RESUMO

It was established that the administration of an aqueous solution of bis(µ-tartrato)di(µ-hydroxy) germanate (IV) triethanolammonium to animals daily for 2 months at a dose of the active substance of 10 mg/kg of the animal's weight leads to inhibition of the total activity of the alkaline phospholipase A2 of mononuclear cells. The results of the study can be used to correct lipid metabolism in the development of disorders in hyperlipidemia. This makes it possible to expand the scope of use of the studied substance and create new pharmaceuticals based on bis(µ-tartrato)di(µ-hydroxy) germanate (IV) triethanolammonium prevent and inhibit the development of hyperlipidemia.

RESUMO

The data on inhibition of the growth of microorganisms of a characteristic spectrum and antibiotic resistance isolated from long-term healing wounds by light of various wave ranges are presented. The growing cultures on blood agar were exposed to polarized light, red and infrared, ultraviolet of medium- and short-wave continuous modes accustomed in physiotherapy of wounds. The effect of light in some way induced inhibition of the growth, but complete recovery was stated only after the use of ultraviolet light when confirmed quantitatively in terms of the CFU.

RESUMO

Salivary and serum levels of lactoferrin and ferritin were measured in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis and patients with other nonspecific respiratory diseases. Measurements of lactoferrin in biological media and particularly in the serum of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis proved to be a highly informative test for monitoring the disease course, i.e. for evaluation of inflammatory process activity. Ferritin level can serve as an indicator of tissue destruction during inflammation and of the course of rehabilitation processes.

RESUMO

Antihypoxic activity of oxytocin and feasibility of its use as an antihypoxic agent are shown. ACTH and vasopressin have an opposite action. Female rat castration leads to enhancement of FSH and LH activity of the hypophysis. Hypoxia does not influence gonadotrophic activity of castrate and cycling animals. Chronic hypobaric hypoxia depresses myometrial contractility in intact sensitivity to oxytocin. Sensitivity of the ovaries to exogenic FSH and ovarian secretory function decline. Hypoxia has no effect on sensitivity of vaginal epithelium to folliculin, but raises uterine sensitivity to adrenaline.

RESUMO

In the condition of prolonged group sex starvation of rats variations were seen in behavioral reactions, fertility, extent of weight gain, litter, blood alpha-tocopherol level, eosinophil count, lipid peroxidation, evoked brain potentials. All these processes are the sign of stress development in rats. Thus, stress in mature rats influences litter and fertility, newborn rats had underdeveloped nervous system. Changes in the activity of endogenic antioxidant system in this experiment are discussed.

RESUMO

The dynamics of pulse activity in the cells of posterior hypothalamic regions was studied in acute experiments on white rats treated with oxytocin. Intravenous injections of the drug induced dose-dependent reorganization of the neuron discharge both in intact rats and in animals with obvious emotional sexual stress. The dose-dependent effect was observed in various latent periods of the neuron response and was manifested by changes in the character of pulsation. The higher the background frequency of cell pulses, the less pronounced was the neuron response to the drug. In some cases, the drug intensified the burst activity and produced regulation of the discharge rhythm.

RESUMO

Acute experiments on white laboratory rats were performed to study spike activity in neurons of the anterior hypothalamus in response to i.v. injections of different doses of oxytocin. The results showed that oxytocin evoked different types of rearrangement of neuron activity both in intact and in stressed animals. The dose-related effects of oxytocin affected the latent periods of neuron responses and the nature of rearrangements in spike activity. The greater the frequency of the baseline activity of the cells, the less marked was the response of the neurons to administration of oxytocin.

RESUMO

In patients with familial arterial hypertension and their relatives preclinical signs of myocardial hypertrophy were observed before the formation of stably increased blood pressure. We evaluated echocardiographic sings of left ventricular myocardial hypertrophy in normotensive relatives of patients with arterial hypertension.

RESUMO

The dynamics of impulse activity of amygdaloid neurons in response to intravenous injection of oxytocin were examined in acute experiments on random-bred albino rats. Oxytocin modified activity of amygdaloid neurons in intact and stressed rats. The dose-dependent effects of oxytocin were manifested in changes in the latency of neuronal responses and in rearrangement of their spike activity. The oxytocin-induced neuronal responses were less pronounced in cells with high baseline activity.
