RESUMO

The field of oncology has made remarkable progress over the past two decades. With the aging of the population, the number of cancer survivors is increasing. At the same time, cancer therapy-related cardiovascular toxicity (CTR-CVT) has become an important cause that seriously affects the quality of life and survival of cancer patients. In this context, cardio-oncology, an emerging interdisciplinary field, emerged. The types and treatment strategies of oncological diseases are heterogeneous, and the management of cancer patients also requires the participation of multiple disciplines. Currently, there are still insufficient clinical research and evidence-based practice in the field of cardio-oncology, resulting in a lack of standardization in its diagnosis and treatment. Additionally, the training model of physicians in cardio-oncology is still being explored. This article provides a comprehensive exploration of the opportunities and challenges faced by physicians and researchers in the field of cardio-oncology. It also delves into the prevailing landscape of clinical research in China and outlines the future training model for physicians in cardio-oncology.

RESUMO

Objective: To study the clinical features and related factors of invasive pulmonary aspergillosis (IPA) in patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD). Methods: This retrospective study enrolled patients hospitalized for AECOPD in ten tertiary hospitals of China from September 2017 to July 2021. AECOPD patients with IPA were included as case group, AECOPD patients without IPA were randomly selected as control group from the same hospitals and same hospitalization period as the patients with IPA using the random function in the software of Microsoft Excel 2003, at a ratio of 2∶1. The clinical characteristics, treatment and outcome were compared between the two groups. Binary logistic regression model was used to analyze the factors associated with IPA in AECOPD patients. Results: A total of 14 007 inpatients with AECOPD were included in this study, and 300 patients were confirmed to have IPA, with an incidence rate of 2.14%. According to the above matching method, 600 AECOPD patients without aspergillus infection were enrolled as the control group. The age of the case group and the control group were (72.5±9.7) and (73.5±10.3) years old, with 78.0%(n=234) male and 76.8%(n=461) male, respectively. There were no significant differences in age and gender composition between the two groups (all P>0.05). The prognosis of case group was significantly worse than that of the control group, with longer hospital stay [M(Q1,Q3)], [14 (10-20) d vs 11 (8-15) d, P<0.001], higher ICU admission rate [16.3% (49 case) vs 10.0% (60 case), P=0.006], higher in-hospital mortality [4.0% (12 cases) vs 1.3% (8 cases), P=0.011], and higher hospitalization costs (28 000 ¥ vs 13 700 ¥, P<0.001). The smoking index of the case group and proportions of patients with diabetes mellitus, chronic pulmonary heart disease in the case group were significantly higher than those in control group (all P<0.05). In terms of clinical features, the proportions of patients with cough, expectoration, purulent sputum, hemoptysis and fever in the case group were higher than those in the control group, the serum albumin was significantly lower than that in the control group, and the proportions of patients with bronchiectasis and pulmonary bullae on imaging were significantly higher than those in the control group (all P<0.05). Diabetes (OR=1.559, 95%CI: 1.084-2.243), chronic pulmonary heart disease (OR=1.476, 95%CI: 1.075-2.028), bronchiectasis (OR=1.506, 95%CI: 1.092-2.078), pulmonary bullae (OR=1.988, 95%CI: 1.475-2.678) and serum albumin<35 g/L (OR=1.786, 95%CI: 1.325-2.406) were the related factors of IPA in patients with AECOPD. Conclusions: The incidence of IPA in AECOPD patients is relatively high and the prognosis of these patients is worse. Diabetes, chronic pulmonary heart disease, bronchiectasis, pulmonary bulla, hypoproteinemia are the related factors of IPA in patients with AECOPD.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Head-up tilt test (HUTT) is clinically advantageous for diagnosing patients with vasovagal syncope (VVS). Nitroglycerin is mainly used as a stimulant during HUTT, and mitochondrial aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH2) is involved in the metabolism of nitroglycerin (NTG). ALDH2 Glu487Lys polymorphism (ALDH2 rs671) is the most common variant in the East Asian population. This study aimed to assess the effects of ALDH2 rs671 on VVS patients undergoing HUTT supplemented with sublingual NTG (HUTT-NTG).  METHODS: Patients with recurrent VVS (at least 2 times) who were admitted to the syncope center of our hospital were enrolled. All VVS patients have undergone HUTT. The polymorphism of Glu487Lys gene of ALDH2 was measured by the DNA Microarray Chip Method. The results of HUTT-NTG of VVS patients with different ALDH2 genotypes were compared and their hemodynamic characteristics were assessed. RESULTS: A total of 199 VVS patients were enrolled, including 101 patients in the ALDH2*1/*1 group and 98 patients in the ALDH2*2 group. Among patients undergoing HUTT-NTG, 70.3% of patients in the ALDH2*1/*1 group and 68.4% of patients in the ALDH2*2 group were positive, and the difference between the two groups was not statistically significant (P = 0.77). The proportions of VASIS I, VASIS II, and VASIS III were 40.6%, 8.9%, and 20.8% in the ALDH2*1/*1 group, respectively, and the corresponding proportions in the ALDH2*2 group were 36.7%, 11.2%, and 20.4%, respectively. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups (P = 0.91). The hemodynamic characteristics of different genotypes in VVS patients undergoing HUTT-NTG were compared, and no statistically significant difference was found. The median time of syncopal episode occurred after NTG administration in the ALDH2*1/*1 group was 6 min (interquartile range [IQR]: 5.0-9.0), and it was 6.0 min in the ALDH2*2 group (IQR: 4.25-8.0, P = 0.64). CONCLUSION: ALDH2 Glu487Lys polymorphism did not affect the outcome of VVS patients undergoing HUTT-NTG, and no significant change in the hemodynamic characteristics of different genotypes was found.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To explore the effect of WDSUB1 on dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced inflammatory colon injury in mice and the underlying mechanism. METHODS: Different WDSUB1 siRNA sequences were transfected into mouse fibroblast L929 cells and the optimal sequence was selected by Western blotting. Twelve male C57BL/6 mice were randomized into two groups for injection of siWDSUB1 or siControl via the caudal vein, followed by treatment with 2.5% DSS in drinking water to establish mouse models of DSS- induced colitis (n=6). The expression level of WDSUB1 in the colon tissue of the mice was detected with Western blotting and RT-PCR, the changes in body weight and fecal condition were recorded, and the clinical symptoms of the mice were evaluated. The mRNA expression levels of IL-6, COX-2 and TNF-α and the protein expression of IκBα and P65 in the colon tissues were detected with RT- PCR and Western blotting, respectively. RESULTS: The mRNA and protein expressions of WDSUB1 in the colon tissues were significantly lower in colitis mice with WDSUB1 knock-down than in the control mice. Compared with the control mice, the mice receiving siWDSUB1 injection showed obviously milder weight loss, diarrhea and hematochezia with significantly lower mRNA expressions of COX2, IL-6 and TNFα (P < 0.05) and protein expression of IκBα but without obvious changes in P65 expression in the colon tissue. CONCLUSION: WDSUB1 knockdown can alleviate DSS- induced colitis in mice possibly by inhibiting the NF-κB signaling pathway and decreasing the expression of inflammatory factors in the colon tissues.

