements for vehicular applications. Based on the optimized Tex Se1- x photodiode detector, the applications in material identification and masking imaging is demonstrated. This work paves a new way for CMOS-compatible infrared imaging chips.
