1. A study was conducted to assess the possibility of totally replacing supplemental phosphorus sources in White Leghorn (WL) layer diets (aged 28 to 45 weeks of age) with microbial phytase supplementation. One thousand commercial layers (HyLine White) of 28 weeks of age were housed in California cages fitted in open-sided poultry shed at the rate of 20 layers in each replicate. Ten replicates were randomly allotted to each treatment, and the respective diet was fed from 28 to 45 weeks of age.2. A control diet (CD) containing the recommended levels of non-phytate phosphorus (3.6 g/kg NPP) and four other test diets (2-5) having sub-optimal levels of NPP (2.4, 2.0, 1.6 and 1.2 g/kg), but with supplemental microbial phytase (600 FTU/kg) were prepared and fed for the trial duration.3. The layers fed with lower levels of NPP with phytase had the same laying performance as the group fed the CD. Egg production, feed efficiency, egg mass, shell defects, egg density, shell weight, shell thickness, ash content and breaking strength of the tibia and sternum were not affected by feeding the lowest concentration of NPP (1.2 g/kg) plus microbial phytase.4. Phytase supplementation in diets with sub-optimal levels of NPP (2.4, 2 and 1.6 g/kg) significantly improved the Haugh unit score compared to those fed the CD.5. It was concluded that supplemental phosphorus can be completely replaced with microbial phytase (600 FTU/kg) in a diet without affecting egg production, shell quality or bone mineral variables in WL layers (28 to 45 weeks).

The three-year Black Carbon (BC) aerosol measurements made during 2020, 2021, and 2022 over a rural location, namely, Panchgaon, surrounded by Aravali hillocks (elevation of about 400-600 m) have been analyzed with an aim to determine their optical and radiative characteristics, seasonal and long-term variations in mass concentration. The affinity between these parameters and associated pollutants and planetary boundary layer height (PBLH), affected by the orography, to delineate their role in mass concentration changes with time have been investigated. The coincident OPAC (Optical Properties of Aerosols and Clouds) Model-derived aerosol optical depth (AOD), and single scattering albedo (SSA) have been compared with the observed BC mass concentration, and also with synchronous satellite measurements. The year-to-year variability analysis of the data reveals that the rate of increase of BC concentration is high. The variability was low due to the reasons explained. It implies that the year-to-year variability in BC concentration at the study site depends on the source strength modulated by the valley-driven meteorology. Added, the percentage departures of BC concentration show positive values (higher concentration) during morning and evening hours, which could be due to more anthropogenic activities while it shows negative values during afternoon hours and lower boundary layer heights. The force exerted by the radiation due to BC aerosols at the bottom of the atmosphere (BOA), and in the atmosphere (ATM) are almost equal in magnitude and negative, while that at the top-of-the-atmosphere (TOA) is smaller and positive, indicating that BC aerosols in the study region cools the atmosphere at the BOA and warms the ATM and TOA, which indirectly reveals the dominant role of long-range transport phenomenon at higher levels as compared to the surface level.

High levels of unconjugated bilirubin (UB) in serum lead to asymptomatic and neonatal jaundice and brain dysfunctions. Herein, we have reported the detection of UB at as low as 1 µM in an aqueous alkaline medium using a Zn(II) complex. The specificity of the complex has been validated by the HPLC in the concentration window 6-90 µM, which is rare. The sensory response of the probe at physiological pH against nitro explosives developed it as an instant-acting fluorosensor for picric acid (PA) and 2,4-dinitrophenol (2,4-DNP). Spectroscopic titration provided a binding constant of 4×105  M-1 with PA. The naked eye detection was found to be 15 µM. The solid-state photoluminescent nature of the complex enabled it for PA sensing in the solid phase. Interestingly, the probe remained fluorescent in various volatile and non-volatile organic solvents. As a result, it can also detect PA and 2,4-DNP in a wide range of common organic media. NMR studies revealed the coordination of PA, 2,4-DNP, and UB to the Zn(II) center of the probe, which is responsible for the observed quenching of the probe with the analytes.