RESUMO

Objective: To explore the association between syncope and poor prognosis and related factors of syncope in patients with acute pulmonary embolism (APE). Methods: A total of 740 patients with first diagnosed APE treated in West China Hospital of Sichuan University from September 1, 2016 to December 30, 2019 were enrolled. The basic information and clinical information (including clinical manifestations, complications, auxiliary examination, treatment and prognosis, etc.) of the patients were obtained from inpatient medical records. The patients were divided into the syncope group and the non-syncope group according to whether they had syncope or not. The basic and clinical conditions of the two groups were compared, and the factors related to syncope in APE patients were analyzed by multiple logistic regression model. Results: The proportion of APE patients with syncope was 12.6% (93/740). Age was (59±16) years in the syncope group (93 cases) and (59±17) years in the non-syncope group (647 cases), with 57.0% (53/93) and 60.4% (391/647) males, respectively. The body mass index, in-hospital mortality, proportions with high risk APE and mechanical ventilation of the syncope group were higher than those of the non-syncope group [(24.5±4.0) kg/m2 vs (23.3±3.8) kg/m2, 16.1% vs 7.7%, 4.4% vs 1.3% and 9.7% vs 2.5%, respectively]. The length of hospital stay [M (Q1, Q3)] of the syncope group was longer than that of the non-syncope group [15 (10, 22) d vs 14 (9, 22) d], and the proportions with chest pain and hemoptysis were lower than those of the non-syncope group (19.4% vs 36.8% and 14.0% vs 27.2%, respectively) (all P values<0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that enlargement of the right heart [OR (95%CI): 2.46 (1.07, 5.64)] was a factor associated with syncope in APE patients. Conclusion: The proportion of APE patients with syncope is relatively high and is associated with poor prognosis, while enlargement of the right heart is associated with syncope in APE patients.

