RESUMO

Receiver position sensing is investigated in a dynamic wireless power transfer (DWPT) system for electric vehicle (EV) charging. Exploiting the peculiar behaviour of the resonator arrays input impedance, it is possible to identify the position of the receiver coil by exciting the first array resonator with a signal at a proper frequency and measuring the resulting current. An analytical expression of the input impedance of the resonator array coupled with the EV receiver coil placed in a generic position is provided; its sensitivity to different circuit parameters is also analysed. The outline of a simple and effective algorithm for the localization of the EV is proposed and applied to a test case.

RESUMO

The electromagnetic interference caused by overhead power lines on nonparallel underground pipelines is assessed in "A numerical model for the calculation of electromagnetic interference from power lines on nonparallel underground pipelines" (Popoli et al., 2020 [1]) by segmenting the pipeline path in a number of traits parallel to the power line. The analysis requires a multi-port electrical component to be extracted for each pipeline segment by means of finite element 2D analysis; circuit analysis can then be applied to the network composed of the cascade of the multi-port electrical components in order to calculate the induced voltages and currents on the pipeline. The data in this paper consist of matrices which represent the multi-port electrical components corresponding to the segments in which the pipeline has been subdivided. These matrices can then be used as constitutive relations in network analysis, as detailed in (Popoli et al., 2019 [2]), in order to find the induced pipeline voltages and currents for different intersection angles between the pipeline and overhead power line routings.

RESUMO

The data presented in this article relate to the research article "A quasi-3D approach for the assessment of induced AC interference on buried metallic pipelines" (Popoli et al., 2018) [1]. The current induced on a pipeline versus the distance between the overhead power line and the pipeline is presented. Various configurations of the overhead power line are considered. The calculations are based on method that combines 2D FEM simulations with circuital analysis.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: The application of an electric field has been shown to positively influence the impregnation of the resin monomers currently used in dentin bonding systems during hybrid layer formation. This study presents an experimental characterization of the electrical properties of these monomers with the aim of both correlating them to their chemical structures and seeking an insight into the mechanisms of the monomer migration under an applied electric field. METHODS: Some common monomers examined were TEGDMA (triethyleneglycoldimethacrylate), HEMA (2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate), UDMA (urethane dimethacrylate), 2-MP (bis[2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl] phosphate, TCDM di(hydroxyethyl methacrylate) ester of 5-(2,5-dioxotetrahydrofurfuryl)-3-methyl-3-cyclohexenyl-1,2-dicarboxylic anhydride) and Bis-GMA [2,2-bis(4-2-hydroxy-3-methacryloyloxypropoxyphenyl)propane]. A customized cell produced for the measurement of the electrical properties of monomers was manufactured and electrical conductivity and permittivity of resin monomers were measured. RESULTS: The permittivity of the tested monomers is largely affected by electrical frequency. The large values of permittivity and dielectric losses observed as frequency decreased, indicate a dominant effect of ionic polarization, particularly evident in materials showing the highest conductivity. Permittivity and conductivity of the tested monomers showed a similar behavior, i.e. materials with the lowest permittivity also show small values of conductivity and vice versa. SIGNIFICANCE: The results of the present study revealed a good correlation between electrical properties and Hoy solubility parameters and, in particular, the higher the polar contribution (polar forces plus hydrogen bonding) the higher the permittivity and conductivity. The most relevant outcome of this study is that the electrophoretic mechanism prevails on the electroendoosmotic effect in determining the monomer migration under the application of electric fields.