1. A study was conducted to assess the impact of supplementing-graded concentrations of emulsifier on the production performance, gut microbial count, and digestibility of nitrogen and energy in broiler chicken fed diets without AGP.2. Male broiler chicks (n = 1500; Vencobb-430), aged one-day-old, were randomly allocated into six dietary groups each with 10 replicates of 25 birds each. A maize-soybean and meat and bone meal-based basal diet without antibiotic (AGP) growth promoter served as negative control (NC). The basal diet was supplemented with BMD (AGP, bacitracin methylene disalicylate-BMD 100 g/T), which served as the positive control (PC). Emulsifier was added to the NC diets at either 250 g/ton in all phases (250-All), 250 g in starter and grower phases, and 500 g in the finisher phase (250:250:500), 250 g in starter and 500 g in both grower and finisher phases (250:500:500) and 500 g in all phases (500 g-All).3. Two broilers per replicate were slaughtered to record carcase traits and gut microbial count on day 43. There was significant improvement in body weight gain (BWG) and reduced FCR in broilers fed 250:250:500 and 250:500:500 g emulsifiers compared to other treatment groups. Carcase traits and faecal microbial count did not differ among treatments. The inclusion of BMD significantly improved nitrogen (N) digestibility compared to the NC group. The digestibility of emulsifier-supplemented groups was similar to those fed by the BMD group except for the 500-All group, which was an intermediary between NC and other emulsifier-fed groups.4. It was concluded that supplementation with emulsifier (250:250:500 or 250:500:500) without antibiotic growth promoter significantly improved FCR and body weight gain similar to broilers receiving antibiotic growth promoter, which was associated with increased ileal digestibility of N and energy.

In order to guarantee the desired quality of machined products, a reliable surface roughness assessment is essential. Using a surface profile metre with a contact stylus, which can produce accurate measurements of surface profiles, is the most popular technique for determining the surface roughness of machined items. One of the limitations of this technique is the work piece surface degradation brought on by mechanical contact between the stylus and the surface. Hence, in this paper, a roughness assessment technique based on the suggested Taylor-Gorilla troops optimizer-based Deep Neuro-Fuzzy Network (Taylor-GTO based DNFN) is proposed for estimating the surface roughness. Pre-processing, data augmentation, feature extraction, feature fusion, and roughness estimation are the procedures that the suggested technique uses to complete the roughness estimate procedure. Roughness estimation is performed using DNFN that has been trained using Taylor-GTO, which was created by combining the Taylor series with the Gorilla troop's optimizer. The created Taylor-GTO based DNFN model has minimum Mean Absolute Error, Mean Square Error, and RMSE of 0.403, 0.416, and 1.149, respectively.

BACKGROUND: A biological seal that protects the implant from any biological or external impingement is created by the supracrestal attached tissues. Sohn's poncho technique is a technique that utilizes a healing abutment at the implant site to stabilize the platelet rich fibrin (PRF) membrane. Thus, the aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of Sohn's poncho technique used for placement of leukocyte PRF (L-PRF) membrane in improving the peri-implant mucosal thickness and width of keratinized mucosa as well as in the acceleration of healing process compared to the peri-implant mucosa surrounding healing abutments placed without the L-PRF membrane. METHODS: A split mouth randomized controlled clinical trial was designed in which implants were placed in the mandibular posterior region. Healing abutment is placed along with the L-PRF membrane at the test site using Sohn's poncho technique and at control site conventional healing abutment placement was done at second stage. The thickness of peri-implant mucosa as primary outcome and the Width of keratinized tissue and healing as secondary outcomes were measured and assessed at various time intervals. RESULTS: Statistically significant difference was seen in inter-group analysis when peri-implant mucosal thickness (3.8 ± 0.4 mm vs. 2.3 ± 0.4 mm) and width of keratinized mucosa (3.6 ± 0.6 mm vs. 2.7 ± 0.3 mm) in test and control groups respectively and intragroup analysis of test and control groups at 4 weeks and 6 weeks' time points. The control group showed faster healing when compared to the test group. CONCLUSION: Sohn's poncho technique in combination with L-PRF has the potential to improve the thickness of peri-implant mucosa and the width of keratinized mucosa around implants.