RESUMO

Objective: To explore the effects of K-ras gene on the expressions of oncogenes and cancer suppressor genes in human bronchial epithelial (HBE) cells which were exposed to PM(2.5). Methods: According to the mRNA sequence of K-ras gene provided by GenBank in September 2019, interference sequences were designed and synthesized, and the recombinant lentiviral vector was transfected into HBE cell to construct the K-ras gene-silenced cells. HBE cells and K-ras gene-silenced cells were exposed to 10 µg/ml, 50 µg/ml PM(2.5) suspension and 10 µmol/L Cr(6+). Real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR was used to detect the mRNA expression levels of c-myc, c-fos, N-ras, cyclin-D1, p16 and p53 genes, the expression levels of p53 and c-myc proteins were detected by Western blot. Results: In K-ras silenced cell group, K-ras mRNA expression level decreased (80.5%±3.6%) and K-ras protein level decreased (58.9%±4.7%) when compared with the control group (P<0.01) . Compared with the correspoding cell control group without exposure, the mRNA expression levels of c-myc, c-fos, N-ras and cyclin-D1 genes in HBE cell group exposed to different concentrations of PM(2.5), K-ras silenced cell group exposed to different concentrations of PM(2.5), HBE cell group exposed to 10 µmol/L Cr(6+) and K-ras silenced cell group exposed to 10 µmol/L Cr(6+) were increased, the mRNA expressions of p16 and p53 genes were decreased (P<0.01) . Compared with HBE cell group exposed to 10 µg/ml PM(2.5), the mRNA expressions of c-myc, c-fos and p16 genes in K-ras silenced cells exposed to 10 µg/ml PM(2.5) were decreased, and the p53 mRNA level was increased (P<0.01) . Compared with HBE cell group exposed to 50 µg/ml PM(2.5), the mRNA expression levels of c-fos, N-ras, cyclin-D1, p16 and p53 genes in K-ras silenced cell group exposed to 50 µg/ml PM(2.5) were decreased (P<0.01) . Compared with the HBE cell group without exposure, c-myc protein increased and p53 protein decreased in HBE cells exposed to 50 µg/ml PM(2.5) (P<0.05) . Compared with the K-ras silenced cell group without exposure, c-myc protein increased in K-ras silenced cells exposed to 50 µg/ml PM(2.5) (P<0.05) . Conclusion: PM(2.5) can increase the expression levels of oncogenes in HBE cells, and K-ras gene silencing can inhibit the expression levels of oncogenes in HBE cells treated with PM(2.5).

RESUMO

Objective: To investigate the status of height and weight of 3-18-year-old children and adolescents in urban China, and to provide a basis for establishing puberty phase specific curves for age-specific height and age-specific weight. Methods: A cross-sectional survey of 218 185 children and adolescents aged 3-18 years in urban China was conducted by using the method of stratified random cluster sampling from January 2017 to December 2019. The sampling areas included 12 provinces municipalities in China and autonomous regions in total. Data were collected on weight, height, waist circumference, hip circumference and secondary sexual characteristics. The generalized additive model for location, scale, and shape (GAMLSS) was employed to establish percentile reference values and growth curves of height and weight for boys and girls aged 3-18 years. Wilcoxon rank sum test was applied to compare the P50 value of height and weight between children of each Tanner stage and children of the same age ignoring the different puberty phase. Results: The 3rd, 50th, and 97th percentile curves for height and weight for age were developed for boys and girls aged 3-18 years. The 3rd, 50th, and 97th percentile curves for age-specific height and age-specific weight for each puberty phase were developed for boys and girls. Compared with all children ignoring the different puberty phase, boys aged 9 and over and girls aged 7 and over who are at Tanner stage 1 showed shorter height and lighter weight than those of the same age group (all P<0.01), the difference ranges of height at P50 are -4.0 to -0.6 cm for boys, and -4.4 to 0.5 cm for girls; the difference ranges of weight are -4.8 to 0.4 kg for boys, and -4.0 to -0.3 kg for girls; children at Tanner stage 2 & 3 initially were taller and heavier than those of the same age group; and later grew shorter and lighter than those of the same age group, the two sets of curves cross over; boys aged 16 and under and girl aged under 14 who are at Tanner stage 4 were taller and heavier than those of the same age group (all P<0.01), the difference ranges of height at P50 are 0.2 to 10.0 cm for boys, and 0.2 to 9.4 cm for girls; the difference ranges of weight at P50 are 0.7 to 10.9 kg for boys, and 1.0 to 11.2 kg for girls, and the differences showed narrowing trend with age. Conclusion: The puberty phase specific growth curves of age-specific height and age-specific weight for boys and girls aged 3-18 years are established, it is useful for clinical work to evaluate physical development of children at different puberty phases.

