RESUMO

The authors induct the labor of 88 pregnant women by Misoprostol /Cytotec/ tablette 50 mcgr accepted every four hour per vaginam. The results are the same as/or better/ than the results per os. Our results are in agreement with experimental one of R.-U. Khan et al,. 2004, fig. 1.

RESUMO

From January 2002 up to June 2003 year we performed 19 amniocentesis during second trimester of pregnancy, upon medical indications. There was only one complication--flow out of amniotic fluid after the amniocentesis. We adopted the conservative treatement--bed rest and antibiotics: the flow stopped 18 days after the amniocentesis and te pregnancy reached uncomplicated termin with a healthy newborn.

RESUMO

The aim of the study was to assess pregnant women's attitude and receptivity for second trimester prenatal screening and diagnostic tests for fetal Down syndrome [DS], factors that influence attitude formation, sufficiency of patients' information, advisability of introduction of these tests in routine prenatal care Interviews with 129 pregnant women were conducted after they had received written information concerning prenatal DS screening and diagnostic tests Five questions to the point of the matter as well as 14 related to the personal characteristics of the interviewed were included. Ultrasound screening rt]. accepted by 98.4% serum screening--by 93% and invasive prenatal testing--by 90% of the pregnant women Patients receptivity for serum screening and invasive testing Was influenced by factors like age, past obstetric history educational level, religiosity, attitude towards patient's own health For some of the factors statistically significant relationships were present while for others only some trends were outlined Regarding patients' high receptivity for prenatal DS screening and diagnostic tests the latter can be recommended as an element of the routine prenatal care in our country.

RESUMO

Experimental studies were carried out on the pathogenesis of Paramphistomum infection of 58 weaned lambs, aged 4 to 12 months, infected with various numbers of adolescaria. The test animals were divided into 5 groups, each group having 2 subgroups. Most of the animals were given the infectious material only once, while some of them were infected three times at 30-day intervals. The animals of the fifth group were infected with 5,000 live worms each. Adolescaria were obtained from experimentally infected snails of the Galba truncatula species. The changes taking place in both the test and the control animals were followed up, concerning the total protein, protein fractions, hemoglobin, red and white blood picture, and the hematocrit values. The changes in the level of Ca, P, and serum enzymes were also studied. The liver, spleen, kidneys, adrenals, periportal and mesenterial lymph nodes duodenum, and small intestine were sampled for histopathologic investigation, the cross-sectioned material being stained with hematoxylin-eosin and after Mallory (for the demonstration of hyalin). The PAS test was used to demonstrate glycogen. It was found that reconstructive changes took place in the infected animals as judged by the changes in the blood picture and the protein fractions, most substantial of which were those concerning the gamma-globulin fractions which rose almost twice by the 90th day. Microscopically, there were degenerative changes in the parenchymal organs, the duodenum, and the rumen as well as considerable reticulo-histiocytic proliferation and eosinophilic infiltration, with nonreactive necrotic foci in the rumen.

RESUMO

Experiments were carried out with a total of 140 guinea pigs to study the effect of a tissue emulsion of swine embryos on some of the general defense reactions, the cell and humoral immunity of the organism in the treatment with an intact and a killed (with 3 per cent formalin) vaccine produced with two strains of Salmonella abortus ovis. Investigated were the phagocytic activity of the lung macrophages and the immobile cells of the reticulo-endothelial system in the spleen and the liver, the protein spectrum, the blood serum level of properdine, and the histologic changes in the parenchymal organs of the test animals. It was found that the application of a tissue emulsion simultaneously with the injection of the animals with an anti-Salmonella vaccine raised the unspecific reactivity of the organism. This was expressed with the rise of the gammaglobulin and properdine levels of the blood serum and the change in the immunologic pattern of the organism, an increase in the phagocytic activity of lung macrophages and RES immobile cells from 16 to 25 per cent, and the titer of agglutinins--from 10 to 32 times. Highest agglutinin titers of the blood and most active phagocytic defense were reached with the use of a vaccine having a whole antigen, combined with a tissue emulsion.

RESUMO

Radiometric, microbiologic, biochemical and morphologic investigations were carried out with a total of 95 guinea pigs and 20 rabbits in order to study the effect of the biogenic stimulants after Filatov on the phagocytic activity of the reticulo-endothelial system. Use was made of a tissue emulsion of swine embryos with biologic activity up to 160 per cent and a microbial stain - Escherichia coli 078. The labeling of the microorganisms was effected by means of 32P as obtained from Na2 H32PO4. It was found that the parenteral treatment of the animals with tissue emulsion after Filatov leads to the enhancement of the phagocytic activity and the lysing of the phagocytised bacteria by the elements of the reticulo-endothelial system by 7 to 10 per cent more than was observed with the use of control animals. The biogenic stimulants after Filatov activate the plasmocytic reaction of the body and the development of ribonucleoproteids in the parenchymal organs, and raise the level of properdin and gamma-globulins in the blood of the treated animals.