Objective: An experiment was conducted to study the effect of supplementing DL methionine (DL Met) at graded concentrations on performance, carcass variables, immune responses and antioxidant variables in broiler chicken fed folic acid (FA) fortified (4mg/kg) low-methionine diet. Methods: A basal diet (BD) without supplemental DL Met, but with higher level (4 mg/kg) of FA and a control diet (CD) with the recommended concentration of methionine (Met) were prepared. The BD was supplemented with DL Met at graded concentrations (0, 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50% supplemental DL Met of CD). Each diet was fed ad libitum to 10 replicates of 5 broiler male chicks in each from 1 to 42 d of age. Results: Body weight gain (BWG) reduced, and feed conversion ratio (FCR) increased in broilers fed low-Met BD. At 30 and 20% inclusion of DL Met, the BWG and FCR were similar to those fed the CD. Similarly, supplementation of 10% DL Met to the BD significantly increased ready to cook meat yield and breast meat weight, which were similar to those of the CD fed broilers. Lipid peroxidation reduced, the activity of antioxidant enzymes (GSHPx and GSHRx) in serum increased and lymphocyte proliferation increased with increased supplemental DL Met level in the BD. The concentrations of total protein and albumin in serum increased with DL Met supplementation to the BD. Conclusion: Based on the data, it can be concluded that supplemental Met can be reduced to less than 50% in broiler chicken diets (4.40, 3.94 and 3.39g/kg, respectively in pre-starter, starter and finisher phases) containing 4 mg/kg FA.

1. An experiment was conducted with White Leghorn layers (Babcock BV 300) to optimise the feed withdrawal schedule for egg-laying hens (67 to 80 weeks) reared in open-sided poultry houses during the tropical summer season.2. Four feeding schedules (1. ad libitum access to the layer feed, 2. feed withdrawal from 9 AM-5 PM, 3. 11 AM-5 PM, and 4. 1 PM-5 PM followed by free access to the layer feed) were examined. Each feeding schedule was offered to 12 replicates consisting of 12 layers housed in four adjacent cages (45.7 × 35.6 × 43.2 cm).3. Fasting the layers from 1-5 pm reduced egg production compared to layers fasting from 9 or 11 am. The FI/egg or unit egg mass was highest in layers fasted from 1-5 pm. In the 9 am-5 pm fasted group, the cloacal temperature (CT) increased significantly at 11 am and gradually reduced at 3 pm. In the 1-5 pm fasted group, the CT remained higher at 3 pm and 5 pm.4. The cell-mediated immune response in layers fasted from 9 am or 11 am was higher than those fed ad libitum or 1-5 pm fasted group. Lipid peroxidation was higher in layers 1-5 pm fasted group, and significantly lower LP was found in groups that fasted from 9 am or 11 am. In general, the activities of serum antioxidant enzymes (glutathione peroxidase, glutathione reductase, superoxide dismutase) were higher in layers that fasted from 9 am or 11 am compared to those that had ad libitum feed or fasted from 1-5 pm.5. It was concluded that the feed withdrawal should be initiated during the forenoon (9 AM/11 am-5 pm) for optimum production and to reduce oxidative stress in egg-laying hens reared during summer in the tropical region.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the implementation of a systematic approach to improve the resuscitation, stabilization, and admission of infants < 32 weeks gestation and also to ascertain its effect on organization, efficiency, and clinical outcomes during hospitalization. METHODS: Retrospective study involving a multidisciplinary team with checklists, role assignment, equipment organization, step by step protocol, and real time documentation for the care of infants < 32 weeks gestation in the delivery room to the neonatal intensive care unit. Pre-data collection (cases) period was from Aug, 2015 to July, 2017, and post-data collection(controls) period was from Aug, 2017 to Aug, 2019. RESULTS: 337 infants were included (179 cases; 158 controls). Increase surfactant use in the resuscitation room (41% vs. 27%, p = 0.007) and reduction in median time to administer surfactant (34 minutes (range, 6-120) vs. 74 minutes (range, 7-120), p = 0.001) observed in control-group. There was a significant reduction in incidence of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (27% vs. 39%), intraventricular hemorrhage (11% vs. 17%), severe retinopathy of prematurity (3% vs. 9%), and necrotizing enterocolitis (4% vs. 6%), however these results were not statistically significant after controlling for severity of illness. CONCLUSIONS: A systematic approach to the care of infants < 32 weeks gestation significantly improved mortality rates and reduced rates of comorbidities.