RESUMO

Objective: To assess the immediate and mid-term outcomes and hospital costs of patients who underwent trans-catheter closure (TC) or surgical closure (SC) of perivalvular leakage (PVL). Methods: Patients who underwent treatment of TC and SC of PVL in our center between January 2016 and December 2019 were enrolled. Baseline characteristics, procedure success, in-hospital and mid-term outcomes and hospital costs were compared. Results: A total of 141 patients were enrolled (TC, n=65 and SC, n=76). The patients in TC group were elder ((56.8±12.8) years vs (50.1±12.8) years, t=-3.124, P=0.002). Technical success was significant higher in the SC group (83.1% vs 98.7%, χ²=10.960, P<0.001). And the residual PVLs were less in SC group (33.3% vs 13.3%, χ²=-2.525, P=0.012). One patient in SC group had procedure-related death. Procedure room time ((93±38) min vs (395±132) min, t=19.065, P<0.001), intensive care unit time (0 h vs 28 (21, 74)h, Z=-10.738, P<0.001), length of stay from hospitalization to discharge (7 (4, 10) days vs 21 (15, 25) days, Z=-8.075, P<0.001) and costs (¥46 073 (36 837, 52 448) vs ¥130 798 (104 048, 186 188), Z=-10.059, P<0.001) were significantly less in TC group. After risk adjustment, there was no significant difference in 30 days survival between TC group and SC group. At a median follow-up of 21 months, there was a trend towards reduced all-cause death following TC versus SC (OR = 0.054, 95%CI: 0.07 to 0.445, P= 0.007). Conclusions: SC for PVL is associated with higher technical rates and less residual shunt compared with TC approach. But, the shorter length of stay and lower resources use with TC group significantly reduce hospital costs. In addition, TC achieve a better mid-term results in survival.

RESUMO

AIM: To examine the prognostic value of global peak diastolic strain rate (PDSR) derived from cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) tissue tracking (CMR-TT) in predicting adverse outcomes in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) patients. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 98 patients diagnosed with HCM (44 patients had left ventricle [LV] outflow tract obstruction [LVOTO] and 54 patients did not) were enrolled and followed for the specified endpoint. LV global myocardial mechanics was assessed in all participants using CMR-TT at study entry. RESULTS: Compared with the non-obstructive subgroup, the obstructive subgroup demonstrated deteriorated magnitude of LV global radial, circumferential, and longitudinal PDSR (all p<0.05). After a mean follow-up period of 4.5 years, 24 patients reached an endpoint before the end of the study. Furthermore, when using the specified cut-off value (0.33 1/s) of longitudinal PDSR, the Kaplan-Meier curve demonstrated that patients with lower longitudinal PDSR had a significantly lower freedom from major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) compared with their counterparts in the non-obstructive, obstructive, and overall cohorts (all log-rank p<0.05). Multivariable analysis showed that longitudinal PDSR remained the strongest predictor of outcome after adjusting for baseline and CMR variables (hazard ratio, 2.65; 95% confidence interval, 2.21-11.44; p<0.05). CONCLUSION: CMR-TT-derived longitudinal PDSR is probably considered a novel and easy-to-perform marker for predicting adverse outcomes in HCM patients, which is beneficial to risk stratification. Further confirmatory studies are needed.