1. The study was carried out to determine the effects of supplementing organic (OG) or inorganic (IOG) Se to record the performance, immune and anti-oxidant response in broiler chickens.2. One-day-old Vencobb-400 (50.1 ± 0.84 g; n = 280) male broiler chicks were allocated randomly into seven treatments to give eight replicates containing five chicks each and housed in deep littered floor pens (76 cm × 91 cm) for a period of 42 d.3. The control diet (CD) was formulated without any Se supplementation (diet I), CD plus 0.15, 0.30 or 0.45 mg/kg OG Se (diets II, III and IV, respectively) and CD plus 0.15, 0.30 or 0.45 mg/kg IOG Se (diets V, VI and VII, respectively).4. Feed intake (FI), body weight gain (BWG), immune variables and mRNA expression profile of hepatic selenoproteins (SepW, GSHPx1, TrxR and GSHPx3) genes were determined. The BWG, FI and feed conversion ratio did not differ among various dietary treatments.5. The lipid peroxidation and activity of RBC catalase were lower (P < 0.05) in groups fed diets supplemented OG Se compared to those fed IOG Se and CD. The activity of GSH Px was higher among the groups fed diet supplemented OG Se compared to those groups fed OG Se and CD. However, supplementing diets with OG or IOG Se did not affect humoral or cell mediated immune responses.6. The expression levels of SepW were higher (P < 0.01) among the groups supplemented with OG Se. Expression levels of GSH-Px1, TrxR and GSHPx3 were higher (P < 0.01) among the groups supplemented with OG Se compared to those groups fed IOG Se or CD.7. Supplementing OG Se improved the activities of anti-oxidant enzymes and hepatic expression of selenoproteins genes in the present study. However, supplementing OG or IOG Se did not affect growth performance and immune variables in broiler chickens.

BACKGROUND: Carica papaya seeds are rich in phytochemicals with potential health benefits, warranting safety and antioxidant assessments. This study comprehensively examined the ethanolic extract of Carica papaya seeds (EECPS) to elucidate its phytochemical composition, acute toxicity profile, and antioxidant activity. METHODS: Phytochemical analysis of EECPS revealed the presence of various bioactive compounds, including flavonoids, tannins, phenols, alkaloids, proteins, glycosides, and saponins. Additionally, the presence of sulfuric acid was confirmed. Acute toxicity assessment involved oral administration of EECPS at 2000mg/kg body weight to Wistar rats, with a 14-day observation period. General parameters, body weight changes, and histopathological examination of kidney and liver tissues were evaluated. Antioxidant activity was assessed using the 2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay, and the half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) value of EECPS was compared to that of gallic acid. RESULTS: Phytochemical analysis confirmed the diverse composition of EECPS, suggesting its potential health benefits and biological activity. Acute toxicity assessment revealed no adverse effects, with rats exhibiting normal behavior, weight stability, and no histopathological abnormalities in vital organs. The gallic acid IC50 value was determined to be 5.73±0.02 µg/mL, indicating its antioxidant potency. EECPS exhibited antioxidant properties in a dose-dependent manner, with higher concentrations demonstrating increased DPPH free radical quenching capacity. The IC50 value for EECPS was calculated from the dose-response curve to be 39.41±1.61 µg/mL (expressed as mean ± standard error of the mean (SEM)). CONCLUSION: The phytochemical analysis of EECPS highlights its diverse composition and potential health benefits. Acute toxicity studies in rats confirm its safety for oral administration, with no adverse effects observed. EECPS exhibits significant antioxidant activity, as indicated by its IC50 value. These findings suggest that EECPS holds promise for therapeutic use and health applications. However, further research is needed to determine its precise antioxidant potential. Subchronic and chronic toxicity studies are recommended to establish its safety profile definitively and unlock its full potential for healthcare and nutrition.

The electric monopole (E0) transition strength ρ^{2} for the transition connecting the third 0^{+} level, a "superdeformed" band head, to the "spherical" 0^{+} ground state in doubly magic ^{40}Ca is determined via e^{+}e^{-} pair-conversion spectroscopy. The measured value ρ^{2}(E0;0_{3}^{+}→0_{1}^{+})=2.3(5)×10^{-3} is the smallest ρ^{2}(E0;0^{+}→0^{+}) found in A<50 nuclei. In contrast, the E0 transition strength to the ground state observed from the second 0^{+} state, a band head of "normal" deformation, is an order of magnitude larger ρ^{2}(E0;0_{2}^{+}→0_{1}^{+})=25.9(16)×10^{-3}, which shows significant mixing between these two states. Large-scale shell-model (LSSM) calculations are performed to understand the microscopic structure of the excited states and the configuration mixing between them; experimental ρ^{2} values in ^{40}Ca and neighboring isotopes are well reproduced by the LSSM calculations. The unusually small ρ^{2}(E0;0_{3}^{+}→0_{1}^{+}) value is due to destructive interference in the mixing of shape-coexisting structures, which are based on several different multiparticle-multihole excitations. This observation goes beyond the usual treatment of E0 strengths, where two-state shape mixing cannot result in destructive interference.

On the basis of the boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) modality, we have designed and synthesized a zinc gallate (ZnGa2O4)-based nanoformulation for developing an innovative theranostic approach for cancer treatment. Initially, the (ZnGa1.995Cr0.005O4 or ZnGa2O4:(0.5%)Cr persistent luminescence nanoparticles (PLNPs) embedded on silica matrix were synthesized. Their surface functionalization was performed using organic synthesis strategies to attach the amine functional moieties which were further coupled with poly(vicinal diol). These diols were helpful for conjugation with 10B(OH)3, which subsequently served to couple with an in-house-synthesized variant of pH-(low)-insertion peptide (pHLIP) finally giving a tumor-targeting nanoformulation. Most importantly, the polymeric diols helped in conjugation of a substantial number of 10B to provide the therapeutic dose required for effective BNCT. This nanoformulation internalized substantially (∼80%) to WEHI-164 cancer cells within 6 h. Tumor homing studies indicated that the accumulation of this formulation at the acidic tumor site was within 2 h. The in vitro evaluation of the formulation against WEHI-164 cancer cells followed by neutron irradiation revealed its potent cytotoxicity with IC50 ∼ 25 µM. In the case of studies on animal models, the melanoma-induced C57BL/6 and fibrosarcoma-induced BALB/c mice were treated with formulations through intratumoral and intravenous injections, respectively, followed by neutron irradiation, leading to a significant killing of the cancer cells, which was evidenced by a reduction in tumor volume (75-80%) as compared with a control tumor. Furthermore, the histopathological studies confirmed a damaging effect only on tumor cells, while there was no sign of damage to the vital organs in treated mice as well as in controls.