RESUMO

Objective: To explore the influencing factors on perinatal mortality of pregnant women with HIV infection to reduce the mother-to-child transmission in Sichuan province. Methods: In this study, 4 786 perinatal infants of the HIV-infected pregnant women were included. Related data on perinatal epidemiology was reported by all the 183 medical and health care institutions where the HIV prevention of mother-to-child transmission program was initiated in 2005-2016. Univariate χ(2) test and multivariate logistic regression methods were used to analyze the perinatal mortality outcomes and influencing factors. Results: The overall perinatal mortality rate was 25.7‰ (123/4 786) among HIV-infected pregnant women, with annual downwarding trend (trend χ(2)=32.220, P=0.000). Perinatal mortality rate appeared the highest (χ(2)=4.130, P=0.042), with more fetal deaths and stillbirths and less early neonatal death within 7 days in Liangshan county (χ(2)=29.626, P=0.000). Results from the multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that fewer pregnant numbers would contribute to the, lower perinatal mortality rate (1-2 pregnancies OR=0.417, 95%CI: 0.184-0.943; 3-4 pregnancies OR=0.447, 95%CI: 0.223-0.895). Perinatal deaths were more likely to be prevented if LPV/r protease inhibitor-based triple antiviral therapy was provided (OR=0.530, 95%CI: 0.285- 0.986) or delivery was taken place in the hospital (hospital of municipal-level and above OR=0.222, 95%CI:0.098-0.499; county-level hospital OR=0.282, 95%CI: 0.166-0.480; township-level hospital OR=0.134, 95%CI: 0.031-0.586) among HIV-infected pregnant women. However, premature delivery or neonatal asphyxia would increase the risk of perinatal mortality (premature delivery OR=8.285, 95%CI: 5.073-13.533; neonatal asphyxia OR=9.624, 95%CI: 4.625-20.028). Conclusions: The perinatal mortality rate of HIV-infected pregnant women appeared significantly higher than that in the province or the whole country. Strategies involving LPV/r-based triple antiviral therapy, promotion of hospital delivery, reducing the incidence rates of premature deliveries and neonatal asphyxia, should be strengthened.

RESUMO

Objective: To analyze the HIV positive detection rate from different detection channels in Chinese medical institutions. Methods: A Meta-analysis was conducted. First of all, the literature on HIV testing of medical institutions in China was systematically searched on China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform, VIP Information Chinese journal Service platform and PubMed. Secondly, a self-made information table was used to collect the basic information, HIV positive number and test number of the literature. Finally, R 4.0.2 software was used to calculate the pooled HIV detection rate and 95%CI of the whole population, detection approaches subgroups and regions subgroups, and then the forest map was drawn. Funnel plot was used to analyze publication bias. Results: A total of 45 studies which covered 22 provinces. Meta analysis showed that the pooled HIV positive rate was 0.82‰ (95%CI: 0.62‰-1.04‰). Subgroup analysis showed that the HIV positive rate of STD outpatient was the highest (3.01‰ (95%CI: 1.76‰-4.58‰), followed by other patients (1.43‰ (95%CI: 1.00‰-1.93‰)). The HIV positive rate of western China was the highest (1.14‰ (95%CI: 0.72‰-1.63‰)). The HIV positive rate in 2008-2017 was higher than in 2000-2007. The Egger test indicated no publication bias (t=-0.737, P=0.465). Conclusion: The HIV positive detection rate of patients in medical institutions in China was at a low level, but the positive rate of patients in STD clinics was relatively high. Therefore, the HIV testing should be further expanded in this population. Secondly, HIV screening should be strengthened for other patients.