Gut health plays an important role on production and performance of broilers. This trial was undertaken with an aim to evaluate the synergistic effect of probiotic, chicory root powder and coriander seed powder on the performance and gut health of broiler chicken. For this purpose, a total of 240 day-old broiler chicks were randomly allotted to six dietary treatments with 8 replicates of 5 birds in each. Treatment groups included T1 as control i.e., basal diet (BD) without any growth promoter and T2-BD + antibiotic (BMD 0.05%). In the remaining experimental diets, T3-probiotic (@ 0.01%) + chicory root powder (@ 1.0%), T4-probiotic (@ 0.01%) + coriander seed powder (@ 1.5%), T5-chicory root powder (@ 1.0%) + coriander seed powder (@ 1.5%) and T6-probiotic (@ 0.01%) + chicory root powder (@ 1.0%) + coriander seed powder (@ 1.5%). The results indicated that supplementation of probiotic + chicory (T3), probiotic + coriander (T4), chicory + coriander (T5) and probiotic + chicory + coriander (T6) in combination resulted in significantly (P<0.05) higher weight gain and better FCR compared to control and antibiotic groups at 42 d of age. Supplementation of different dietary groups did not show any significant (P>0.05) effect on feed intake of broilers. Supplementation of all the test diets (T3 to T6) significantly (P<0.05) increased the glutathione peroxidase (GSHPx), glutathione reductase (GSHRx) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) enzyme activity when compared to control and antibiotic groups at 42 d of age. Supplementation of all the test diets (T3 to T6) significantly (P<0.05) lowered the pH in the gut, increased Lactobacillus counts, and reduced E. coli and Salmonella counts in the ileum compared to control and antibiotic groups. Supplementation of all the test diets (T3 to T6) significantly (P<0.05) increased the villus height (VH), crypt depth (CD), VH:CD ratio and villus width (VW) in the duodenum and only VH and CD in the ileum compared to control and antibiotic groups. Significantly (P<0.05) higher jejunal VH and VW and increased the goblet cell number in duodenum, jejunum and ileum was recorded in all test diets (T3 to T6) compared to control and antibiotic groups. Therefore, combinations of probiotic (0.01%), chicory root powder (1.0%) and coriander seed powder (1.5%) can be used as feed additive for improving performance and gut health of broiler chicken.

Dental implants are the most promising modality of tooth replacement in the modern era. Of late, peri-implant architecture has gained significant importance and forms the basic foundation for success of an implant restoration, with both the hard and soft tissue components around an implant playing vital roles in the osseointegration process. A 23-year-old man reported with a titanium membrane exposure around tooth site 16 (FDI tooth-numbering system) along with decreased attached gingival width and thickness. To gain soft tissue thickness, a rotated connective tissue graft was harvested, as was a "sticky bone" graft to gain bone volume. Connective tissue is one of the most promising modalities for soft tissue augmentation around both the natural tooth and implants. "Sticky bone," which is a more advanced form of bone grafting techniques, was implemented to achieve the benefits of injectable platelet-rich fibrin. This case report describes the hard and soft tissue augmentation procedure and successful results at the 10-year follow-up, as well as fabrication of an implant-supported fixed partial denture.

Ocular tuberculosis is an extra-pulmonary form of systemic Tuberculosis (TB). It is rarely found concomitant with active pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB). The aim of this prospective observational study was to evaluate the pattern of tubercular uveitis (TBU) in the patients with active PTB who attended in our Uvea clinic at NIO&H from July 2018 to December 2020. Active PTB patients who had uveitis consistent with TBU and TBU patients who were confirmed as active lung lesion were included in the study. Chest X-ray, TST, IGRA (QuantiFERON-TB Gold Test), RT PCR of aqueous fluid for tubercular bacillus, Gene Xpert TB test of sputum were done to confirm the diagnosis of ocular and primary TB. If the induration is 15 mm of TST was considered patient in this study. Among 33 patients of active PTB, 4 had TBU (12.12%). Among 48 patients of TBU, 5 had active PTB (10.41%). 13 eyes of 9 patients were affected. Mean age at presentation was 41.8 years. There were anterior uveitis in 23.00% eyes, posterior uveitis in 69% eyes and panuveitis in 7.00% eyes. Choroidal granuloma was the most common presentation of posterior uveitis (46.00%). There were more than 4 times chance to develop choroidal granuloma in patients with active PTB than extrapulmonary TB (Χ²=4.53, <0.05), TBU patients with choroidal granuloma should be evaluated meticulously for active PTB and active PTB patients should be evaluated routinely by ophthalmologist for the search of TBU.