RESUMO

Objective: To determine whether 60 Gy is superior to standard 50 Gy for definitive concurrent chemoradiation(CCRT) in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) using modern radiation technology in a phase Ⅲ prospective randomized trial. Methods: From April 2013 to May 2017, 331 patients from 22 hospitals who were pathologically confirmed with stage ⅢA-ⅣA ESCC were randomized to 60 Gy or 50 Gy with random number table. Total of 305 patients were analyzed, including 152 in 60 Gy group and 153 in 50 Gy group. The median age was 63 years, 242(79.3%) males and 63(20.7%) females. The median length of primary tumor was 5.6 cm. The clinical characteristics between two groups were comparable. All patients were delivered 2 Gy per fraction, 5 fractions per week. Concurrent weekly chemotherapy with docetaxel (25 mg/m(2)) and cisplatin (25 mg/m(2)) and 2 cycles consolidation chemotherapy with docetaxel (70 mg/m(2)) and cisplatin (25 mg/m(2), d1-3) were administrated. The primary endpoint was local/regional progression-free survival (LRPFS). The data were compared with Pearson chi-square test or Fisher's exact test. Results: At a median follow-up of 27.3 months, the disease progression rate was 37.5% (57/152), 43.8% (67/153) in the high and standard-dose group, respectively (χ(2)=1.251, P=0.263). The 1, 2, 3-year LRPFS rate was 75.4%, 56.8%, 52.1% and 74.2%, 58.4%, 50.1%, respectively (HR: 0.95, 95%CI: 0.69-1.31, P=0.761). The 1, 2, 3-year overall survival rate was 84.1%, 64.8%, 54.1% and 85.4%, 62.9%, 54.0%, respectively (HR: 0.98, 95%CI: 0.71-1.38, P=0.927). The 1, 2, 3-year progression-free survival rate was 70.8%, 54.2%, 48.5% and 65.5%, 51.9%, 45.1%, respectively (HR: 0.93, 95%CI: 0.68-1.26, P=0.621). The incidence rates in toxicities between the two groups were similar except for higher rate of severe pneumonitis in high dose group (χ(2)=11.596, P=0.021). Conclusions: The efficacy in disease control is similar between 60 Gy and 50 Gy using modern radiation technology concurrent with chemotherapy for ESCC. The 50 Gy should be recommended as the regular radiation dose with CCRT for ESCC.

RESUMO

Radiation therapy (RT) is an effective treatment for cancer. Approximately, 70% of cancer patients receive RT in China. The immune-modulating effect of radiation therapy have gained considerable interest in recent years and there have been multiple reports of synergy between radiation and immunotherapy. Regulatory T cells (Tregs) are a group of T cell subsets with immunosuppressive function, which is correlated with cancer. Tregs are involved in the pathogenesis, development, treatment and prognosis of tumors by cell-cell contact, cytokines, and cell metabolism. Based on the immunological characteristics of Tregs, this article reviews the interaction between RT and immune molecules, aiming to provide new ideas for RT combined with immunotherapy.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To explore the correlation between gene polymorphism and opioid efficacy in patients with gastric or intestinal cancer. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Fifty-nine patients who underwent laparoscopic surgery for gastric or intestinal cancer under general anesthesia were included and randomly divided into oxycodone (n=30) and sufentanil groups (n=29) by reproducible random number generation method. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of four alleles: µ-opioid receptor gene OPRM1 A118G, cytochrome P450 (CPY450) enzyme system: CPY3A4*1G, CYP3A5*3, and CYP2D6*10 were detected by PCR-pyrosequencing. Patients in sufentanil group received intravenous sufentanil injection during anesthesia induction, intraoperative maintenance, and postoperative analgesia, while those in oxycodone group received oxycodone. Patients' postoperative VAS score, opioid use, and prevalence of adverse reactions were recorded. RESULTS: The genotype distribution of OPRM1 A118G, CYP3A4*1G, CYP3A5*3, and CYP2D6*10 in Chinese gastric cancer/intestinal cancer patients accorded with the Hardy-Weinberg law (p>0.05). OPRM1 A118G polymorphism correlated with postoperative VAS score and medication dosage, in oxycodone group (p<0.05), while it didn't with those of sufentanil group. The VAS scores in GG group were higher than that in AA group and AG group at T6-T9, (p<0.05); the postoperative pain remedies times in GG group were more than that in the AA and AG groups (p=0.002). CYP3A4*1G polymorphism related to postoperative VAS score, medication dosage and prevalence of adverse reactions in sufentanil group (p<0.05), while it didn't with those of oxycodone group (p>0.05). The total intraoperative medication in AA group was less than that in GG and GA groups (p<0.01), with a higher prevalence of respiratory depression (p=0.01). Nor was there any correlation of CYP3A5*3 and CYP2D6*10 polymorphisms with the efficacy, postoperative VAS score, pain remedies times, postoperative 24 h medication dosage, or prevalence of adverse reactions in oxycodone and sufentanil groups. CONCLUSIONS: Gene polymorphism affects the efficacy and adverse reactions of opioids in patients undergoing laparoscopic gastric or intestinal cancer surgery.