A study was conducted to investigate the effects of zinc proteinate (Zn-P) on laying performance, egg quality, antioxidant indices, and egg zinc content in laying hens from 38 to 49 weeks of age. A total of 150 White Leghorn layers were randomly assigned to five treatments, each with six replicates with five birds per replication. Dietary treatments included a corn-soybean meal-based basal diet with no zinc addition and basal diet supplemented with Zn-P at 40, 80, 120, or 160 mg/kg of feed for 12 weeks. The analyzed zinc concentrations of the five diets were 29.5, 70.8, 110.2, 147.5, and 187.5 mg Zn/kg, respectively. Dietary Zn-P supplementation had no effect on feed intake and egg production. However, raising the zinc level improved egg weight (P < 0.01) and egg mass (P < 0.05) and lowered the feed conversion ratio (P < 0.05) during the later (46-49 weeks) period. The Zn-P supplementation also significantly (P < 0.05) increased Haugh units, egg shell strength, and shell thickness and had no influence on other egg quality parameters. Increasing zinc levels in the diet resulted in increase in egg zinc contents and serum zinc level. The serum triglyceride and LDL-cholesterol levels significantly decreased (P < 0.05) in Zn-P-supplemented groups. Supplementation of Zn-P significantly (P < 0.05) increased serum Cu-Zn-SOD activity and reduced MDA concentration. It could be concluded that dietary supplementation of higher levels of Zn-P, more than 80 mg/kg diet, significantly improved the egg zinc content, some egg quality traits, antioxidant activity, and serum zinc levels.

The COVID-19 pandemic has posed threats to human life across the globe, including India. Vaccinating is an effective means of addressing the pandemic threat. The government of India has implemented a massive vaccination drive to save its citizens from the deadly virus. However, the effort has faced multiple challenges, including vaccine hesitancy. This research understands respondents' perspectives on factors contributing to the lower vaccination uptake in Gujarat, India. Forty-four semi-structured interviews were conducted through convenience sampling representing different demographic backgrounds. Factors influencing vaccine adoption included religious leadership, political leadership and the government, and fear of side effects, especially among children and those with co-morbidities, resulting primarily from fake news and misinformation circulated through social media. Compared with nine countries from across the world, the study found similarities to vaccine hesitancy from misinformation and the fear of side effects among children. In contrast, the role of government and the influence of religious and political leaders was considered positive. The study recommends strategies to overcome people's apprehensions about the adoption of vaccination. These include offering incentives, providing positive peer-to-peer communication, recruiting influencers such as religious and community leaders and early adopters such as the elderly population to endorse vaccination, targeting youth through social media, and reaching rural sections by involving NGOs and social service groups.

Zinc incorporation and the growth of Saccharomyces cerevisiae were investigated in a culture supplemented with three inorganic zinc salts, i.e. zinc sulphate, zinc chloride and zinc nitrate. The cultivation was performed on a yeast extract peptone dextrose (YEPD) broth medium. The growth of yeast was carried out at different concentrations of zinc, i.e. 0, 30, 60, 90 and 120 mg 100 ml-1. It was found that the addition of different zinc sources at 30 mg 100 ml-1 concentration produced higher biomass yield ranging 1.00-1.03 g from 100 ml-1 of cultivation medium, while higher zinc concentration in the medium caused significantly lower yields of yeast biomass. The amount of zinc in yeast cells was determined by an atomic absorption spectrometer (AAS). The highest amount of zinc in yeast cells was achieved when added in the form of zinc sulphate at a concentration of 120 mg 100 ml-1. The increment of intracellular zinc was up to 9889.67 mg kg-1 of biomass.

Drone operations have added a new chapter to modern warfare. They may not guarantee immediate territorial gains but can significantly influence ideological and political alignment of the adversary at a cost which is much lower than conventional war. However, drone operators, which include remote pilots, intelligence coordinators, and other support staff, may face important psychological issues which may affect their mental health and operational efficiency. We conducted a nonsystematic narrative review of the articles dealing with the issue and found that drone operators and support staff have higher chances of suffering from emotional disengagement, Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD), emotional exhaustion, and burnout. The scope of the article does not cover the psychological effect on the targeted populations or political and ethical issues dealing with drone warfare.
